Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

Evening all

Nothing exciting to report here but just thought I'd pop in and say hi.

Also, to alert everyone to Jeddah's 'meet up' thread. I think she's determined to get us all organised so get on over and put your info in. Just think of having something lovely in your diary to look forward to you in the new year!

Hope all are well. Thinking of the weekend testers xxx (and the rest, of course!)

Hulababy · 21/11/2004 20:40

THanks jeddah. FF still hasn't detected OV for me. I'm on CD20 today. Temp went up .2 on CD18, went down .1 on Cd19 and down again by .1 today. Confused, but I do think I have had EWCM a couple of times or so.

Regards the LP - month 1, according to FF, I OVd on CD18 of a 28 day cycle (LP = 10 days). Last month I OVd on CD15 of a 27 day cycle (LP = 12 days). So finding all this confusing now. TBH I wonder whether my body is still settling down after coming off the pill.

This is this month and last month's charts

I am considering trying OPK next month as well just to check if I am actually OVing. But they are so expensive - are they pretty accurate does anyone know?

RudyDudy · 21/11/2004 20:47

Hi Hula - can't help with opks I'm afraid. I'm using persona but have learnt from Sallie that the sticks can double as opks. Though persona is not a cheap option either.

How's your weekend been? Hope you've been doing lots of celebrating! Are you moving far? I used to live near Endcliffe Park and have v. happy memories of that area.

jeddah · 21/11/2004 20:48

hula about OPKs....sometimes they are frustrating to read....is it dark...is it dark enough???? one day quite dark....next day gone!
and they are £20

To be honest...I would go straight for a persona monitor....as it reads it all for you and you can get a great deal on ebay....loads for sale the sticks are £9.99 per month once you get goung!

jeddah · 21/11/2004 20:50

thanks rudy for your plug!

RudyDudy · 21/11/2004 20:51

well jeddah, you can take the girl out of marketing...

Hulababy · 21/11/2004 20:57

Rudy - our house is the opposite die of the roundabout to Endcliffe Park - so very close. Feels kind of strange. WE're going to go and see it again in a couple of weekends. BIL is coming too as he's a surveyor. Going to take lots of measurements, etc.

Spent most of today in town waving to Bob the Builder and Wendy though - he was turning on the lights here

Really not sure I want to have to pay out £10 a month if I can avoid it - seems so expensive May in a few months if things haven't sorted themselves out into a nice pattern...

munnzieb · 21/11/2004 22:37

does anyone know how tania is? (or have I not read far enough down) wasn't it her DS b'day coming up?

Twiga · 21/11/2004 23:02

I was wondering about that too Munzie, will I CAT her and say hi from us lot?

Twiga · 21/11/2004 23:30

Ok, have sent a CAT.....

CD26, chest not really sore any more but been feeling sick on and off last few days - knowing my luck it'll be a bug.

Tania2 · 22/11/2004 02:35

Oh Munnzieb and Twiga thank you for thinking of me you made me feel so loved . Twiga i havent got your cat, does that just come through my email???
Sorry i havent been around i just have been so busy and dh is always using the pc latley
Ds's birthday is this friday having a party on Wednesday so really been out organising that gee its only a 2yr olds party but so much organising????
Hula congrats on getting the house it looks really good, nice place to start a family
CD7 here dont know if i have oved yet tried to bd yesterday but (TMI WARNING) very dry???? whats with that??? surely i havent oved then if i have no cm at all?? been feeling sick the last two mornings so not interested in morning BD either. AND guess what ds is sleeping in his own bed through the night since last sunday night hence the reason to start trying to bd in the morning cause thats meant to be better right?? have my appointment for the gyno tomorrow dont know what he is going to do other than empty my purse and fill out paper work for my op on the 15th which i hope i dont need.
Question??? my friend lost a tube and a ovary from a tube pg thing (cant remember what its called) does that mean she ov's every second month or does the other ovary compincate??? and does anyone know what you can use as lube that wont harm dh's swimmers????
Hope you are all well. Sorry for not being here for you all when you are down. Looking out for some BFP soon i hope.
Miss you all
Love Tan

munnzieb · 22/11/2004 08:09

morning tan, I only have one ovary myself, (the tube was all twisted up and the ovary was completely dead ) and I asked the docotr the same question i've had the same answer twice in two different practices (one being a gyno spec. dr) both said the remaining one would compensate for the missing one. I am slightly concerned however it will mean going thru the menopause earlier, but the dr seems to think theres no link to show those with only one do have that problem. I suspect thou it will take a few months for the one remaining OV to realise his buddy isn't there after bing on the pill for so long, so at the minute I think i'm every other month, thou i've not had anyone confirm that.

