@mummatara if there’s anything retained are you gonna keep waiting it out? Feel like it’s gone on an eternity for you so can’t imagine how much your fed up with it by now!

mummatara · 18/10/2022 11:07

@ChloeN no I think I'll opt for MVA or D&C probably an MVA. From what I've read it's not too bad and saves all the rigmarole of being put to sleep again. I think @FfayeN you said you had one? Something could go right for me this year and it's all gone 🤞🏼 but probably not knowing my crappy luck 😂 it really has been an eternity when we technically found out at the private scan on 10th September 🙄

FingersCrossedXXX · 18/10/2022 11:16

@mummatara Sorry to hear you have had 2 losses. I just had to google what a blighted Ovum was. I have been so ignorant to all of the things which could happen in early pregnancy but seem to be learning new stuff every day since having my own experience with early pregnancy loss.

I feel exactly the same with the 'wait and see' method. I could have had an injection of Methotrexate to speed it along but you can't conceive for 3 months after taking it as it strips your body of folic acid. But then if my levels take weeks and weeks to drop or they suddenly stagnate and I have to have it anyway, I will kick myself for not just having it in the first place. Do you know what the levels were initially to know if you have had any decrease? Hopefully when you go again there is a decent drop.

ChloeN · 18/10/2022 11:21

@mummatara tbh id probably do the same, how much longer can you keep hanging on it could be weeks and weeks! At least with surgery it’s over in a day

mummatara · 18/10/2022 11:30

@FingersCrossedXXX don't worry I didn't know either 🙈 honestly until you actually start chatting to others I think most people just don't realise all of the things that can happen. I remember when I fell pregnant with my DS I did one pregnancy test and thought no more of it oh the naivety 😳

I know it's a hard one isn't it. With my D&C I had only a couple of days of bleeding after but it took 6 weeks for my levels to drop. I was hoping once this one started that it would drop quicker but now I'm in this horrible limbo of did it all come out 🙄 tbf my level has dropped considerably I did a private hcg test just after my private scan the sac was still growing at this point and it was 79000 but I don't know what the level was at the point I started bleeding unfortunately. I think I'll be annoyed at myself too if I get to 6 weeks and it's all still happening and I've got further to go. So much of the process is just waiting when all you want is a baby ☹️ is this your first?

mummatara · 18/10/2022 11:32

@ChloeN yes I'm so over waiting now 🙊 but I will be so happy if I have the scan and they say nope all good I bet I have to wait a good week for the scan though 🙄

FingersCrossedXXX · 18/10/2022 12:08

@mummatara Woah, they were super high to begin with then! It must be so frustrating though still waiting 3 weeks on. Are you going to try again straight away if it does resolve itself or will you take some time off?

My numbers are so low in comparison. My HCG levels were 126 at 6+2, then dropped to 96 and then back up to 105. Next test on Friday which will be 8 days after my last. I took a home pregnancy test yesterday which worried me as the test line seems to be stronger but the EPU didn't seem concerned and said its not a reliable way to test the HCG levels and to wait until Friday!

I already have a son which was a straight forward pregnancy and birth. I wonder if I also had quite low levels with him (though probably not this low!) as I never suffered any pregnancy symptoms.

@ChloeN When do you plan to test?

RaliaMusca · 18/10/2022 12:43

@mummatara such an annoying limbo situation for you. Well done for being so patient. I had a mva in August. It wasn't pleasant and I was glad they warned me that you can hear a suction noise when they suck the stuff out. But all in all it was totally manageable, didn't last long at all and my recovery was super quick. Had only one day of proper bleeding, then spotting for a week, then all done. Conceived again two weeks later 😅

My nausea is through the roof today. Gives me some reassurance at least. One week today until the scan 🤞 I just really hope I don't get any more bleeding. It's freaking me out so much.

mummatara · 18/10/2022 12:47

@FingersCrossedXXX well try again straight away though I won't do any opks until next cycle. Now I've stopped bleeding we've just been dtd every few days and if anything happens lovely. Tbh I don't think I'll ovulate with my hcg that high but stranger things have happened im sure. It's nice not to poas every day 😆 I'll be 37 in a few weeks and we did want 3 children so don't want to waste taking any time off unless I absolutely have to.

