Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

@Fra1991 I’m so sorry AF came bearing major cramps too, that doesn’t make you feel any better 😩 did you know your friend was trying? How are you feeling about it all? I hope you curled up with some good chocolate and a movie ❀️

You see I find it hard to talk about and I don’t know why, I find it easy on here because you all understand.

I would just be careful with how you lose the weight. As long as it’s a healthy way to lose it, it shouldn’t effect TTC . :)

It does seem everyone on here dislikes work at the moment haha I blame covid, I think it’s made everyone assess what’s important.

We have OH DC tomorrow. So it will be playing with toys in the morning and we are going to a play center in the afternoon :) I’m trying so hard to not feel glum about AF being due tomorrow but it’s the same every month…holding my breath every time I wipe after going to the loo haha

what are your plans? βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

Happy Saturday ladies! So glad it's the weekend 🀣 still negative OPKs for me... CD30 now. Don't think I'm ovulating this monthπŸ™„

@HopefulGlow I would loooove to be good at sewing! πŸͺ‘ my hobby is lifestyle & wedding photography, I suppose it's maybe more than a hobby now... I'm obsessed πŸ€£πŸ™ˆ

@Lauralozzle happy birthday weekend πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Lauralozzle · 16/01/2022 09:57

@HopefulGlow we went to a South Indian restaurant called Kayal which was lovely. Had the most amazing creamy fish curry ever. Finished the night off with cocktails!

Need to get back on it diet wise after today though, doctor basically said I can’t gain any more weight!

@Fra1991 sorry AF came. She’s a bitch! I think if you lose sensibly- no crash diets - then you’ll be fine whilst TTC. The issue is dieting when you’re pregnant I think.

@xoJellyBean thank you!!

Tinkerbell098 · 16/01/2022 11:06

@Lauralozzle Happy Birthday! Hope you had an amazing day. I love Kayal! Are you Leicester based?

HopefulGlow · 16/01/2022 11:17

@xoJellyBean ohhh that’s amazing! I would love to be good at photography!! 😍😍 what would be your ideal shoot?

@Lauralozzle ooo that sounds so good! Indian seems to be the meal of choice this month 😍

@HopefulGlow oh waow good question. Probably a destination wedding in Greece✨πŸ₯° how's your Sunday going?

HopefulGlow · 16/01/2022 15:15

@xoJellyBean that would be beautiful! Oooo those beach sunsets too 😍 I’ve been following a photographer on Instagram who does elopement photography, they do incredible photos. Mostly in remote locations, they’re stunning!

We have my OH DS & DD today, we had an indoor picnic and took them to a play center.

I’m super anxious because AF was due today and usually I start first thing in the morning. Nothing so far and the wait is killing me πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ i will test in the morning if there’s still no sign, but I’m sure AF is just teasing me this cycle 😩

How’s yours going? βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

Am I okay to join girlies!

I'm 26 and boyf is nearly 33. TTC (off and on meaning tracking and going with the flow) for around 14 months. Found out I was pregnant April 2021 and unfortunately lost it after a few weeks and haven't had a positive since. So got pregnant after around 4/5 months the first time but now nearly 10 months later and nothing. Feeling a bit deflated. Currently on TWW 12DPO and just had spotting so feel as if I'm out this month!

I'm going to have a read of the thread now!

Anyone else feel slightly under pressure once the year mark passes?😣

xoJellyBean · 16/01/2022 17:46

@HopefulGlow yesss exactly, golden hourβœ¨πŸ’› ahh that sounds like Rob Dight, you should check him out too! He does elopement's in Ireland mostly.

Aww that sounds like a lovely day. How old are they both?

Ooooh πŸ‘€πŸ€žπŸ» good luck for testing tomorrow!! Any symptoms? 🀩 I'm having a chilled day with the pups & watching After Life☺️

@apwilso heyy welcome! So sorry about your loss. This journey is tough❀️ the 12 month mark is def a hard milestone, it just feels like it'll never happen! Will you be going to your gp?

apwilso · 16/01/2022 18:03

@xoJellyBean thank you. I'm not sure been reading the thread and other threads and it seems like it's taking a while to get into the NHS so if I'm not pregnant this cycle I may consider it. We've mentioned changing lifestyle. We are slightly over weight so we are trying to cut back and my partner is a ecigger so trying to get him to cut back/quit. How are you on your journey xxx

HopefulGlow · 16/01/2022 18:15

@apwilso welcome! I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s so hard on this journey.

