My dd is 11 months old and we have decided that now is the time for number 2! My daughter took 18 months to conceive with a mmc in between, so I'm expecting a long journey. This is my first month and I'm on cd4.

Oh thanks @Indianna2006 - that's why I'm going to wait a few days before doing a clearblue, just refuse to literally piss money away when it's still quite early. I have had symptoms (tiredness, slight nausea, increased sense of smell, generally feeling 'hormonal') and DS was confirmed via a cheapy test which in previous months had been accurately negative so I'm still holding some hope. Though tbh won't be devastated if turns out to be an evap as we're on month 1. Much rather that than a positive that turns into a miscarriage.

Indianna2006 · 09/09/2021 13:43

@Hullabaloowho yours looks like does poss have a bit more colour than mine did. But mine was a pretty obvious line in real life. It’s shocking really there allowed to still sell them.

When I googled them I saw such bad reviews so I’ll deff stay away from them now.

I use some cheap ICs I get from savers, 3 for £1 and I’ve never had evaps on those ever. Always blank as blank. So there worth a go if you want cheap reliable ones.

Feels almost pointless taking a test doesn’t it if you can’t bloody trust what it says!

Hullabaloowho · 09/09/2021 13:53

😬 I've just found another thread on Mumsnet from someone who got blood tests and even an early scan to rule out that she definitely wasn't pregnant after getting similar lines. Thankfully it sounds like she wasn't really hoping to conceive but still.

I guess my view now is that maybe these tests are useful as a suggestion not to go wild on the wine Wine at the weekend (just in case) rather than a guarantee of a pregnancy.

wegoagain · 09/09/2021 14:01

@hullabaloowho fantastic! Hopefully the first of many positives on this thread. Congratulations 🎊 x

Flittingaboutagain · 09/09/2021 14:04

I'm sat with my 11 week old thinking I'd like to try for number two at Christmas. I'm not mad just older and it took years to have this one!

Indianna2006 · 09/09/2021 14:26

@ yes I feel like I need to go wild on the wine lol 🤪

I tried to stay away from any alcohol and less caffeine last month but that didn’t clearly make much difference!

@Flittingaboutagain not crazy at all. We all have our own timelines and it’s what works best for your family.

PartyPotato · 09/09/2021 15:32

@Flittingaboutagain and I thought I was mad trying with an 8 month old 😂 only joking, go for it if you can!

wegoagain · 09/09/2021 15:58

@flittingaboutagain my cousins are 13 months apart and the best of friends. You never know how soon it will happen so if your ready in case you fall first month go for it!!

whatsthecraic91 · 09/09/2021 17:35

@Flittingaboutagain not crazy! I have an 8month old! Took 17/18 cycles so we are going again now for that reason

Flittingaboutagain · 09/09/2021 18:08

Ah thanks ladies! Yes assuming this awful post partum joint pain disappears then we're going to assess at Christmas.

GreenFlipFlop · 10/09/2021 09:25

@Hullabaloowho Congratulations on your BFP!! So exciting!
@Flittingaboutagain Not mad at all! See how you feel at Christmas and if you're still feeling the same way, go for it!!

wegoagain · 10/09/2021 09:43

Anyone else waking up every morning squeezing their boobs to see if they're sore? I don't know why, I didn't have a single symptom with DS. I'm only 5dpo and already desperate to know one way or the other!!

Aoife0906 · 10/09/2021 10:00

Yep I'm also doing it every single morning! Ha!!
Started to feel a bit discouraged today..can't really pin point why but I do. I think I might be getting a yeast infection (sorry tmi....) just not feeling overly hopeful for this month all of a sudden. I'm 7dpo today so going to try wait till at least next Thursday before testing. I got a positive on what I think was 10dpo with my first. This is kind of making me want to hold off testing because if it's negative then I think I'll feel totally deflated while waiting for af to arrive, if that makes any sense!

whatsthecraic91 · 10/09/2021 11:16

Morning all!

I'm 8DPO and I have felt full or rage the last couple of days & a bit periody down below already 😕 I reckon it's not happened this month. Just wish I had kept taking my temperature up!! Definitely going to next cycle.

CBB2021 · 10/09/2021 11:47

@Hullabaloowho did you test again today? Looks good to me, fingers crossed for you!

Yes 8 dpo here and I can feel some cramping and twinging. The symptom spotting drives me mad! I suspect I will cave early next week and test!

Hullabaloowho · 10/09/2021 13:48

Thanks everyone, still crossing my fingers that it's a true positive.

