So sorry for your loss yes I always said I’d be blessed with any child that comes my way good luck for this month hun 😊

Kelb79 · 25/03/2022 09:42

Hey everyone, welcome to new faces ❤️❤️
It’s so hard to stay hopeful!!
I’m 42, TTC for nearly 3 years, no children, 1 pregnancy last August that ended in a MMC at 9 weeks. Nearly broke me. My due date is next month, I’m dreading it - had prayed to be pregnant again by then but no.
Was referred for self funded IVF this year but have cancelled the referral as researching Spanish clinics (cheaper and MUCH higher success rate) Holding off for a month or two as just started acupuncture and Chinese medicine and pulling out all the stops to give natural conception a final go 😵‍💫😵‍💫

It’s a shitty journey and I spend too much time wondering why me when so many people seem to get pregnant by accident even ffs!!!
But I’m trying to work on me and my mental health right now - it’s definitely wobbled a bit of late!!!

I’m here if anyone wants to talk, no judgements on anyones situation, we all dream the same dreams ❤️❤️❤️

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/03/2022 09:47

@traceyann44 I would just keep testing and see what happens!

@Sammie82i not me but I've seen a fair few people over 40 get pregnant and have a baby since I've been on my journey (4 years)

I too would be happy with any baby that comes my way!

Kelb79 · 25/03/2022 09:52

PS ….. can anyone tell me a bit more about progesterone for TTC???
Who should take it??
Would it be worth looking into??
I had my levels tested pre MC and they were fine. But the MC started with a bleed. Lately I’ve started getting a light bleed 2-4 days pre AF.
And would I see my GP or fertility team?? My fertility team have pretty much ditched me now they know I can get pregnant - they referred for IVF and stopped investigations completely 🤷🏼‍♀️😕

traceyann44 · 25/03/2022 11:45

Well I
Did another test this morning and got another shadow I don’t know if these tests are know for them they are called one step .

But I’ll keep testing untill af arrives next month .

traceyann44 · 25/03/2022 11:46

Same all on this rocky journey wishing you all the best ❤️

traceyann44 · 25/03/2022 11:50

Welcome to the group lovely ladies!!
Its such a worry road we're all on but we're all hoping to reach the same destination, a gorgeous bundle of love in our arms.

I'm struggling at the moment 😩 and feeling a little lost.
Our fertility appointment was alot more positive than I thought. Uterus nice and healthy, ovaries all healthy and working. I had 7 follicles at the time of the scan and they could see the egg that released a week before. They did find a cyst so I've got to go back for another scan. All good I thought.........
We shouldn't have had unprotected sex before our appointment but I got a positive OPK and could waste it!!!
The confusing part now I'm 16dpo CD29 usually cycle is 25-27 days long and 2xBFN with afternoon wee. There's no sign of AF, I don't know if it's the fact I've started Ubiquinol, the fact they've messed about done there, I'm pregnant and hcg is too low or my womb has quit and just give up!!!
Sorry for the long post but I have no one else to talk to about this. OH is supportive and caring but they just don't understand x

DOB78 · 26/03/2022 08:35

Nevermind AF arrived this morning

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 27/03/2022 10:57

AF came for me this morning, one day late.

In a nutshell:

Started fertility journey at 40. Single, never been pregnant.
Fertility clinic found uterine polyp so referred into NHS to have it removed.
NHS messed up and lost me between waiting lists
Had polyp removed just after I turned 42
Made redundant so didn't feel like good timing to start trying but tried a couple of times with a sperm donor privately
Got new job
Started trying with a new donor and conceived aged 43 at the beginning of lockdown 1
Miscarried at about 5 weeks

Been trying ever since as best as can be done in a pandemic with no partner

Haven't conceived and now 45

I'm not a good candidate for IVF as I have very few follicles. I've also been ill for a year, possibly reacted to the Covid vaccine, and I'm now being tested for an autoimmune disorder. Tbh, I think it could just as easily be chronic stress/ grief. I also tested positive for glandular fever last year so I'm going through the wars both mentally and physically.

I'm crying silent tears since AF came this morning. I'm so throughly ground down by all of it and really unhappy.

Kelb79 · 27/03/2022 12:30

@JulesRimetStillGleaming eurgh! That’s a horrible journey. Sending love ❤️
When things just don’t happen is bad enough but being so horrible let down by the system is infuriating 😡 I’m so sorry you’ve been through all this and really hope it gets better for you.
Have you considered acupuncture? I started treatment and also taking Chinese meds 5 weeks ago. God knows if it’ll help with conception but I’m definitely much calmer and in a much better headspace than I have been for a looooong time!! Don’t give up, stay strong ❤️❤️❤️

I stupidly tested early at 8DPO yesterday then left the test (that was BFN) lying around! Later on it had a very clear faint line that reeeaaally looks pink to me (I attached a pic) so it’s confused the hell out of me - head says evap, heart held onto his pink the line is 🙄
Stark white BFN today though so I guess my head was right, I won’t be getting my hopes up again this month ☹️

Kelb79 · 27/03/2022 12:31

What would you have thought?? 🙈

Trying to conceive over 40 part 2
traceyann44 · 27/03/2022 16:24

I’d say that a an early positive congratulations 🎉

traceyann44 · 27/03/2022 16:33

Awwww I do feel for you it’s awful to feel so let down I am also sorry for your loss this is a long and unseen journey we just never know what will happen … we have to trust in the universe sorry my spirituality comes out of me I’m a tarot reader but I don’t do pregnancy readings …

But yeah I hope you do get what you deserve and it works successfully for you .

