Hi Ladies

Thought I would create a channel for July / August TTC for those who didn't receive their BFP's this time around

I'm on CD2 now after sadly AF arriving. TTC no1 at 32 and this will be Cycle 4

I'm currently isolating with Covid after having 1 jab (which really messed with cycle 2 and 3) expecting DH to test positive v soon!

So sorry if I miss anyone or if you haven't got your AF yet or had a BFP ! But wanted to capture a few people as I've found these channels super helpful!

So I'm now 3 days late, BFN and cd35. Who knows what's going on 😩

Not sure if I'm having a really long cycle this month though as I've had no CM really and all of a sudden I've got the EWCM and the 'wanting BD' mood as well. Unfortunately no OPKs with me though 😩😩

mummytoolive · 04/08/2021 14:35

@Capricorn8990 I will do, I'm thinking around 15th 16th for ovulation this month but got my 2nd Covid jab on 10th so that may affect it. We'll see xx

GingerFox2021 · 04/08/2021 19:23

i’m not surprised anymore if I’m late cause whenever I check it’s BFN. At the begining I used to have hopes when I’m late, now it’s usual, doesn’t surprise me anymore.

Josephine2021 · 04/08/2021 19:26

Congratulations on your bfp’s @Laurajp90 and @Cherryblossom21!! Amazing news!

Wishing lots of luck to everyone for august…I’m on cd8, really hope this month is the one 🤞🏻

My Ovulation’s due end this week, so been busy doing the baby dance this week!

I saw a fertility expert who explained about the importance of “fresh” sperm, not something I was aware of so thought I’d share on here in case helpful for others. She explained that the ideal is to have sex every other day, that way the sperm are fresh but also have time to build back up again in between rounds. For example, I regularly ovulate on day 15, therefore the ideal is 10, 12, 14, 16 (plus day 18 if you’re not confident you found your ovulation and need to be sure it wasn’t later than expected). Also ideally having dtd a few days before day 10, in order for day 10 to be with fresh sperm (I suppose DH could also handle that himself 3 or 4 days previously, sorry if tmi!🤦‍♀️). Any longer than 5 days in “storage” and the sperm can potentially be lower quality. Hence the doctor usually asks for fresh sperm when you go for fertility tests. Anyway, another thing to try out. Baby dust to all ✨

WantStickyBean · 04/08/2021 20:13

@Lealu that is interesting - I didn't realise they had an expiry date Grin.

Though my understanding was that the "every other day" thing was now only recommended if there are known male factor issues like sperm count. I think that although the quantity of sperm does decrease if you DTD each day, it's still the case that more sex = more sperm = higher chance of conception for most couples.

Based on a theoretical CD14 ovulation, then I think the optimal timing would be CD9,11,12,13,14,15,17 so you go daily from 3 days before ovulation to one day after - and throw in a couple at either end just in case your body decides to pull an unexpected early/late ovulation that cycle.

I also read a recent study that had got 3 consecutive samples from healthy men at 4 hour intervals - and there was evidence to suggest that the sperm in the later samples was more likely to be able to reach/fertilise an egg, though I can't remember why. Haven't mentioned this to DH though Grin.

I bit the bullet and POAS today as I'm now two days late but of course - BFN. Anybody else feeling quite hopeless about it all? Once AF arrives we'll be onto cycle 7, which I know is within the 'normal' range but quite honestly I can't imagine ever seeing a positive pregnancy test. I know I just got a negative so I'm bound to feel down but I'm getting so fed up. I've got some basic tests with fertility specialists this month. I'm hoping if anything it at least gives me some peace of mind that nothing is wrong. Or they do find something wrong and I know why we keep failing to get pregnant!

StayHopeful · 04/08/2021 21:28

@BritInNZ totally with you. I'm not due til Sunday/Monday but have internet cheapys that go out of date this month so I just keep testing which is stupid, BFNs all round. I have all my normal PMS symptoms so I just know it isn't my month. This is month 5 for us, I just feel so deflated like you. Feel like it will never happen. I think if I get to 6 months I will try to book some private fertility tests like you. Hope the negative test doom lifts for you soon and the fertility tests give you some answers/encouragement xx

Borgonzola · 04/08/2021 21:29

thank you @aurus Smile

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm somehow absolutely flat out exhausted. I was on cerazette for a long time until recently, which gave me no periods and generally meant my energy levels were always the same. But right now I feel really tired and have never been more aware of my body - I feel like I'm hyper-aware of everything. And I've literally only just ovulated I think, so not sure how I'm going to get through the 2ww...

did anyone else feel really exhausted by the whole thing?

maybe it's just because we've been dtd more than normal Grin

BritInNZ · 04/08/2021 21:46

@StayHopeful thank you, nice to know I'm not alone. I have to say I never thought it would be this hard! I have to get two blood tests done and DH a blood test and SA. Appointment is 28 September so a little way off still. I still had hope for this month and was thinking 'it would be just my luck that I get pregnant the month I sort a private appointment!' But nope, wasn't meant to be. The 6 month mark is really tough, especially when you look at all the stats about how many fall pregnant within 6 months. Hope you're okay. Definitely recommend doing whatever you can for your own peace of mind!

wellitywell · 04/08/2021 22:41

Hey everyone,
Just catching up and so pleased to see the BFPs! Sorry to everyone else in the BFN club. Same.
I'm just finishing AF so preparing ourselves for lots of ovulation testing and DTD.
I've also started taking a pregnacare multi-vitamin for conception... only going to do it for this month because they're sooo expensive.
It's so odd to have had absolute control over your life for so long, being able to choose NOT to get pregnant, it's so frustrating when it doesn't happen instantly. I'm impatient and know I've not been trying that long.

