Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

Morning all!

@HopefulGlow agree, I’d be the same and cry with them and that sounds awful - there’s no need to be rude especially around fertility issues. I think I would of complained too.

Will do & I normally just go round a local country park or sometimes we go around the Peak District as it’s not too far away.

So sorry AF arrived for you. ❀️

@xoJellyBean glad you finally got your peak!

AZ1992X · 18/01/2022 08:12

@apwilso keeping my fingers crossed it is a line 🀞

apwilso · 18/01/2022 08:39

Unfortunately it looks like AF is here absolutely gutted!

LA9610 · 18/01/2022 16:51

@HopefulGlow, so sorry to hear about AF arriving and being particularly cruel this month :( Because I was catching up on the messages I was so hoping that there was going to be a BFP coming from you!

I had a cruel cycle like that back in August or something , I think AF came CD 29 which is not particularly late but i'm always CD25/26 and I was literally convinced that must be my month. I think that was really when I stopped symptom checking to be honest, now I know for sure that all the symptoms I get are just signs that AF is coming and I just stopped trying to convince myself otherwise on a monthly basis.

Yeah, pleased he got his appointment through! I think that was a 5 month wait from referral to the appointment date but it's actually passed really quickly and doesn't feel like that's another half year gone...yikes! It's also weird to think that if we don't get pregnant soon we will be put on the IVF waiting list THIS year. That seemed so far off only a few months ago and it's still ages to wait really but I feel like the months just fly by to be honest.

Yeah I think it may be our ages and also the challenges that TTC brings that make work that much more of a chore :/

@apwilso welcome and sorry to hear about AF arriving for you too :( I would definitely speak to your GP soon just because from what I have seen, once you do that it's just a lot of waiting so if you can get ahead of that somewhat then it can't hurt!

@AZ1992X nice to see you back and I agree sometimes just taking a step back and not thinking so much about TTC definitely helps the mental health (even though it's always at the back of your mind somewhere).

Hope everyone is having a nice week!

Fra1991 · 18/01/2022 19:21

Hi πŸ‘‹
@HopefulGlow I’m so sorry about AF, I was reading through catching up and was really hopeful for you. I hope you are doing ok and allow yourself to be sad and then it’s your chance to go again! I had a wee cry at work when my friend texted me - they hadn’t planned to start trying til later this year they just mistimed it!! But I’m normally most down when I get the spotting because I know af is coming but I’m not on my new cycle.
@AZ1992X thanks for the kind words - I understand taking a step back hope you e been ok, where are you on your cycle? Sorry if you’ve said I get confused with everyone on here when I leave it too long.
@Lauralozzle hope you had a lovely birthday, curry sounds fab! I knkw what you mean about feeling the calories - I felt like that after xmas because I was so used to being constantly full!

@apwilson so sorry you’ve had a tough year of it, it is good to come on here and talk to people in the same situation - sometimes I feel like other people think I’m just doing something wrong like mistiming jt or whatever and that can be hard. In terms of the nhs I would just go - just getting an appointment these days can take you into your next cycle.

After saying I wouldn’t do ovulation tests this months I thofuht u may aswell finish the kit I had so got a flashing smiley face today. I also bought a fertilily cup does anyone else use one?? Xx

apwilso · 18/01/2022 21:19

@LA9610 exactly. Going to book in I think. I think with me and my boyfriend it's bad timing because he works away

apwilso · 18/01/2022 21:20

@Fra1991 might as well. That's what we think ours is mistiming my boyfriend wants to give it till April till we go doctors in the hope something happens but not sure

AZ1992X · 19/01/2022 06:37

Morning ladies,

AF due today, I gave in and tested and think my eyes are playing tricks on me as if I squint I feel I can just see a line but I bet it isn’t and AF arrives later.

LA9610 · 19/01/2022 08:49

@apwilso - my husband works away too - he is offshore. I've had all the tests and there is nothing obviously wrong with me (DH is awaiting semen analysis test in Feb but not expecting that there are any issues there either). So it could just be a case of timing for us too but there have been lots of months where he has been home at the right times and still nothing. My sister took 6 years to conceive her first and neither of them worked away so i've always got that in the back of my head too!