I also had long covid and when I walk fast I find it hard to breathe… I also had glandular fever last year I was so tired… and now I have just found out I have b12 deficiency so have to have injections every 3 months …

I am older that most on here I am 50 and been trying to conceive a successful pregnancy for 17 yrs … I do have 3 daughters from a previous relationship I have also misscarried 3 baby angels no reason whatsoever had all fertility testing done and all good so I’m ntnp now and if it happens it happens .

All the best hunny x

Kelb79 · 28/03/2022 11:26

☹️ definitely an evap line! 2 BFNs yesterday and today. I know it’s still super early (10DPO) but the test that got my hopes up can definitely be ignored! Soooo cruel!!! 😫😫😫

traceyann44 · 28/03/2022 12:05

Oh no there was definitely pink in that test you posted so cruel .

I’m still getting lines but not much colour but I’ve been told we all have a bit of hcg floating on our system at some time .

MariaDingbat · 30/03/2022 10:34

I got my BFP this morning!!!! My period was due yesterday so I tested and there it was! I'm so hoping that this one stays around, and if it does, my due date is the week after daughters 2nd birthday. And a few months before my 43nd birthday :)

I've already called the Dr to get a prescription for progesterone pesseries and for my meds to be upped. It's a terrible faff, but the pesseries helped me get my daughter so it's got to be done.

As an aside, has anyone noticed their cycle got messed up by the Covid booster? I had a Modena one in November, just before we started trying, and this month was the first month that my cycle and ovulation were back to normal.

Marvellouslymadmum · 31/03/2022 22:17

@Kelb79 my understanding in progesterone is that anyone with recurrent misscarriage should have it and I've also known some people take it who can't get pregnant and it work, so it's worth an ask

@DOB78 sorry af arrived for you, it's horrible when she tricks you like that!

@JulesRimetStillGleaming It sucks what you've been through so far BUT there's always hope - I had a mc 5 years ago after accidentally getting pregnant yet we've been trying since a short while after that and nothing! I just turned 43 Monday, have a low amh so not a good candidate for ivf but I'm still hoping for a miracle, and if that miracle doesn't happen I'm considering an egg doner or adoption - what I'm trying to say is don't give up! I'd get a second opinion on the ivf too, not all the clinics have the same criteria and there's a lot of good clinics in other countries that are more willing to help older people with less chances and the bonus is it's cheaper and you get a holiday 😂 I'm looking into all options now, have you thought about other avenues?

@MariaDingbat congratulations! 🤞🏻 it's a sticky one for you!

DorritLittle · 07/04/2022 18:47

@DOB78 sorry to hear about your confusing month. I am 44 and was interested to see your good test results. Hang in there for this month. Flowers

DOB78 · 08/04/2022 12:27

@Marvellouslymadmum @DorritLittle
Thankyou for your support. Last month was a little disappointing but that's the TTC journey I guess.

I've had another internal scan and all looks good, they confirmed ovulation which is reassuring. We have a follow up appointment in May to discuss all our results.
Ovulation was CD10 and we DTD CD8, CD9 and CD10 which gives me some hope for this month but if there's an egg quality issue it won't make any difference when we time sex but I'm trying to stay positive.
Sorry for the long posts but I really have nowhere else to talk about this.

Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

Charliepops80 · 08/04/2022 20:09

Hi ladies, can I join you?
I’m just starting out TTC, I have a DD who’s 4 with my (unfortunately still) husband who left when I was 5 months pregnant. He has no contact through his own Choice but my lovely amazing new DP of 2.5 years has decided he would love a baby with me (as do I obviously) so even though we know it may not happen we’re going to give it a go. I’m 41 and he’s 43 so it’s rather scary!

traceyann44 · 08/04/2022 20:25

So is it possible to have a faint positive at 5dpo I don’t know what made me test I just did and there’s a line now is this possible

Trying to conceive over 40 part 2
DOB78 · 08/04/2022 22:11

@traceyann44 I don't want to piddle on your party but I'm not sure a bfp is possible at 5dpo unless implantation was early or you've ovulate earlier than you thought.........I hope its a positive for you x

traceyann44 · 09/04/2022 07:07

Hey oh o know it unlikely I am temping and use opks and ff confirmed ovulation at cd 16 I only had sex on that day due to been ill

DOB78 · 09/04/2022 16:13

@traceyann44 I really do hope its a positive for you and the lines start getting stronger