@BritInNZ good luck with the fertility testing. Like you I've stopped testing until AF is late.

Also does anyone know any good fertility clinics in the UK if you fancy going private to get tests done? We're v early stages (4th cycle) but i'm 35 and DH is 38... we took a long time to decide we definitely wanted kids ConfusedGrin
Good vibes to you all! Xxx

Rachy11 · 05/08/2021 06:08

Morning everyone. I thought I was out for July as af seemed to appear briefly a couple of days ago. However felt dizzy all day yesterday and sick this morning, had a spare test and got my BFP! I’m in shock! I did a frer last sat Sunday which was negative. I’m in shock but so so happy. Wishing you all lots of baby dust. I know it’s very early days for mine but I’m praying everything is ok xx

Moominglitter · 05/08/2021 08:00

Previously posted under user and then changed name. 7 month ttc but have felt so different this month.. I’m 10dpo today and I tested (I know I know) but is that a faint line or am I going mad?

purpleskyssssss · 05/08/2021 08:03

Congratulations @Rachy11 ❤️ wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Sorry to see all of you with AF or BFN, it really is a rollercoaster of a journey

I'm about to ovulate at the end of the week I believe and OH has broken his ribs 😒 so not sure if we will manage to DTD this month.

I am also like you @BritInN feel like I will never see a positive test, I know thinking like that doesn't help but it is hard not to!

I have been thinking of looking into private fertility clinics, been 10month ttc and my doctors are useless, they have said I need to be trying for at-least 18months - 2 years before they will do any test? 😢 OH has managed to speaking to a consultant for a SA, just waiting for an appointment to come through!

I am not sure where to start though with private fertility clinics?

I can see something! 😍

Maybe try a FRER as well as it's the pink dye 🥰

Fingers crossed it is and your line gets darker! 🥰

LadyoftheWoods · 05/08/2021 08:22

Oh wow congrats @Rachy11! Hope everything goes smoothly for you

@Moominglitter I can definitely see something, you're not going mad!

AF has just finished so I've started tracking my bbt for the first time. I'm so impatient though, it's going to be a long month!

wellitywell · 05/08/2021 08:27

@LadyoftheWoods sounds like we're cycle buddies! I'm on day 1 today.

FinnsMammy · 05/08/2021 08:44

@Rachy11 and @Moominglitter massive congrats !!

@Cherryblossom21 sorry to here AF came. I also had a short cycle I think 25 days rather than than 27 directly after my mc then I got pregnant the very next cycle which was this cycle best of luck this month fingers and toes crossed for you xx

LadyoftheWoods · 05/08/2021 08:45

@wellitywell Excellent! I'm 36 so we're pretty close in age too. It's our first month ttc so I'm not expecting anything this month but it's hard not to get excited.

I think it's quite different here in NZ. There's only a couple of fertility clinics and I just got an appointment for $300 (£150) which includes bloods, SA and a scan at the consultation if the Dr wants to do one. I felt like it wasn't that much money so was worth a shot in case it threw something up and we could get it sorted!

It's horrible feeling hopeless isn't it. I definitely didn't feel pregnant this month but I'm now 3 days late but getting BFN. I guess it's just running late!

entrytohr · 05/08/2021 09:21

Has anyone else had weird symptoms not long after ovulation? I'm only 4DPO but have felt sick for 2 days now and my boobs are really sore! I never get this mid cycle, only just before a period. Feel like I'm losing the plot but wondering if it could be early symptoms?

I had HG in my last pregnancy so I suspect that im fairly sensitive in regards to hormones causing nausea Envy

Mrsdb90 · 05/08/2021 09:24

Hi ladies,

Hope you don't mind me jumping on. Today I'm 10dpo, yesterday I had a very faint on a coop test and then got another faint line on a sainsburys test both came up within 2 mins. I know these test aren't as reliable though so just wanted to check with you all. I'm currently waiting for a frer which should arrive tomorrow. I had some pink cm 6dpo and 7dpo.
I'm ttc my first and am on cycle 4. I came off the pill in April, and my cycles have been a little different each moth with a LP of no more than 9 days.

I am not too sure @entrytohr, I know I used to symptom spot so much I would convince myself from 2DPO I had symptoms, it wasn't until someone said that it's too early for symptoms I tried to stop symptom spotting.

But I think any symptoms different to the 'norm' for you, is good, so I think definitely think positive.

@Mrsdb90 I can't defiantly see faint lines on both of those without needing to squint! Fingers crossed for the FRER tomorrow, keep us updated!

purpleskyssssss · 05/08/2021 10:58

@Mrsdb90 below was meant to say ' I defiantly can' not can't :)
