Popsy, that sounds just what I need. Thanks! Bet that cook book is lovely. I know it's the wrong time of year, but I'm thinking of finding my ben and jerry's recipe book.

I mentioned I would have been 21 months today to (d)p, and he said "oh, are you still thinking about that" like it was ages ago, and should be out of my head.

Wheelybug · 02/12/2007 14:34

oh jules - huge hugs.... am so keeping everything crossed for you.

  • Lovely to see you, we've missed you ! Sorry to hear you're not up the duff yet but well done on new job.

Hello to everyone else - hope you're all ok.

splishsplosh · 02/12/2007 14:34

I've got everything crossed for you Jules

Wheelybug · 02/12/2007 14:35

Splishsplosh - sorry to hear you're going through a bad patch. Hugs.

sfxmum · 02/12/2007 14:41

jules fingers crossed and massive hugs

slishsplosh sorry you are going through a bad patch

I believe in keeping going but perhaps not the 'moving on' people talk about. it is all part of you forever but you grieve and keep living.

yesterday took dd to a b'dy party, one of her many social engagements. and one of the mums who knew, gave me some flowers, I was touched it a bit thrown.
today I passed the sac, expected but still v.odd, but it sort of marks an end to me.

I do worry about sinking into depression but will do my best to keep it at bay

sorry long post

sfxmum · 02/12/2007 14:44

hi popsy congrats on the job, it is hard when babies seem to be popping everywhere, I live near a Mothercare world so if I pop out for bread I will bump into a pregnant woman

popsy76 · 02/12/2007 14:45

Hi *wheelybug" How are you hon? Are you PG again - have read most people news but so many of you to check up on I am getting confused so fab to know you are all still here - feels like no time has passed ha ha

splishy did you watch heston blumenthal doing an artic roll - the fusion of science and food - my idea of heaven - I say do wjhatever it takes to get those endorphins flowing my current favs are: fab new blue leather platforms with bows (top shop gorgeousness!), choc cake (not much of it left now though), wine (any variety - have done the months of non-drinking and just made me more depressed when BFN), shopping (great now xmas as perfect excuse to melt the plastic on a daily basis-have you ben on red direct?...), cuddles with my fur baby (yes poor cat )

I still think in months too - am better now all the dates I had in my head are gone but I am still someone with a non-2 month old IYSWIM...

chin up chickie

popsy76 · 02/12/2007 14:48

sfxmum I have to drive down my street now as there is an NCT building on my road and was getting too much bumping into all the bumps every time i popped out for a pint of milk!

splishsplosh · 02/12/2007 14:53

Popsy, I didn't see it, but sounds like i missed a treat.
Mmmm, shopping - I did a bit this morning, helping my niece look for some pressies for her mum, and I am now longing to get down to some serious Christmas shopping myself, but I am planning to spoil myself for my birthday first - I'm thinking maybe some fab new lingerie, even if it's just for me!

sfxmum · 02/12/2007 14:58

shopping yes that's an idea,DH got me a couple of things on our way from the scan last week, bless him, now on his way home with some dinner and dessert.

PHEW sorry wheely but you have just made my day week year (popsy learns new MN techniques in order to impress new MN friends )!

Is hard being barren when all around seem to be reproducing like rabbits - if I hear one more peson say...

"things happen for a reason"
"oh just relax and it'll happen when you least expoect it"
"well you got PG easily first time so no reason why it won't happen again.."

Ooh nail polish sounds good - you get to have fab toes and feel smug about how green you are

I need a wax really badly - have given up on armpits and legs for the winter but bikini line seems to be migrating towards my thigh and needs some serious attention...oh the cruelty of getting old...

popsy76 · 02/12/2007 15:33

Hope you are lying there with your feet up jules - so sh*t that you are going throigh all this worry

I had a tony 1cm bit of red blood yesterday morning nothing since and had really bad pains this morning but they seemed to be high up so I hope they were just trapped wind or something, it's going to be another long 4 weeks. Slept for 13 hours last night was asleep by 9pm, still feel hungover constantly and cannot face food.

But put the Christmas decs up though

hello to everyone else hope Sunday is being good to you, need to check on screaming DD2 so better be off x

popsy76 · 02/12/2007 15:43

Oh Jules life is so unfair isn't it?

If I could wave a magic wand and make it all better I would - just to save one of us from this hellish existence!

I am already crazy lady Jules so you are being magnificent!

Hi sweetkitty got me thinking about decs now - must go up to of and drag the box of glitter down...

kate2179 · 02/12/2007 15:51

Thinking of you jules, sending so much love and big hugs. Noone should have to go through this. Fingers crossed for positive hcg result.
Re levels and what's normal, when I had my mmc I found an australian website which was really helpful - www.birth.com.au/class.asp?class=6620&page=8 Good luck, am wearing my biggest pants in the hope that they send out positive vibes!

TJuice · 02/12/2007 15:58

hey jules

he just looked up in his obstetrics texts but couldn't find anything specific.

but this website has a lot of info
www.conceivingconcepts.com/learning/articles/hcg.html

Accordingly, the key to interpreting the true value of HCG measurements is to look at their progression. In general, the HCG level will double every two to three days in early pregnancy. Approximately 85 percent of normal pregnancies will have the HCG level double every 72 hours. However, as you get further along in your pregnancy and the HCG levels get higher, the expected doubling time increases.

For HCG levels 6000 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is >96 hours.

HCG levels peak at about eight to 10 weeks of pregnancy and then decline, remaining at lower levels for the rest of the pregnancy. Here is a sample listing of expected HCG levels based on time after conception:

0-1 week: 0-50 mIU/ml

1-2 weeks: 40-300 mIU/ml

3-4 weeks: 500-6,000 mIU/ml

1-2 months: 5,000-200,000 mIU/ml

2-3 months: 10,000-100,000 mIU/ml

2nd trimester: 3,000-50,000 mIU/ml

3rd trimester: 1,000-50,000 mIU/ml

Non-pregnant females:
