@theblueflowers @Tor88 exactly that! I test like a crazy person. I can hold off until about 10dpo then I can't help but test everyday. I always have high hopes, but with my symptoms I have to test otherwise those hopes run away with themselves. x

Tor88 · 28/08/2022 16:21

@theblueflowers I do think miscarriage really messes things up with our hormones, and often for quite a long time after :( so unfair. And I'm with you re symptoms starting earlier and earlier! Before my miscarriages I never ever had midcycle cramps, now they are constant. AF styles cramps way before she shows up most months.

I do wonder if sometimes it's our bodies trying to implant but rejecting it very quickly? There's no way of ever knowing, but it makes me feel less crazy to think that way. That I am correctly identifying symptoms, but unfortunately (or fortunately perhaps) my body says nah, and AF arrives.

@FfayeN that makes total sense yeah. Like I'm trying to hold off today but actually I might be better off just going for it, otherwise I'll have double dissapointment if it's a BFN tomo and I've been thinking I've given my body plenty of time of the HCG to rise... I just find it so depressing staring at that stick willing the second line to materialise, checking it in different lights etc. But it just is what it is isn't it!

FfayeN · 28/08/2022 18:51

@Tor88 yeah I just don't think there's a way of doing it that doesn't lead to disappointment at some stage. Just have to work out what gives you the least anxiety xx

Luna57 · 28/08/2022 19:41

@AwayWeGoAgain @pangolin84 @MrsCristiano my DS was pushing my buttons yesterday too there must of been something in the air. He’s not even one yet but throwing toddler tantrums. Hence why I haven’t been active on here til he’s in bed, as the moment he sees a phone he wants it and if he’s not phoning the police he’s blocking your phone for like half an hour at a time so it’s easier just to put my phone away til he’s sleeping 😂

@Tor88 @FfayeN i have been cramping from 5dpo and even my boobs have been cramping like they’re having a let down and even now at 16dpo my nipples have got bigger and darker. Still no AF. My CM is crazy post O this month. So watery and lots of it. It’s now slowing down and going more milky so I’m hoping my hormones are changing for AF. If I hadn’t been testing form 7dpo id be assuming I was pregnant. Crazy what a MC can do to you. I’m not even sure I ovulated this month I just used OPK and got a high on cd14 and then it declined but I realised I never tested cd13 so not sure if I peaked then but cd12 was very negative.

Tor88 · 28/08/2022 20:07

@FfayeN absolutely you're right, no real way to avoid the dissapointment. I am BFN again today, I had a v v v faint bfp at this point last time (if I've got my days right) so thinking I'm out.

@Luna57 ah soo frustrating and weird :( how many dpo are you? Watery cm was a real sign for me in the past, barely had any this cycle. Though ive had some pretty intense cramps, hard nips in and off, bitter taste, all sorts. Must just be post miscarriage madness. I was also super dizzy this morn and v tired all day today but this eve my jaw has started aching so I think I'm just ill lol, rather than pg.

MrsCristiano · 28/08/2022 20:08

@Luna57 mines defo on the decline 0.4 something today...and you know what that means? DH can bugger off🤣 all the timed DTD is over!!!! Love it!! You tempted to test again?

Luna57 · 28/08/2022 20:16

@Tor88 im 16dpo last I tested was yesterday and it was a definite BFN. Strangely I had a day where my jaw was sore too and every muscle in my body even my ankles were sore. I’ve been having bad pains in my womb to the point where sitting down hurts. I’ve never had watery CM like this before not even with DS it’s awful. Post MC symptoms are something else I’m totally exhausted too the last 3 days I’ve napped. Yesterday I napped twice and the day before I even fell asleep in the car while DS was sleeping (car was still running!!!). Please tell me the first cycle after MC is like this and then everything gets better again? 😂

MrsCristiano · 28/08/2022 20:23

@Luna57 I'm so sorry I didn't realise your miscarriage was such a short time ago. My first AF after miscarriage was awful. Pain everywhere and a lot of bleeding 🙁

Luna57 · 28/08/2022 20:23

@MrsCristiano hallelujah!!! Fingers crossed for the TWW. No, the test yesterday was stark white, I could even see the pink dye skip over the test line as it moved up so at 15dpo that def would of shown up it was a sensitive enough test. I’m just dreading AF and hoping she doesn’t arrive while I’m mid flight and as someone else mentioned before (sorry I’ve forgotten who) have gushes up and down the cabin 😂

Tor88 · 28/08/2022 20:25

@Luna57 oh that's so bizarre and frustrating for you :( it all sounds so promising!!

I'm sorry to say I'm 3 cycles clear of my second miscarriage at this point. This didn't happen to me last cycle though, so the worst was the first cycle after and now this. But I had a similar experience with my second cycle after my first miscarriage, crazzzzy mid cycle cramps and bfn. It is truly evil 💔💔 Hope your af shows up soon so you can just move on! But if it's your first cycle post MC it may well be late...

