August TTC

Hi Ladies

Thought I would create a channel for July / August TTC for those who didn't receive their BFP's this time around

I'm on CD2 now after sadly AF arriving. TTC no1 at 32 and this will be Cycle 4

I'm currently isolating with Covid after having 1 jab (which really messed with cycle 2 and 3) expecting DH to test positive v soon!

So sorry if I miss anyone or if you haven't got your AF yet or had a BFP ! But wanted to capture a few people as I've found these channels super helpful!

Hi all! Jumping on board also. 7 month trying and going mad symptom spotting. Got a positive ovulation test last Monday and now experiencing really bad period pains and mood swings (not due on til next Saturday ). Feels so much like period pains that I feel I’m out this month but still holding out hope 😩

WantStickyBean · 01/08/2021 15:27

DH was so fed up about me talking about testing/not testing that he unpacked an FRER and passed it to me. BFN.

Just as well I know that all my "symptoms" are in my head, I guess.

With DD I had BFP at 11DPO so not holding out any hope for this cycle now. Good news is AF due Tuesday/Weds so not long to wait.

@Coco9910

Hi,

No I told myself I wouldn’t test again until next weekend but I think AF is on its way as I’ve started spotting this morning! My cycles are regular but can vary between 30-33 days. I just had my second Covid jab this morning so I’m hoping it doesn’t affect my ovulation this month 😩🤞🏼 When are you going to test again? Good luck to you also! xx

@Coco9910 I have told myself I won't test again either, still no sign of AF but not getting my hopes up yet, I have gone to CD33 before but only ever once so we shall see, don't feel AF is coming today as I normally get cramps but nothing yet, tomorrow will be CD31 xx
MrsSG90 · 01/08/2021 16:50

@Coco9910 yea I don’t feel pregnant either. No AF as yet, but i have have aching in my lower abdomen and lower back, so I think it’s just around the corner. I’ve just turned 31.

@SaraKitty I’m guessing it’s just our bodies getting back to normal with having the coil removed. I’ve got to learn what my body does each cycle now, and I’m guessing you’re the same.

cossmoss · 01/08/2021 17:32

Hi all, I'm in my fertile week and due my second Covid jab. I know there's talk it can mess with cycles a bit. Wondering if I should wait to see if I'm pregnant or not this month before getting it. What do others think?

SaraKitty · 01/08/2021 17:41

@cossmoss I’m in my fertile week , my 2nd jab is tomorrow which is my expected O day . I’m going to get it as i would prefer to be vaccinated before i get pregnant and willing to take the risk and get it as chances of getting pregnant so low ... I believe the only issue is if you get a fever after the vaccine not good for early pregnancy to have a fever but still unlikely to cause any major issues .

cossmoss · 01/08/2021 18:11

@SaraKitty thanks - good to know. Yes, you're right, better to be fully vaccinated at this stage.

Tiredmum31111 · 01/08/2021 18:36

Done that stupid thing where you test early with a First response -not even due on till maybe Friday earliest and not a clue when I've ovulated. But bfn now I feel I've ruled myself out for the month really early. Annoyed with myself!!

wellitywell · 01/08/2021 20:59

Ah well. AF arrived today, but I sort of knew it wasn't our month.

Anyone got any app recommendations? I'm using GLOW and I'm mostly just using it to track periods and log BBT (but I don't do it at the same time everyday and not sure how useful it is for me- tho I do notice a spike about ten days before my period)

How is everyone?

wellitywell · 01/08/2021 21:01

@Tiredmum31111 sorry about your BFN. I keep ruling myself out early too. It's getting expensive!

storkstalk · 01/08/2021 21:30

Hello ladies, would I be able to join please?

First time trying. I’m 32 and haven’t been on hormonal contraception for 2 years and have been tracking periods that whole time. I think the covid vaccines have messed up my cycle as it has been 27-29 days every single month for two years and then this month, I think/hope because of my second vaccine, my cycle was only 21 days. I’ve never had a cycle that short before and I’m annoyed it’s happened the first month we want to try as means I have no clue whether it’ll mess up my next cycle length too to track for ovulation.

What ovulation tests would you all recommend? Is it worth spending the money on the clear blue digital ones or am I better off just buying a 50 pack of strips?

I’m on day 2 of my cycle currently so will start trying at the end of the week.

