@bunnykins123 I’ve ordered some as I have heard good things about them, but they won’t arrive til Wednesday so might be too late. But I’ll have them ready for next cycle (not that I want there to be a next cycle!)

bunnykins123 · 30/08/2022 07:20

@FfayeN I always thought the same! It feels like it goes on forever up there 😂

@LuckyMoonstone hopefully you won't need to use them but they might be helpful in giving better lines 🤞

Luna57 · 30/08/2022 08:46

@MrsCristiano 3dpo is definitely I record surely? 😂 I thought I was bad testing at 7dpo but sometimes you just need to get it out of your system 😂

@LuckyMoonstone yes I’ve heard the one step don’t show progression but the easy@home ones are grand, their pregnancy tests are good too they’re sensitive.

18dpo for me, no AF but CM is nearly all dried up and had no cramps for 2 days now. Never wished for AF so much in my life 😂

LuckyMoonstone · 30/08/2022 08:51

Absolutely sod all on OPK this morning 😤

ChloeN · 30/08/2022 13:55

Hey ladies, what vitamins do you all take? I’ve been reading loads and I don’t know what to go for!
I didn’t take any before conceiving the baby I lost, but now I’m thinking would it be sensible to look into taking some!
Ive been taking seven seas trying for a baby but i have heard mixed reviews! Been looking into DHA and COQ10 but not sure if that’s all a bit complicated and might do more harm than good!

curliegirlie · 30/08/2022 15:18

@Luna57 the One Step OPKs show progression perfectly well if you use them with Pre-mom, and their hcG tests are fine (10miu) as well.

bunnykins123 · 30/08/2022 16:36

@LuckyMoonstone ah boo. Hopefully you'll get more of a line later tonight 🤞

@ChloeN I take Severn seas ttc a baby, vitty d, aspirin and ubiqunol. I don't know much about DHA so can't comment on that one!

Mariabombia · 30/08/2022 16:43

Hey ladies,

Thanks for all your supportive msgs last week! Sorry to hear about some of your unsupportive family/friends. I've had some gems 'at least you know you can get pregnant', 'I don't have a clue what you're going through as I've never had a miscarriage', 'just try again' 🙄 but I've also had some really really good support and I'm sooo thankful for that.

I'm still up and down but definitely more up than I was! Managed to go see friends and family with children this bank holiday and I didn't struggle with it too much, which I would have done even before the mc when I was ttc, he so I'm quite impressed at my sanity levels right now 😂 Also one night last week I chose a random film to watch without really reading the synopsis and it ended up being something about ivf and infertility!! Bloody typical. Had to turn it off, it's like life is doing its best to remind me I'm childless arghh.

Anyway I do hope you're all doing well, best of luck if you're ttc this month. I think I'll be joining you guys next month 😬 just dreading AF whenever she arrives as I've heard the first one after mc is awful

Xx

Mariabombia · 30/08/2022 16:55

@ChloeN I did take coq10 for a while along with loads of other supplements for fertility but it was the month I just used a normal conception multivitamin I got pregnant!
Too many vitamins actually gave me the 💩s and one month I didn't ovulate which I blame on them haha.

Didn't rate the fertillly either! I think the best thing for me was literally not moving for half an hour after 😂 throwing your legs up & conception cups just end up being so messy!!!

theblueflowers · 30/08/2022 18:22

@ChloeN supplements can be so overwhelming. Like you, I wasn't taking anything before getting pregnant the first time, but with my subsequent miscarriage, and the fact that the months are going by and we're not conceiving, I have felt a bit more in control by adding in supplements- I now rattle!

I asked my consultant about supplements and his advice was folic acid and vitamin D are essential, but that most prenatal vitamins won't have enough of these in them, so you are better off taking them separately. My DH and I both take COQ10 under his recommendation as well, as it improves sperm and egg quality.

I take quite a few others as well, after reading 'It Starts with the Egg', and he pretty much told me not to bother, but I do think he's quite old school in his approach. The problem for me is now that I've started taking them I don't want to stop just in case!

ChloeN · 30/08/2022 18:34

@theblueflowers glad I’m not alone! Were any of your cycles impacted at all by taking the vitamins, that’s my only concern!

ChloeN · 30/08/2022 18:35

@Mariabombia @bunnykins123 thank you both! There’s so much info out there it’s hard to know what to go with!

theblueflowers · 30/08/2022 18:40

@ChloeN I haven't noticed my cycles changing for the worse, they have actually been the most regular I have ever had them, if a bit too long! I do have PCOS though.