LA9610 · 19/01/2022 08:51

@AZ1992X

Morning ladies,

AF due today, I gave in and tested and think my eyes are playing tricks on me as if I squint I feel I can just see a line but I bet it isn’t and AF arrives later.

Ahh got my fingers crossed for you!! If you think you can see something then it is probably there?!
AZ1992X · 19/01/2022 09:16

@LA9610 Thank you!

OH said he could see it too but if I’m honest I find it hard to believe.

After two losses last year I just think the worst and think it may just be a chemical or it won’t work out. I’m trying to be positive but it’s hard.

LA9610 · 19/01/2022 09:42

@AZ1992X - Yeah I understand how scary that must be having had previous losses :( I'm not sure what the right thing is to say here having never been through what you have but just know that whether you are thinking positive or negative thoughts - it's not going to change the outcome so don't feel guilty for not feeling automatically positive.

I hate when people make you feel like thinking negatively causes bad things to happen - it hasn't, it won't and it never will! What will be will be and you are entitled to feel any which way you want about it.

I've honestly never considered how i'll feel once I see that line because it's never happened for me but I am an anxious person anyway and I imagine it will be a worrying time and i'll probably struggle with negative thoughts too!

AZ1992X · 19/01/2022 11:40

Thank you @LA9610, I think that’s just what I needed to hear. Really appreciate it ❀️

Hope you’re ok and your week isn’t going too bad.

Bundaberg84 · 19/01/2022 11:45

So sorry @HopefulGlow for AF showing up. I hope you treat yourself well!

@AZ1992X oh that sounds promising! The one month I had a BFP I was convinced AF is about to show up as I have had mild cramps as usual, and I had a very faint positive when I tested that day that turned into an ovious line two days later.

@LA9610 you're so right. Negative thinking is sometimes just intuition that wants to tell you something. I also think it's normal to not wanting to be excited too soon.

HopefulGlow · 19/01/2022 12:29

@Lauralozzle so happy you got your peak! Wahooo! Great news about dropping off your test too, as soon as they have that they can get the ball rolling for you 😁

Hope you enjoyed your weekend and are ready to get back into the swing of things

@apwilso so sorry AF came for you too, it’s so disheartening!! 😩 what did you do to comfort yourself?

I find some months easier than others, this month I spent a whole day feel numb but pretending it wasn’t there. Then day 2 I spent making jokes about it…sort of worked πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ but not really!! I do hope you’re okay though πŸ’•

@AZ1992X
I’m feeling better today thanks!! Especially now I’ve seen your great news πŸ’•πŸ’• have you tested again?! Oh my goodness I’m so excited for you BUT I completely understand why you’re feeling reserved too.

You’ve been through so much last year so it’s natural for you to feel anxious. Just know that we are all sending baby dust your way and hoping this is an amazing start to the year for you. You deserve it πŸ’•

I’m really hoping it gets darker and darker πŸ’• keep us posted!!

@LA9610 thank you!! It’s so horrible isn’t it. I was literally telling myself don’t get too excited, you have no symptoms either. But half of myself wanted to feel excited just in case it was really it πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I’m the same now, I don’t symptom spot as everything and nothing can be symptoms!! It’s so crazy. It’s a really high % of people who don’t have symptoms until 6+ weeks too, so I like to remind myself that.

@Fra1991 that must have been so hard to get the text too, especially knowing it was sort of unplanned. Just remind yourself you’re doing all you can, you’re being strong and remaining positive when it’s so hard to😊 I need to start reminding myself it’s a new chance to try again too after AF arrives πŸ₯°

I’ve read about fertility cups after someone else on here mentioning them, but I hadn’t heard about them before that. Are you using one?

I hope everyone is having a good week!

Thank you @Bundaberg84 I did end up having a gin and getting in my comfies. Me and my OH snuggled and watched some Buffy to distract ourselves.

I need to remind myself it’s okay to deep down, just don’t let it take over. Which is easier said than done sometimes.

Hope you’re okay βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@Fra1991 I have been using the fertilily cup for a couple of months now. No luck as of yet. I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly though as (sorry for TMI) when I invert it as they instruct you to, it just slips out due to all the liquid and even the slightest movement on my part tends to take it out. I think I have a very weirdly shaped cervix maybe! Hope you can make more use of it than I can.

