Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

@LA9610
The houses were okay thanks. Then we had another in the afternoon, but my partner stayed at home because he felt awful. So I went alone…I FELL IN LOVE!! It was so nice, a couple of decor things I think I could sort out, but it just feel like home as soon as I walked in. So we applied for it last night πŸ˜‚ I really hope they accept us! It’s been a bit of a battle when applying to places.

I completely understand! Tbh I should probably do that too. I hate missing out on some wine on a date if there’s no need to πŸ˜‚

What are your plans today? Did you have a nice Saturday?

@HopefulGlow there’s a big recruitment drive just now but nothing for my office.. which seems a bit mad! I imagine they’ll get on it soon though once I tell them πŸ™ˆ it’s the government though so there’s loads of red tape, even with trying to recruit.

Ahh that’s so exciting that you found a house you love! Got everything crossed for you - do you know when you should hear? 🀞🏻

@AZ1992X how are you doing this morning? Xx

AZ1992X · 14/11/2021 12:23

@LA9610 Not really early, I cannot remember but I think it was around CD17 I ovulated. I think you can get a bfp sometimes as early as 9DPO but I didn’t test until AF was due which was 12.

@HopefulGlow
@Amy259
The cheap one was exactly the same again (no lighter but not really much progression either) so I’m binning them and have some others arriving today so will test tomorrow and hope for some darker lines. I’m trying to stay positive but I don’t really feel much yet so it’s a little hard.

Also in a right predicament that we go away tomorrow with family and if I don’t drink/use the hot tub/go swimming they’ll figure it out and I don’t want that till I know everything is ok πŸ˜”

@Amy259 I agree, you do what’s best for you and when you feel is the best time to tell them. ❀️

Also hoping everything goes well with telling work and I do hope they’ll be supportive of you! X.

@HopefulGlow that’s amazing you’ve found somewhere you like, I’m keeping everything crossed you get it! 🀞 x

HopefulGlow · 14/11/2021 12:42

@Amy259 that’s so annoying! Yes I’m sure they will put in the requests for additional staff once you speak to them too πŸ˜‚

We’ve had a similar thing at work. One of our teams is down to one person because apparently we can’t cover maternity cover haha πŸ˜‚ we’ve had to make special requests to get the budget πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

The lady is back in the office tomorrow so I’m hoping she gets back to me then and lets me know. I’m worried my OH won’t like it as much and I will have to convince him πŸ˜‚ I love it that much!!

@AZ1992X yeah definitely try some new tests! You can get some decent ones on Amazon too.

Ahhhh yes you’re going away!!! Oh shit!! I didn’t even think of all that. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ ok so I think some extreme stealth level is needed. Stock up on some alcohol free booze, then (hopefully you have some) get empty normal bottles and fill them up with your alcohol free ones?

The hot tub though?…. πŸ€” could you pretend you have an infected cut or something? Bandage your toe up and say you’re not allowed to get it wet? πŸ˜‚ you could also say you’re on antibiotics too which means you can’t drink?…. Maybe that’s too obvious? haha

I know it must be so hard to get excited and be positive. But you are doing all you can. Also there are a lot of people who don’t get symptoms straight away too, remind yourself of that! πŸ’•

Thank you! I’m hoping we get it too!

We have our hearing tomorrow too so I’m really hoping it’s good news all round 🀞🏼

@AZ1992X ahhhh me being a numpty thought it was CD12 you tested positive, no 12DPO πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ okay yeah thats not early at all!

Such a tough one with going away at this stage isn't it 😐 I'd definitely fake a wound with a bandage and use that an excuse for the hot tub. I
That's a genuine reason and I'm sure people won't want to share the tub with your 'infected wound' πŸ™ˆ alcohol is harder but if in a tough spot just accept the drink, take a few fake sips and then ditch it somewhere.

