Very nervous about it, but happy too. I actually went to the place(shopping centre) I got the positive with my dd for good luck
My dh thinks I'm mad but hey don't they all
now if I can just get past the nine week stage without going insane

ALBS glad your finally able to admit your pregnant

Lissie glad your getting that referal at last
ilts sorry it didn't happen this time

littlewifey and sfxmum sorry you have had to join us but welcome

littlewifey I lost baby at 9 weeks but it had stopped developing at 5 weeks. I'm appalled you had to pay for a private scan. I started bleeding whilst in Germany and I had a scan as soon as I arrived at the hospital, this country just seems so backward and 'patchy' in what is offered.

Have you had a gynie consult? You should go see your doc if you haven't already or haven't seen a doctor at hospital then you should go see a doc.

For me the bleeding (red blood) lasted about 8/9 days. I passed the sac after about 6 days. The bleeding was for me like a heavy period, you have to use pads and as I don't normally it is difficult to compare. But they do say if you are soaking a pad in less then an hour you need to go to hospital.

Hugs for you.

littlewifey · 01/12/2007 13:41

Thanks ClairePO. I agree about this country-my experiences with the NHS these last few weeks have been appauling and certainly haven't instilled me with much faith in them!

sfxmum · 01/12/2007 14:05

hi this 'bleeding normal' is so fraught

I am sorry about bad NHS experiences, I do agree they vary from place to place but there seems to be a general downward trend over the last few years. particularly in maternity/OBGYN

last mc was in 2001 and I had pretty good care, had D&C, my choice. the bleed 6wks later was spectacular, I had blood flooding out for about 1-2hrs but had hospital matron on the phone reassuring me and things slowed down and normalised quickly, still so scsry when it happened.
it took me ages to start ttc was so apprehensive but had a trouble free pregnancy and dd was born june 05.

don't want to wait that long now as I am nearly 39 so no time to waste.

cricri · 01/12/2007 14:15

Kazbeth, sfxmum and littlewifey so sorry you had to join us but pleased you found this thread. I would have struggled to cope with my mmc if I hadn't had the support of everybody here. It's not always easy to talk about mc in RL, although I keep being surprised by just how common it is. Somebody else the other day told me they'd had a mc and I had no idea. it's like there's almost a conspiracy of silence surrounding it. Still, with our MC Avengers pants on we'll get there!
Jules Hope you're OK.

sfxmum · 01/12/2007 14:22

I considered joining several threads but I fell for this tittle really better chance of finding like minded people, it's in the pants

cricri yes very common 1 in 8 so pretty much every woman I know has had at least one, still not easy, you get full of hope for new beginnings, pretty much literally and then they just go leaving you empty for a while, it is hard to take.
but I refuse to feel defeated will still be positive next time

DUSTIN · 01/12/2007 15:01

Kazbeth sfxmum and littlewifey* so sorry you had to join but you will find lots of support here.

sfxmum I am about the same age as you and I know what you mean about worrying that time is slipping away. It took me 3 years and 2 mcs to have DS and I had another mc in Sept but trying to stay positive.

ILTS Congratulations!!!

Jules Thinking about you and praying that everything works out for you.

I have had this horrible cold that has been going round so it's a good job that I am having a break from ttc until after xmas. It's not particularly attrative coughing and snotting everywhere!!

DUSTIN · 01/12/2007 15:02

Blimey can't even spell today. Meant attractive not attrative

TwilightSurfer · 01/12/2007 15:21

littlewifey for me I bled heavily off and on for ten days before passing the sac. 2 days later I passed on last tiny piece of the pregnancy (tmi). The following day I spotted and that was that. The bleeding will continue until all the pregnancy pieces are out per my OB/GYN. So if bleeding continues for what you feel is too long it's best to be rechecked. Make sure you take it easy otherwise and eat plenty of healthy foods (iron enriched will help with your energy level) and drink plenty of water.

Thanks for asking jules
despite my 10 minutely knicker checking all seems to be well at the moment. By no means relaxed but trying to. off out to take my mind off it. Going round friends for takeaway.
Ate all the cakes

Glad to hear the bleeding stopped for you too. Hope there's no more during pregancy at all. These next few weeks are hard enough without scares like that.

