Hi all,

There doesn't seem to be a thread for TTC whilst breastfeeding, so I thought that I'd start one. All welcome to jump aboard if that's your journey too, or offer tips and insights if you've managed to conceive whilst feeding a young one.

Chicken pox, @Billyv ? 😱 That's all you need! Good luck for your scan today x

@Mc3209 did AF turn up? Mine did this morning! Which means an LP of 14 days so I'm a happy bean. On to the next cycle for me. I hope you're not joining me!

Billyv · 23/11/2022 11:53

Just waiting at the EPU now with a paranoid fear of peeing my pants. Hate the full bladder thing. They are running late.

Yup full on chickenpox and no sleep. DP is going out to get some piriton to help with the itching.

Sorry about AF @Orangio but hooray for a 14 day LP.

Billyv · 23/11/2022 13:17

Well fuck me. Ectopic. Internal bleeding. Waiting for surgery.

I feel sorry for my DP looking after the sick child who will not sleep while I get a bed on a ward 😂

They put a camera in your belly button. I mean what the actual fuck 🤢

TulipVictory · 23/11/2022 13:29

@Billyv so sorry, all the best for a smooth recovery

Orangio · 23/11/2022 13:44

Oh @Billyv I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope it all goes smoothly and you get a good rest and a speedy recovery. I admire your ability to keep making jokes!

@Billyv I popped on to see how you're getting on and I'm so so sorry x

justwantobeamum · 23/11/2022 15:30

So sorry @Billyv wishing you a speedy recovery x

Billyv · 23/11/2022 15:40

Thank you guys! The waiting is tedious. I'm just sitting in a room in the outpatients dept at the moment as there's no bed on a ward. With a drip, kind of uncomfortable. DP has packed me a bag and my friend is bringing in though so I can charge my phone and listen to something at least or watch some TV

Mc3209 · 23/11/2022 16:41

Oh @Billyv , you hang in there. At least now you know, and you are in the right place to get it sorted. Camera through bellybutton is not as grim as it sounds, and fingers crossed you will have a quick and painless recovery.
Let your DH deal with chickenpoxy child. They will be just fine.
@Orangio hooray for 14 day LP! AF hasn't shown yet. I've got one FRER left from last cycle and if it doesn't turn up by tomorrow, I will test. So fed up of seeing negatives, so your way maybe the answer.

Mugascauld · 23/11/2022 20:46

Awh @Billyv ! At least you finally know and will have a resolution. Speedy recovery to you and your bub with the chickenpox

Billyv · 24/11/2022 01:35

I'm awake again! All good 👍

Mc3209 · 24/11/2022 02:25

@Billyv excellent news! Now put your feet up and have lots of rest.

Billyv · 24/11/2022 06:52

Guys, I get to lie in bed and eat yoghurts! 🙂

Mc3209 · 24/11/2022 07:20

@Billyv that's the spirit. I am so pleased you are keeping positive through this saga.

Well, I've got news.
😲BFP this morning!🎉
This opens a whole new level of anxiety about things sticking and progressing 😬🙈 Still in a bit of a shock.

Billyv · 24/11/2022 07:52

@Mc3209 that's amazing!!! V exciting. Gosh! What DPO are you?

Orangio · 24/11/2022 08:40

@Billyv that's amazing ❤️ Must be such a relief. Hope you recover easily and get home soon.

@Mc3209 wow! That is absolutely brilliant! Is it a good line? What dpo are you at?

Golaz · 24/11/2022 09:36

@Billyv gosh poor you. So sorry that you are going through this, but so impressed with how you’ve dealt with it all, from making sure you got all the right checks, and staying so realistic and positive ❤️

@Mc3209 congratulations!!!!! Such wonderful news 😍. I feel like we were due a bfp on this thread

xx

TulipVictory · 24/11/2022 10:36

Hello, so last month I had a chemical pregnancy. I ovulated a bit late and then had some pink spotting not long before my period was due. Got a faint positive the day my period was due then four days later full blown heavy bleeding (I'm never normally late).

Anyway, I tracked this cycle and I ovulated CD 17-18, it's now CD27 and I'd had no signs until just now where I kept wiping some pink, some brown, a bit more pink and then no more. Today would be about 9DPO. If this is implantation again then is it too late for the little bean to stick and is this why I had the chemical last time? Just to add my cycles are never any longer than 28 days 😬

Countingchicks · 24/11/2022 14:00

@TulipVictory I have a 28 day cycle (well I did before this baby was born, still waiting on return of period) and my ovulation was day 17/18 too. The eight month old sleeping upstairs is proof the short luteal phase is not an issue

TulipVictory · 24/11/2022 14:13

@Countingchicks oh great I hope that's the case for me, however, I've just wiped some more pink. I have a feeling AF may be coming a couple of days early

Orangio · 25/11/2022 07:25

I agree Golaz, definitely need some BFP vibes on here!
How you doing this morning @Billyv ?

Billyv · 25/11/2022 10:27

Hello. Yes ok thanks @Orangio processing the odd experience I guess, but generally alright. Not too much pain, surprisingly little I'd say 🙂it's odd not being able to pick up DS and I'm feeling a bit squeamish about having a shower later and changing the dressings. Can breastfeed ok with a pillow on my lap to support DS so that's nice. Also, he slept through!!! Which is basically a miracle as he's been awful all week with the chicken pox, I'd only had about 2hrs sleep on Tuesday night before the scan and about 3 the night I had surgery so definitely needed a proper night's sleep.

how are you @Mc3209 ?

Orangio · 25/11/2022 22:24

Sounds like it's all going pretty well then (considering) 😊 Glad you got some decent sleep!
Do you have to wait at all before TTC? Or maybe you don't feel ready anyway (sorry if that's an insensitive question - just tell me to wind my neck in if so).

Billyv · 26/11/2022 08:07

Yeah, I'm ok. I am feeling more sad about the whole thing now - not just the pregnancy, I didn't have much time to get attached, although that is contributing a little to the feeling of sadness - but the whole week was a mildly traumatic experience, the trip to a&e and my DS having cpox and barely sleeping, but especially the scan and then waiting by myself for 10hrs to go in for the op. Knowing DP was at home worrying.

I was feeding DS yesterday and he was gently touching my eyebrow, and I thought this other child might have done the same. If they'd been a real child.

I think we're going to put TTC on pause for 6m. I'd like to feed DS until he's 2ish at least, and although we'll never know what caused the ectopic, I'd like to up my chances of having a viable pregnancy next time by not bf and being fitter in general. Also, DS has been going through a particularly bad sleep phase and I'd like to get him sleeping more independently. When I had the BFP I was thinking, oh god it's going to be rough having morning sickness and a boy who doesn't sleep well.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/11/2022 13:01

@Billyv of course you're going to feel sad, it's a horrible thing to go through. I'm so sorry for you. Take care of yourself.

@TulipVictory sorry about yours too, it's not nice to get a positive test, and have it not work out.

@Mc3209 congratulations! How are you doing?