@HopefulGlow got my fingers crossed for you and the house! Yeah my weekend has been decent, just went to the gym and out for lunch yesterday and today I've just spent 4 hrs on the golf course with OH, he is golf mad and a really good player so I've committed to trying to learn so he can play more but still spend time together. I'm absolutely $h!t3 though πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ what have you had on today?

HopefulGlow · 14/11/2021 16:53

@LA9610 ooo your weekend sounds nice! Wow! 4 hours on the golf course?! That’s a lot haha was it fun? That’s nice that you guys have that time together though ☺️

I’ve been really lazy. Did a bit of cleaning, made a roast dinner and now I’m going to watch a film 😁 after some pudding of course haha βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@AZ1992X yeah get those tests in the bin! As for symptoms etc, I know you know all of this but it is so so early! I was (quite aggressively πŸ˜‚) pinching my boobs daily to see if they hurt when I was

AZ1992X · 15/11/2021 06:33

Morning ladies!

Thanks for all your tips, Unfortunately I don’t think I need to worry as much as I though, the two tests have almost confirmed it’s not progressing. The new strip barely had any line and the clear blue was fainter than the one from a few days ago. I don’t want this to ruin my break so I’m not testing whilst I’m away and will test again at the end of the week and seek help if it’s faded more/gone.

Currently sat in bed crying 😒, life is so unfair x

Tinkerbell098 · 15/11/2021 09:09

@AZ1992X aww lovely, I know how you feel. I'm all in tears every month when I get AF. It's not fair is it? My Facebook page is loaded with newborns or pregnancy announcements and all my friends/cousins are either expecting/ have a family. It just feels so unfair. Please don't lose hope. We are all in this together. Loads of hugs xx

Amy259 · 15/11/2021 11:01

@AZ1992X I’m so so sorry πŸ’”

You’re right - life is so unfair. I don’t like the term β€˜chemical pregnancy’ because I felt like it almost downplayed how it felt in the moment, pregnancy loss is pregnancy loss and I’m so sorry for how awful it must be just now. Always here if need to chat or vent or anything else.

When do you go away, is it today? β™₯️ Xx

JasmineW88 · 15/11/2021 11:30

Hello all,
Just thought I'd pop on here to spread some fairy dust and good luck and to remind you all to keep up the faith and hope. Positive thoughts only!
I am 33 and partner is 36. Neither of us have had kids.
We had been trying for just over 2 years, had all the tests going. GP seemed concerned right away due to our age, so referred us to infertility specialist. Numerous tests, scans, bloods, appointments later and they couldn't find any reason as to why we were not conceiving together.
After all tests had been exhausted, she confirmed that we were eligible for IVF and sent us a choice of 3 clinics which she could refer us to.
We chose our preferred clinic after much research and let our specialist know on the Thursday. She sent the referral letter and said we now just had to wait on the waiting list until the clinic contacted us to start our IVF journey.

On the Saturday I was due on. I felt like I did every other month, pre-period tender breasts, pre-period mood swings, pre-period spots.
I don't know what made me do it, but I thought I'd just do a test 'just in case'.
Pee'd on the stick. Put it on the side. Washed my hands. Looked at it expecting to see 'Not pregnant' (as has been the case for the last 20 tests)..... but this time was different!
We'd done it!
Pregnant!
I was so shocked. Couldn't believe it.
I fantasised over all of theses great ideas on how I would tell my partner if this day ever came, romantic, cute surprises - caught on tape to cherish forever!
But that all shot straight out of the window.....
I ran down the stairs and literally chucked the test at him!

We are still early days, only 6Weeks2Days, but I'm hoping to god it stays in there safe and sound now.

