Not started a new thread before so I’ve just gone back through thread 19 and tried to tag everyone whose posted. Apologies if I’ve ended up tagging anyone though that no longer wants to follow the thread. I’m sure there’s been quite a few bfps. Here’s hoping for many more on here too🤞

Got a peak OPK this evening, tend to get it for 24 hours so I think I'll ovulate Wednesday!
This cycle seems to be going very slowly...

re6ecca · 09/11/2021 00:02

Cycles deffo do go slowly haha. I find the tww used to be the worst, but I've been at this so long I've kinda become able to not obsess.
I'm currently 9 days late on my period, so officially "missed" again but deffo not pregnant, no positive test so just waiting it out for it to start. If its the same as last time it will be another ~55 day long cycle so I've got a couple weeks to go. Positives - not having as many periods. Negatives - not having regular periods is shit for conceiving

susiebluebell · 09/11/2021 07:48

Well I've just got up and done a pregnancy test, just to get it out of the way really, and it's positive. I've been very twingey in my belly this month, both around ovulation and for the last couple of days, and AF should have turned up really.

I'm not that excited Confused It's come just a month after my 2nd miscarriage and I really haven't been expecting it or hoping for much. I don't even really want to tell my DP, although I probably should...

susiebluebell · 09/11/2021 07:49

@re6ecca Definitely hear you on the long cycles, omg...

re6ecca · 09/11/2021 09:56

Congrats @susiebluebell! Fingers crossed that you have a healthy 9 months!
Yep long cycles are a bitch. Its fairly new to me as I've always been very regular so I'm confused as to why now. I think its a good shout that they are doing fertility tests on me haha.

CommaStop · 09/11/2021 10:41

Congratulation @susiebluebell and @winkles23 wishing you both a happy and healthy 9 months - although I understand the nervousness.
I'm 4 weeks and 2 days past a very very early miscarriage at 4.5 weeks and my pregnancy tests have never gone negative and aren't even getting any fainter. I had scan in EPU following loss and there was nothing so I don't know why it's taking so long for hcg to go down. Anyone here got any experience with whether you can ovulate with remaining hcg. I ask because I had all the signs of ovulation on the 31st/1st - lots of EWCM, ovulation spotting, some hormonal acne (which I get when my hormones are doing shit) and mood swings (I always get really bad mood swings around ovulation). I'm using boots strips to test for pregnancy hormone to go down and they're not changing at all as you can see in the photo. I'm hoping I did ovulate and we dtd all around the so hoping we covered it but honestly just so confused. I was pregnant for all of a week and still getting positives a month later

USaYwHatNow · 09/11/2021 10:55

@CommaStop I would maybe request a blood test? I had a miscarriage last month and was pregnant for approx 6 weeks and within a week I had stopped bleeding and hcg bloods had returned back to negative, scan also showed empty uterus.

I would assume from the photo that you may have ovulated and conceived again quite quickly? I ovulated three weeks after my miscarriage had finished, so CD20 and had ovulation symptoms pretty similar to yours, however my hcg was negative for this to happen.

I wonder... Are those test strips particularly sensitive? Eg. The early result tests only need to have a small amount of hcg present in the urine for a strong positive to show. I'm wondering whether you have some baseline hcg (which apparently can be normal according to the nurse I saw) which is what they are picking up?

Or you're pregnant again! I would suggest a blood test as if the levels are quite high, and you've had a scan which showed you had miscarried previously, surely that would then indicate a new pregnancy. If they're still low but still technically positive, then for some reason the hcg is hanging around a little longer than may be usual which they could investigate x

CommaStop · 09/11/2021 11:11

Hi @USaYwHatNow - thanks for the reply. The teats are not particularly sensitive - they're 25ml as far as I know which is why I'm using them. The thing is they're not getting lighter but they're not getting darker either so I don't think it's a new pregnancy - yet at least. I probably should get blood test but did have epu scan and there was nothing there so I've been reluctant to bother epu again. I just wish they'd go to negative. My ov signs would have been around day 20 also if counting 1st day pf miscarriage as CD1 but I've googled like a maniac and no one seems to be able to tell me conclusively if you can ovulate with hcg or not. Argh

chasingtherainbow1 · 09/11/2021 11:37

@CommaStop i had a mmc which was at 9 weeks but baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. It took 10 weeks for my hcg to go back to zero! I know it depends on how far along you were but I was told that sometime it unfortunately takes some women longer than others. I found after my first period that the colour of the line went down a lot and then finally went negative a couple of weeks after my period.

