@hoola23 it was a mixture of things if I'm honest. I've always walked a lot so then I started pushing DD in the pram for at least 3 miles a day.

Once I'd lost about 2 stone I wanted to lose another 2, so I took the step and did the 1:2 diet for about 6-7 weeks, just to shrink my stomach mostly and get used to smaller portions. It was HORRIFIC at first (600 calories a day) but some of the food was lush. Their bars and shakes are really quite tasty, main meals a bit shit 😂

So then after that I've basically stayed the same weight by using DD's small plates and making sure I don't snack as much. If I'm hungry I try to eat fruit and I drink so much water it's mental. I may put on 3lbs here and there but I usually use it within a week. And I still walk a lot and before the back incident I did the couch to 5k....never thought I'd ever run! Xx

CShandy01 · 16/09/2021 18:52

Meant to say 1:1 diet there 😂😂

God I've got some E4 binging to do!!!!

hoola23 · 16/09/2021 19:07

@CShandy01 that's what I'm doing! How funny! I lost like 4 stone back in 2014 on the diet and then over the years I've put on and on and on and on again🤣 it's the only diet that I've done that has actually shifted any weight! I know it's not a long term thing and it's super hard to stick to but with calorie control ones I just take the piss 🤣 so I need to do this for 3 months to drop as much as poss and then control my food like a normal human!

Well done for keeping it off, that's the hardest part I think. Saw my consultant this morning as I had started the diet before I got the BFP and then had to stop obviously and had already lost 11lb in a couple weeks. I don't let her tell me my weight but she said I hadn't regained it all so I was pleased about that at least cos I really have eaten like a pig over the last month or so. First day back and I'm on plan! X

CShandy01 · 16/09/2021 21:36

@hoola23 it's amazing because they tell you that you start at step 1 of 600 calories and then build yourself up to eating real food and more calories. I actually had to have 800 calories because of my job (I was granted an extra banana, how lucky!) It deffo helped me to shift the last bit of weight, and to do it quickly, but I was craving proper food. I don't really follow any diet now, I just weigh myself 3 times a week and keep an eye on things. Always make my own lunch for work and don't have any extra at office snacks, just the ones I take in.

I found for my exercise was key. If I didn't do the exercise I would have put on so much weight. Loved the Les Mills body combat especially. Can't wait to get back on the treadmill next week, even though I it'll be light walking.

Honestly I think when you just like do a bit of time purely for you, your mind set is so different. You're so determined and it's so good to feel like that - I got a proper buzz last time. And when you've had that buzz, it really really lasts a long time 🙂🙂 xx

plantbasedlondoner · 17/09/2021 13:09

How is everyone doing today? I am feeling really positive today and I think the sunshine is what is helping :) I have also been exercising more but I did notice that the first month I went back to the gym I didn't ovulate so want to be careful not to overdo it either.

newtolineofduty · 17/09/2021 13:39

Hey @plantbasedlondoner! That's great you're feeling positive!!! Please share your vibes!!!!!! We're just back from holiday so I'm abit down in the dumps but have a lovely weekend ahead which helps, including body combat tomo for the first time in over a year! I know I'll feel better for that!! Xxx

CShandy01 · 17/09/2021 14:54

@plantbasedlondoner the weather is such a great way to boost your mood when it's sunny isn't it?!?! I've really had a spring in my step today. Loved being outside and having a picnic in the park (despite eating two lunches 😂😂) xx

CShandy01 · 17/09/2021 14:55

@newtolineofduty how was your holiday? Where did you go??

plantbasedlondoner · 17/09/2021 15:23

@newtolineofduty Glad you have a nice weekend planned after a holiday - always helps beat the blues :) I love Body Combat. Always feel so strong after!

@CShandy01Ooh a picnic in the park sounds absolutely lovely! I am seeing a girl friend tonight (one of my few girl friends who isn't pregnant or with child!)

newtolineofduty · 17/09/2021 16:15

@CShandy01 we went to center parcs! It was soooo lovely! Tiring but relaxing at the same time! Xx

hoola23 · 17/09/2021 20:32

Hi ladies! So glad it's Friday! Woo!
Still on my diet @CShandy01 I mean it's only day 2 but the first 5 days are always the hardest! So much nice food in the house and my DH literally eats all day and of course, keeps his pretty good dad bod in shape. Typical. I look at a piece of bread and gain a stone.

@newtolineofduty glad you had a lovely trip! It's always a bit of a downer coming back to reality isn't it!

@plantbasedlondoner love your positive vibes!! We need to keep that over the next month in prep for all the BFPs!! I have no idea what's going on with my cycle now. No longer bleeding, it literally lasted only two days and was so light! I'm now having loads of fertile CM but cheap opk was negative. Gonna be a long month I think🤣

newtolineofduty · 19/09/2021 15:49

Hey ladies! Hope you're all good. So, I'm freaking out today! Usually I ovulate CD 13/14/15 but last month it was day 11. Today I'm on CD7 and I've had EWCM!!!! I haven't checked with my fertility monitor (will do first thing tomo) but I'm freaking out. I read if you ovulate before day 11 the egg isn't mature enough! I usually only get EWCM at most one day before ovulation!

