@kirinm welcome, I’m so sorry to hear about your history of recurrent miscarriage. Also that you feel you’re coming to the end of your ttc journey. Good luck for this cycle. I’m sure you’ll find lots of support on here. Xx

Balajake · 21/09/2021 12:27
@Balajake welcome and I’m so sorry you’ve been through so much on your journey BC already. What I will say is my GP prescribed progesterone just on the basis of having had miscarriages. I’ve had three chemicals this year and with each I’ve started progesterone with a bfp. I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and with this one I started progesterone at 3 dpo. Also took low dose aspirin throughout my cycle.

They should still be able to refer you to Gynae and or fertility services even if you have kids already.

Good luck with this next cycle. Xx
Thankyou. I'm CD12 and started COQ10 a couple of weeks ago. Think I'll get positive opk tomorrow as I've started with Ovulation pain today. I get ov pain pretty bad each month

Catconfusion · 21/09/2021 12:33

@Balajake I took coq10 for three months before I fell pregnant so not sure if it helped. Certainly worth it despite the cost. Fingers crossed for the next few days. Xx

Not sure if it's the right one but I got the Kirkland 300mg one from Costco. I'm take 2 a day. I also have bought HUX D3 tablets and low dose aspirin.i did have low iron and had infusions at the hospital about a month ago so hope that might help a little. Lost 6lbs in the last 2 weeks. I'm about 20lb overweight but I'm working on it

Catconfusion · 21/09/2021 13:16

@Balajake it sounds like your doing loads to help your body. It’s so tough at our age.

This is my second successful pregnancy in my 40s so it can happen. I’ve had 5 losses but it’s been worth it to get this far. Xx

Honey2 · 21/09/2021 13:30

@Balajake welcome and I’m sorry for your losses and stressful journey so far… I’m in a similar boat to you with 3 kids (5-11 years) and TTC no.4 since Jan this year I’ve had 2 early MC and 1 chemical preg. Following the 2nd MC the EPU referred me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic who did some tests, blood / womb scan etc. They didn’t find anything as a reason for MC other than age related. However it has got me ‘ in the system’ so to speak and I have been prescribed progesterone and high dose folic acid for if I do fall preg again. I also have been told I can call the hospital for early scans. I hope this info helps with your conversation with the Dr… good luck xx

Gemandi2 · 21/09/2021 14:22

Welcome @Balajake sounds like your doing everything you can - I have 2 children far apart in age (15 years) my youngest is 6. I'm 41 and have been TTC since feb this year, I had 1 MC years ago and another in June this year. To date my doctor has just suggested it's my age and the fact I got pregnant this year shows it can happen so I'm just counting down the days to ovulation every month and then fingers crossed AF doesn't arrive - so far no luck but I've just ordered some CoQ10 as so many ladies have suggested I give this a try so good luck to you and all of us xx

kirinm · 21/09/2021 18:23

Thanks for the welcome. Which ubiqnol are you all taking?

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/09/2021 21:36

@kirinm hi and welcome, I'm 42 and had tests with the gp this year, they really aren't judgy about age I've found! I take 300mg high absorption ubiquinol from Amazon.

@Balajake hi and welcome, I'm
Sorry to hear of your losses and you having to make such a heart breaking decision 😞 I am 42 and have two children myself and my partner has 2 we have been given all sorts of tests on the nhs, referred to a specialist and now I'm being put on clomid to assist conception, there are things that they can do to help, just no ivf at our age and with children. Also low iron has a massive impact on fertility (something I was unaware of until I had it and researched) so hopefully that could help 🤞🏻

kirinm · 22/09/2021 15:48

@Marvellouslymadmum

Can I ask, did you get given clomid due to issues with ovulation or is it used for something else?

Catconfusion · 22/09/2021 17:25

@Marvellouslymadmum glad to see you’re going on Clomid. I really hope it works for you. Xx

Leonsmummy90 · 22/09/2021 17:47

Honey2 · 22/09/2021 18:04

@Leonsmummy90 congratulations! 😊 - I’m just wondering did you DTD in the months you missed your period? Did you Dr indicate how many weeks they think you are?

Catconfusion · 22/09/2021 18:51

@Leonsmummy90 congrats that’s great news! Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/09/2021 19:52

@kirinm yes because my ovulation is very different each month and sometimes I get 3/4 false starts before it actually happens. Also because we've been trying for over 3.5 years and it's not happened for us

@Catconfusion thank you, I really hope it works, I don't think they'll do anything else for us xx

@Leonsmummy90 great news congratulations

Leonsmummy90 · 23/09/2021 15:33

Lastyearttc · 23/09/2021 16:45

Hi all,
Just checking in, I haven't been getting notifications but also been trying to keep myself busy and taking it day by day. I should be 10 weeks tomorrow... I have another reassurance scan on Monday but have lost 2 at 9 weeks so am very anxious indeed!

I'll try catch up with the messages but hope all ok with everyone.
For the newbies - I turned 43 last month so it can happen!

Catconfusion · 23/09/2021 18:22

@Marvellouslymadmum I really hope it works for you. Xx

@Leonsmummy90 it’s such good news. We had one like that at Christmas where we’d literally done it once. It’s amazing how difficult it can be but also how easily it can happen, even at our age. Xx

@Lastyearttc I can imagine this next scan will be so nerve wracking. If the scan looks good your chances are fantastic going forwards. I’ll be thinking of you and hoping for the best. Xx

kirinm · 23/09/2021 19:36

@Leonsmummy90 congratulations! Has the doctor agreed to take your bloods for a second time?

ponymum1980 · 25/09/2021 10:07

First midwife appointment yesterday so
I'm officially booked in! Feeling absolutely hellish at the same time as being so happy. Think I'm on my 9th week, so hormones absolutely rampant. I'm having a sort through my clothes today because I can do it sitting down. Got Marie Kondo audiobook as motivation. I'm going to try and spend some outdoor time with the horse today.

Catconfusion · 25/09/2021 10:17

@ponymum1980 congratulations. It’s such a good landmark speaking to the midwife. Not long until your 12 week scan. I’m sorry to hear your feeling awful. It’s truly horrible. I’m hoping as the placenta takes over around the 10/12 week mark it’ll improve for you. I’m definitely feeling a bit better at 13 weeks, though the vomiting started at 5 weeks so it’s been a long road to here. Xx

ponymum1980 · 25/09/2021 12:29

That's so great @Catconfusion. My life changed this morning when mum dropped off travel sickness bands. They're amazing!

Catconfusion · 25/09/2021 13:47

@ponymum1980 they never really worked for me so it’s brilliant they are for you. Hang on in there, it has to improve sooner or later! Xx
