Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

ernest! what are men like!!!!!!

welcome oops! glad you decided to join the clan!

moschops......sorry wasn't around to chat this morning...in the land of nod!

GOOD MORNING TO EVERYONE!

My persona had a red light today but only cd7 (it doesn't have enough info....only started it 2 days ago!)....So the start of another month!

So........who is ready to test.....come on we need another BFP!

Twiga · 20/11/2004 09:33

Good morning all! View from my window is a perfect winter postcard - three inches of snow sparkling in sun, blue sky with just the hint of more snow to come.......

Hester, sorry your trip to the epu was so hard, I remember having to wait alongside happy couples and obviously pg women when waiting to confirm my mc in July - thankfully a vey kind nurse found me a separate room to wait in to see the doc afterwards. Hope you are feeling better today {{{hug}}} x

Jeddah, Happy Birthday for thursday gone, hope you had a great day.

Ernest, sorry about your bfn, lets hope it was too soon, especially as you're late.

CD25 here, chest still sore and been feeling a bit off colour for last couple days - could well be lack of sleep though as kids at home played up something chronic on last shift and only got an hours sleep on a 24hr shift - need to be pg so I can escape the whole shift thing, really enjoy my job but with dh a dr and on shifts too it's a bit crap sometimes, plus I want to be able to sleep at home every night of the week. Have decided to go into town this morning to find new boots, poor old dms have no tread left which could prove lethal with the snow and all. Take care all, catch up later.........

Twiga · 20/11/2004 09:34

Oh, and welcome ooops, hope your stay here is short +++++++++++

Twiga · 20/11/2004 09:40

Hey, has anyone else noticed the personalised welcome at the top of the board - just noticed this morning, how nice

moschops · 20/11/2004 10:14

morning girls!!

hope everyone is well and in good spirit!

lol Jeddah i wasn't expecting anyone to be around to chat.....it was a desperate sleep deprived thought!!!

i went and tried to sleep in the spare bed about 3.30 but just lay awake listening to dp sleeping in the next room. at 4.30 i finally started to feel drowsy so i crawled back in bed next to dp and fell asleep straight away. he says that 15 mins later he woke up!!! (not unusual for him to wake at that sort of time) he decided he might disturb me if he stayed in bed so he got up....bless him.

anyone got plans for the weekend? i'm off into town to try and do some xmas shopping, and then home to do housework and snuggle on the sofa with dp and the dog. all the rooftops are frosty this morning, and i keep sticking my head out of the window because it smells nice....

Hulababy · 20/11/2004 10:18

Twiga - I noticed that this morning. I thought it was nice, but couldn't be sure!

CD19 here, think I may have OVd on CD17 this month. It was CD18 month 1, CD15 last month. Is it supposed to keep changing???

jeddah · 20/11/2004 11:13

yes hula......ov can keep changing! mine is:

cd17
cd22
cd21
cd19
cd20
cd22
cd21
cd12!!!!!!!

they say that ov can change but LP should stay the same every month.........not so sure of this though?????

Where is everyone this morning?

jeddah · 20/11/2004 11:20

Ah!...I was just looking at the 'meet up' thread!

Wouldn't it be great if we could all meet up in the new Year???????....say ...somewhere central to us all??????
What does everyone think?

jeddah · 20/11/2004 11:22

Sorry just realised that this would be difficult for the ones 'Down Under'

Perhaps we could have 2 meet ups ....one in the UK and one 'down Under'????????

It would be great for meet each other......stay a night in a hotel, dinner, few drinks, lots of chat!

moschops · 20/11/2004 11:22

i'm here......crying....for the first time in years me and dp have just had a stupid row.

i don't know what happened to me, he's trying to put a new battery on the van and he can't because he can't get the old one out (bolt has rusted) i complained that as the battery was 'quite' important the garage should check we can get it out to change it. he muttered something at me and i totally lost it, i stormed to the front door, threw a bottle of coke on the floor and slammed the door behind me.

i NEVER act like this, what the hell just happened.....sorry needed to get that off my chest. ignore me i'll be better in a bit

jeddah · 20/11/2004 11:46

moschops.......our bloody hormones have got a lot to answer for!!!!

I have been the same all last month.... very sensitive...my dh thinks he has married a right nutter!.....I thought it was because I may be pregnant.......but it wasn't just put it down to hormones...I know they get blamed alot....but I really do think...they cause a lot of equalibrium.

It helps if you explain to your dp how you feel.

jeddah · 20/11/2004 11:46

unequalibrium even!

