TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

Well depends where I am after an operation. They settled down to 33ish.

WELL BASED ON A 33DAY CYCLEE YOU SHOULD BE GETTING YOUR BLOODS TESTED 23RD DAY OF CYCLE I ONLY OVULATED ON DAY 21 SO DAY 20 WOULD HAVE SHOWED I DID NOT OVULATE!!!!!

And your ovulation was on Clomid? My doc made out that if clomid was doing its thing I would have ovulated dead on day 21... is that not true? Thank you for talking with me..

I HAVE A FEW LIGAMENT PAINS AND TIRED BUT THATS ABOUT IT!!

I AHVE NOT OVULATED IN 8 MONTHS!!

IT MUST HAVE BEEN THE CLOMID OR JUST LUCK!

FOR THE PAST 8 MONTHS EVERY 21ST DAY OF MY CYCLE I WOULD GET BLOODS CHECKED TO SEE IF HAD OVULATED!!!

EVERY TEST SAID NO !!

SO THE MONTH I WAS ON CLOMID I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE IF IT WORKED. I GOT BLOODS DONE 20TH DAY AS 21ST DAY WAS A SATURDAY

WHEN DOC PHONED I WAS GUTTED SHE TOLD ME TO START SECOND ROUND OF CLOMID WHEN PERIOD ARRIVED!!!

WHEN IT DID NOT ARRIVE I DONE 2 TESTS BOTH POSITIVE !!
I WAS IN SHOCK THAT WAS SAT NIGHT SO I PHONED THE OUT OF HOURS DOC AS I WAS GOING NUTS!!!

I SPOKE TO HER AND SHE SAID I WAS PREGNANT AND BECAUSE MY CYCLES ARE 32 DAYS LONG THE BLOOD TEST WOULD NOT HVE PICK UP MY OVULATION!!

SHE SAID BLOODS ARE CHECKED DAY 21 AS ITS BASED ON AN NORMAL WOMEN HAVING A 28 DAY CYCLE !! HOW MANY OF THEM DO YOU KNOW??

SO IF I WERE YOU I WOULD HAVE SEX RIGHT UP TIL DAY 23 OF YOUR CYCLE AND SPEAK TO YOUR GP!!!
WHAT WAY ARE YOU WITH CLOMID???
I AM ALWAYS HERE TO TALK AND GIVE ANY ADVICE I KNOW!!![GRIN]

This was my second cycle of clomid. I have some high pain just under rib cage in the middle so think AF will be here shortly. No other signs. Have been prodding boobs but cos it looked like I hadn't ovulated I'm not expecting much luck. Will be going onto 3rd cycle of Clomid at 50mg then moving up to 100mg the next month. xx

Ooh had the acupuncture last night, it was really strange. The guy who does it was lovely and really put me at ease. He said he has a lot of women with different gynae problems that he helps.

So, when are you off to the docs? You must be so excited.

It also makes me happy to know that I have been probably doing the right thing having baby-making-sex right up to ay 23 of my cycle!

I am off to the clinic next Monday and I can't wait!!! Ohhhh how wonderful!

I've just ordered my next batch of clear blue tests from boots.com, ooh the exciting thing is you get one test free. WHOPPEE...

thats what i got too!!!!!

i decided to do the free test well as it was free and ended up doing my double pack of clear blue tsets hahahaha

Did any of you ladies...just out of interest...tried using the clearblue fertility monitor?

I was using it for the first 5 months of TTC and that's what alerted me to the fact that something was not right! I was never getting a PEAK reading ( this happens when the LH surge happens before ovulation ).

So..the monitor hasn't been any use to me....saying that though....if it wasn't for the monitor...I would have never been the wiser to my problem!

i am going next thursday for a scan a week tomorrow cant wait!!

i never used a fertility monitor as i could not afford it at the time but i heard they are very good!!

My AF is due around now, BUT not sure exactly when. I am expecting it to start due to Progesterone level being so low day 20

Just want to start next dose of clomid now.

My new acupuncturist has given me a few clues. I've been on antibiotics for over a year now for skin problems (skin flared up follwoing first op for Endo) and I have come off them because long use can not help fertility and my innerds . I've made the decision that I can sort my skin out (which incidentally is fine) after I have a baby and that the baby trying comes first.

Oh come on AF...... or maybe not? Will wait til Saturday..

its strange when you are ttc you dont want your period to come but when you are on clomid and know you have not ovulated you are checking every 5 minutes haha

Pink.....playing the waiting game on AF as well !
Every month I think positive that hey! maybe this month will be the month it happens, but I doubt it.

I chart temperature every morning and my temps dropped today quite a bit which probably means I'll get my AF in the next 2-3 days. Sighhhhh.....

Obviously when/if I get given clomid ( hopefully on Monday!) then I'll get to join the madness. I'll be depending on you guys for what's normal and what's not!

Ohhhhh.....I have this feeling inmy gut tthat they are going on insist on a million more tests before they decide.

I am running out of patience....

You muct insist on being given it. Explain to them that you feel it is cruel that they have the ability to play with your ability to have children.. If that doesn't work, use a hormonal imbalance as an excuse and kick off.

Well, I have a 32 day cycle ( ordinarily anyway! ) and I retook the blood test on day 24 of my cycle and got my results today.

Blow me down it seems they are normal??? I am really confused now....or maybe this month I did ovulate for once!

However, my luteal phase was REALLY short this month - only 5 days!!!! Even if I had a fertilised egg it wouldn't have had time to implant before I got my period today

So yeah....you definitely need a later blood test.

dungungirl you have to insist they give you clomid no matter what !!
i cant believe how good it worked even though i had my doubts at the start .

i was on ebay and people actually sell them i have got 2 months left i could sell them.

i got my bloods done on day 20 far too early so pink tell them your cycle is 32 days long not an average 28 days
