@CShandy01 don't tell me you have two step children too!? 😂😂😂

CShandy01 · 06/09/2021 19:15

@newtolineofduty no I don't - just TTC baby no.2 and as I suspect this cycle has been unsuccessful (only time will tell!) I'll be on cycle 4 once AF shows up. Also got pregnant straight away first time round.

Honestly since I threw away all the tests and we won't be ordering anymore OPK's, it's like a huge relief and weight off my shoulders Smile

hoola23 · 06/09/2021 19:22

@CShandy01 thank you! Yeah it was a super special moment! I'm not sure if it has sunk in! I'm back at work today so have been crazy busy, esp now schools have returned arghhhh! But then I keep have flint inn moments of OMG I'm pregnant!! Literally ZERO symptoms but it's so early! Apart from the back pain I feel completely normal, not even tired or anything!

That's SO good about abolishing the sticks! Well done! If you have to (hopefully you don't!) I think you'll enjoy it more next month. You'll have the rough idea for timings where you can increase but just DTD to DTD, no other purpose, reconnect with yourself and Your partner. It sounds like you've had a lot to carry recently, I'm so sorry and I totally agree with you about our bodies almost protecting ourselves when it's just not the right time yet, close but not just yet. And when it does happen, you don't have all the other stressors impacting your well-being and emotions. You've got this! ❤️

hoola23 · 06/09/2021 19:25

Hey @plantbasedlondoner that's fab about your cycles being regular! Best of luck! ❤️

CShandy01 · 06/09/2021 19:32

Bloody hell @hoola23 you need to write inspirational cards for people. You had me welling up at your lovely words 😂❤️

hoola23 · 06/09/2021 19:50

@CShandy01 oh sorry, don't want to make you cry hun!! It's all true though! I think it's my therapeutic background🤣🤣🤣 I can never turn it off! I love helping people so much!

newtolineofduty · 06/09/2021 19:56

@CShandy01 what's making you think that-just an instinct? I learned cycle 2 that (for me) instincts mean nothing!!! Sounds a great plan to forget the sticks though! I planned to forget them this month but in the end it was like I'd not done them because we couldn't do it on those days and I feel like a weight has been lifted too! So will deffo consider it in a couple of months if not next month. I was just thinking it might be helpful if we go down a fertility route to be familiar with my cycles!

@hoola23 that first couple of weeks of no symptoms is very surreal! They should kick in soon!!!!! Xxx

CShandy01 · 06/09/2021 20:15

@newtolineofduty I'm not sure really, just a gut instinct I guess. Getting a few spots here and there, which always happens before a period, and then the cramping has happened too in an intense way. Again, usually what happens right before my period. Then all of a sudden everything stops and that day AF arrives in full flow 😩 I guess we'll see what happens, but I'm not holding out much hope.

@hoola23 if it's any help I actually didn't have ANY symptoms for the first 5-6 weeks of my first pregnancy. Then all of a sudden I used to get morning sickness pretty much everyday for about the next 8 weeks. And that was it. No sore back. No cramps. No mood swings. No cravings. Just the morning sickness, which literally felt like I had motion sickness. And then after 10 mins it was gone. Dead weird!!

newtolineofduty · 06/09/2021 20:20

@CShandy01 when is AF due? I hate those few days in the lead up 😢 xxx

CShandy01 · 06/09/2021 20:23
@CShandy01 when is AF due? I hate those few days in the lead up 😢 xxx
Either tomorrow or Wednesday, it depends if I ovulated day 15 or 16 as I'm not too sure.

Put it this way, if AF isn't here by Friday then I will post a photo of my ugly mug doing this face 😱

hoola23 · 06/09/2021 20:26

@newtolineofduty @CShandy01 god, I'm reallllly not looking forward to the sickness thing. I'm not good when I feel like crap and I fear that will be me for the next 3 months🤣🙄

newtolineofduty · 06/09/2021 20:43

Aww @CShandy01 fingers crossed for you!!!! Have you tested already I can't remember? Xxx

CShandy01 · 06/09/2021 21:04

@newtolineofduty

Aww *@CShandy01* fingers crossed for you!!!! Have you tested already I can't remember? Xxx
I tested at 11dpo and it was negative, so I told myself I wouldn't test unless AF didn't make a show. So if there's still no sign Thursday or possibly Friday, I'll test again 🙂
newtolineofduty · 06/09/2021 21:13

Agh yes of course @CShandy01 x you're doing well not to test xxx

hoola23 · 07/09/2021 15:22

Hope everyone is doing ok!! So I did a test on my CB fertility monitor this morning which said not pregnant and then a normal clear blue digital(the weeks one) which also said not pregnant!! Neither were FMU but surely these would be positive by now! My two FRERs were 100% positive on Sunday as was my clear blue early detection digital one - bit confused now?!

hoola23 · 07/09/2021 15:24

I'm 12DPO today. AF would be due on weds or Thursday. Is it just still too early for these tests?