Moral of the story....DO NOT GIVE UP.
Your time will come.
As hard and frustrating and draining it becomes, month after month of Negative tests.... Do not stop believing. Do not give up hope.
Much love and luck to you all

Nora11 · 15/11/2021 13:04

@AZ1992X I'm so so sorry πŸ’” life is unfair and cruel. I hope you are still able to enjoy your time away with your family. And do take all the time you need to heal from this. I agree with @Amy259 'chemical pregnancy' is such a minimising term. A loss is a loss and it's especially hard when you have waited for so long for your positive 😒 I have been there too and remember that terrible dread as the tests started to fade... Really hope you are okay and will get your baby soon ❀️

Thank you for sharing your story @JasmineW88, so happy for you! Really needed a positive story today. ❀️

My period started this morning and I had a bit of a cry at work (I realised when I went to the loo just after getting in). Luckily my colleague was really kind to me. I'm also surrounded by newborns and pregnancies @Tinkerbell098. It's so hard and feels so soooo unfair.

Amy259 · 15/11/2021 13:20

@Nora11 I’m so sorry af has arrived today, that’s great that your colleague was so supportive. Yeah I was the same when I had what I’d rather call a really early loss - I hated how minimised it seemed to be everywhere, including by my gp unfortunately.

It’s really not the same as AF coming and it shouldn’t be thought of as just another month of disappointment, because you’re that much closer and the hope is 100% there as soon as you see the second line πŸ’”

@JasmineW88 congratulations - wishing you a healthy 9 months!

Tinkerbell098 · 15/11/2021 13:26

@Nora11 so sorry this isn't your month, but please don't lose hope. We are all in this together.

@JasmineW88 congratulations! I cried a little reading your story. It gives us all hope. Thanks so much for sharing and all the very best for the next 9 months xx

Tinkerbell098 · 15/11/2021 13:27

@JasmineW88 wanted to be clear. those were tears of joy xx

JasmineW88 · 15/11/2021 13:58

@Nora11 @Tinkerbell098 @Amy259
Thank you for your kind words.

I know it's rubbish to hear when somebody else gets their time. No matter how genuinely happy I was for my friends family as they fell pregnant around me, you really can't help that sadness and feeling of your heart dropping a little.

I will love and leave this thread now.

You've got this ladies!
My thoughts and good wishes are always with you all.
Lots of love and luck to each and every one of you.
xxx

Nora11 · 15/11/2021 14:06

Thank you @JasmineW88. Also just wanted to be clear in my post when I said about being surrounded by pregnancies etc I didn't mean you πŸ™ˆ I actually find it so encouraging reading stories like yours and genuinely so happy for you after your long journey! It's when it's people I know in real life that I find it difficult, even though I am happy for them too. Wishing you a lovely pregnancy, birth and beyond πŸ’–

Thanks @Tinkerbell098, I'm trying to focus on doing everything I can for this fresh new cycle now... We will get there!

@Amy259 thank you and sorry you had to go through that too, especially being treated that way by your gp 😒 it definitely is so much more than just another AF. I still have my first positive test hidden away at the back of my sock drawer πŸ™ˆ sometimes I look at it just to remind myself it's possible to get that far! But it's so hard to remember how relieved and excited I was and how quickly that was crushed πŸ’”

AZ1992X · 16/11/2021 08:11

@Amy259 @Nora11 Thank you Both, it means a lot ❀️ - I hope you’re both doing ok!

Yes, I went yesterday - currently away now, survived day one πŸ˜‚. Part of me is thinking just do whatever you like now this week but I have this niggle saying still be cautious. (Like I’m expecting a miracle and it will have changed)

Anyways, hope everyone has a nice week and I’ll check in later in the week ❀️❀️ Xx.

LA9610 · 16/11/2021 09:21

@AZ1992X really sorry to see that, got my fingers crossed that all is still okay and hope you can enjoy your time away.

@Nora11 sorry AF arrived 😭😭 you are right, life can be so cruel sometimes.

I'm now on CD23, AF due in 4 days, I dont test for ovulation but 10DPO according to Fitbit estimation. I noticed this morning that my cervix is really high, I dont normally pay any attention to it the only reason I actually noticed was because DH and I DTD and when my cervix is low sometimes it can be a wee bit uncomfortable during sex.

