Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

Yes Oops do want to join a "due in August" thread but feeling a little superstitious and may to wait until next year to join

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 16:44

(hugs) hester; you've been through a lot and I guess your body may just need a month or two to get back to normal. Fingers crossed.

Becki. I also have a FF chart this month which tells me I didn't OV so kind of know how you fel. Mine's only month 3 this time round though, so I know I have a way to go before reaching the average conception time even.

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 16:46

Congratulations Ooops! Well done you

alterego · 29/11/2004 17:03

Fertility friend told me several times that I hadn't ovulated even though on at least two occasions I then got pregnant - so it's not infallible. My temps were up and down two, cm not always present, but OPKs have done the trick. Now I'm using Persona.

Just a quick question - Persona showed an egg symbol on days 15 and 16 of my cycle (egg means you will ovulate in the next 1-2 days). By coincidence my cm was very noticeable this month - very eggwhite on day 15, slightly less on day 16. I thought that would mean I actually ov'ed on day 15. Or is the eggwhite cm also showing you are going to ovulate in 1 or 2 days time?

hester · 29/11/2004 17:09

alterego - ewcm shows you you are going to ovulate within a few days. You will get it from before you ovulate until you ovulate, and this could be a few days long (anyone know the longest it could be? I'm assuming anything from 2-5 days is normal). Your Persona shows you that you are going to ovulate in the next day or two. So you got both signs together this month, but many women would find their ewcm comes first. The trick is to start BDing as soon as you get ewcm - even though you haven't ovulated, if you have ewcm the sperm can get up there and wait for your egg to arrive.

I expect you ovulated on day 16. HTH.

Miaou · 29/11/2004 20:42

Hi there folks. Ernest, thanks for the link re working out my due date - off to follow that up in a minute! And sorry for introducing you to my onion fetish, just don't say "hhhhhhello" to anyone and you'll be ok!

Twiga, you're right about my location (remote island in Scotland) but I'm afraid they won't airlift me when I'm in labour (they won't take anyone in labour in a helicopter) - I will have to go off to Inverness for a couple of weeks before the baby is due .

CM, you followin' me, girl??!! Yes I have been busy building my website, but when the power goes off (as it frequently does.....)

colinsmommy · 29/11/2004 21:04

Not stalking you m'dear, I am now officially TTC. (Hopefully sooner than later, since biggest problem is DH going back and forth whether he is too old to have another.)

jeddah · 29/11/2004 21:06

girls not had time to read all posts yet.

HESTER.......an anteverted uterus is normal!!!!! and the pillow under the bum is a perfect position for the sperm in an anteverted uterus!

Sorry about AF Earnst and munnzieb
Miaou & Oops big congratulations...oops can you send your dh to Australia for me please
Hula I'll be drinking with you girl and having a huge pig out day on xmas day mmmmm looking forward to that.
Hester hope your feeling better today.
Sweetfudge Best of luck with this insemination really hope it works this time. Shit it sounds so frustrating.
Can i ask a personal question why do you have to do it that way does you dh have an extreamly low count???? And is the donor a stranger or a friend??? you dont have to answer.
BeckiF sorry you are feeling so down, angry and frustrated with everyone but regardles of how long we have been ttc or if we have a child/en already we are all here for each other and are all frustrated as each other. Hay i didnt ov this month either and now i have to deal with 2 of my friends having their babies in the next couple of weeks and put on a brave face while going through an operation on the 15th of December.

Hulababy · 30/11/2004 08:54

CD29 today so AF due any minute really. Have had some mild cramping and feeling groggy so suepect it shouldn't be long. Messed up my temps this morning too so that doesn't help me.

Tania2 · 30/11/2004 08:58

Oooh Hula hope af doesnt arrive fingers crossed.

marinda · 30/11/2004 09:11

Hi girls! big hugs to everyone. Waiting for AF myself - due today or tommorrow - had AF symptons- just wish she would hurry up and arrive !
Congtatulations oops!0

hester · 30/11/2004 09:42

Ooh Hula... doesn't sound good but you never know (remember my, 'I know I am definitely not pg' protestations, just before I was? I am never trusting my body again!).

Tania - I'm feeling loads better today, thanks. Reason is - I seem to be ovulating! VERY happy that it didn't skip a month, though very aware that I have convinced myself I will get pg again instantly, as a consolation prize. Wish me luck!

Oops - thank you for remembering that I am first in queue for your super-fertile dh. If anyone tries to nick him, be warned; I'll make the first day at the Harrods sale look like a vicarage tea party

Jeddah - yes yes yes, oops is about my favourite person in the world this morning! Obviously she is some kind of uber-fertile goddess, and not comparable to us mere mortals, but I'm hoping that mere cyber-proximity to her may rub off on us! And thanks so much about the uterus thingy - I was so expecting to be a freak, and am delighted to be normal! I'm growing rather fond of my womb; when I had an HSG they told me it was lovely and glossy and a rather fine specimen and I now see it as the Julia Roberts of uteri Let's hope it's functional as well as decorative....

Btw, where is Shely?