TJuice · 01/12/2007 19:48

hi ladies.

welcome to sfx and littlewifey. so sorry about your mcs. hope you are taking it really easy and have enough

aqua - glad that the bleeding has eased up. damn, i fancied a cake too! have a good evening with your mates - its always good to step out for a while.

i have been grotting around in my pjs all day! just can't sleep at night then weekends are the big catch up. but about to shower then get into fresh pajamas for egg sandwich and more telly.

mcchesers - are you losing weight? my appetite has come back a bit. i still can't be bothered to cook though. i contemplates making risotto tonight then just thought "standing up at the stove, stirring for 25 mins - nah!"

so i am holding my bowl out for some of your 'scouse' - jules! glad things are looking up for you too.

splish - hope you are doing well. i went to school in Sydenham, cos my parents lived in lovely south norwood when i was a school. its hard thinking about where you could have been, isn't it. i lurked on the Due March 09 thread the other day and they sound like they are all getting big and in this totally different phase of pregnancy that i would be in too. really sad but maybe it was just meant to be. my friend always says " you close one day, and another opens" - okay not the best analogy here (!)but i guess it just a way of trying to make sense of and be positive about the ordeals we go through.

twilight - when you hit that bar, could you have one for me and the other sisters who can't make it? have a great night.

kazbeth - hope its just too early and that you get the bfp in the next few days or so. i was surprised at how early i ov-ed after my mc (less than a week after my d&c) so i missed that cycle. good luck.

jules - i know how you feel.

but remember

brown is okay
womb is growing
hormones changing
healthy and well
healthy and well
healthy and well

could it even be implantation? i never figured out the dates for that but its later than i thought - and if your blood is superthin, it may be more intense that normal.

by the way - i do this really babyish thing with ben and jerry's - scoop it out into a glass and then add a little milk and mix it up so it becomes more gelato texture. its so good. have you every tried it?

mcchesers · 02/12/2007 11:13

Morning ladies! Absolutely exhausted.

Tjuice- Haven't lost any weight at all despite not having a steady diet. I'm starting to get my appetite back after changing my prenatal vitamins because the pregnacare plus were making me sick.

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

sfxmum · 02/12/2007 11:56

popsy76 · 02/12/2007 13:50

Hi Ladies, been off MN for 5 months now (about as long as EllieG has been PG EllieG so please for you
Hi everyone form the old days and Hi to all the new ttc-ers after MC. Is happy and sad thing coming back - have caught up and can see that loads of my old TTC after MC chums are now PG which is fab news but GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM STILL GOING THROUGH THIS

For those of you who don't know me I had a missed MC in march this year - has been a massive struggle - finlly feel like I'm geting my life back - have a fab new job and starting to feel like there are other things in life than TTC and babies - I hve even given up the temping and pee sticks cos I was so obsessed I would burst into tears each time AF arrived after the most excruciating 2ww ever

Was feeling all smug and sane this week and then went to my nephews birthday party last night and my sisters friend turned up 5 months gone and no one had told me and I just burst into ears and made a total tit out of myself . Sitting here now- supposed to be working but just needed to come back to MN and check I am not the only mad one out there...

Other annoying things (1) fab new job is due to work mate getting PG oh bitter bitter pill
(2) Three best friends all have babies and rest are starting to TTC so I know I have a few years of lovely "news" to come from them and more making a tit of myself to come . (3) Now am getting back into work am scared of ttc in case it happens and i let everyone at work down

Jules hope you are okay???
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

merrylissiemas · 02/12/2007 14:13

hi popsy, its good to see you back!

splishsplosh · 02/12/2007 14:14

Jules - huge big hug for you, and some b&js too. What time will they have the results? I so hope that it will work out for you, you so deserve this x

Ellie - thank you. I'm going through big sad patch at the moment, obviously not helped by failing relationship, and so feel like that was the last time I'm likely to be pg, ttc is not really on the cards, though I have foolish mad moments of contemplating a bit of a go...

TJuice - you didn't go to Sydenham High by any chance then?

It's my birthday in 2 days time. DD's at her grandma's, I was looking after my 6 year old niece while my sister slept after a night shift, but now I have a few hours to myself. (d)p trying to be nice, but shamefully I am finding it easier to wallow a bit. If Katendmom was still with us, I am sure she'd have a few stern words to say about being positive etc.

Maybe i could bake cakes? Any requests? Although I have Christmas cookie cutters and was thinking of saving my culinary efforts for when dd was around to try transferring her playdo skills to my cooking. I'm just trying to summon up my bravery and patience skills first.

popsy76 · 02/12/2007 14:26

Is that lissielou in festive fancy dress?

splishy I just made a massive devils food cake for nephews birthday - not there to eat it today but kept extras back and have made a gloopy mountain of cake and fudge sauce....very very soothing! (from green and blacks cook book) am sending a huge slice through the ether to you...

Think DH just spotted me on MN again - I know he hates it when I am on here cos it means I haven't moved on
