Hi there,

Ok I'm ready to try for number 2 and feeling a bit nervous and in need of company ! anyone out there in the same boat, how about the mutual support group starts here.

my son is nearly 21 months. i conceived really easily last time but had 2 consecutive m/c before he came along so spent about a year and a half pregnant ! i'm scared 2nd time round won't be so easy and m/cs might come back but also sooooo excited. also i'm 36 and keep feeling really old and like i have to get it sorted soon ............

aaah, little one is dancing round the sofa to annie on the telly, need to go and join him. would really like to hear from anyone in the same boat,

can't bore my childless friends with all the boring details constantly,

cheers

Fantastic news to you Debithescot. What a wonderful way to start the new year.

Yorky. I didn't buy the thermometer in the end because it said you needed to take the temp in bed before you wake up and I thought that I wouldn't be able to do it because of trying to keep the testing thing under wraps from DH. If I was sitting up in bed with the thermometer in my mouth he might be suspicious. I need to retain the air of mystery surrounding the whole thing. Yesterday he caught me looking at a website about pregnancy and he said I was getting obsessed!!!

Yorky · 30/12/2007 19:40

Love the mental picture of you with your head under the pillow taking your temp, "What are you doing?" "Nothing special dear!"
I'm not getting on well with the thermometer at the moment as you have to do it first thing in the morning and I'm not good at letting my small human alarm clock scream for two minutes before I get up
Congratulations Debithescot, call back occasionally and let us know how you're getting on!

bambam30 · 31/12/2007 10:29

good morning all of you yorky i hope your lo soon gets better my lo has just had bug after bug tokk him docs again this am cos his explosive runs not goin and he just said to keep giving fluids blah blah we go on honeymoon on thursday i really want him to be better poor little mite. get this i said to doc that there is so much of the stuff it comes out of his nappy and up to his chest and it just flies out and do you know what he said 'he's forcing it' what an idiot anyways what a big congrat to debthescot can i just ask are any of you actually scared of having another one - i don't mean literally but do you worry about the dynamics of family life and[whispers] whether you will love it as much as present lo or am i just weird? i will be startin a thread on this so you may also see it on here . anyway big cheers to you all and happy new year!

woose · 31/12/2007 14:18

Happy new year to you all!!

I know what you mean bambam. I feel a little bit scared about having another baby because sometimes I wonder how to cope with things as they are at the moment. However, I feel that however difficult things were I would still want another because when I get broody it is impossible to ignore!! The thing that I have an issue with is that I feel I really want another boy. I worry that if i did have a girl I would be disappointed. This is only because I am used to boys and I am not a very girly girl myself and I almost feel that I wouldn't know how to be with a little girl if that makes sense! Does anyone else feel like this.

Twinklingstar when are you going to start with the sticks? I was thinking tomorrow, but wondering is this too early?

fruitloop79 · 31/12/2007 15:18

hey all,
I finally got AF! after 88 days Now on day 8. Got a pelvic scan on 4th feb and oh crap I forgot to call GP for blood test results, i'll do it now - if they're open?

fruitloop79 · 31/12/2007 15:26

they're closed! surely today they should be open! It's not a bloody bank holiday!

Oh well, I'll have to wait till Weds

Huge congrats to debithescot! woose I know how you feel, impossible not to get obsessed, thank god for Mumsnet eh! That's the reason I wont go down the old thermometer route. I used to have a devise that is a bit like a little microscope tht you spit on which shows up fern like patterns when you're ovulating. I think it was called calista or something - i could be wrong though. I can't for the life of me remember where I bought it. You can hide it from DP/DH so it he'll never know how much you're obsessing

fruitloop79 · 31/12/2007 15:28

there you go it was the 4th one down

twinklingfairy · 31/12/2007 18:06

yeh, I would start tommorrow, but I have gone and lost them!
Actually woudl have started yesterday but couldn't find themthen either!
What on earth have I done with them??

No bambam you're no alone, I have had those worries too, but know i have heaps of love to give and my mum is my inspiration, If she can have 4 and love us all the same, I can love 2.
As for the work load? Well thats another worry altogether and I am ignoring it successfully

woose · 31/12/2007 19:54

Cheers fruitloop. It looks really good. Have not heard of that before. Was it obvious which days were fertile days, or was it difficult to decipher?

Can't believe GP not open today btw!

Hope you find those sticks too!!

bambam30 · 31/12/2007 20:25

twinklingfairy and woose thanx for feeling the same if you know what i mean woose i also am like you i just cannot imagine a girl lol you never know with any look we may be on an antenatal thread together wondering whether we have boys or girls[ fingers crossed wistfully] well my little man still not right been back to gp's and feel a little bit better saw a different one and gave loads of advice re sickness and runs and says we still fine to go on our honeymoon and not to worry [scratches head in confusion- how can youNOT worry] anyways i hope we all have a great new year and that it bodes better than my sorry half eaten ready meal left in haste to visit gp again

readyfornum2 · 01/01/2008 09:23

Hi all Happy New Year!!!!
Big congratulations on the BFPS
Well im on CD2 of cycle 1 of ttc and cant wait to start BDing lol

Lets hope that this year is full of lovely BFPS for us all

colabottle · 01/01/2008 18:34

can any of you tell me if im just being daft. my dd is 8 months old and i fed her with ebm for 4 weeks afte she was born due to me being pooly. my boobs have now stated leaking again, do you think it could be a sign im pregnant??? i have terible leg camps aswell.im on cd 24 of 28 day cycl and got bfn ealier today. i dont ov till cd18. im confuuuussssed!!!!!