Hulababy · 22/11/2004 08:17

CD21 here; FF has now decided that I OVd on CD17. So 4 DPO. LP has been 10 and 12 days so far.

However despite OV being CD17, I seem to have had EWCM since then too (also had it before). Is this normal? Only has one brief time of EWCM last month - just before OV.

Twiga · 22/11/2004 09:07

Morning all, hi Tania, good to see you - CAT may not have reached you yet as it depends on one of the mn team being around to fwd and/or depends on whether or not you have allowed emails as part of your profile. Great news about ds sleeping through, hope that means you're getting more sleep too, when not otherwise occupied . Sounds like ds is in for a fab birthday!

Hula, not sure of the answer to your question but think it's ok and not anything to worry about.

CD27 feeling sick but may be bug as feeling crampy like af coming - been feeling really strange this past week - even if it is just af on way the good news is my cycle might be reverting back to normal 28-30 days instead of 37, so probably shouldn't complain too much. Af due from tomorrow or from 1st/2nd Dec depending on which cycle length i use - should I just wait until have no af past 37 days before testing, can't keep facing "early" bfn.

tooks · 22/11/2004 09:52

Hi,
I posted last week, having just had a faint positive. Today, despite feeling more pg than ever am getting some pink discharge - have just done another test and its negative. I am in bits...

moschops · 22/11/2004 10:13

awwww Tooks bless you (((hugs)))

i don't know what to suggest other than you should make an appointment with your GP.

is it the same kind of pregnancy test as the last one you used, or a different brand?

thinking of you xxxx

BeckiF · 22/11/2004 10:16

Tooks You could do another test tomorrow, but this another case for why so mnay doctors hate the early indication type preg tests. Im my mums day it wasn't really until a woman had missed two periods that a test was done, and by then they would be nearly over the early loss stage. I truly hope that this isn't what has happened to you, loads of ladies talk of implantation bleeds when everything is getting settled into place. Apart from that I can only send you a a huge hug and my love and hope that everything works out OK.

tooks · 22/11/2004 10:18

thanks,
it is the same one, first response. I was saving the second one in the box to double check in a few days time. Thers's no more spotting or anything going on - its worse because I am waiting now for something to happen then i know it will all be over- waiting is worse. Maybe I should go and buy another test, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Feel very sick now, but with dread maybe, not pg.
What shall I do?

RudyDudy · 22/11/2004 10:22

(((tooks))) you must feel all over the place. Not sure what to advise but if you can bear it perhaps wait a couple more days before doing another test. How many dpo are you?

runtus · 22/11/2004 10:33

Hi girls, how is everyone today? Good weekend I hope? I managed to get myself totally hammered on saturday night and (once again) ended up in floods of tears for no reason at all. What the hell is that all about??? I read a bit of the w/ends threads and saw someone else did that too - what the hell is happening to us??? I never used to cry and fly off the handle but these days I can't control it once I've had a drink. My Dp thinks he's now living with a lunatic who can't be allowed to drink.......

The shame

RudyDudy · 22/11/2004 10:35

Runtus - BTDT You're not alone! I was sooo loony last month my DH wanted me to be pg just to try and explain my erratic behaviour. Unfortunately not so he is now resigning himself to the fact that he did marry a hormonal, emotional nightmare who is more up and down than the proverbial whore's drawers!

Still, as I tell him he'd be bored if it were any other way

Hulababy · 22/11/2004 10:43

(((hugs))) Tooks.

BeckiF · 22/11/2004 10:46

I'll also admit to spending most of the weekend in tears