Has anyone tried the sperm meets egg method? I just saw it on another thread and have never heard of it before but might give it a go.

aurus · 01/08/2021 21:34

Hi, can I join for this month too? I loved reading through the July thread! I'm 29, I got my implant removed on 7th July and AF the same day, which I was expecting. July was NTNP, and AF should arrive next Friday if the removal hasn't completely messed my cycles up.

I've had quite a few symptoms I don't usually get (bloating, very light cramping...), but I'm pretty sure the hormone changes could be causing them too. What are other people's experiences coming off the implant?

Capricorn8990 · 01/08/2021 21:38

@storkstalk heya! I use clear blue advance and they are good but the clear blue basic ones are good too. They are pricey but good. The strip tests are good too and much cheaper and they can be easy to read but I would do them twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening xx

Capricorn8990 · 01/08/2021 21:39

@aurus I haven't got experiences personally but welcome xx

storkstalk · 01/08/2021 21:42

capricorn thank you! I think maybe for the first couple of months I’ll use the expensive ones whilst I get a hang of the whole thing and then switch to strips if we end up going past 3 months. I feel like I’ve already spent a fortune on vitamins etc! How long have you been TTC? Xx

Nicoleamdavies · 01/08/2021 21:43

Hi gals! Can I hop on too?
Currently on day two of my AF, which is annoyingly a week early!
I will be on cycle 2 for my first in August!
Crossing all my fingers for everyone 💜 x

storkstalk · 01/08/2021 21:47

@Nicoleamdavies is it normal for your periods to be irregular or is it unusual for it to be so early? I’m in my first month of trying and on day 2 of my period which is also a week earlier than usual! Not sure what that means for ovulation this month xx

Nicoleamdavies · 01/08/2021 21:54

@storkstalk No! It's so weird, since I came off the pill a year ago they've been like absolute clockwork to the day that my app predicts! I find it so weird that the month I actually try to conceive my period decides to come a month early 🤷🏽‍♀️ and I am also unsure about ovulation, my Apple Health app and Fertility Friend app are predicting different fertility windows to each other! X

storkstalk · 01/08/2021 22:01

@Nicoleamdavies pretty much same happened to me. I had my second covid vaccine though a week ago and I’ve googled and apparently that can trigger it so I’m hoping it’s that and not a bigger issue for me. May be the same for you if you’ve recently been vaccinated or had covid?? Xx

Nicoleamdavies · 01/08/2021 22:08

@storkstalk Hmmm maybe, I have heard that! I had my second covid vaccine dose in May, so I don't think it's that!
It's also weird but this period just seems completely different to my normal ones, like usually I'm super heavy with lots of clots (sorry, TMI!) but I've just got a high flow of bright red! So weird x

Coco9910 · 01/08/2021 22:12

@Aquarius1987 keeping my fingers crossed for you that AF stays away! 🤞🏼 please keep me updating, I’m hoping you get your BFP soon! xx

@MrsSG90 I turn 31 this month so are quite similar! ☺️ please keep me updated on how you are getting on xx

Capricorn8990 · 01/08/2021 22:28

@storkstalk this will be my 7th cycle/ month. I came off the pill in December after 12 years on the pill. I have endometriosis so I used birth control for pain management so it's been a rough few months recently but I've been referred to gynaecology again for pain support. TTC is an emotional rollercoaster and can make you feel alone but never ever feel alone because there are lots of women feeling the same emotions xx

storkstalk · 01/08/2021 22:34

@Capricorn8990 Oh no! I hope you manage to get the pain management sorted. I have friends with endo and have seen how much they have struggled to get support. Sending you lots of positive vibes. Yes I am pleased to have somewhere to talk about it as I only talk to my partner about it in real life xx

Girlboss13 · 01/08/2021 22:43

@Storkstalk I had the exact same situation as you! Also cycle 1 ttc, got my covid vaccine around ovulation and AF came a week early! I've been reading up on it and apparently it's messing with a lot of women's cycles! A bit worried about what it means for this month but we will just have to see how things go! I'm on CD3 now so we're on the same timeline. Fingers crossed for you!

BingeOnChocolate · 01/08/2021 22:49

Yeah I'm out this month. Just had spotting so fully expect AF tomorrow/Tuesday to be in full swing.
