TTC APRIL

RMS0209 · 29/03/2022 09:43

Hi!
Making a thread looking for some company/support
I'm currently going into cycle 4, trying to conceive baby 1.
Looking for others in similar situation.
Beginning to feel a bit deflated now, as I am sure many many others are too.
Trying some things different this cycle to hopefully get a BFP
•ordered an Ovusense core
•carrying on with my reflexology weekly
•Trying the SMEP method
•Hot water bottle after ovulation as I read someone else done on here
•carrying on with my supplements

Any other advice/recommendations/suggestions welcome

May April be the months of lots of BFP's 🌟.x

OH is all over me like a rash. In my head im like you're a week early!
I ovulated 4 days late after my chemical but my miscarriage had retained products so I was bleeding a lot but after removal I did ovulate at the normal time. I imagine it's different for everyone though xx

bennyandthejetz · 29/03/2022 20:58

@babyjellyfish hi 👋

My son is 14 months how old is your little one?

We are feeding 3 times during the day (feeding him to sleep for both his naps and before bed) and he still wakes probably 4 x a night for a boob too - bloody knackered. He's a terrible sleeper and I'm probably crazy for even considering another haha. I'd really like to keep feeding him til 16m if possible but will have to see how TTC goes. I feel guilty if I stop feeding him to try for #2!

Hopefully it happens quickly for us both 😍

Haha sounds like me if OH is being nice and it's not fertile week 🤣🤣

@bennyandthejetz Mine will be one next Thursday. I had to cut down to two feeds a day otherwise my cycle wouldn't have come back. But I have been back at work for a while already and he takes medication in the mornings which has to be taken on a full stomach so we cut out night feeds a while ago. I'm impressed that your cycle has come back at all given that you're still feeding a lot!

Nyxxie · 29/03/2022 22:13

Hi everyone, a few familiar names on here! Hope you don't mind if I join you. I am on CD1 of my 3rd cycle TTC our first.

The arrival of AF was extra disappointing this time as I had been experiencing quite severe nausea so was really getting my hopes up. I'm so sorry for those of you who have had losses, this TTC stuff is difficult enough as it is (and I've only been trying for a relatively short time). Fingers crossed for everyone that April is our month 🤞

mgdj · 29/03/2022 22:14

CD7 for me. Cycle was a lot shorter this month, normally 30-32 days but only 27 days this month so I have no idea when I’ll ovulate!

RMS0209 · 29/03/2022 22:23

@Nyxxie hi welcome 👋 💗

@mgdj I've been having random cycles too, how ideal a 28 day cycle ovulation on day 14 every month ha ha

OP posts:
mgdj · 30/03/2022 08:17

@RMS0209 that would be the dream haha! Mine have been a bit all over the place this year, hard to guess when I’ll actually ovulate!

RMS0209 · 30/03/2022 08:42

DAY 4 OF SPOTTING!! CD32, I just want AF here so I can get started for April Confused Sad

alwaysseeingstars · 30/03/2022 08:55

@MrsGrealish honestly it's so easy, the finger prick is just a tiny sharp jab and you don't even see the needle or anything - it really is the smallest little thing it took me 15 mins and 3 lancets to get enough blood out haha! Definitely agree with @MO22 about drinking and moving before, made it MUCH easier the 2nd time round! You do the progesterone one on around day 21 so that could work for you? Then the hormone one a couple of weeks later :) (IF this time isn't your month, of course!)

@Rhianne18 that's a great plan, good luck & let us know how you get on!

@Presently83 @Longbin and @MO22 sorry about your losses and how they've affected you Sad sending hugs

CD4 for me, bleeding from the chemical seems to be stopping now - just very light spotting. @RMS0209 gosh yes, a 28 day cycle and 14 day ovulation would be fab!

Hi to everyone new, and sorry if I've missed any comments :)

Hello47 · 30/03/2022 09:01

Hi @RMS0209,

Nice to see a few familiar people on here - hope everyone is okay. Let’s hope April brings lots of baby dust and joy.

Hoping I can join in! Trying for #2 since July 2021 but we’ve had 2 loses in that time. I’m trying to be a bit calmer this cycle because it’s all really getting to me. I’ve got some annual leave next week when I’m due to ovulate so that takes the pressure off a bit trying to fit dtd in!

Xx

MO22 · 30/03/2022 09:21

Morning everyone, so annoying @RMS0209 I hope it gets cracking today! After my MMC I spot now about two days before period and I read something about vitamin B helping with that? I'm no doctor but I slung it into my thousands of supplements I take on the regular.

A 28 cycle and ovulating on day 14 is my ultimate dream, I've tried everything to shorten mine but it just won't have it!

MrsGrealish · 30/03/2022 09:21

@alwaysseeingstars @RMS0209 ok I'm sucked in now..are the tests medichek?

I was scrolling though the fertility boards and saw something called Mira? Anyone know anything about this device?

