@ChloeN mine defo was extended after the miscarriages. Mine are longer overall now, they haven't really gone back to pre-miscarriage length. Absolutely no idea why! Hormones I guess?

Weirdly mine got shorter. Pre miscarriage I was averaging a 33 day cycle. Now it's around 30.

@bunnykins123 husband had the sperm analysis. I had all the blood tests, ovarian reserve checked, womb scan and the test where they run dye through your tubes (horrible). Everything came back absolutely fine. They ruled out PCOS (which I convinced myself for many years I had). They actually said husband’s swimmers were ‘above average’ mobility which he interpreted as him having ‘super sperm’ 🙄 .
When I had the follow up scan to establish why I was still bleeding three weeks after the surgical management, as well as ‘retained tissue’ they did also find a small ovarian cyst. The first doctor I spoke to presented this as if I was dying or something, whereas the next consultant (his boss) dismissed it as normal and nothing to worry about. I do have a follow up scan in November to see if it’s still there, as precaution. I’m told this has no impact on fertility and cysts like this grow every month (particularly during pregnancy) but obviously it’s an extra thing I’m obsessing about!

ChloeN · 06/09/2022 09:47

@TheBirdintheCave @bunnykins123 thank you both! I’ll start testing for ovulation in a couple of days! Didn’t want to waste too many tests if I was nowhere near 🤣

TheBirdintheCave · 06/09/2022 12:19

@MrsCristiano Did you find a FRER?? 😬

Indianna2006 · 06/09/2022 12:19

@Lottylou2022 if it’s any consolation. I also had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary they found during my mmc scan. It had developed into a bigger persistent cyst from the corpus lupeum cyst will develops from the released ovary follicle which supports the initial pregnancy. Apparently it’s quite common it grows into a more complicated cyst. They told me it would likely go down. An again had no baring on fertility.

alas..it did not affect it as I found out I was pregnant 3 months after ERPC surgery for retained product for that mmc. So presume my cyst over the next few cycles disappeared.

so try not to worry about that. Believe it’s very normal 🙂

still watching and rooting for you all whilst gagging from the sidelines 🤢🥴🤞🏼

Lottylou2022 · 06/09/2022 12:52

@Indianna2006 that is reassuring thank you. And congratulations on the pregnancy!

LuckyMoonstone · 06/09/2022 13:45

Just spoke to my GP surgery. All my bloods were normal except thyroid (surprise surprise) and I also have to repeat the liver function test, which is a bit annoying as it means waiting longer for my actual doc appointment to go through all this, which is 29th September! But I should be grateful that it’s a few weeks and not a few months. Best start taking my Liverel again in preparation 😅

emhope · 06/09/2022 14:00

@Lottylou2022 sorry you may have already mentioned this but were these NHS tests or private?
The BFN this month has really got to me and I am having a major panic that I will never get pregnant again as maybe something is wrong with me or OH (I’m nearly 36, OH is 45)
I conceived 1st month trying with the baby we lost but now thinking this was a complete fluke and we were just extremely lucky. It’s probably irrational as it’s only been 5 cycles since but I feel like I can’t think positively at the moment and maybe tests would help me relax (or at least find out something not quite right)
I have booked doctors for end of September as this will then be 6 months of trying after the MMC but considering if it’s worth just booking some private tests even if it’s costs a lot as guess NHS will still take a while to arrange after seeing the GP. Any help or guidance from anyone really appreciated 🙏🏻

I know quite a few of you know I've been waiting for reoccurring blood test results to come through from my appointment that happened mooonths ago.

I've just been diagnosed with high NK cells. Have to start taking pred asap. Sheeeeet.

@LuckyMoonstone well I know you suspected that it could be thyroid related. How are you feeling? It must be good to have some answers at least!

@emhope I totally feel you. I lost my last pregnancy in February and have had absolutely zilch ever since. It feels a bit scary to have tests done but actually, if there is something then you can get it sorted which can only be a good thing. And if there is nothing, then you have the reassurance of knowing that. For comparison it's taken me since my last miscarriage to get my results back on the NHS. You would get your results back probably within a month if you went private.

@Indianna2006 great to hear from you! How are you doing lady? 💕

@Lottylou2022 I also had a cyst with my 1st mmc. I had scans for retained products (I didn't have any) and could see it going down each scan so I think they are fairly common/normal. It sounds like you've had lots of tests done which is good! Did you have APS blood tests done as part of your blood work?

MrsCristiano · 06/09/2022 14:51

@TheBirdintheCave my WiFi here is awful. I think my phone is Brexit 🙄 yes we got them but I did the one I brought from home this morning and the line looked way too faint for 11dpo.bloody typical I knew I should not have mentioned it to DH. Ffs

Indianna2006 · 06/09/2022 14:55

@bunnykins123 yes I’m doing well thank you. Although lots of nausea and just generally very tired. But almost 7 weeks. But daren't think too much ahead tbh. Just doing day by day…too worried it will all be over any time soon! 🙈🙈

good news about getting blood results back. Does this mean the high NK cells could be reason for your recurrent losses? More than likely perhaps? I can’t remember if you had some chemicals or where abouts the losses were in terms of weeks. But hopefully the meds could do the trick?!

