Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

@LA9610 oh no!! I’m so sorry, I hope it’s not the case.

Does this mean you’re back in the office full time now? I hate wearing jeans now too because I’ve put on weight since lockdown and they feel too constricting haha

It sounds like you need to have some tlc!! Get some good food and chocolate in and get back in some comfortable clothes πŸ₯°

I’m so sorry you had a teary journey home though 😞

Do you have any plans this weekend to look forward to? βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@HopefulGlow I ended up having to tell my boss yesterday.. things are a bit mad and I was going to be sent off to do pretty risky (disease) stuff and my hand was forced into telling her early. She was wonderful! So that’s one down, just my colleagues to worry about now.

Tonight is scan night. I’m really anxious if I’m honest. My nausea and sore boobs have eased a little this week, they’re still there but not as intense. I expected them to still be getting worse at this stage, so it’s a little worrying and I’m glad I’ve got the scan tonight.

How are you doing after your not so great start to the week? β™₯️

@LA9610 I hate that feeling in jeans! We’ve all been there πŸ˜‚ the feeling after you eat in them too, where it feels like you might just explode!

How are you doing this morning?

@AZ1992X hope your week away is going well and you’re managing to get even the littlest bit of escapism from it all β™₯️

Hope everyone else is having a good week too! Xx

HopefulGlow · 18/11/2021 09:41

@Amy259 oh my goodness I can’t believe it’s scan time already 😍😍😍 that will definitely help πŸ’• I know some people say the nausea and sore boobs can come in waves. So it might come back with a vengeance next week, or you could be a lucky sod and avoid it all together 😁🀞🏼

I’m glad it went well telling your boss! That’s one less thing to worry about. I really hope your colleagues are nice to you, they have no idea what you’ve been through to get here, so they need to be careful with their chosen words.

I’m doing better today thanks. Another viewing tomorrow and on Monday, so that will be nice. My SIL just sent her first scan photo too, I can’t believe it! I’m so happy for them but might put my family chat on mute while everyone gushes πŸ˜… I feel so bad.

Morning ladies,

Just a quick catch in so apologies for not responding to everyone.

Unfortunately I started bleeding Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning with really bad cramping so that hasn’t helped!

@HopefulGlow so sorry to hear you didn’t try the house. I’m keeping my fingers crossed something even better comes along that you’ll love equally as much or even more 🀞 & sorry about the hearing too - it sounds like you’re having a shitty week, I hope you’re taking some time for yourself.

@Amy259 that’s come around so quick, keeping my fingers crossed all is well ❀️❀️ Cannot wait to hear xx

LA9610 · 18/11/2021 10:43

@AZ1992X so sorry to hear that, can't believe that is happening to you again, its so unfair 😭 sending love to you.

@HopefulGlow, not great to be honest. Barely slept last night, anxiety through the roof at the minute and work is stressful. I'm exhausted already πŸ˜‘

Definitely mute the chat so you don't need to deal with that if you don't want to!

@Amy259 hope everything goes well with the scan tonight and it can put your mind at ease! Glad your boss was really understanding too, that definitely helps and hope you don't get any grief from colleagues.

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 10:59

@AZ1992X soo sorry πŸ’› hope you're okay.

@Amy259 all the best for your scan tonight!! 🀞🏻✨

I've been quiet (againnnn) but officially been diagnosed with PCOS this week. Also have a 'mass' attached to my womb so that's... interesting. Off for an MRI next week πŸ™ƒ

Amy259 · 18/11/2021 11:10

@HopefulGlow I think I might tell them a very short and condensed version of my story, just so they understand a bit more. The other girl who is pregnant had a very β€œso I can’t do anything now” whereas I’m more like β€œso what can I still do??” and my boss reminded me that those are two very different attitudes that will be felt very differently by colleagues. That made me feel a little better.

Ahh more viewings is exciting 🀞🏻🀞🏻! And yeah I would probably want to mute that chat too… my mum just text me to say my cousin’s wife is pregnant, just had the 20 week scan and haven’t told anyone before now because they had a late miscarriage last year. All sort of emotions reading that!!

@AZ1992X I’m so sorry to hear that β™₯️ In a way I’m pleased you don’t have to wait around for answers, but I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Hoping you’re getting lots of love and support β™₯️β™₯️

@LA9610 sorry to hear you’re not feeling great today. I wish I had magical tips for managing anxiety - if you find out, will you let me know?! πŸ˜… how’s your tummy/cramps today?

@xoJellyBean Jesus, what a week. Hopefully the diagnosis helps in a way? Will you be given any medication or anything? Sorry, I don’t know much about PCOS, I had just heard of clomid being prescribed to regulate ovulation but that’s all.