@CBB2021I found an old cheapy Poundland test at the back of the cupboard (just still in date) and couldn't resist using it last night. I got 2 lines again but much much fainter. My urine was clear as water though as I'd been drinking and peeing loads during day so I'm still keeping an open mind.

My sense of smell is insane so if I'm not actually pregnant I definitely have very strong psychosomatic reactions to seeing a positive test.

Still sticking with plan to do a clearblue on Sun.

PartyPotato · 10/09/2021 15:25

I should be ovulating around this time and I’m getting mild cramps, which I don’t normally have around ovulation. Not alarmed by them, just interested by how noticeable they are. I have had ovulation bleeding in the past but it doesn’t happen every month. Maybe i ovulate ‘harder’ those times 😂 those eggs are REALLY burstin out 😂

Indianna2006 · 10/09/2021 15:25

@Hullabaloowho sounds positive you got two lines on another IC as well 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Fingers crossed for the weekend.

What main brand tests do ppl find best?

I’ve got two clearblue in cupboard for this cycle. The ones which give you a plus sign. I know a lot of people rate frers. But I’ve had a few grey evaps on those. But all these tests seem to get evaps, I think the ones which say “pregnant” are good but think there 25miu sensitivity at least if not more

CBB2021 · 10/09/2021 17:08

@Hullabaloowho when I was pregnant with my DD, that was the first sign for me, I had an insanely heightened sense of smell! So it’s looking good for you 😊

@Indianna2006 I always use FRER!

Goodgoodthings · 10/09/2021 19:11

@Hullabaloowho looks like a lovely line to me! Fingers crossed you get another on Sunday 🥰 it was sense of smell that made me take a test first time around, I went to Tesco late at night and there was hardly anyone around but I felt like if could smell everyone's aftershave! Sounds promising to me.

Bit gutted as I seem to be having a weird time with the OPKs (currently CD14). All negative results on CB so far but seemed to have a positive on a cheap test yesterday and also some EWCM yesterday/today. Think my cycles are maybe too all over the shop to make any sense. Can't help but feel frustrated!

Hullabaloowho · 10/09/2021 19:43

Thanks @Goodgoodthings, yes smell was my first symptom in all of my pregnancies, successful and otherwise. I've never had any boob related symptoms, didn't even change size until my milk came in last time so it's strange how different everyone reacts. Although I don't think I noticed the heightened sense of smell until 6 weeks last time which makes me a bit nervous that it could be a twin pregnancy with such early symptoms (does anyone know if there's any truth to this?). I'm definitely max 4 weeks as first day of last AF was Aug 15th.

Keeping fingers crossed for everyone else now and hoping to hear more (and hopefully definitive positives) soon 🤞🏻

Indianna2006 · 10/09/2021 20:07

@Hullabaloowho have no idea on twin pregnancies other than I think sickness can be twice as bad. So guess the same goes for the rest.

I never got a heightened sense of smell. Only to proper bad stuff which made me gag like a dirty subway 😂 random but I had to walk under one every day for work.

First pregnancy I had huge rock porn star boobs.😂😂 I knew I was pregnant before I even tested.
But my successful pregnancy with DD. Nothing. Not a thing. Wouldn't of known I was pregnant until at least 7/8 weeks with her without a line on those tests!

So each one can be diff too I’m sure! I don’t even bother to second guess symptoms now as my two were like chalk and cheese so I figure what’s the point as I have no clue anyway lol x

Chanel05 · 11/09/2021 10:14

Cd25 and I can only assume I haven't ovulated this month because of the vaccine. Usually have 29 days so really hoping af isn't late because I want my next cycle so start and (hopefully) ovulate before my next vaccine on 2/10.

OP posts:
PartyPotato · 11/09/2021 12:27

@Chanel05 same thing happened to me, I had my first jab after period but before ovulation. So it delayed my period 3 weeks! Don’t know if I ovulated or skipped as I wasn’t checking. Second jab doesn’t seem to have done anything, Im pretty sure I’ve ovulated as normal.

whatsthecraic91 · 11/09/2021 16:08

@Hullabaloowho eeek another positive! You're so pregnant have you started believing it yet 😆 with my first I was running hot and sweating in bed that was my only symptom!

@Indianna2006 I use the clearblue dye ones or a FRER.

@Chanel05 1st covid vaccine messed my cycle up I got it a couple of days before ovulation so my AF was a week late. Second one didn't affect it at all and I had it around the same time in my cycle.

How's everyone? 9DPO and I definitely don't think it's happened this month.