I’m on cycle 18 right now and I know some other ladies have been on her longer. At first I found the year mark to be like a milestone, like the pressure was on but also half of me thought that would mean I got a BFP. Sadly that’s not the case.

I would definitely get on the NHs ASAP as some tests can take longer than others. I got my bloods really quickly but my OH is still waiting for his SA.

Most of us have said the same thing about getting in shape too! I would like to be more conscious of what I’m eating, I used to be really good and before Christmas I went off the rails haha so I’m looking forward to eating well again.

@xoJellyBean ooo thank you, I will take a look at their work!

Augh every time I go see I think loo I’m dreading it!! This is the thing I’ve had no symptoms. The odd throbbing/light really cramps today and a headache. That’s it. So I think I might just start tomorrow 😩

They are 3 & 5 😊 it was a very noisy day haha but they had fun so that’s good. We are just finalising the custody agreement with his ex so I can’t wait for that to be over.

I’ve not seen afterlife, is it good?

@apwilso where are you based? I'm Northern Ireland - was referred to Nhs in March and still haven't heard anything πŸ‘ŽπŸ» I went private in November and finally have my diagnosis of PCOS, hopefully will have a plan in the coming weeks!🀞🏻 changing lifestyle will def help you bothπŸ₯° xx

@HopefulGlow ahhh I really hope af stays away for you🀞🏻✨ imagine if this was it!! πŸ₯°

Awh they are lovely ages, im sure your had lots of fun! Hope the custody agreement goes smoothly but I'm sure you are eager for it to be finalised!

Afterlife is on Netflix, written by Ricky Gervais. It's dark comedy - quite sad in places though to be truthful 😭

HopefulGlow · 16/01/2022 18:39

@xoJellyBean thank you!! I really hope so but I’m trying so hard not to get too excited or run away with myself.

They are lovely and it’s been good getting back into a routine now we can see them again. Thank you, it’s only been going on a year but it feels like forever.

Ah yes I have heard about that! I love Ricky Gervais so I might have to add that to my list.

I’m about to get in my comfies and watch some buffy πŸ˜‚ βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@HopefulGlow thank you. I'm glad with groups like this that everyone is so understanding and can help each other. That was my fear so I did tell myself if nothing by April go but might just go anyway to get ahead of things! What tests do they do first?

Before lockdown I was gym 5 days a week and eating well (don't get me wrong I wasn't like in the best shape but was in a good routine!) since then just lost all motivation etc! So we're back on it now.

@xoJellyBean wow that's a long time! I'm based Manchester so not sure what there timing is like. NHS let me down whilst I was having a miscarriage and disregarded me so I'm nervous to go back. That's our first initial step but maybe I would consider going private I just don't know where to start! I'm glad you got the diagnosis though even though it's PCOS you can figure out what would work for you now!

Lauralozzle · 16/01/2022 20:04

@Tinkerbell098 I’m notts/derby based, they have a restaurant in Notts! Love Kayal, been a few times, it’s bloody lovely!

I could seriously eat curry everyday, not great on the old waist line though!

@apwilso welcome. Sorry to hear about your loss 😞

Well, had a lovely roast and baileys cake at my dads today. Day 4 of flashing smiley faces, I’m assuming peak is bound to come tomorrow! Weekend has gone really quick, don’t really want to get up early tomorrow for work but needs must. Planning to get back into running, so run planned for the morning before I start otherwise I’ll never get around to doing it!

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend so far.

apwilso · 16/01/2022 20:31

@Lauralozzle thank you! Haven't used clearblue smileys in ages how do you find them x

Bundaberg84 · 16/01/2022 21:25

Thank you all for the warm welcome ❀️

@HopefulGlow thing is, as I only have one tube left, the chances to get pregnant each month are smaller. But it's hard to say; some women still get pregnant easily, others don't. I read somewhere that around 75% or more will be pregnant within 2 years. We'll see...

Lauralozzle · 16/01/2022 21:48

@apwilso I get on with them fine, I like the fact they use FMU so the testing is sorted in the morning. Using dip sticks like easy at home ones at work were a nightmare, I have an Amazon subscription for them so I don’t have to worry about going out. Don’t usually get 4 days of flashing smiley faces though, usually only get one lol!

AZ1992X · 17/01/2022 07:51

Morning ladies!