AwayWeGoAgain · 30/08/2022 18:56

Oh @LuckyMoonstone how annoying!!!! I’m sorry the opks are messing you around 😤 hope your hormones sort themselves out soon and this cycle isn’t too long for you!

@ChloeN DH and I just took the pregnacare conception for her & him ones, sorry I don’t know anything about the other supplements!

@Mariabombia life just really sucks sometimes doesn’t it?! You sound like you’re doing really well though! I’m sorry people have been saying stupid things, I don’t think anyone really knows what to say! Try not to worry about your first af, it’s bad for some but might not be too bad for you (and it wasn’t for me!) just make sure you’re stocked up on pads and painkillers just in case! We’re here if you need support!

@theblueflowers That’s so interesting about the vitamins, might give that book a read! xx

ChloeN · 30/08/2022 19:14

@theblueflowers Im really regular but I read someone saying it ruined their regular cycles so that’s what I’m worried about!

TheBirdintheCave · 30/08/2022 19:36

Day nine of daily dtd now x_x I'm so tired of it but I'm too scared to stop in case I haven't O'd yet and I miss it like last month :/ I haven't had any pains so I have no idea what's going on but I don't have EWCM anymore either.

FfayeN · 30/08/2022 19:56

@TheBirdintheCave 9 DAYS!!! Crikey, I've done it 3 times in 6 days and I'm already over it 🤪. Well done you! I too have no idea what's going on...OPKs still very low and not much EWCM?! Hopefully not back to another late O, this time last month I'd had peak.
Could you go to every other day until you get peak? The SMEP method is what we're trying this month 🤞🏼 xx

MrsCristiano · 30/08/2022 20:29

@TheBirdintheCave you deserve a medal! Or a baby 🙏

theblueflowers · 30/08/2022 20:41

@TheBirdintheCave you absolute trooper!

@ChloeN it's so hard to know what is best for you; the internet is a great thing but can be so overwhelming, and you can always find an anecdote opposite to the one you want! Ultimately, I think you just have to be comfortable with whatever choice you make. You don't want to be stressed about it changing your cycles!

TheBirdintheCave · 30/08/2022 21:23

@FfayeN I don't do OPKs as they never worked for me when I was TTC my son so I'm totally in the dark 😂 I rely on the O pains and EWCM and it's let me down this month 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm afraid to do every other day as my husband has low sperm motility so I know we're fighting the odds anyway and am so desperate to make sure we get some swimmers up there the day before O.

I guess I will have to soldier on 😂

FfayeN · 30/08/2022 21:55

@TheBirdintheCave all I can say is well done you and ouch 🤣. My foof could not take it everyday 😂😂😂.
@ChloeN I take the same as @theblueflowers in terms of supplements. I don't take a multivitamin as I have auto-immune thyroiditis, apparently they're not recommended for that. xx

pangolin84 · 30/08/2022 22:40

@TheBirdintheCave wow that is impressive! We’ve only managed 3 times this cycle and I’ve come to the conclusion that my poor DH can’t DTD every day. I didn’t time it but I suspect the last effort was approaching the 45 minute mark 🙈

@ChloeN In terms of supplements, personally I take a general prenatal (pregnacare at the moment but I have heard it can lengthen some women’s cycles), an omega 3 supplement that contains DHA and EPA, and ubiquinol. I started taking the ubiquinol after my recent MMC as it’s supposed to improve egg quality and recommended if you’re over 35. I’ve heard mixed reviews of “it starts with the egg” - it’s good for the supplement info but apparently it can be a bit overwhelming (advises things like not touching receipts because of the toxins). I’ve downloaded the audiobook but a bit scared to start listening to it 😂

pangolin84 · 30/08/2022 22:48

According to Fertility Friend app and my temps I ovulated CD15 this cycle (will try to post screenshot). The weird part is that CD15 evening is when I first got a high reading on my cheapy OPK and CD16 morning got the static smiley. Based on the OPKs it seems unlikely I ovulated CD15 as the LH surge hadn’t happened yet?! Also my temps aren’t particularly impressive and they usually go higher (at least 36.6) so I’m not really sure what’s going on. Will see what tomorrow’s temp says. I’m new to charting so it’s a bit confusing sometimes… anyone with more experience got any thoughts?

FfayeN · 31/08/2022 05:53

@pangolin84 I'll be interested to know what others think but I am sure you O as a result of the first LH surge, so it could be possible you O overnight on the 15th?
I must add I don't temp, I used to get complaints of the thermometer beep from DH 🙄.

theblueflowers · 31/08/2022 07:34

@pangolin84 @ChloeN completely agree about the book- some of the lifestyle changes are ridiculously drastic so I ignore all of that- I like having painted nails! The supplements section though I did find interesting.
