Not started a new thread before so I’ve just gone back through thread 19 and tried to tag everyone whose posted. Apologies if I’ve ended up tagging anyone though that no longer wants to follow the thread. I’m sure there’s been quite a few bfps. Here’s hoping for many more on here too🤞

@OneDay86 yes they have, it's now in November, 6 months since I had my HSG, absolutely can't wait for the answers, really need to know now. I only realised how tense I am about this appointment when it was cancelled and my body came out of anxious mode!
I'm sorry to hear about your loss 💔 but I'm glad you're at the top of the waiting list, they can be so long!
Fingers crossed that soon you get your take-home baby.

@susiebluebell yes although most treatment really does hinge on the appointment so I'll update when I've had that as to what the plan is.

Just checking in on how everyone is doing? Happy New Year all. Here’s hoping 2023 will be the year for us!

@re6ecca how are you getting on? I can’t believe they cancelled again. Have you now had your appointment?

I’ve had my first round of ivf. Unfortunately it wasn’t successful. We did get 2 embryos, which is promising but they weren’t very good quality. Put them both back in but neither stuck sadly. On to round 2 later this month so fingers crossed x

I’ve also been reading back through the thread a little bit this morning, and I don’t know how but I completely missed your last post @Mustkeepgoing2 I’m not sure if you’ll see this now, but thank you so much for sharing your journey. I’m sorry you had to go through so much heartache but I’m so happy that you got your happy ending ❤️ Your story gives me hope and to be honest so much of it resonates with me. Even the hope of IVF being that magic wand as you quite accurately put it. The journey is such a rollercoaster of emotions. I hope you and baby are both doing amazingly. Your story gives me hope and encouragement, which isn’t always easy to find, thank you again x

Also how are you getting on @susiebluebell? Hope you’re doing well too. Your posts always give so much positivity. I’m definitely feeling hopeful for this year 😊 x

Hi all, would be great to join if possible.
I’m 33 TTC baby #1. I got pregnant first cycle in October but had an early miscarriage at around 5 weeks. I’m now on my third cycle trying and really confused what’s happening with my body. I’m CD27 of a 31 day cycle.
Have had really sore boobs for about 5 days, been v tired (but it has been a busy Christmas), and had mild cramps. Today I had some spotting on going to the toilet. It’s so difficult to know what’s my period coming and what could be a pregnancy symptom as I never used to pay attention to things such as sore boobs when we weren’t trying.
I know implantation bleeding isn’t that common and I think I usually get some spotting before AF properly starts, but would be great to hear your experiences of similar symptoms around this time in the cycle.
Wishing you all the best on your TTC journey!

Happy new year lovelies!! It’s lovely to see this thread resurrected ❤️
my journey has been as crap as ever!!
had a round of IVF that failed as I ovulated early. Did a second round straight away on the clinics advice but my ovaries hadn’t recovered properly so only got 1 embryo. Did a third round to try to bank more embryos to send for PGT-A testing, got 2 more. But none were viable - all aneuploid 😞
devastating!
we’re now looking at donor egg as it seems to be an egg issue. We’ve had to put it off for a moment due to finances but are hoping to get to transfer around April time.
its been a challenge, we’ve argued a lot and come really close to splitting up. We’re still not brilliant but we’re slowly getting there!

@OneDay86 sending you so much love ❤️❤️❤️ I know exactly how you’re feeling right now xxxxx

@Djockey101 I’m so sorry you find yourself here. The worst club but with the best people. I hope things come good for you xxxxx

@Kelb79 I’m so sorry to hear that, what an emotional rollercoaster. And it’s no wonder that it’s tested your relationship - a huge amount of stress to be under. April will come around quicker than you think and I’m crossing my fingers for you it’s successful with a donor egg! 🙏🏻 If you don’t mind me asking (and sorry if you’ve posted this before and I missed it), how long have you been TTC and is this #1? xx

@Djockey101 TTC for 4 years nearly since 2019. No previous children for either of us. I’m now 43 and OH is 50. We started having investigations in 2021 (they were held up by Covid 😐). Nothing was found. Then I got pregnant naturally but lost it at 9 weeks in September 2021. After that my AMH dropped a lot so we went ahead with the IVF. Hideous journey but you battle on don’t ya?! 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

Hi @re6ecca I’m glad you finally had your appointment! That’s good news about your tubes being clear, but so sorry to hear about the PCOS diagnosis. Is there anything they can do to help this though? If our next (and last) nhs ivf round doesn’t work this month then we too will be looking at private treatment x

I’m so sorry for your loss @Djockey101 and that you find yourself here. I hope this forum offers you some comfort, the people on here are lovely and so supportive. As far as symptoms, I find pregnancy and pms symptoms so similar it’s hard to tell a lot of the time (doesn’t stop me trying to symptom spot every month though 😂). Plus each of my pregnancies have been different with early symptoms. It’s so frustrating not being able to tell what’s going on. I often spot a day before my period arrives, but my last pregnancy I spotted for a couple of days and turns out it was implantation bleeding (never had it in my previous 2 pregnancies). How are you feeling now? Really hope you get your bfp soon x

Hi @Kelb79 lovely to hear from you! Gosh, it sounds like you’ve had a really tough time with it all. I’m so sorry to hear your ivf rounds haven’t been successful. I know how soul destroying it is when it doesn’t work and my heart goes out to you ❤️❤️ I think for me, deep down I was hoping ivf would be the magic answer to all my problems, so it’s heart wrenching when I realised it’s not 💔