Fingers crossed for your MRI and that it comes back showing it’s nothing to worry about/something super easily managed β™₯️

Thanks everyone - it’s just an 8 weeks early scan, not my NHS one. It’s absolutely dragging for me πŸ˜‚ a bag of worry, but hoping for good news tonight to ease that a little 🀞🏻

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 11:19

Yes you're right @Amy259 it does help, in a way! It explains a lot and clearly why I haven't got pregnant 🀣 consultant wants to prescribe me clomid 🀞🏻 once I get this bloody MRI out of the way. We've gone private, so goodbye bank balance! What time is your scan? 🀞🏻

Amy259 · 18/11/2021 11:36

@xoJellyBean hahaha literally every time someone tells me something medical I’m like β€œI really need to sort out private health insurance” and I’ve still not got round to it!

That’s great that there’s a plan of action already, once the MRI is done. It’s never just one thing is it??

It’s not until 6pm, which right now may as well be 2023 πŸ™ƒ

HopefulGlow · 18/11/2021 11:38

@AZ1992X I’m so sorry, that’s heartbreaking. Was it period like bleeding? I really hope you are getting the support and comfort you need right now. Sending lots of love and positivity πŸ’•

@LA9610 Augh, anxiety is the worst. I’m sorry you’re struggling.

What will you do to try and ease it? It’s such a horrible feeling, especially when nothing seems to ease it off.

@xoJellyBean so sorry about your diagnosis!! Thank goodness they’ve spotted it and hopefully this will help with knowing what to do moving forward? Did you have any symptoms of it before?

@Amy259 that sounds like a good idea! Only say what you’re happy and comfortable with and don’t be afraid to put people in their place if they’re out of order 😏

Your attitude sounds much better than hers, that will definitely help!!

You need to let us know how it goes!! 😁 βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 11:50

@Amy259 I know, same!! It really pisses me off that we have to even think about that in the UK. I'm still waiting on my 1st appt from the NHSπŸ€£πŸ™ƒ after googling I think I might have a fibroidπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ ahh im sure you are going out of your mind waiting! Will be thinking of you at 6pmπŸ€žπŸ»πŸ’›

@HopefulGlow thank you. I'm glad I know what's going on in there now... I have regular periods but haven't ovulated in a few months so I knew something was going on. My mum has PCOS as well so wasn't a total shock... albeit a horrible feeling that my body doesn't do what it's told lol what stage of your cycle are you at now?✨

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 12:18

@xoJellyBean Sorry to hear that, but glad they found something so they can target the treatment. Good you went private before it's too late. I've only just gotten a letter from the NHS clinic to confirm the referral (GP referred me over three months ago!) and to say I'm on their waiting list (which can take up to a year!). We are also considering going private from next year. Did you know you were not ovulating? Is it because you didn't get a positive on OPKs? I've always wondered if I ovulate.

@Amy259 good luck for the scan today, let us know how it goes lovely xx

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 13:19

@Tinkerbell098 My letter took months as well! Started to think I wasn't referred 🀣 where do you live? I have been using OPKs and temping since forever so was able to see ovulation each month. The last 5-6 months I've had nothing, no temp rise/no peak OPKs😭 my GP did bloods at the start of the year but the receptionist said 'everything is fine' i rang back a few months later to ask the specifics and they actually were not fine, I couldn't wait any longer so that's why I've gone private. Do you temp or use OPKs? ☺️ I paid £280 for the initial consultation and an internal scan.

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 13:37

@xoJellyBean I'm in Leicestershire. My GP said they've got a massive backlog to clear due to covid. So I think we are going private if we don't hear anything in January. At least to get some scans done and know what the problem is. When they did my bloods in July, the receptionist told me the same thing - "all ok, no further action", but when I managed to get a detailed report, it showed abnormal prolactin, which is how I managed to get my GP to refer me to the clinic. I've only used OPKs in two cycles and they both showed positive around the same time I thought I would. So I stopped using them. I'm going to start using them again from next year (I've given up for the rest of the year as can't bear it anymore). I've never tracked BBT, so probably something I will try from Jan. Thanks for letting me know how much it'll roughly cost, time to start saving money I guess! Hope I'll get somewhere with it.

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 14:30

@Tinkerbell098 it defo felt more reassuring going private and getting a quick appointment. If you can do it I highly recommend. I was told 18-24 months waiting list πŸ™ƒ I would go crazy! I really wish receptionists could speak to the doctors before they tell us everything is 'fine'! No problem at all, most private hospitals/clinics will also have their pricing online which is so helpful

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 14:49

@xoJellyBean 18-24 months? which are are you? How long did you have to wait to be seen when you went private? was it pretty much immediate?

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 14:49

@xoJellyBean sorry was typing too fast. I meant which area are you as 18-24 months sounds crazy!