I started taking ubiquinol last month and am wondering if that's affected anything as my cycles have always been like clockwork. I'm panicking I'm perimenopausal or something xx

CShandy01 · 19/09/2021 17:17

@newtolineofduty I would deffo say that what you've been taken has probably increased the amount of EWCM over a longer span to increase chances of fertilisation, since the sperm prefers this type of CM. My friend had exactly the same happen to her and she said (TMI here so sorry) that she literally felt like she was weeing herself with the amount that came out over 2 days.

I would make a note over the next few days. It may be that it eventually goes clear and then that's the sort of "prime" type for ovulation.

CShandy01 · 19/09/2021 17:19

@hoola23 how's the diet been this weekend? I went mental because there was a free bar at my friends wedding and I couldn't count how much Prosecco and gin I drank 😂😂 having a dirty pizza and cake night tonight too...classic hangover food!!

hoola23 · 19/09/2021 17:54

@newtolineofduty I really wouldn't worry hun! The more fertile CM the better. I usually get it from cd7/8 all the way until I ovulate which can be 14/15 and it's increases more around that time. You'll prob get a high on the cb monitor as it's the oestrogen that causes it. X

hoola23 · 19/09/2021 17:56

@CShandy01 omg I'm so jealous!!!! Not of the hangover, just the dirty hangover food 🤣 it's the best feeling when your hungover isn't it!!
Diet is going well, still on plan! I did have a few bites of some dhal I made for DH, have to test it right! Was literally a couple mouthfuls to check the flavouring!! X

newtolineofduty · 19/09/2021 18:20

Thank you @hoola23 and @CShandy01 that reassures me x I automatically go straight to worst case scenario 😫 xxx

hoola23 · 19/09/2021 19:53

@newtolineofduty we all do!! I'm in two minds about whether I bother trying to conceive this month and just wait for a proper cycle to start again next month. I don't know if it's the fear of another chemical or just not in the mood to try again. I desperately want a baby still, I just feel like the drive to try has gone! We will still have sex this month and we won't bother using protection but maybe just avoid the peak days? I know this sounds really stupid but if I can help it, I'd rather not have a winter baby. Winter for us is always so hectic with loads of birthdays and obv Xmas! So then I panic and think we should start again ASAP as it could take months again!

CShandy01 · 19/09/2021 20:50

@hoola23 just so whatever you feel is best for you. Why not just have some fun when you feel like without using protection and see what happens? Forget about the "could happen" and "might happen". I think with the whole TTC thing you actually forget that you and your other half had a connection before all of this EWCM tracking 😂😂 it's very very easy to sort of get swept up in everything and forget the simple things. Like today DH and I just laid in bed mid afternoon during DD's nap and we were like...OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING! Then the cat came back and bit us, but before that it was lovely 😂😂

CShandy01 · 19/09/2021 20:51

@newtolineofduty honestly when I genuinely started like looking at what my body does before and after ovulation, I was adamant that my cervix couldn't open and that it was in the wrong place and that I had somehow lost it in my vagina.....😩😩 it's so easy to just assume the worst!

FirsttimeEm · 19/09/2021 21:00

Hi everyone, we have decided the time is right to start TTC. At the moment I'm just sort of going with the flow and seeing what happened as this is our first proper cycle of trying. Has anyone got any tips that may help, tracking my cycle and have tested couple of day before untill a day or two after I'm meant to ovulate and it's all been negative! How often should I be testing to begin with?

hoola23 · 19/09/2021 21:50

@CShandy01 I think you're right, just gonna actually have sex, proper sex for the first time in about a year! 🤣🤣 my cat is a little shit too! I can't shut any doors in my house as she'll cry constantly. She doesn't want to come in the room, she just likes to know she has the option to 🤣

CShandy01 · 19/09/2021 21:51

@FirsttimeEm hello there and welcome!! When you say testing I'm assuming you're testing to see when you ovulate? If so it really depends on your cycle length usually. My cycles can be anywhere between 25 and 31 days, so when I was using the pink clear blue OPK's I started testing around day 10 of my cycle (day 1 being your period). Earliest I got a smiley was day 10 and latest was day 15. If I was testing and it got to around day 13 without a positive, then I usually tested once in the morning and once at night, just so I could catch the surge.

I would deffo look at tracking CM throughout your cycle too. This is a much more accurate method because you can see you're fertile period easily, whereas sometimes OPK's are a little hard to read. Hope this helps!!

hoola23 · 19/09/2021 21:53

@FirsttimeEm hey! Testing usually depends on the average length of your cycle the shorter your cycle the earlier testing usually is. It may be that you ovulated earlier this cycle, or it's still to come! Sometimes people get a really short LH surge so you may have also just missed it on the testing part. I normally start testing from cd8 until I ovulate usually around 12-14. X

CShandy01 · 19/09/2021 21:54

@hoola23 honestly chick when I stopped to think about it, I genuinely could count on 1 hand how many times in the last 4 months we had had sex purely for the fun or because we were in the mood...quite sad when I think about it 😥
