TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

i bet you cant wait to your scan mine is on thursday cant wait either a bit nervous as i think its a trans vag and the thought of someone looking at my bits again is so off putting

ive just found this site,

just wanted to ask anyone if they've been prescribed clomid with cysts. I mean i have severe endometrisis and the left ovary is blocked and dissapeared somewhere and now the specialist has told me that my right ovary i have a cyst ...but the clomid info warns against using it if you have cysyts already, im freaking out abou the side effects and im scared to take after months and months to get to this point of actually something being prescribed to start the whole process now im scared to take it. Can it damage your ovary? ive only got the one left????? : (

Wondered whether there was anyone out there will polyps or fibroids? We have been ttc now for over 2 years with no luck, just finished 6 month course of clomid but no success. To be honest, trying to work out exactly when to have timed sex has become tiresome and taken the edge off spontaneous bed action! Anyone else agree?? Had a D & C last year and am waiting for another one to clear polyp and shrink fibroid. Conceived first child within 2 months. Don't understand why this is happening now. Am 37 and feel that time is running out.

Am sympathetic to all your stories as am going through it all myself. So nice to be able to talk about it.

i am very sorry to read your stories i am afraid i dont have any advice on cysts or fbroid as i dont know anyone who has them sorry.

my best friend does have bad endometrisis and has had no luck ttc but she is going to have ivf as its the only left to do for her

i had no problems conceiving my first child so when i was having problems i could not believe it!!!

i am only 23 so i dont think it matters what age you are which is so hard to take in .
i am 6 weeks pregnant but i am feeling alot more nervous than the first

Nebulla, I also have severe Endometriosis. Have had 2 ops to clear adhesions but am having to have another soon as it is allllll over my bowel and about 3 months after each op my ovaries get frozen together I'm waiting to take 3rd month of clomid and also have choc cysts!!!

Hi Duncangirl... I agree with you re cycle. Although am still waiting for AF and it is day 37 today BUT took test yesterday and it was negative so am thinking I realyl didn't ovulate this month. Just want it to start so i can start teh clomid again.

Dungungirl, I too used the clearblue fertility monitor and thats when I realised I wasn't ovulating, cos as soon as I started clomid, bang, my levels had shot up and the pee stick showed straight away that I was ovulating! So at least I know the tablets are def working and it's just a matter of time. I did find when I was on the tablets I used to get really down and it was hard to think any good thoughts. Just can't wait to have my op and get back on clomid again. Hearing everyones stories has made me positive again.

Hi Curlysue...welcome to our board! What a coincidence that you too had the same experience as I did. However, didn't they say in the instructions that once on clomid that you will get false results on the monitor? Sorry to hear about the fibroids...I must say I do not know anything about that condition so can't really help.

Now update!!!!!!!!
I went to my first fertility clinic appointment yesterday. A bit of a let down as I was expecting to get the ball rolling straight away but unfortunately....it was merely a booking in appointment ( which they didn't make clear to me! ).

So it was merely taking weigt/height and discussing medical history blah blah blah with a nurse.

I have been told I know have to have one more blood test as the Gp got one wrong . DOHH! And I have to have about 1-3 scans next week to try and see if I am in fact ovulating. Also have to have a clamydia test...WHY?????? And hubby has to have a sperm test( Which we knew but he has been putting off - coward! )

So that's where I am.....the nurse did however seem quite positive that they would give me something as soon as all the tests are done.

Sambrads!!!! Hold on to those clomid pills! If after the next appointment they refuse me something.....drastic measures........you might have a customer!

Anyway....hope everyone is well. Got to run !

Meant to say that I understand your frustration! I had the same experience...I conceived DS on the 3rd cycle.

Now after a year of trying....nothing.

They reckon I may have polycycstic ovaries...

I think after having a child...even that can muck things up! My hormones are all over the place. And DS is 3 years old. So they have had 3 years to settle down but haven't.

Here's keeping fingers crossed for us all.

when i spoke to doctor about not being able to concieve and she said my horamones were all over the place as well since having ds which was 16 months ago!!

all being well this time next month you will be on clomid

I'm still waiting for AF, on day 38 now but have had cramps for about 1 week now. BFN on Sunday

I want to start taking 3rd dose of Clomid... Went for 2nd session of acupuncture last night. Only 4 needles. One in my right wrist, 3 in stomach and one in ankle. He left me in a darkened room and put some music on and told me to relax, which I woudl have done had one of the needles not been stuck through the arm of my jumper so when I pulled my sleeve up it came pinging out and I laughed so hard. I did tell him that it was often hard for me to relax. It was so funny Sorry to bore you. What he told me was that chinese medicine was all about making my body a fertile environment for the fertilised egg to want to bury away and stay in (it kind of made sense)..

I want some Clomid!! Ha ha, I gotta stop gatecrashing threads I'm hoping my doc will gimme some after being diagnosed with PCOS on Monday. Will I have to wait a year or will he just give it to me?

i think they will give you it fruitloop as you now have PCOS and they know it so they know you need a bit of help!!

Yeah i'm sure they will give it to you. They're meant to be helping you and Clomid would do that so they should give it to you. Like we've all said before: BE STRONG and quite forceful about the management and treatment of your own health and future!!!

Absolutely, a few tears and histerical gasps for breath should do it. Although to be fair, it is not fair that they have the right to play god! God himself has messed it up sufficiently for us lot so why the hell should they have a 2nd go at it.. of course unless it works (whatever they give you).