Been looking online and I think my cervix should be low again at this stage in my cycle (if not pregnant) but trying not to get my hopes up that this means anything?! Anyone else had high cervix and not been pregnant?

HopefulGlow · 16/11/2021 11:45

Hi all! Sorry for the silence on my end. But I just needed to drop in and say hi! πŸ’•

We didn’t get the house and the hearing didn’t go well. His ex said no to everything which means we now have to do a final hearing next year! Im feeling a little deflated and down.

@AZ1992X I’m so sorry to hear your news, I can’t imagine the heartache you are feeling. I really hope that isn’t the case and it surprises you, but please know we are all sending our love your way!

I would do whatever you like this week. If you fancy a little drink, have one! If you need a dip in the hot tub, do it πŸ’• anything you can to make yourself feel a tiny bit better.

@AZ1992X I agree with HopefulGlow, just do whatever makes your head and heart feel comforted - whatever you feel like you need to do, for sure. Hope you manage to have some fun with your family β™₯️

@LA9610 I tried to track my cervix at one point and gave up because a couple of times it stayed high until af was already here, other times it was low in the days before it, it was all very confusing and not consistent at all. But if yours is consistently low in the days before af and this month it’s different then that definitely sounds promising! 🀞🏻🀞🏻 Got everything crossed!

@HopefulGlow I’m so sorry about the house, that’s rotten. The next one will be even better, I’m sure of it! And I’m sorry about the hearing, that must be so hard for you and your OH, and the kids too I’m sure. Sending you lots of love! Xxx

LA9610 · 16/11/2021 17:01

@Amy259 ahhh okay I'm not going to take that as it means anything then! As I said I don't pay too much attention to it so it could well have been this high on other months too, I just thought it odd that I couldn't actually feel it at all this morning, this late in the cycle! I've got my normal week before period munchies and otherwise everything is just normal, no reason to think I am pregnant tbh but will see over the next few days. AF likes to play tricks on me so if it's a cycle we haven't 'tried' or don't think we hit the right dates, AF appears CD 25-26 like clockwork but on cycles we have tried it can often be later like 27-28-29. My last couple of cycles I've had no cramps or anything beforehand it's just come on really quickly so will see what happens at the weekend. I'm due on Sat but I have dinner and drinks planned on Fri night so I'll probably have to test just to make sure.

Amy259 · 16/11/2021 19:58

@LA9610 some people on here swear by it! Mine just didn’t play ball and stay consistent πŸ˜‚ it goes high at ov but that’s about it. It wasn’t high when I got a bfp but it went high within a couple of days, so had I not tested really early at 9dpo and waited until af was due, it probably would’ve been high before I got my positive (I hope that made sense πŸ˜‚).

Fingers crossed for some amazing news on Friday 🀞🏻🀞🏻 I’m always so impressed by all you girls that can hold off testing! X

HopefulGlow · 17/11/2021 15:59

@Amy259 thank you! It’s really frustrating but I need to focus on the positives. πŸ’•

How are you feeling? Have you spoken to work yet? Or was it this Friday?

@LA9610 I’m with Amy on this one too, I was clueless when it came to my cervix but I know so many people use it successfully. I’m crossing all my fingers for you and a BFP this month 🀞🏼

Also….how is it only Wednesday??? πŸ˜‚ this week is dragging βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

LA9610 · 17/11/2021 20:00

@Amy259 @HopefulGlow thanks ladies.

To be honest I'm just starting to feel like my period is coming because I've been soooo bloated today. I had my first day back in the office since March 2020, none of my work wardrobe fits anymore (I've gained a good 14lbs πŸ˜’) so I ended up wearing my only black skinnies but they are also too small so I was literally in pain between the bloat and had shooting pains in my stomach, either period cramps or caused by the jeans being too tight.

Ended up crying in the car all the way home (I always cry for absolutely no real reason just before my period comes) so I'm just convinced AF is going to appear in the next day or two. CD 25 tomorrow and it was a 25 day cycle last month so wouldn't be early for me.