Yorky · 01/01/2008 21:14

Bambam, i know exactly what you mean about how can you not worry when Lo is ill, finally baby seems to be having less scary nappies, after a fortnight, but he's seeming much happier in himself and eating happily. Going to see if I can get an appt at new Drs and find out about HVs to see if his weight is Ok, as he wasn't gaining much before we moved and he got ill. I also think he's cutting more teeth which probably isn't helping.
Have a wonderful honeymoon
I'm not worried so much yet about having enough love to go round, as you say twinklingfairy my mum loved 3 of us....
The laundry and sleep deprivation I'm just not thinking about!
Still have only had one real AF since baby so planning to drop to one b/f daily over next couple of weeks
Colabottle, I've never heard of anyone leaking so early but I have no idea what my own body is doing so if its what you want - Good Luck!

fruitloop79 · 01/01/2008 23:33

woose I have to say it was a bit useless for me but I'm not sure I ovulate regularly anyway. It's worth a go though eh?

colabottle · 02/01/2008 07:57

thanks got another bfn this am. got pains this am that feelslike af is on the way.

woose · 02/01/2008 13:10

OMG nightmare yesterday trying to use the ovulation sticks in private. I decided to have a shower and test then. Just produced sample in bowl, so I could dip the stick in and DS races in with DH close behind (DH had unlocked the bathroom door from the outside!!!). DS is shouting 'teeth' 'teeth' as according to DH cleaning his teeth just can't wait until I have finished my shower! I panic and quickly shove the bowl into the shower and close the door. I think the sample got diluted a bit, but managed to hide everything ok I think. Needless to say the test was negative, but that was only CD 12. Will keep going for a few more days to see what happens, DH back at work now so not a problem with privacy anymore. I hate having to hide things, I wish I could just be open and say I really want to maximise the chances each month for us, but he thinks that it is meddling and that what is meant to be will be.

Yorky · 04/01/2008 22:29

Thats quite funny Woose, in a very sympathetic way obviously! Went to the dr about something else a couple of days ago and mentioned ttc and her comment was to BD every other day throughout the month and not worry too much about temps and dates. DH very supportive of this approach!

readyfornum2 · 05/01/2008 07:46

well its cd6 for me and cant wait for the bding to begin!
DP works away for 4 days a week but looking at my dates he will be here from cd12 till morning of cd15 so hopefully we will catch my egg

I have lost a stone in the last month in preparation for ttc but need to lose some more, I lost 3 1/2 stone just before I got pg with DS (unplanned) so I need to lose another 2 stone to get to that weight (never lost it after DS) So Im going to try not to obsess about ttc until then but im sure I will anyway

Hope everyone else is ok and that we get some january BFPS x

fruitloop79 · 05/01/2008 07:58

LOL woose! Its really difficult to be discreet with a family isn't it! How are these men so flippant about TTC. We shouldn't have to hide away but we do . Trouble is they dont realise that it's actually quite difficult to catch ours eggs at the right time. I know my DP just wants it to be surprise so I'm gonna have to keep it from him - sad really cos it would be nice to share fears and concerns with him.
ready well done for the weight loss, how the hell did you cope with that over xmas? I've put on 10lbs since sept! Was doing really well yesterday until I discovered a box of chocs and scoffed them last night . Oh well, off shopping today so hopefully too busy to eat cr*ap - Just a few cappuccino's (skinny of course!)

fruitloop79 · 05/01/2008 07:59

woopsie, no need for the asterix in cr*p then!

readyfornum2 · 05/01/2008 08:18

Fruitloop I found it quite easy because I was working most of the time lol I started as a waitress in december so all the running around has helped plus when im serving food all day I dont get hungry [wink)
I am not dieting as such just watching the junk intake and getting more exercise -walking mainly

Enjoy your shopping
I know what you mean about men being flippant about it DP has told me im obsessed already but with him being away 4 days a week it is really going to put a dent in the BD routine, because DS was unplanned he thinks it will be easy but ive got a feeling it will take awhile

fruitloop79 · 05/01/2008 08:26

No wonder all waitresses seem to be skinny malinkys!
I serve food all day but to kids so I pick on all the their leftovers very hard to resist fish fingers smothered in ketchup .
Same here with DS who was also unplanned. DP also thinks it will be very easy. What he seems to forget is I was very lazy with the pill for about three years prior to falling pg (actually rarely took it so if trying it would prob have taking about three years anyway). Bloody men eh!
Thank heavens for MN! it's like a godsend

Yorky · 05/01/2008 18:59

I never found working with food all the time helped me loose weight, well done ready. I just have to be really strict about what munchies I buy as we eat quite well but if theres junk in the house, I'll eat it. The diet starts when I've finished the Christmas presents, should I worry about how people see us if most of our presents came in bottles and colourful tins!
Of course we obsess about ttc, reading your posts I realise how lucky I am not to be hiding from DH, but then I haven't had a period since Nov so thats frustrating. Planning to introduce bedtime formula when next tooth finally comes through so that should help my hormones.
Hope bambam is having a lovely honeymoon

loopybear · 06/01/2008 21:47

Hi hope everyone had a good christmas and new year. Have you settled in Yorky? I'm now on cycle 2 now if we're keeping the log of where we all are. Saw my lovely GP when DD was poorly who asked how TTC was going, she told me to make sure DH was getting plenty of Magnesium in his diet as well and go and see her in March if cycle hasn't settle down or not PG.