MO22 · 30/03/2022 09:22

@Hello47 so sorry for your losses, I know exactly what you mean about trying to be calmer - would love not to be so obsessive (easier said than done!)

MO22 · 30/03/2022 09:23

@MrsGrealish I did medicheck which found thyroid problem out, and I'm going to get the progesterone day 21 (or my equivalent) one for this cycle I think! They did the job.

RMS0209 · 30/03/2022 09:29

@MrsGrealish medichecks yeah, I think they have 20% off until the end of March so good timing!
never heard of Mira? what is that?

@Hello47 hi! nice to hear from you again Smile

@MO22 yeah I normally get 2 days spotting then she appears but 4 days now and still no sign Sad

OP posts:
alwaysseeingstars · 30/03/2022 09:37

@MrsGrealish yeah the ones I've done are the Medichecks ones - progesterone and female hormone! I know they're not cheap but they do often have deals on and for me the peace of mind at least for the progesterone one is amazing, we'll see if I feel the same after the hormones results haha! Sorry, I've heard the brand Mira but not looked into it/seen any reviews...

@MO22 when you found out about the thyroid issue, did you just explain to your Dr about the test results and they did further? I've been wondering what I'd say to the Dr if mine did raise anything!

@RMS0209 how annoying! Hope it hurries up for you... it's so hard not knowing what's going on/when to expect anything.

MO22 · 30/03/2022 09:48

@alwaysseeingstars so I read a book in the throes of my madness after my miscarriage called "it starts with the egg" which says thyroid can be a cause. I got the medicheck full works female hormone thing and my TSH was at 8 (10 and above means you have underactive) and I have all the symptoms of underactive thyroid. I showed it to my GP who said I'd need to do another blood test on the NHS and if it was still high they'd give me a low level of the hormone. The NHS are a bit funny about treating subclinical hypothyroidism (which is between 5-10) but most literature says to conceive it needs to be optimal range of like 1-2. I think if you go in for IVF they make sure it's that range too first. I got 5 when I did the test again and they gave me the hormone, surprisingly, but I think she took pity on me as I've got PCOS and I was a bit miserable as all these things add up to make you gain weight, feel depressed etc. So was pleasantly surprised. I've got a blood test in June to see whether it's bought my TSH down.

Sorry an essay lol. I've become obsessed with hacking my health with supplements etc (fat lot of good it's done so far mind) so the next thing to obsess about it whether I'm actually ovulating hence the progesterone!

alwaysseeingstars · 30/03/2022 10:00

That's really interesting, thank you. I've had results that border on underactive thyroid on numerous seperate occasions (other health issues rather than TTC) but they've never felt the need to take it further - but having said that, I'm being investigated for a lot of different issues and I think all the Dr's involved are loath to point anything in one certain direction. I suppose if it came up with a similar result I can try to speak to the GP and say I've had previous NHS results similar so I'd like it looked into with regards to TTC rather than other issues!

I know what you mean, after years of health issues it really does make you analyse everything. And what better time to do that when TTC and your health is at the forefront of your mind!!

Hope you get the answers you want

Greedy7 · 30/03/2022 10:06

Hope you're all okay. I'm guessing some of you have been trying for a long time. It's heartbreaking every month when AF arrives just when you think this is my month. Please don't loose hope. Usually it happens when you least expect it.... new house or new job, something that takes your mind off it. It took me nearly 5 years to get pregnant with my daughter, she is now a healthy 7 year old. Never give up hope xx

MrsGrealish · 30/03/2022 10:13

@alwaysseeingstars seems like an enhanced OPK tester to me but think it checks oestrogen and progesterone levels too (urine not blood😅) Not too sure I'll look into later at lunchtime

Tiredteacher2507 · 30/03/2022 10:23

AF arrived today so looks like I'll be joining you for April! Got a positive in cycle 1 but then it ended in a very early miscarriage. Seems like a cruel joke that it happened so quickly at first and now it isn't happening at all. I think I might try the ovulation tests this time as I'm not sure I actually ovulated last month. I also have some symptoms of pcos so I'm not sure if/when to see the gp because I just know they are going to be dismissive.

alwaysseeingstars · 30/03/2022 10:25

@MrsGrealish ooh do let me know if it sounds useful :)

@Greedy7 thanks for the optimistic view, definitely helps me and the other ladies I'm sure to hear of positive stories after struggling!!

RMS0209 · 30/03/2022 11:44

Hi @Tiredteacher2507
So sorry to hear your sad news Sad
I like the ovulation tests.
What symptoms of PCOS do you have? I'm just curious, with a very over active mind!

@Greedy7 It's reassuring to hear a positive story, definitely gives hope!

@Tiredteacher2507 sorry to hear about your early miscarriage. I use the purple CB ovulation tests, I have to use them each month as I never know when I'm actually going to ovulate to to irregular cycles, I find them really useful. I think it's always worth mentioning to your GP if you're worried, however I understand it's difficult when you feel like they're not going to take you seriously.
