We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

Hi @xoJellyBean! I've been quiet too but I am fine thanks. How are you doing?

My SIL had her baby last week (no.3), she had pre-eclampsia which was starting to get dangerous so she delivered 2 weeks early. They got home the following day and we went up north to visit (they are 4 hrs away from us ) and meet new nephew but the day after they were back in hospital as he had breathing problems and turns out he has a chest infection :( So he will be in hospital for the next 5 days getting antibiotics and fluids. So was a bit of a chaotic weekend, from joy to pure fear in less than 24hrs but things are looking a lot better now. It made me realise how scary being a parent can actually be!

I'm working Mon to Thurs this week and then off until the 29th so just praying work will be quieter. DH is going tomorrow away for a few days to play golf but i'm due on in 3 days anyway so not a big deal.

Can't help but feel a little tiny bit sad that this will be our 2nd Christmas where are TTC with no success yet :/ I really hope that by next Christmas we will either be pregnant or already have a baby!

@LA9610 sorry to hear about your nephew. Hope he’s doing well now. What dpo are you and when do you plan to test?

@Tinkerbell098, thank you. Yes he is, hopefully he will be able to go home in the next couple of days!

I'm totally out this month unfortunately, DH works offshore and was away during FW. My next FW starts on the 23rd though so not long to wait. My cycles are quite short so FW starts just a few days after AF. I dont really track ovulation properly, we just dtd every 1-3 times whenever DH is home as the consultant said 2-3 times a week every week of the month is ideal.

Where are you in your cycle at the moment?

Sorry that should say every 1-3 days, not 1-3 times obviously that wouldn't be enough 🙈

I hope everyone’s week is going ok and looking forward to the weekend coming up?

I finally had my call with the GP. He was the same as last time - very helpful and listened to all my concerns and worries and was sorry it had happened again. Unfortunately though as I expected I wouldn’t be eligible for anything yet and said that I wouldn’t require fertility services as I have managed to conceive. If I had a further MC they would do primary investigations then a referral to gynaecology - recurrent miscarriage. I can access the early detection unit if I conceive again for early scans etc.

I also asked about the progesterone and cannot remember exactly the wording other than he said there was a recent article and something like it’s not been approved to be used in general practice or something like that? Perhaps it would be by gynaecology though? 🤷‍♀️

I’m with you on the second Christmas and no baby here, keeping everything crossed as you say for either a baby or a healthy pregnancy this time next year.

@Fra1991 Welcome, of course you are more than welcome here and sorry to hear you’re also in the same situation. The girls in this group have been so supportive to me over this year and I hope we can do the same for you.

@AZ1992X sorry there's no solution out of the call with your doctor. It's so strange isn't it how it all works, some conceive but doesn't stick, others like myself just never been pregnant. Really hard to comprehend at times 🙄

The situation with my nephew took a turn for the worse unfortunately, he needs an operation urgently as he has 2 hernias but his blood is top thin to operate. They are trying to thicken it up otherwise they will need to do a transfusion to operate ☹ they think he may have Marfan syndrome which does run in the family and if he does then it means that my husband may also have it as well and will need to be screened (it's his sister's baby).

Got my fingers crossed though - next year will be our year.

Totally understand how you are feeling and I hope you can get some sort of comfort from speaking to people in the same boat as you!

I found this group when I hit the one year mark too and it has really helped to speak to other women struggling with the same issue.

Hi guys, @LA9610 that I’m so sorry to hear about your nephew - I hope that he can get the help he needs. Will be thinking of him.
@AZ1992X yeah the gp was pretty quick with the tests because it just so happened to be good timing in my cycle when I phoned - so partner has had his sa and me bloods all came back normal and now we are on a waiting list but the letter just said it’s so long now we can’t tell you wait time.

I finish up on the 23rd I can’t wait It’s been a stressful year! Going to be bittersweet as I thought I would at least be pregnant by now and now both my SILs are!

@LA9610 Thank you and it really is isn’t it. Just got to keep positive and as you say hopefully next year will be our year, I’m sure it will.

I broke up on Friday so really starting to get in the festive mood, I’ve not started any wrapping though so that’s my plan today whilst listening to Christmas songs!

@Fra1991 That’s great that you managed to get your tests done quickly and they’ve come back fine. Very annoying about the wait though, I hope you don’t have too long to wait. I have heard of some people including on this group who had been referred and then conceived not long after so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that happens to you.

Not too long to go till you break up now, just a few days left - hoping they go quick for you.

That must be really hard too having two close family members who are pregnant, do they know you have been trying?

Christmas will be with family at ours and I cannot wait, I absolutely love Christmas it’s my favourite! What are your plans?

@AZ1992X yeh it was good the doctor got them done so quickly. My sister is a midwife and she said the same - that quite often people relax once they are on the list and get pregnant. Fingers crossed!

My family know we have been trying but his don’t. I’ve been dreading seeing them with their bumps this Christmas - we are seeing tbem on Xmas eve then my family Xmas days. My mum said she will help us to go private so we will probably look into that in the new year.

How did the wrapping go? I hope you managed to get into the festive spirit! X

Hi all, so sorry for being quiet. I wasn't getting any notifications and moving took over. Big move day is tomorrow and it's also my AF date....whoooo! 😅

Super nauseous today but I think it's all nerves/ excitement/stress of packing and moving. No other symptoms so I think this is another month out 🤷🏼‍♀️

We’ve missed you too and really appreciate you checking in on us to see how we’re getting on!

No sign of AF, I thought either yday or today. I did give in and used one of the really crappy tests I had left and it was negative so it’ll probably be here soon.

Really glad everything’s looking well with the scan, cannot wait to hear about the next one to see if it is a boy.

Sorry to hear your test is negative, if it’s going to stay negative then I hope af comes soon for you - the hanging about is so cruel. Obviously I hope it doesn’t stay neg though!! The timing is good to definitely know before some Christmas bubbles too 🥂

Thank you, the nausea is still kicking my butt a wee bit but I’m told week 16 is the week it’ll magically go away… two weeks to go!

Got my results and it's a pedunculated fibroid!!
Been given the all clear for pregnancy and she was going to start me on clomid for my next cycle but I'm currently curled up crying on my own because my OH says he doesn't want to do this anymore. I'm just so confused and feel so shit 😢😢

@xoJellyBean glad you had some good news re the tests. I’m sorry to hear that you had that with your OH - I remember my partner said we could try the next month and as my fw was the end of that month I was like well what’s 5 days and assumed we could go for it but he was like no next month - I was totally gutted and cried myself to sleep. Now of course it’s taking longer than planned and he can’t believe we will still have months to wait once we even get pregnant! Hopefully a wee rest will put things back into perspective for your OH.

Can I ask if any of you use the ovulation kits? I got a peak but it was so early and definitely didn’t match up with my cm and ovulation pains. I’m still not convinced my hormone levels are normal even though they’ve been checked!

@Fra1991, I don't use the ovulation kits. I have tried to use them before but never managed to get a positive so have loads just sitting in the cupboard - total waste of money! I honestly have no idea if hormone levels could give you a false positive but I have heard stories of people ovulating/conceiving at times they did not even think was possible!

My Christmas was good thanks, bit mad also as my family is huge and we were hosting but it was lovely to spend it with the family - ate and drank to excess :) how was yours?

@xoJellyBean - sorry to hear you are going through that with your OH :( How long have you been trying for? Hope he will come round soon.

I'm in the TWW now as my husband went back offshore yesterday so can't DTD any more but not sure how much chance we actually have as my predicted ovulation day is today, not holding my breath anyway!
