@Marvellouslymadmum totally agree it's currently like the left hand and right hand aren't talking to each other. I'd like to think over the course of the next few months thing start to change - good luck for you 🤞

@October1979 sorry AF has arrived it's always so frustrating. Have a nice drink at Christmas and 🤞🤞 for next month

@October1979 :( sorry to hear it’s not your month… absolutely everything crossed for next month. At least you have the progesterone in place now, wishing for that positive for you xx

birdbybird · 11/12/2021 22:21

Hi @October1979 I’m sorry your period arrived.

Have you had a tubal patency test (hycosy/hsg)? I had one in October and discovered one of my tubes was blocked.
I’m coming up to one year now of TTC.

99pctpractice · 12/12/2021 10:33

Hi @October1979 sorry to hear you're out this month. My period arrived yesterday too. 4 days late, so just long enough to get me excited!! Apparently it's not unusual to have longer cycles post-ivf but not something anyone thinks to tell you!! All fingers crossed 2022 is our year...

October1979 · 12/12/2021 10:37

@birdbybird I've not had HCosy etc. consultants didn't think it was necessary as I have been getting pregnant Although miscarrying.

Hi ladies.
I hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. I turned 40 in June. My partner and I have been actively TTC since August. I had a chemical pregnancy last month and from lots of research, they say you are very fertile after. From OPKs, I should 15/16DPO. I’ve done about 6 pregnancy tests 🤭. 2 cheapies, 2ClearBlues and 2 ClearBlue digital. The cheapies were stark white and I couldn’t quite make out the ClearBlue ones so I did 2 digital ClearBlues which both said ‘Not Pregnant’. I’m still holding out for my baby this month. I’ve had cramps and tingling boobs and I’ve been really wet but without the sticky mucus (sorry for the tmi). That prompted me to test. I was due on the 15th as I normally have a 30-31 days cycle but I feel my chemical pregnancy last month may have messed that up. I have no idea when I’m due now 😢 Will have to keep waiting and/or testing.
Looking forward to hearing good news and sharing good news.

Thank you so much. This actually brought tears to my eyes. My partner has been and is amazing but there’s something special about sharing your experiences with ladies who really know what you’re talking about. Thank you again.

TTCat40 · 17/12/2021 19:30

Hoping the best for you too and all the ladies who are awaiting their BFPs xx

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 17/12/2021 23:41

@TTCat40 it's a tough road TTC isn't it. Sorry for your chemical pregnancy loss. Hoping it's not too long until you get your BFP.

After TTC for 9 months I had a chemical pregnancy in January and was encouraged by the fact I was apparently more fertile afterwards, but it didn't happen straight away and I was absolutely gutted. But then got my BFP in May and my little girl is currently making herself very known with lots of movement as I'm 34 weeks now xx

TTCat40 · 18/12/2021 08:17

@Littlemiss41andfabulous Wow! That’s amazing. I’m here smiling! That’s fantastic news! Not long to go now 😃😃
I did another 2 tests today - a cheapie and a CB digital. Both negative. I just put them straight in the bin and had a good cry 😭. Your experience has given some hope. Thank you. Congratulations again 🥳

Catconfusion · 18/12/2021 09:22

@Littlemiss41andfabulous so glad you’re doing well. Not long to go now! 🙂. Xx

Catconfusion · 18/12/2021 09:26

@TTCat40 it’s so tough. I’m sorry to hear about the bfns. Don’t give up though. I had three early losses this year in January, March and May. I’m now 26 weeks with a baby girl. I’ll be 43 a few months after baby comes. Those early losses seem a lot more common as we get older so it’s a case of catching the right cycle. It’s so tough though emotionally to keep going through it. I was exhausted by the time I fell pregnant but am so grateful to be here. Wishing you all the luck in the world! Xx

TTCat40 · 18/12/2021 12:28

@Catconfusion Thank you so much for your encouragement. AF has now shown herself and it’s disappointing but I’m relieved as then I can start again when she’s done.
Congratulations to you! That’s great news 🎉You’re more than halfway there! It is tough, but stories like these really give me hope and warms my heart. It really is exhausting cycle after cycle but not going to give up though! Thank you xx

Catconfusion · 18/12/2021 13:31

@TTCat40 I’m so sorry to hear about AF. Like you say a new start though and hopefully a nice tipple over Christmas. I had my son at 40 after two losses, one at 12 weeks so it’s been a tough road with the 5 in total losses. Thankfully it’s been quite a short journey though and we’re beyond grateful we’re able to complete our family. Xx

DOB78 · 18/12/2021 14:18

@TTCat40 it is easier to talk to people while had similar experiences no matter how amazing our Partners are they still don't fully understand how it feels. Sorry AF arrived although I try to see the red witch as a good sign everything still works......
Its so good to hear the positive stories in the group they give me hope. I was hoping for a BFP in January but usually get positive OPK CD10 but not this month. I've been really sick so think it's thrown everything off 😪 so looking like a tipsy Christmas for me

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/12/2021 10:41

@TTCat40 sorry to hear about your cp I tend not to tests unless I'm late these days but I'm Currently on cd60 and still no sign of af 😡 but 2 x bfn so I know it's just a. Waiting game

@Littlemiss41andfabulous @Catconfusion
great to hear you're both doing well

TTCat40 · 20/12/2021 12:23

@Catconfusion congratulations again! Thank you. I will enjoy Christmas, have a couple of drinks and then start trying again. Enjoy your Christmas also xxx

TTCat40 · 20/12/2021 13:51

@DOB78 I agree. I was relieved to see AF as it meant that I knew things were still working in this old body!
I love hearing the positive stories in the group. I am hoping for us and the rest of the ladies who are patiently waiting for their BFPs, that 2022 will be our year of adding to those positive stories.
Sorry to hear you've been unwell. Hopefully, you'll be well enough to be able to enjoy a drink (or more!) over Christmas and then start trying again xx

TTCat40 · 20/12/2021 13:54

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you. I hear what you're saying and I agree about waiting to test until you're late. It's so difficult but I'm going to try my upmost to wait.
Sorry to hear about your bfn. I know exactly what is like. Hopefully, the waiting game will be over and you'll be able to know where you stand xx

dollymixture31 · 20/12/2021 16:44

Hi everyone. I'm new here and just wanted to say hello and ask for recommendation please. Has anyone used test at home for progesterone to confirm ovulation? I know superdrug offers a kit just wondering if anyone had used it or if there is another service that offers it that they would recommend please? I've got "bloods" booked at GP in just over a week but that would be too early to check that so thinking I should pay to have it done rather than miss an opportunity. That said, in the 6 cycles we've tried I've been pregnant twice so must be ovulating... i just would like to know if it's frequent/ regular. What do you all think?