CShandy01 · 07/09/2021 15:36

@hoola23 it may be that the clear blue aren't as quick to pick up maybe? When I got pregnant with DD I only tested when I had missed AF, and the cheap pee on a stick was super super faint. I mean like I had to squint to see it. It got darker over an hour or so, but I knew that could just be dried dye. Then I got the clear blue weeks detector the same day and it came out pregnant 1-2 weeks. This was probably a day or 2 after AF was due, I can't remember exactly.

I would maybe wait until Thursday to test again using clear blue? I'm not sure how sensitive they are as tests. But blue dye is notorious for being worse to test with if that makes sense 🙂

QueenLagertha · 07/09/2021 15:49

@hoola23 clearblue is nowhere near as sensitive as FRER. I think FRER detects 6miu/ml while clearblue digital is something like 25miu/ml.
I didn't do cheapie or clearblue until after period was due.

hoola23 · 07/09/2021 16:24

@CShandy01 @QueenLagertha thank you ladies! I keep forgetting that I actually found out at 8/9dpo so I'm not even 4 weeks yet! Will try to relax until Friday which would be at least one day after AF and then see. On my way to tell my mum!! ❤️ hope everyone is ok today!

MrsRosaline · 07/09/2021 21:29

I agree with what everyone has said @hoola23 ... wait a little longer and see. Fingers crossed for you! X

newtolineofduty · 07/09/2021 22:12

@hoola23 that sounds really stressful. I'd retest with a frer and as long as those lines still look good I wouldn't worry!

How are you doing @MrsRosaline? Xx

MrsRosaline · 07/09/2021 22:45

I'm good @newtolineofduty. 7DPO for me. Not sure what happened today, I'm wondering if I picked my daughter up awkwardly, because my lower back is absolutely killing me. I usually get backache as my period approaches but this is way worse. DD was also back to back labour so I do struggle a lot with my back!! I do remember backache being an early symptom for me, around 5 weeks last time... this is probably too early to be anything significant. How are you getting on??

OP posts:
hoola23 · 07/09/2021 23:04

Thank you @MrsRosaline @newtolineofduty just gonna wait it out and check on the weekend. Don't have any pain or bleeding so we shall see!

@MrsRosaline my back is still killing me, like a pulled muscle pain right in the middle of my lower back but really deep inside, if that makes sense! This started at 9dpo too x

newtolineofduty · 08/09/2021 06:53

Ooh that could be a good sign then @MrsRosaline!

I'm good thank you, 10dpo but honestly haven't given it much thought! Feel totally different this month. Looking back I think my luteal phase tends to be around 15 days so I think AF should arrive Tuesday if it's going to come! I'm not going to test early xx what do you plan to do this month re testing? X

hereforthefood · 08/09/2021 11:20

Do any of you ladies know anything about cycles after coming off the pill? Although I'm regular my periods seem to be very inconsistent.

My last withdrawal bleed was completely normal, followed by 3 separate instances of spotting throughout the first month. My first real period began with a day of spotting, followed by a day of nothing, followed by 2 more days of spotting, followed by 4 days of actual bleeding, followed by 5 more days of spotting (?!). This past month I've had another 2 instances of spotting, and the period I'm currently on began, again, with a day of spotting, followed by a day of nothing, followed by 2 more days of spotting, followed by 1 day of regular flow, I'm now on day 2 of sporadic flow which has been getting lighter since yesterday midday (day 1 of sporadic flow).

I'm not sure what to think really? I know it's still early since coming off the pill but last time I came off this same pill (a couple of years ago) my old periods came back immediately and I didn't spot very often (only occasionally during ovulation or the day before af began).

I'm concerned the spotting means my progesterone is low. I'm also worried that my incredibly light periods mean that the lining of my womb isn't building up enough to allow for a little egg to implant in there. It's actually upsetting me that maybe we did catch it last month but it couldn't hold onSad
I'm 23 and this is my 3rd cycle off the pill, does anyone know how common stuff like this is at my age, or have any advice about what could potentially be up with my body?

Sorry about the long message btw! I'm bored at work and have basically nothing to do except think about TTC!