Hope it returns to zero for you soon, I know how frustrating it can be!

i123i · 09/11/2021 15:38

Hello all!
Hope it’s ok for me to join. I had a MC at just over 5 weeks recently (they did a blood test as well as a scan, and my blood test showed good HCG levels but super low progesterone levels hence the MC) . Stopped bleeding about 6 days ago, and had a negative pregnancy test yesterday so guessing all the HCG is now out. It was our first month of trying and our first BFP. Obviously now keen to get back on track 🙏🏻

It’s a great support to read all the experiences on this group, and I feel for you all ❤️

MrsFLongbottom · 09/11/2021 15:48

Just joining, I had a miscarriage in June at 12w and have been TTC since, no luck so far. I’ve got a little boy (2) and have been trying since last august apart from when I was pregnant. I think since the mc I’ve been pretty low and haven’t taken proper care of myself, so trying to get back on the wagon so to speak and exercise/eat properly/drink less coffee to see if that helps at all (with mood and ttc!). Right now I feel like I can’t keep going, but obviously there’s no chance of a baby if we don’t try!

Fingers crossed for everyone here xx

bez91 · 09/11/2021 19:43

@susiebluebell really pleased to read that. I'm whispering a tentative congratulations and a hand hold. Have you told DH?

susiebluebell · 11/11/2021 18:07

Thank you so much @bez91 I actually told my best friend first, on the day I tested. I was feeling so upside down and unsure about it! Then the following day, my strange mood was so obvious that I ended up telling him.

He thought it was good news and was all smiley, but was also really supportive about me finding it a bit soon after the 2nd miscarriage, and feeling stressed about it.

As of today I'm still pregnant as far as I know, haven't tested again, but no blood or cramps or anything. So far so good...

bubblybrit · 11/11/2021 21:25

Congratulations @susiebluebell.

Great to hear that things are well with @bez91 @elsimo @SLCxxx!

Been quietly following this thread to check on a few familiar names. I am currently 20 weeks with the anomaly scan scheduled for 17th Nov 🤞

@PumpkinEverything. Congratulations on the arrival of your little one xx

Congrats to any other BFPs that I may have missed....haven’t read the full thread yet!

hewegoagain · 12/11/2021 16:58

Hi all. Big congratulations to everyone who's got their bfps recently 🎊🎊

I've been offline for a few weeks, just sort of processing everything I think. Suffering from lots of anxiety which is causing tachycardia and heart palpitations. So I've been having to medicate for that and hopefully get it under control 😬

AF arrives today so hopefully that'll help as I feel like it sort of puts and end point on the MC. Actually thinking I've been 'lucky' this time round as I miscarried on 15th October (properly not just spotting) and AF has arrived just 29 days later. After my last MC it took a lot longer for things to get back to normal.

We won't be starting TTC again until after Christmas I don't think, actually looking forward to be able to have a drink for Christmas 😂. I need to give myself a break both physically and mentally and try to get back to some semblance of normality. My GP recommend not TTC until I've seen the haemotologist for a full blood scan, but heavens knows how long it'll take to get and appointment for that!

Hope everyone is doing ok xx

susiebluebell · 12/11/2021 20:16

Thanks @bubblybrit and I've got everything crossed for 17 Nov! Thinking of you often!

@hewegoagain I really recognise what you say about anxiety and needing to take a break. I've had terrible ups and downs with the whole TTC journey, some really depressed times when I've wanted to pack it in. I'm so pleased your AF has arrived bang on schedule!

Kelb79 · 13/11/2021 11:58

@susiebluebell I’ve got everything crossed for you!! I can only imagine your fear right now!
This is my first MC and my first proper cycle since and definitely overthinking things already 😩 a BFP, despite being everything that I want, would definitely send me spiralling into all sorts of crazy headspaces!
I’m trying to re-establish my yoga and meditation practise that got lost during the MC to try and chill my head a bit!! It’s not easy!

I’ve had some really down days lately, getting that first AF really hit me 😵‍💫
I’m so scared that was my last chance, I’m 42, no previous children, TTC for 2 years prior to the MC, it’s all feeling just a bit hopeless in my world right now…. How do you get past that??! 😩😩

susiebluebell · 13/11/2021 18:07

@Kelb79 thank you! I did another test this morning and still pregnant 4 days later! Definitely not as carried away and overjoyed as I was with my first pregnancy/MC (so cruel) but generally feeling good about it.

I've found I can't stop the ups and downs, you just have to go through them. It can be very mixed - I want this, I don't want it, I want it but I'm scared it'll go wrong...