Yes it seems EPUs don't take much stock in pregnancy tests I suppose different brands give different lines maybe 🤔

Oooh lucky I didn't have horrendous symptoms with all mine but they were def there

mummatara · 18/10/2022 12:52

@RaliaMusca ooh thank for the info lovely that's what I thought recovery is fairly quick here's hoping I don't need it 🤞🏼 oh the nausea is the worst but also the best 😆 I hope you don't bleed any further too 💕

FfayeN · 18/10/2022 13:06

@mummatara I haven't read through the posts since your mention about the D&C. I'm not sure if there's a difference between that and MVA? I went under general anaesthetic and had the D&C, I just felt sore and tender inside. Bled for about 2 weeks but I have to say I found it less painful that my natural one. There were no cramps and I was almost blissfully unaware of the process if that makes sense. Just took a little while to exercise again and feel 100%. Given the choice (and absolutely if there was no risk of scarring) I'd have the surgical option again. xx

@ChloeN yeah so I had the first bleed which was the initial MC, then I’ve had like a full 30 odd day cycle waiting for (suspected) retained tissue to leave my body, now I’m bleeding again and my hcg is coming down

FfayeN · 18/10/2022 13:11

@mummatara where did you get your private hcg tests? I was thinking of doing those to check things.
I gave into the temptation of POAS last night. Lighter test was Friday, darker one is from last night. At least it's darker, although not sure it can get any darker than that. Hopefully this is normal but feel like I have no symptoms at all now x

@FfayeN the mva is done under local anaesthetic so the immediate recovery time afterwards is mega quick (I went home half an hour later) and I think it's also gentler on the uterine lining. They numb your cervix and the just put a suction device into the uterus and manually suck out everything that needs to go. Took about 10 minutes. I did find it painful though, like strong period cramps, whilst they did it.

mummatara · 18/10/2022 13:15

@FfayeN ahhh I thought you had an MVA. So MVA is done whilst you're awake and they vacuum the products out whereas they put you under for D&C which is what I had in June. I did have a good experience with my D&C I just was hoping for less intrusion hence opting for natural this time

LuckyMoonstone · 18/10/2022 13:17

@FfayeN now that’s a line to be proud of!

mummatara · 18/10/2022 13:17

@RaliaMusca did they scan you to check all was gone whilst you were there? I've seen some people have said they had a scan at the same time

mummatara · 18/10/2022 13:18

@FfayeN I used medichecks was very easy though they might be a be harder to do 48 hr checks atm as Royal Mail are striking left right and centre 🙄 those are brilliant lines!

RaliaMusca · 18/10/2022 13:20

@mummatara they didn't which surprised me. But it was luckily all good and my test was negative two weeks later

ChloeN · 18/10/2022 13:29

@LuckyMoonstone ah okay, so looks like you’re finally getting back to normal now? X

RaliaMusca · 18/10/2022 13:44

@FfayeN how many dpo are you? Gorgeous line! I never get any symptoms until I'm about 6 weeks along.

LuckyMoonstone · 18/10/2022 14:37

@ChloeN hopefully 🤞 I’ll do a test in a week or so

Indianna2006 · 18/10/2022 16:05

@FfayeN that’s a very good line. 😊😊 don’t worry too much about symtoms. They just differ Don’t they. Took until about 7 weeks with my DD. Then this time I was only saying to my husband. I don’t like it. I feel fine. And 6 weeks hit and bam. Sickness and nausea 24/7. Wish I’d kept my mouth shut then 😂 it’s only now just easing off.

@mummatara bless you hun. Night went on a while. Does make it such an ordeal. An then I ended up with surgery anyway. Damn retained tissue. Hopefully there isn’t any. But for me it was quicker and simpler to resolve it via surgery etc then keep waiting on some bloody unknown of it should eventually flush it out. After 5 weeks of foreword and back I was emotionally drained of it.

FfayeN · 18/10/2022 16:22

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, I am now 17dpo 😊. I won't be able to resist doing another probably Thursday and then I'll let it lie. I am just hoping I can manage the sickness at work if it does get bad 😬.
@mummatara that makes sense now and I totally get taking the natural option as it's less intrusive if your body is able to do it. With my MMC I had to wait almost two weeks for the appointment, but the whole time I was just wishing it didn't happen naturally (I had loads of stuff planned and days out with the DH and DSDs so it would have been a nightmare to manage and not tell everyone) xx

@FfayeN those lines are looking great! You're right though, I'm not sure they could get any darker, so don't worry if that's the case. I've also had really fluctuating symptoms- cramps yesterday and nothing at all today. Trying to remind myself it's normal!

I used my last FRER this morning. 13dpo was taken in the afternoon. What do we think? I think I can see a difference, but I was hoping for it to be a bit darker 😬. Give it to me straight!