BeckiF · 20/11/2004 12:12

Can someone tell me if ewcm looks clear and is stretchy or should I expect it to be off white and should it last more than a day???

geordie · 20/11/2004 12:40

Becki

ewcm is clear and tretchy...sometimes a little streaked. I get a day of streaky ewcm...followed by a day or two of clear then it goes streaky and gets stickier then creamy etc TMI!!! that's my pattern. some women get clear watery cm instead of egg white and you can have multiple patches of fertile mucus before and after o.

HTH

BeckiF · 20/11/2004 13:15

Thanks Geordie - I had just one day of it when I also had an almost positive OPK combined with stabbing pains low on the left side. I've entered all this info on FF which says I may of ovulated but as I haven't entered any + OPK results it tells me I may not of. We did at least bd on what was probably my most fertile day (2 days ago) and couldn't get round to it last night. So today I am thinking that I may of missed our chance

RudyDudy · 20/11/2004 13:36

Hi all

Sorry to hear about all those who are all over the place atm with hormomes, temperemental DHs and the like Though I have to say that is one of the reasons that I love MN and this thread in particular. When all that stuff is going on it is so nice to have a place where you know that everyone completely understands what's going on for you - especially if those closest to you can't / don't / won't!

Would definitely be up for meet up Jeddah - lovely idea and really nice to put real people to names. Do we know where we all are, or are we literally all over the country (and world!)? I'm in SW London.

Where are the weekend testers hiding??? Hope you're all somewhere celebrating and not entertaining the dreaded AF.

CD5 here and nothing exciting going on. Probably still another 16 days until OV but in the meantime will do some practice BD!

Am preparing myself for a houseful of 1 year olds as we are having a mini party for my antenatal group. Will be noisy and chaotic but tonight the adults are off out for dinner which should be more relaxing!

RudyDudy · 20/11/2004 13:37

Jeddah - happy belated birthday! Sorry I missed it on thursday . Did you have a good one?

ernest · 20/11/2004 13:44

i've just popped in 4 quick hello. still no news either way - no af, managing to hold off testing til tomorrow, but not think it's gonna be a bfn. I've lost all my feeling positive feelings. but strange that I'm late as never am, just checked in my old diary, and the longest cycle I've ever had is 25 days, had a coupl eof 18's but 99% exactly 25,

RudyDudy · 20/11/2004 13:45

what CD are you today ernest?

jeddah · 20/11/2004 13:58

rudydudy thanks had a quiet bday...off out tonight for dinner party with another 4 couples to celebrate

Perhaps I will start a stats thread for where we all are living (area...not address!). Then if we decide to meet in the New Year we will have a rough idea where somewhere central might be....though have a feeling that it may be difficult.....no harm in trying though!

RudyDudy · 20/11/2004 14:43

Good idea for the stats thread jeddah -have added mine. I am more than happy to travel somewhere on the promise of nice food, wine, laughs and a stay in a nice hotel DH and I worked out this morning that since DS he has had at least 12 nights away or on his own (when DS & I went on holiday with my mom) and I have had precisely 0! So think it is time to rebalance this a little...

jeddah · 20/11/2004 15:05

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!! rudydudy........for those of you with children, it will be even more of a treat!....hope we can get it together.

jeddah · 20/11/2004 18:06

I think 3 hrs is the longest that no one has posted....
WHERE IS EVERYONE?????????

For those of you who have missed my last post, I have set up a thread for areas where we all live...to see if we can arrange a 'meet' in the new year.

berolina · 20/11/2004 18:20

Oh Hester, I'm sorry about your horrible experience. They are like that, aren't they, I know they see this kind of thing all the time but one would have thought they'd realise what a tragedy it is for the woman concerned and try and be a bit more sensitive. When I miscarried very early on in the summer I went straight to the hospital with my bleeding. I was seen in the labour ward (! - they don't have EPUs out here in Germany). The doctor gave me a pg test - which was negative again already - and kind of shoved it in my face as if he didn't quite believe I had been pregnant. He was looking a bit scornful and slightly surprised that I was crying - his whole attitude was 'what are you making a fuss about' somehow. He then asked me how old I was and then said how young I am and that I can have more! I wanted THAT one though... it would have been due around my birthday next March and although I'm now happily pg again and things are going well and I want this new baby so much and wouldn't give him/her up for the world, I know I'm going to feel a pang when my birthday comes around. Thinking of you - be good to yourself and I am sure you will find the strength to try again. Big hug. xxx

jeddah · 20/11/2004 18:21

No one is around tonight....so I am off, just getting ready to go out for dinner at a friends house.........she is 5 months preggers after trying for 1 month!!!!!!! and another couple will be there, who are 7 months preggers after trying for 3 months! and another couple who have an 18 month old.........I'll be sat there, like a right old infertile knacker!

Anyway, nothing that a few G+Ts wont't mend!, just hope they talk all night about babies!