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 15:25

@Tinkerbell098 I'm in N. Ireland so think we are quite a bit behind mainland UK! I also had to wait 9 weeks for my private appt which is not normal, they're just so under pressureπŸ™ˆ

Amy259 · 18/11/2021 20:58

Hi ladies, just a little message to say everything went well with the scan. Measuring a bit ahead at 8+5 (ov puts me at 8+1) with a heartbeat and two arms and two little legs. Thank you for all your lovely well wishes today! β™₯️

LA9610 · 19/11/2021 07:39

@Amy259 amazing news! Will be starting to feel a bit more real for you now.

My cramps were a lot better yesterday and less bloating. Emotionally I was really down but I spoke to OH at lunch time and had a cry and after that I was better. Even did a workout late afternoon and my mood really lifted after that. I dont really have any tips for anxiety either, mine seems to have days where I'm a wreck but other days I'm completely fine. Not sure if I just drank too much coffee on Wed in the office because I know you are meant to avoid coffee really (for anxiety and TTC) but I don't because I usually only have one double shot a day anyway but I had at least 3 Costa coffees πŸ™ˆ

Because I barely slept Wed night, I slept 9.5 hrs last night straight through so I just did a test because I knew the urine would be concentrated enough and BFN. So I'm writing this month off now.... I've a lot to look forward to with a weekend to Manchester next week, works Christmas night out early Dec and a trip to Krakow right before Christmas so at least I can enjoy all of that, have a drink when I want to and not be worrying about something going wrong.

Next FW starts 23rd December and OH goes away on the 28th so let's pray Santa is bringing me a really special present on Christmas night πŸ˜‚πŸŽ…

LA9610 · 19/11/2021 07:41

That should say next FW that OH is here for... he will completely miss the one that starts next weekend.

AZ1992X · 19/11/2021 13:15

Afternoon ladies,

Hope you’re all doing ok and are ready for the weekend?

Thanks for all your messages and support ❀️
I’m now home from my break and it feels so good to be back. Had a nice week and it’s been a very welcome distraction from everything.

I probably need to find out but not sure if ectopic pregnancies count as one of your three miscarriages but I really hope they do (obviously hope it doesn’t happen again but if it does would want some investigations to see if there’s a reason).

@Amy259 that’s great news, so glad everything went well! ❀️

Can you remember if your cycle was fairly normal after yours? Just trying to predict if it’ll affect ovulation this month.

@HopefulGlow thank you and it’s similar, I’ve had one day of quite heavy bleeding with small clots and tissue and it’s settled a little the last day or two and now medium flow. Hopefully it’ll stay like this and not get any heavier.

@xoJellyBean Never apologise for being quiet, we all need time out every now and again - it sounds like you’ve had a tough week so I completely get that. I hope now you’ve had a diagnosis that they can get you back on the right path ❀️

@LA9610 I’m sorry you’re having a tough time also, it’s really hard isn’t it. I love that you’ve got loads of exciting things to look forward too - they sound great and I hope they’ll be a welcome distraction for you.

AZ1992X · 19/11/2021 13:16

*chemical (sorry my minds a mess)

Amy259 · 19/11/2021 17:02

@LA9610 thank you β™₯️

It’s amazing how much a work out changes your mood, the hardest part is actually motivating myself to get going haha. 3 costas would definitely have me up all night haha and I’m glad you’ve slept better since! Sorry to hear about your bfn, sending lots of love, but I love how positive you’re being - and so much to look forward to!!

That really made me laugh, merry Christmas indeed πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@AZ1992X I’m glad you managed to have a nice time away, when do you go back to work?

I just looked back on my app and my cycle after was just normal, I ovulated on the same day as I had the month before. Fingers crossed it doesn’t affect your next cycle.

I can’t remember if my GP said it counts or not, but I do remember her telling me (off record) that if she recorded it it would delay any help I got because of the 12 months unsuccessful conception rule, so I don’t think she did. Would it delay your April help if you tell them? Would it be an option to not tell them just now and if it happened again (which it won’t!β™₯️) call and tell them about both, and that that’s 3 at that point? Xx

AZ1992X · 19/11/2021 19:15

@Amy259 I’m back to work on Monday so still got the weekend left, I work from home the majority of the time and I don’t think I’m due to go in next week which I’m glad about.

Thanks, that’s reassuring, hopefully it’ll not be affected too much.

Yes, it probably would affect getting referred in April. I’ll perhaps wait till then and see what happens and keep my fingers crossed for good news before then. I know someone who’s had recurrent miscarriages but gone on to have a successful pregnancy which is reassuring and I’m trying to stay positive. Just wish I could know now if there’s a reason!

Do you have any nice plans this weekend? Xx