Bundaberg84 · 19/01/2022 12:46

That sounds lovely @HopefulGlow!

Everytime AF shows up I treat myself to all the things I couldn't do or eat or drink if I was pregnant, usually als a gin, a hot bottle bath, sushi, all those things.

I'm alright thanks! Entering the fertility phase I think (not tracking this month) but as we have a friend staying with us for a two more weeks I'm afraid we're already out this cycle before it started properly.

HopefulGlow · 19/01/2022 12:50

@Bundaberg84 that sounds like a great idea! I definitely need to do that next cycle, I love sushi too haha

Oooo FW!! I hope you can sneak some in even with your friend staying haha just kick them out for the night πŸ˜‚

@HopefulGlow I hope so, too... maybe he will be out on Sunday or so. We can't really kick him out as he has nowhere to stay and is here because he had to have surgery, so that would be a bit unfair ;)

Tinkerbell098 · 19/01/2022 14:41

Hi girls, just wanted to check if your DH/partners are on any supplements? Mine isn't and just wondering if that's something we need to consider. His SA seems fine, so nothing obviously wrong.

Just had another pregnancy announcement at work today, it's everywhere!

Fra1991 · 19/01/2022 15:14

@Tinkerbell098 yeh I was worried about inserting it wrong and almost making things worse by accidentally pulling it out and everything coming with it but I thought ah well nothing else has worked for over a year so may aswell try. I was reading on another forum and yeh I’m similar to you seem to struggle a bit with that. In the end I just shoved it up as far as I could and hoped for the best. I left it in overnight too and I have to say made the most disgusting noise when I pulled it out and some liquid came out. I used it with pre seed aswell. I had stopped using that as I don’t think my partner really liked it but had another pack so thought I would. Re supplements we were recommended Macca Pills for OH. someone else who had trouble tryjng recommended. He’s been taking them on an off for a while now (in the same way I forget to take my pregnacare regularly).

I think I will try taking aspirin after my ovulation this month - does anyone else do that?

@AZ1992X fingers crossed for you! I’m the same as others I have no idea how it feels but I really hope you get a positive outcome. I read online that there’s nothing you can do at this point that will really affect what’s happening so don’t feel guilty about being negative. But everything is crossed for you!

@HopefulGlow thank you 😊 if only we all took not only other peoples advice on board but our own aswell!! Be kind to ourselves!! Hope everyone is having a good week, happy hump day!! Xxx

LA9610 · 19/01/2022 15:19

@Tinkerbell098 non my husband isn't on any supplements. He was told by sub-fertility clinic last year to stop using protein shakes (he was only having 1 a day) and he was pretty miffed about that haha. To be honest I can't see that it would make a blind bit of difference as these are things which are safe for consumption but they said it could apparently affect sperm quality!

@AZ1992X no problem, i've got everything crossed for you.

It's my FW this week too, it seems to be closer and closer to my period, I literally have like one day all clear and then it's back to business again! It seems like ovulation is particularly early this month too as i've been getting EWCM since CD7!

Tinkerbell098 · 19/01/2022 15:41

@Fra1991 I'll try to leave the cup in a bit longer next time, but it's not very comfortable for me at all! Once I sneezed and it was off! I've also started taking Aspiring (75mg) right after ovulation, just from this month. Are you meant to continue it through the cycle or stop at CD1? Thanks for the recommendation for the supplements. I'll look it up.

@LA9610 how strange about protein shakes? I'd have never thought that could affect sperm quality. I think I've read so much on female infertility and what we can do to help, but I've done zero research on the male side, and am beginning to think if there is anything that could affect it from his side.

xoJellyBean · 19/01/2022 17:35

@HopefulGlow sorry to hear af arrived, it never gets easier❀️❀️

@Tinkerbell098 my hubby only had his SA today (I am so nervous for the results) so we aren't sure how he is but he's on CoQ10, a multivitamin and Vit D3 😁

@Lauralozzle yay for peak!! In the tww together... will you test? We only managed to dtd two days before because he had to abstain for his SA so not holding my breath for a bfpπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€£