As to your specific situation, 42 isn't unusual these days, healthcare is so good and we are generally healthier too. And 2 years of trying would qualify you to press your GP for referral to a gynae and blood tests (sorry if you're doing this already, I'm forgetful!) although it's not unheard of either.

I remember my first AF after my first miscarriage was the worst. It does get better!

USaYwHatNow · 13/11/2021 19:54

Is it normal to feel a bit scared in the cycle after a miscarriage?

I think I'm 10dpo judging by my temperatures and I'm starting to get cramps and sore boobs on and off, and this is exactly how I felt last month when I fell pregnant. I knew something was off as usually I only get cramps immediately before AF arrives and only get breast soreness the night before. Then I got a BFP the day after AF was due.

Had anyone else found that their AF symptoms changed in the cycles after miscarriage?

I'm scared to get excited. I'm definitely not symptom spotting as the cramps are enough for me to think my period is coming and my boobs are stabby enough to make me say ough every now and again 😂

My LP is usually 13 days long so I guess I'll have to wait til Thursday to see what happens.

I'd be really interested to hear everyone else's experience with cycles post miscarriage, and if you noticed any changes in your PMS symptoms?

Tinypeanut1224 · 14/11/2021 07:53

Hey Ladies,

I'm wanting some advice if possible.
I've just suffered a miscarriage this week at 6 weeks. This is my 3rd this year (I had one in April at 7 weeks and one in September at 5 weeks).

As I've now had 3 consecutive miscarriages it means that I have been referred to a specialist to have tests done to see what is going on.

My issue is that the appointment for the doctor is likely to be 8 weeks away at least and then I'll have to wait for results (I have no idea how long this will take) and I just really don't want to wait to keep trying. Am I silly to think like this?

From what I read, it seems it's more likely that results come back to showing nothing wrong rather than highlighting an issue. So should I just keep trying and see?

Feel it's important to note that I have a 17 month old son who was conceived the first month we tried and breezed through pregnancy. Am I just having a bout of bad luck?

Gahhh my head is like scrambled egg Confused TIA x

bez91 · 14/11/2021 08:08

@USaYwHatNow it really varied for me month to month. No BFPs the same and some BFP symptoms the same as BFNs so it's anyone's guess unfortunately. Hopefully you notice some pattern but it never worked for me.

@Tinypeanut1224 sorry to hear of your losses, I also had 3 losses at 7,11 and 5 weeks. I got referred to the RMC after the last MC, the wait was 15 weeks for a telephone appointment so I'd say 8 weeks is a pretty good referral time. I fell pregnant the month before my appointment and having that appointment pending allowed me access to the clinic still to get prescribed a lot of meds that sustained (or helped to) the pregnancy through the first trimester despite only having a few previous test results from my GP and AMH and SA from a private clinic. I'm now 14 weeks. There's no reason to stop trying at all unless you want to 😊

susiebluebell · 14/11/2021 10:12

Guys I need a handhold. DP and I had sex this morning, and when I got up, some blood came out. Bright red so fresh, not very heavy, but enough that it made a stain and I had to run to the loo.

My heart is sinking... I really don't want this to be a 3rd miscarriage.

USaYwHatNow · 14/11/2021 10:33

@susiebluebell. Here ❤️ don't be too discouraged. The cervix is so vascular and with the extra blood flow there it may just be that one of the small capillaries has been disrupted, especially if it has settled and you haven't got any pain. It's so scary ❤️ keep an eye and speak to your GP or EPU if it continues

Kelb79 · 14/11/2021 11:14

@susiebluebell really try not to worry. We had sex the night before my MC (which makes it sound like you should worry, but don’t!!!) and I instantly blamed that, I honestly still struggle not to. BUT…. I was told by so many professionals that a little bleed from the cervix is very possible after sex but that it does not cause MC. I obsessed about it thinking it was our fault but it was just really bad timing. Sex does not cause MC. But it does often cause a little bleeding so I’m totally praying that your bleed was just a little disruption of the cervix and everything is ok 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sending you so so much love xxxxxx

Tinypeanut1224 · 14/11/2021 11:47

@bez91 - so sorry for your losses and thanks so much for your very reassuring reply.
I was told at the EPU this week (while I was there for my most recent miscarriage) to try not to get pregnant before my appointment because I wouldn't be able to have the tests done if I did which stressed me out as I don't want to stop TTC. However from what you've said, it sounds like if you're in the system and you get pregnant they will see you in order to try and sustain the pregnancy? I think we'll probably keep trying if that's the case?
It's just so hard to know what to do for the best but stopping trying seems counterintuitive to me, we want a baby and the only way to potentially have one is to try and make one 😅