Luna57 · 28/08/2022 20:38

@MrsCristiano feels like a century ago but only happened the end of July 😭

@Tor88 ill probably be here 56dpo and still no AF pray for me 😂 my cycles have never been normal I’ve never been able to know a date or if I’m late she just turns up when she wants.

Loz365 · 28/08/2022 21:52

Can I have a bit of a hand hold - tell me it gets better...

Had my first MC end of July/beginning of August. Bleeding started 3rd Aug and af has shown up today, making this 'cycle' only 25 days long. I track bbt and ovulated on CD18 so my LP has only been 7 days long (normally short but usually get to 9 days).
Also the cramps are pretty awful, almost as bad as the miscarriage itself. Hugging a hot water as I type with painkillers only half helping.

Is the pain in the first cycle post-MC the worst? Tell me it gets better 😞
And is my LP so ridiculously short because my hormones are all over the place? Will it go back to normal? X

FfayeN · 28/08/2022 21:57

@Luna57 it's awful isn't it the first one you just don't know if you're coming or going.
@MrsCristiano yay for the TWW again! We should call it the sausage sabbatical. I reckon I've got 4 DTDs to go, that's if ovulation comes at the same time as last month.
@Tor88 I'm sorry your body is playing tricks on you 😣 xx

MrsCristiano · 28/08/2022 22:34

@Luna57 yes to the pain and yes to the out of whack hormones. I had brown spotting the entire post mc cycle none at all now I'm really sorry AF started but it's a cycle towards your rainbow 🌈 big hugs lovely Xx

MrsCristiano · 28/08/2022 22:36

@Luna57 sorry meant to tag @Loz365 xx

ChloeN · 29/08/2022 07:53

@Loz365 I’m in a similar boat! I counted from the day I actually lost the baby(3rd august too) as was bleeding lightly before, and have started my period this morning! My cycles are normally 28 days longer but was expecting this one to be longer rather than shorter!

Loz365 · 29/08/2022 09:27

@MrsCristiano thank you! Feeling more emotionally stable today 🫠 and the cramps have settled a bit thankfully!

@ChloeN sorry to hear you're in a similar position. I was expecting a long cycle so trying to see the positives that at least ive got the first period out of the way quickly. I'm under the infertility clinic (pcos) and can restart letrozole this cycle so hoping it works again for us! I hope your doing okay! X

FfayeN · 29/08/2022 09:55

@Loz365 sorry to hear you're having a rough time. I've had both scenarios. One really short cycles after MC (17 days) and some much much longer from the most recent. I think either way it just takes our bodies a while to get back to normal. Both painful though. That doesn't help with the frustration but you will get there 😔. Xx

Fertilily is on the boil...ready to go tonight 😬.

bunnykins123 · 29/08/2022 10:15

@Loz365 I'm so sorry you are going through this 😢 I've found my cycles get longer after a miscarriage and much more unpredictable. I also seem to bleed for a lot longer /heavier during AF. I think it's fairly common for hormones to be quite jumpy following a miscarriage so I wouldn't worry too much. Regarding the pain, I don't think that's unusual either but maybe keep an eye on it and if it continues for a few cycles, it may be worth speaking with your GP just to check?

MrsCristiano · 29/08/2022 12:02

@FfayeN you have to boil it?! Everytime?

bunnykins123 · 29/08/2022 12:28

@FfayeN let me know how you get on, I got a cheapie version and cannot for the life of me get it up the hoo-ha! I wonder if the actual Fertilily is a bit less ridid than the one I've got 🙃

MrsCristiano · 29/08/2022 12:52

@bunnykins123 I got a mooncup thinking similar idea but cheaper. It didn't go up either 🙈

Loz365 · 29/08/2022 13:19

@FfayeN thank you! I'm feeling much better today and hearing that other people have had similar experiences is really helpful. I've found the whole MC quite a lonely time and it's nice to have a place like this where others know what it's like 😌

@bunnykins123 thanks, yea I'll certainly keep an eye on it and speak to my GP if it continues. Seems to have improved today so 🤞 the worst is over!

One positive of af arriving, I'm able to enjoy an alcoholic drink over the bank holiday with no regrets 🤣🥂

FfayeN · 29/08/2022 13:26

@MrsCristiano @bunnykins123 no just the first time. It does say to practice before the actual time you need to use it...but there hasn't been an appropriate time for a fiddle 🤣

LuckyMoonstone · 29/08/2022 13:42

Omg absolutely NO movement on the opks at all. I’ve been testing several times a day for the last like 3 days and they are just hovering between 0.14 and 0.20. This is soooooo annoying 😣
