Thank you @October1979 it’s been a difficult few days.

I’m so pleased you’re back to cd1 again. I remember well those weeks of trying to get back to normal when you just want to try again. I’ve got everything crossed for you. Xx

It’s good news from me. My letter came and my combined risk is 1 in 426. Given my age and the nt measurement I think I’m pleased with that. I still need to speak to the midwife about the increased nt and what that could potentially mean but for now we’re feeling super relieved. Xx

@Catconfusion that’s great news. Must be a real weight off your mind.

@October1979 glad you’ve finally got your AF and get reset and start again…. It’s weird isn’t it being so happy for AF to appear but I remember feeling the same. I’m CD4 and just in the waiting game. I have to say I just dont feel like it’s going to happen for us. Last 2 month timing was spot on and definitely ovulated, but not a sniff if a line. That’s really depressed me as previously to that we got BFP 3 times in a row. I think it’s been similar for you?

@Honey2 same here… had BFP twice in the Folkestone two cycles and now into cycle 9 but I’m holding out hope it will happen.

@sabtom oh that's not as expensive as I thought!

@October1979 it's a funny kind of feeling wanting af when we've been wanting the opposite for so long isn't it? Glad you know where you're at now though

@Catconfusion oh that's brilliant! So pleased your letter came and gives you a bit more piece of mind

That’s great @Catconfusion, will you still have harmony do you think?

Report
October1979 · 18/09/2021 22:52

Yes @Honey2 3 months in a row for us 2 chemicals and MMC. Also chemical in January. I'm beginning to think I've left it to late. It's really hard. I know exactly how you feel.

Thank you ladies, I’m starting to feel a little bit excited now.

@Pamparam I’m not sure about the Harmony. We’d have to pay since we came out low chance. My background risk at 42 is 1 in 55 and we came out much lower than that. The plan is to speak to someone at the hospital about the results and if we’re not feeling reassured to possibly have the Harmony. I’m still a bit worried about the extra fluid behind the neck, though it was just within normal range. We’ll see. Xx

Morning ladies. Hope everyone is well. I'm eight and a half weeks pregnant now and have my first midwife appointment on Friday. My OH and I do historic re-enactment and we've spend the last 3 years planning for the big event at the weekend. I do all the food for the members in the camp which is a lot of preparation which I have not had the energy levels for plus sewing kit which my production rate has nosedived in making in the last month. My mum helped a lot with making pies because I couldn't stomach the smells. OH was a total hero and did all the packing and I managed the 3 hour drive to the event really well. I wasn't sure how I'd manage with camping but we made an extra soft nest in tent and the only low point was trips to the loo on Saturday night in the rain. It was quite easy to constantly eat, drink and rest often to keep the sickness symptoms manageable and enjoy it all. After the big battle on Saturday, just as the event closed to the public, the OH took me to the top of the hill on the battlefield, overlooking the sea and asked me to marry him. (I said yes and cried a lot) and then the guys formed a guard of honour for us coming into camp). It was wildly romantic. I left early on Sunday afternoon too so I could make the journey home which was absolutely fine. Took a half day today so I wasn't straight into work and to enjoy this lovely and surreal weekend.

@ponymum1980 omg that sounds amazing. How romantic. What a special time for you both. It brought a tear to my eye. I’ve always thought re-enactments look really fun. What period of history do you reenact? I’m massively interested in history. When I was a teacher I was head of humanities and loved planning fun events for the kids.

I’m so glad the pregnancy is going well after such a worrying start. I truly believe sometimes things are just meant to be. Not long now until your 12 week scan. I have such a good feeling about this. Xx

We do Jacobite Rebellion 1745 and WW2 LDV. This was our big Battle of Prestonpans re-enactment I'm East Lothian. We love it so much! My Fiancé was playing a redcoat officer and I was being a camp follower. He kept telling me to take my pretty gown upper class gown down but I just took down my working class clothes because I thought I'd be too sick to change and was doing pretty dirty work in the morning. It was hands down the most romantic proposal. Apparently he'd been planning to do it there since December last year.

Symptoms keep ramping up a little all the time. My waist is thicker now (no bump yet) but plenty of bloating. Having to do a lot of walking or I'm getting very painful wind and keeping up lots of fruit and fibre which seems to be what I cope best with food wise. Off for a little lie down before work.

@October1979 thanks for your kind words. I guess we just keep trying until we don’t have it in us anymore!

@Catconfusion that’s great news on your test results. I hope they can give you a bit more info on the NT score to put your mind at rest.

Would you mind if I joined?

I'm 43 and have been ttc for about 18 months now. Two chemicals. I have a history of recurrent miscarriage as well but managed to have my DD three years ago.

I think we are probably coming to the end of TTC as it just isn't happening and I feel too old to go through the GP for tests etc. But I'm not quite ready to stop yet. I'm thinking maybe December will be our last month.

I am due to ovulate I think today or tomorrow although having none of my usual symptoms which is annoying as we've managed to time DTD right this month!

So I'm 41. I have 4 healthy children. I had my son at 39 after 10 months TTC. He was born at 32 weeks after my waters decided to start leaking. The plan was always to have 2 close together so they'd have a playmate. So when he was 6 months old we started trying again thinking it would take ages. I got pregnant first time trying and after some early bleeding things seemed to go ok.

12 week scan revealed so many issues it was decided I should have a CVS. NT fluid measured 5.5mm and there was fluid in the heart and stomach didn't seem to be closed. Genetic testing revealed T18 Edwards syndrome which is a fatal chromosome abnormality. She was alway a baby girl. We were advised to terminate and decided it would be the best thing for her rather than allow her to suffer any longer. That was march 2020.

In August 2020 I'm sure I had a chemical as I had positive frer and cheapies for around 2 days.
November 20 I got pregnant. Tests were very slow to get dark. Even going lighter on 16dpo ish but then stated to go darker after that so I started to relax. Then Xmas Eve morning at 7w 3 days I wiped and there was blood. Called the epu and they scanned me. They said pregnancy looked more like 5 weeks and to return in 2 weeks. Blended got worse Xmas day and on boxing Day I was in so much pain passing clots. One last clot around 7pm and the pain eased Sonu feel that's when I lost the baby completely.
I carried on trying and this month got a positive Frer 11dpo. Got positives till 17dpo that stayed the same colour then started bleeding so sure this was a chemical again.

I rang my GP and they agreed to do bloods which I had yesterday. I asked about progesterone suppositories but they said they couldn't just prescribe it if mine is low.

So basically ladies I need your input on what help I can get at 41 having 3 grown up kids and a two year old. Ive had these bloods done and GP is supposed to call on Friday to tell me if there is anything going on causing these miscarriages.

What happens and can they just fob me off because of my age and that I have kids ? I just want one more and after everything I feel I can't just give up.

Nurse did say BP was slightly on the high side and I'm type 2 diabetic on metformin.

@Balajake welcome and I’m so sorry you’ve been through so much on your journey BC already. What I will say is my GP prescribed progesterone just on the basis of having had miscarriages. I’ve had three chemicals this year and with each I’ve started progesterone with a bfp. I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and with this one I started progesterone at 3 dpo. Also took low dose aspirin throughout my cycle.

They should still be able to refer you to Gynae and or fertility services even if you have kids already.

Good luck with this next cycle. Xx
