biglips one thing I do have in my favour is the amount of bd'ing we've been doing, poor DH is exhausted ! Guess we'll just have to keep going til either AF of bfp arrive, just in case!

Hi all, congrats to biglips and hello to the newbies [waves emoticon]

all okay here, still not using opks but am on cd 14 so need to carry on with the serious bd'ing.

Have told dh that i am in the zone (easier to use crap sports jargon with him rather than bamboozle him with gynae stuff - his eyes glaze over!!) Unfortunately this means bd'ing in the early hours of the morning for the next 10 days or so as he works 7pm-3am. I'm not sure who this is worse for - dh having to perform when he has just got in from work or me being woken from deep sleep and having to get in the mood....?

argh that Af is a sneaky one. I don't think I can call yesterday CD1 - she's disappeared again. hopefully I'll be able to be CD1 today. I'm going backwards on the list! that has to be wrong..

missush - we call it "the sex window" for similar reasons.. though last month the window was painted shut by some dodgy builders.

glasto - I don't think I can call myself your cycle buddy after all - TEW has reverted to teeny spotting after a slight gush yesterday (sorry, TMI I know) and if it carries on like this I won't really even be able to count TODAY as CD1. This is really beginning to get annoying.
Anyone got any tips for giving a lazy AF a kick up the bum?? I just want it to start PROPERLY ARGHHHHHHH

pistachio I'd start around day cd11 or 12 if I were you due to short cycles (lucky you !) I'd also warn you that I have now read loads of posts on MN whereby women get no +ve opks but have successfully conceived the same month so they are a hit or a miss. I have given up with them this month as kept peeing on sticks until yesterday as thought ovulation late but appears to be AWOL....
Having said that my friend used them and they were +ve every month so who knows !

spink I can empathise with TEW dragging her heels - I get 3-6 days of spotting before she actually puts in a proper appearance - sooo frustrating esp when you start to wonder about imp bleeding... then woosh she arrives !

I'm only on CD12! God I hope this cycle isnt an 88 dayer like last time. It's driving me insane. If it is then I wont ovulate till about day44. Thats AGES away

Just had a look at that ovulation calender thingie but it only goes up to day40. Thats no use is it. stupid cycle-ist website

I dont mean to soundsintrusive or a total fool but wat does CDx (x being a number) mean? also when people say im xx+x (x being numbers too) what does that mean? apologies if not right place for question

Hi broody cd = cycle day. I think xx+x = pregnancy weeks+days i.e, 12(weeks)+5(days) I could be wrong though. I know CD is correct though

pistachio I know exactly what you mean. I dislike TEW with a vengeance! She hangs around for 7 days and as I have a relatively short cycle it isn't pleasant. All the signs point to ovulation around day 16 which doesn't give me a long enough luteal phase in my opinion.

Still, I'm going to try to remain optimistic and believe that this time next year I'll be nursing a bub. The power of positive thinking and all that

fruitloop I don't think that ovulation neccessarily happens mid-cycle unless you have approx 28 day cycle. The luteal phase is apparently always between 10 and 16 days (this is the post-ov phase) so if this were the case then last time you'd have ovulated approx day 70. With any luck your scan will help you understand what is going on - how long is it until you have the scan ? Are you doing temps or opks to try and catch the egg ? Fingers crossed for a shorter cycle this time .

Hi mibbes Bloody hell, day 70!
Well my blood test for testosterone and ov function came back "normal" and my scan is on 4th Feb so not too long. Prob is my letter states "transvaginal probe" which I wasnt expecting. I thought it was gonna be a regular ultrasound sort of scan. Sounds scary! at least they will be able to find out if anything's wrong (which there clearly is!) Not doing any temping yet. Dont wanna seem obsessed to DP!

Ikwym fruitloop - I have also been holding off the temping in an attempt not to seem obsessive. However, assuming af gets me in the next week I'm going to have to explain to dp about my non-hatching fears and how taking my temp is the only way for me to prove it one way or the other. My thermometer beeps so can't do it discreetly as I get up first and you are supposed to still be in bed when you take it ! Your scan sounds a bit nasty - maybe best to treat it as a "taster" of what is to come in the coming months when you are pregnant

Hope your tests go OK fruitloop. I agree with Mibbles sentiments, think of it as practice for undignified pregnancy/labour examinations.
