Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum - never even thought about going abroad. It's sooo expensive here! Will look into that. Thanks!☺️

Ladies, I'm actually cracking up over these comments. @October1979 - home insemination jars is pure genius! If only I could get my DP to do that, then we may be on to a winner!
@DOB78 - I started laughing at what you were saying about refusing to throw the sticks away hoping they'll change when we're not looking. This is CLASSICALLY me lool. I leave it on the toilet so that I can check it when I'm next in there. After a few times, I give up and throw in bin but of course, I take it out the bin just to check one last time! 🤣

@stuntbubbles - loving the logic. I will never look at a KitKat again without thinking of a FRER😀😀

Thanks ladies. So nice to share experiences and laugh through this TTC craziness. I'm actually at work searching for 'Can you be on your period and still be pregnant?' 🥴🙃

TTCat40 · 24/01/2022 14:36

@Trying81 absolutely a positive! Congratulations! 🥳🥳🥳

stuntbubbles · 24/01/2022 14:38

@Trying81 Mega positive! Congratulations! Star

stuntbubbles · 24/01/2022 14:40

I'm actually at work searching for 'Can you be on your period and still be pregnant?' 🥴🙃
Ahahahaha. My Google history is shameful. Today it’s themed “9dpo stark white bfn, but…” as if someone’s Reddit story of a late positive in 2002 is going to influence my uterus.

I put the FRER in the wheelie bin to stop myself fishing it out again, but it turns out I still want to bin-dive and it’s only DP’s presence in the house that’s stopping me.

Trying81 · 24/01/2022 14:43

Thanks, I did 4 more just to be sure!

Weirdly I did 2 early tests late last week and both came up negative so I thought we were out this month

stuntbubbles · 24/01/2022 14:47

Of course, it’s not a BFP til at least five different brands have confirmed it! Plus, once you know the 2nd line is going to come up, you can relax and really enjoy the weeing on a stick.

Trying81 · 24/01/2022 15:02

That's true - we only had 2 in the house as I'd used the rest last week so went straight out for more

Still in slight shock - but seeing all the tests makes it feel a bit more real

DOB78 · 24/01/2022 15:39

Hahahhaha this chat makes me feel less crazy!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one keeping pissy sticks for further examination with the torch on my phone just to make sure its startk white.
I'd be so embarrassed if anyone saw my search history "could I be pregnant and still have periods for 6 months".

DOB78 · 24/01/2022 15:41

@Trying81 Congratulations to you!! Hope you're feeling alright x

stuntbubbles · 24/01/2022 16:13

Same, same. @Trying81’s positive is only encouraging my insanity – I’ve pissed away a fairly large collection of tests, all negative at 9dpo (aside from an AWFUL false positive at 7dpo – don’t buy the Freedom £1 twin packs from Sainsbury’s!), but now I’m nodding at her updates thinking “Ah, but later in the week I too might need to rush out and buy more tests!” I should give my money straight to the bin, really.

DOB78 · 24/01/2022 18:33

Ah @stuntbubbles I bought 20 cheapies on Amazon for £3 to satisfy my POAS addiction 😅.

Trying81 · 24/01/2022 19:04

@stuntbubbles its hard not to when they say they'll work early

I did 3 last week, not even a hint of a line and it was only as my period didn't start on Sunday that I thought about doing one today.

I've spent a fortune on tests, but I do wish I'd not bothered with the early ones personally. At 5 days before period they're under 80% accurate

stuntbubbles · 24/01/2022 19:49

@DOB78 I didn’t buy any cheapies because I was going to be sensible. £500 later… Grin I’ve now ordered a bulk bag of one steps to go with my sexy sack o’ OPKs.

@Trying81 Ah, but the lure of that 20%… It’s the When Harry Met Sally thing: you want the rest of your life to start right away. Usually the urge to test kicks in around 3dpo for me so I consider holding out til 8dpo like some kind of Herculean feat of patience.

DOB78 · 24/01/2022 20:20

@stuntbubbles oh I dread to think what I've spent on tests, OPKs, FRERs, Cheapies, even bought some FSH tests just to have something else to wee on!!

I actually think I've got a mental block like I'm thinking about it that much its not happening. I have no idea how we can do things differently next month to have a better chance. Help!

October1979 · 24/01/2022 22:35

You are all cheering me up and making me laugh! I have visited my old tests from the last couple of days regularly tonight just to check if they've changed. We are some bunch. Congratulations @Trying81 definitely positive! Xx

@birdbybird sooty missed your question. No hycosy. Assumed with the previous pregnancies/ miscarriages things were fine. Had a lot of scans and recurrent miscarriage clinic and no one mentioned that this could be a problem

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/01/2022 17:00

@TTCat40 there are some really good clinics in a few different countries so definitely worth a look!

@Trying81 that's definitely a positive congratulations

Momddun · 26/01/2022 20:41

Thx for letting me this group ... I was checking if it possible to get pregnant naturally over 40 (between 41-44) and have baby ... some mentions by relative and other ppl make my heart sink that I am over age 😒just looking for motivation ... I am healthy ovulating desperately wanting my second ...

TTCat40 · 27/01/2022 09:24

Funny enough @Marvellouslymadmum, something came up on my Instagram about a fertility clinic in Cyprus. I can't remember the name but it seems good. Thanks for the heads up!
Hi and welcome @Momddun. It is so possible to have a baby over 40. It's becoming very common now. Not to say it's not hard. I've been trying for my first for 7 months and I know of ladies who have tried for longer. But there are MANY stories of successful pregnancies over 40. My best friend gave birth at 41 and my cousin gave birth to her son at 42. It's absolutely possible. And we are here to give lots of motivation! Don't give up! ❤️

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 27/01/2022 10:24

Hi everyone,

Little Elena was born via Caesarean section on Tuesday 25th January, weighing 8lb 6oz. Currently sleep deprived but enjoying my first few days of being her mummy ❤️

What a journey since beginning to TTC roughly 2 years ago, and seeing those 2 lines back in May! Proof it's possible to conceive (your first) aged 41. I hope this encourages those of you still trying for yours.

XxX

stuntbubbles · 28/01/2022 13:58

What a gorgeous poppet, @Littlemiss41andfabulous – well done!

stuntbubbles · 28/01/2022 14:03

13dpo, stark white BFN, backache, cramping like the devil, AF due tomorrow, me standing in the playground with a headache and no patience, feel a wet gush down below. My brain: “Ah, I’m one of those women convinced AF is coming but actually it’s pregnancy, the gush is the excess CM you hear so much about, and I simply won’t test positive until I’m late for my period.” Felt beatifically smug at my secret pregnancy and close affinity to my body.

Meanwhile in the time it took to walk home my period got halfway down my leg and it now feels like a giant is taking a corkscrew to my uterus, WHY am I so delusional?! Also seems rude to get my period when I dedicated myself so thoroughly to POAS this month.