I’ve been terrible at trying to keep up, if im honest I’ve taken a small step back and trying not to think about ttc as much as I used to and I feel so much more better mentally.

I hope everyone’s had a lovely weekend?

@HopefulGlow Thats one good thing that he can tell you about all those stories where they’ve gone on to have a successful pregnancy. I think that would help me. I remember seeing a guy when I had my scan and he was so comforting but felt awful telling me that I had MC.

Thanks - I’ll have a look into those videos. I either do walking or some workouts like legs, bums, tums or short hiit classes. I went for a long walk again yesterday and felt much better for going.

I’ve seen your AF didn’t arrive yesterday, keeping my fingers crossed it stays away for you.🀞

AZ1992X · 17/01/2022 08:06

@Fra1991 I’m so sorry AF arrived, I hope you’ve taken some time for yourself and have treated yourself to something nice? I tend to order a takeaway the weekend it arrives and chill on the sofa. Mines due in the next few days.

Also sorry to hear you had an announcement from a friend at the same time that must have been even harder.

In terms of loosing weight agree with hopefulglow do it healthily i.e if you don’t normally exercise don’t go too hard and just do smaller low impact workouts/walking and focus on your diet. I put a few pounds on over lockdown and switched to Gousto and that’s really worked for me.

@xoJellyBean that must be really frustrating, I’ve had the odd month where I was convinced I wasn’t ovulating and it came very late. I hope you get answers one way or the other with either a positive opk or in the form of your AF.

@Lauralozzle hope you had a lovely birthday! It sounds like you’re not too far from me - I’m Notts based also. I’ve never been kayal - might be one to Add onto my list!

HopefulGlow · 17/01/2022 09:47

@apwilso I think it depends on the area you’re in. I know some people who wait months for tests. My sisters friend who lives in a different area to us, didn’t even have to wait a full year before they got fertility help. It’s crazy!

That’s so good though, do you think you could work your way up to that again? At the first lockdown I got into a routine of doing yoga and Zumba on alternate days. Again I wasn’t really fit but I definitely think it helped and I felt good. I think now winter is coming to an end it should help us get back into the grove.

@Bundaberg84 ahhh I see, well hopefully you can get seen for fertility help sooner! I hate reading all the statistics, I know they should help but sometimes they just frustrate me!!

@AZ1992X
That’s the thing I don’t know how he does the hard part. Even if ladies come in with bleeding suspecting something is wrong. It doesn’t make it any easier, I would just cry with them and I know that’s not what they need. I’m so glad you had a lovely supportive Sonographer though, it’s so important.

My friend had a scan recently about her PCOS and the lady was incredibly rude. She felt so vulnerable and she ended up complaining about it. It’s so sad! I mean she isn’t in the UK but I just feel so bad for her that someone would be so rude in that line of work.

No worries about the videos, let me know if you try again. A nice long walk sounds lovely.where do you usually go?

Sadly I woke up at 5am needing a wee, thought I would save it and do a test with the OH when he woke up. But the dreaded wipe had blood!! So AF was super cruel this cycle. I’ve only ever had 1 cycle this length in the whole 18 cycles. What an absolute joke.

I cried myself back to sleep and im feeling ok now, maybe a little switched off/numb. But I’m not sobbing so that’s a bonus.

I hope everyone has a good day. Excuse me if I’m a little quiet now βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@HopefulGlow wow! I'll have to see what mine say. If I'm not pregnant this cycle then I'll be giving it ago!

Finally on CD32 I got my peak! 🀣πŸ₯³

Happy Monday ladies x

Lauralozzle · 17/01/2022 19:49

@HopefulGlow I’m sorry AF came 😒

@xoJellyBean you and me both got our peaks today. Finally! I bet you were pulling your hair out not getting it until CD32!

I’ve been really strict with food today. Im not satisfied, but I’ve eaten enough and need to keep the calories somewhat low to make up for the weekend. After spending past two days eating way over 2,000 calories I’m feeling the deficit today! Ha.

Got my peak this morning, so just a waiting game now for my temp to rise before I’m in the 2WW. Also dropped off the chlamydia swab today at the doctors so that’s everything they need for the referral. Now it’s just a waiting game.

apwilso · 17/01/2022 20:55

On CD34/13dpo had extremely light spotting when j wipe so think AF is coming. Tests are negative so think I'm out! Think I can see a faint line on a cheapie but think it's wishful thinking