I know still getting pregnant is the first hurdle. But think NK cells can stop that happening eventually as well. Cos they get pretty good as like preventing it I guess?! Implantation etc. Anyway very annoying but potentially good news if it’s an answer 🤞🏼

@emhope in my experience. Falling pregnant 1st time often is fluke. Average time to conceive for healthy couples is 6 months. 5 cycles isn’t loads in ttc terms. But it is whilst your waiting and been through loss etc etc. i totally get that. If you feels tests help your anxiety. Get them done. Altho paying privately most likely won’t be cheap. And more than likely find nothing as you did conceive easily. It’s a personal choice. And it is so hard not to go worse case scenario every time. Sometimes it does just take time to fall again ✨
I waited 11 cycles. And paid for private tests on cycle 11. And bam. Was then pregnant. And never got the results or tests properly 😂🙈 And now this time have fallen way quicker. I should of trusted I knew I could get pregnent and it just takes time. But as I was nearing the year mark it started to worry me.

pangolin84 · 06/09/2022 14:58

Finding it hard to keep up with everyone on here! Things have been a bit crazy - I’m applying for a new job so somewhat distracted. It’s been quite nice to have that to worry about - not just TTC all the time. I guess it’s not ideal to be job hunting while TTC but I decided I can’t stay where I’m unhappy just in case I do get pregnant again.
9dpo today and this morning’s temp plummeted so wondering if AF with turn up early 😕 Not great.

LuckyMoonstone · 06/09/2022 15:00

@bunnykins123 it is good to know especially as it’s what I suspected, but I won’t know until I see the doctor again what can actually be done about it. It might only be moderate, they might not want to jump straight to medication. They might just give me something for my thyroid and not specifically for fertility/ovulation. What does your diagnosis mean? What’s pred?

MrsCristiano · 06/09/2022 15:05

Still lines on the ICs but waiting for the inevitable now.

@bunnykins123 I actually took 2 prednisolone day 8 and 9 I thought it might help the cramping. It did (sorry not sorry)

bunnykins123 · 06/09/2022 15:58

@MrsCristiano oh hun I'm sorry. Do you think it's a indent or possible chemical? I hope you're ok and it's not consuming your trip away. Omg hoooooow did you get hold of those?! 🙃 how did you feel taking them? Will you do it again? Questions questionsss!

@LuckyMoonstone that makes sense. Hopefully though they can give you something to help. Did they tell you what your levels are? It basically means my immune system is so good it attacks my sticky beans resulting in miscarriage. Pred (Prednisone) is the medication you take to reduce this which is basically a steroid. That in itself feels quite scary.

@pangolin84 could it be an implantation dip? I think it's quite common to get them at around 8/9dpo? I think you're doing the right thing job hunting - life is too short to be stuck in a job you hate!

@Indianna2006 glad you're doing well! When's your first scan? Yeh I suspect so. It makes sense though as with my 2nd loss, I had a headache and fever the night before I started bleeding which was probably my sodding immune system shutting that little one down. God knows how DD bypassed it! That's true, I have lots of questions and very little answers but I guess I have to trust the professionals!

LuckyMoonstone · 06/09/2022 16:10

@bunnykins123 ohh I see, that makes sense. That sucks though, hope you can get it under control! No the receptionist didn’t say anything, just that all was normal except thyroid (So still need to find out how abnormal we’re talking!) , and that I needed the liver test redoing. I think they always do liver tests again when it’s abnormal, to check. This is exactly what I had about 6 or 7 years ago, underactive thyroid & liver function (which often are related because of weight issues). I was just told to be healthier and that was it. I’ll be so mad if that’s all they tell me this time too, because I am losing weight! Also I wasn’t much lighter than I am now last time I got pregnant so it can’t just be a weight thing!

MrsCristiano · 06/09/2022 16:24

@bunnykins123 absolutely no bother but I did get an ulcer on my tongue... im still a little hopeful cheapies looking ok 🤞

Lottylou2022 · 06/09/2022 18:29

@emhope they were NHS tests.

@bunnykins123 yes I had numerous blood tests done. Everything seemed to come back normal

MrsCristiano · 06/09/2022 18:34

@bunnykins123 maybe indent? What yous think?

TTC after miscarriage thread 10
MrsCristiano · 06/09/2022 18:35

Also sorry for posting so many tests ☹️

FfayeN · 06/09/2022 18:35

@pangolin84 a temp dip at 9DPO could be implantation 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

FfayeN · 06/09/2022 18:39

@LuckyMoonstone I would make sure you check the results on the NHS app, you have to apply to get access to your medical record but it doesn't take long. It's bonkers that they aren't starting any treatment yet (my docs prescribed Levothyroxine straight away as it take a while to get the dosage right). Also make sure they know you're TTC as that changes the guidance levels of your TSH. Unless your liver function is related to the thyroid issue in which case that could be why you need to wait. 29sept though for a blood test...madness!

FfayeN · 06/09/2022 18:41

@MrsCristiano do you have a pic of the frer? Those IC aren't as good but I'd still think that was a line rather than an indent! I hope you're still managing to enjoy your hols xx

@Indianna2006 glad to hear you're still doing well (as can be!) 😘 xx

LuckyMoonstone · 06/09/2022 18:58

@FfayeN oh yeah they know TTC, I guess maybe they can’t just ring me up and say oh your thyroid is underactive here’s a bunch of meds, they need to see me to discuss. Oh it’s my next doc appointment that’s the 29th don’t worry! Blood test is either next Wednesday or the one after, I’ve already forgotten 😂 so annoying that I have to have it done again, I’ve already done it!