My doctor also thinks ours may be an egg issue (apparently OH has super sperm). He said if we get poor quality embryos again on our next round it would be most certainly due to egg quality rather than just bad luck. So we too may look at egg donation at some point. That would be our next step. We would try one more round with our own eggs first but privately, maybe a different protocol. This whole journey is so difficult, the fertility struggles, and then losses 😔 Ivf unfortunately adds a whole new level of emotional anguish to it. But I honestly believe it will all be worth it one day. Thinking of you and really hope April comes round quickly for you ❤️ x

Thank you @OneDay86

We finally had our little boy in November and it really has brightened our world again. It was a very hard journey and honestly I found it very very hard every time people got pregnant around me. Some people can departmentalise their hurt but I couldn’t and I lost friends along the way because of it but I also learnt who I could truly rely on and developed much deeper friendships with people that truly shone through during this journey and to be honest I am grateful for that as you kind of get rid of the dead wood along the way. A lot of those people that became much closer friends were actually people that had babies whilst I was TTC so it wasn’t that I couldn’t be around people that were pregnant it was more that I just realised who really cared for me and who didn’t and equally who I wanted to be around.

It was such a hard road but a road I would walk a hundred times over if it led me to him.

Prior to this successful pregnancy I did three disastrous rounds of IVF on a variety of protocols and mine was also a low AMH and egg issue. The four embryos I got out of the total three rounds were low quality and when my consultant sat me down at the end of the third round and said perhaps to just try naturally or consider other options it did send me to a very dark place as I expected IVF to be a magic wand to a baby and for me it wasn’t. I was therefore completely gobsmacked when I then was pregnant naturally within that same month and apart from my overly anxious mind following me around the entire pregnancy it went smoothly and without a hitch.

I truly believe for me some months my eggs are the quality needed to make a baby and some months they aren’t and it was almost like constantly throwing a dice and hoping for a 6 and finally after years of rolling it finally getting it and getting the good quality egg and that’s why IVF didn’t work for me because those months the eggs weren’t the quality needed.

I personally found IVF extremely hard as the TTC month is broken down into even smaller waiting games, the follicles growing, the egg retrieval, the fertilising and waiting to see if embryos develop and the quality and then the two week wait if the they do. It is very hard so be kind to yourself. I wasn’t, I was horrible to myself and blamed myself for something everyone else seemed to do naturally.

It is such a hard road and even though you have no other choice but to be brave know that you really really are and that when it DOES happen for you one way or another you will not only be growing your baby but you will realise the old you is coming back to. The one that doesn’t breakdown the whole month into TTC chunks and is completely consumed by the TTC journey and desperately wanting your baby.

I promise it will be worth it and you will look back and be so proud of yourself for what you overcame.

Sending you all lots of love, strength and hope xxx

Ah @OneDay86 I'm so sorry to hear about your egg issues! Hopefully your Next transfer will work & you have a strong little egg!
Private is so expensive so I hope you don't have to do that!
They've put me on metformin and given me tablets to induce periods when they don't happen naturally with a view to sorting my cycle out! It seems to be working as I have the most wild hormonal symptoms at the moment 😅. Beyond that they'll do nothing to actually induce ovulation no ivf etc.
@Kelb79 I'm sorry to hear that your journey has been going crap too 💔
@Djockey101 welcome to the thread! I've never had implant bleeds, only ever early period spotting!
I hope that it turns out better for you the next time and that your miscarriage was a fluke!
I've been ttc #1 since Dec 2019, first miscarriage Feb 2020, 2nd Jul 2020, 3rd Oct 2020, 4th Mar 2021, diagnosed infertility/pcos as of Dec 2022.

I’ve got an update too. My 2nd round of ivf was worse than our first - it only resulted in one viable embryo. But it worked! I’m happy to say I’m pregnant too, only a little ahead of you at 7 weeks 2 days. 2.5 years and 3 miscarriages to get here.

So happy that the letrozole worked for you. Feels so surreal to write all this. Goes to show you never know what it just round the corner xx

Hi, not been on this thread for a very long time! But thought I'd give a quick update on myself too. I had 3 miscarriages between March 2021 and January 2022. I am currently 35, almost 36 weeks pregnant and hoping this might finally be our type! Glad I didn't give up when I felt like it would never happen!

Thank you so much @Mustkeepgoing2 and @susiebluebell 😊 Still can’t believe it and that the baby will be due this year! Super anxious at the moment and just trying to take it day by day. This is now the furthest we’ve ever gotten. Is there ever a time when you stop worrying in the pregnancy… or only when baby arrives safely??

@re6ecca thank you! How are you doing? Can’t believe how close we are in dates - I’m currently due 19th of October 😊 Just had my viability scan with the ivf clinic on Thursday. Baby looked good so they’ve discharged us from the clinic, which feels very surreal. Now have an appointment with the midwife on the 21st and a reassurance scan with the hospital on the 30th. Feels so long away! Hope all is going well with you x

Congratulations @chasingtherainbow1 ❤️ Thanks for sharing the happy update - thats amazing news. I’m so happy to hear baby is nearly here!! I bet you can’t wait to meet them. Do you know what you’re having?

@OneDay86 Yes it's all lovely and also surreal, isn't it? I think I stopped worrying around 5-6 months. And even then I had the odd freaked out moment up till pretty much labour. Just random intrusive thoughts that baby would have died without me realising. Very tough but those thoughts only lasted a few minutes at a time. Once you start growing and can feel the baby, it's much more enjoyable I'd say 😁
