aaah, little one is dancing round the sofa to annie on the telly, need to go and join him. would really like to hear from anyone in the same boat,

can't bore my childless friends with all the boring details constantly,

Hello claire 7471,
My ds is 30 mths and we have been trying for dc2 for a couple of months.Still really nervous. It took me just over a year to get prg.I have now found out i have got endometriosis and am due to have a grapefruit sized cyst removed and adhesions on the 20th Dec.Merry bloody christmas eh?I would love to have somebody to chat to.

MsSparkler · 25/11/2007 21:56

Hiya, i'll join you. My dd is 13mths. We started trying a few weeks ago and now i am really determined to get pregnant!

LadyOfWaffle · 25/11/2007 22:05

Hello!

Can I join please? DS is 20 months old, not used anything since having him but not actively TTC, but we decided we would start. Bit of a rut at the moment because although I missed a period, 4 tests have been negative and I am about 4 days away from my 'next' one, so it's very hard to TTC!

LadyOfWaffle · 25/11/2007 22:06

I have only told one person this (only today actually!) so it's still abit of a secret so keep it under your hats

Santasmissyontheside · 25/11/2007 22:06

a few of us have ttc after x mas but half of us are already trying if you want to pop over

ceebee74 · 25/11/2007 22:07

Me too - DS is 16 months. I came off the pill 6 weeks ago but ideally don't want to conceive until December so not really trying at the moment.

Conceived DS within 3 months but got a feeling it might not be so easy this time round!

Santasmissyontheside · 25/11/2007 22:08

ladyofwaffle i have not long had dd2 and we are not using anything but then my periods still have not returned so who knows whats going on!

Santasmissyontheside · 25/11/2007 22:09

ceebee that was quick! with dd's it took me 6 months roughly

Yorky · 26/11/2007 10:56

Hello everyone, DS is only 10 months but he went in his forward car seat so I now have a vacancy! Can't wait to have two seats in the back! Only just finished first period since he was born so cycle could be all over the place, anyone know anything about temp charting to give me some idea? Good luck to all

teuch · 26/11/2007 11:04

Hullo all, I'll join you! DS is 23 months and I came off pill 6 weeks ago and ideally looking for a BFP early next year (best laid plans eh? ) for various reasons.

However, now on CD37 with no AF. Done a few tests but BFN. I am thinking either mega-long cycle (which I can have, but usually only around 32 days) or else our very late BD did the job but still too early to test...

I took around 6 mths to get pregnant 1st time, mmc at 12 weeks then 3mths to get pregnant with DS. Like Claire I was basically pregnant or trying for ages, then breast feeding for 9 months. DS arrived a month early and very quickly...I now live on an island FAR away from hospitals!!

I'm scared...

MsSparkler · 26/11/2007 20:01

teuch i am in a similer situation as you. Came off the pill 5 weeks ago, now on CD33 and BFN. I am either thinking AF is late or i ov later than i thought meaning it's too early to test.

I do have the same symptoms as Shazza had on the other thread, cramping etc and she had a BFP at the weekend so i'm hoping for a BFP soon!

Mrsei25 · 26/11/2007 20:31

hi im TTC for number 2 aswell!!! my DD is 22 months and this is our first cycle since havin my coil removed so i dont know what will happen!! it took me 9 months to get preggers wit DD and i hope it wont take quite as long with this next one!!
ideally im lookin for a nice BFP for xmas!! well a girl can dream cant she?!
xx ei xx

Spink · 26/11/2007 20:38

can I join too? ds is 9 months and we've been trying since I got my period.. so about 5 cycles now I think. We were lucky with ds and conceived 2nd cycle. We're going to stop counting days and examining knickers ( dh too) for the next couple of months -'properly' trying has been a bit disheartening after a few cycles..
so. here's for a hopefully relaxing, loving and not too clinical ttcing for no 2!!

Its lovely having people thinking along the same lines as me, I felt nervous about jumping on a TTC thread as there are some heartaching threads with people who have been trying for years, and I would have felt guilty about getting impatient for a second. Has anyone done temp charting? Fingers crossed for BFP teuch and MsSparkler, isn't waiting the worst

fruitloop79 · 26/11/2007 21:53

I'm in

My DS is 29 months

Took last pill in Aug. Now on mega long cycle (which I'm pretty used to) CD61 now, I think I'm going for world record this time (and no not pg yet - tested at weekend)
We really want another baby but not sure we should be going for it really cos I'm a childminder and have max numbers already. So unfair Ofsted rule our lives as well as our jobs .

Here's lots of baby dust for us all, hopefully we'll have a few Christmas conceptions! *

Nappyhead · 26/11/2007 21:58

Hi all - can I join too? DS is 2 months we;ve been ttc no.2 for almost a year. Am flippin fed up. It took us 18 months to conceive DS and were undergoing tests when I found out I was pg. I'm fast approaching 35.

x

Nappyhead · 26/11/2007 22:00

Excuse the error above. DS is not 2 months (that would clearly be insane!!) DS is 26 months!! xx

dd666 · 26/11/2007 22:02

hi im too ttc #2 dd is 18mo and we have been ttc on and off since having her, dont think this month is the one as having early period cd19 im now cd22 had one bfn on fri and got get results from gp's tommoro as they tested me after i went about my early af!

nomoremagnolia · 27/11/2007 09:52

Hi all - don't quite know why I'm reading your thread as I'm ttc no1 (mn's very quiet in my defence!!) but saw yorky ask about temping and I can tell you about that if you like?

Basically your base body temp rises after ov, mine only rose by 0.3 degrees but it's trackable. You take your temp as soon as you wake up (whatever time it is and prob easier said than done with LO) and record it, you should see a rise in temp after ov, so it's only any good to use it to learn your cycles as by the time you get the temp rise you've already ov'd. Once your temp goes up after ov it stays high until the day before af when it drops back down (the one good thing about temping is that you get advanced warning of af) If you're pg it stays high though Hope that makes sense. The only thing is that you can get temp rises without ov'ing, so it's not foolproof, but it's good for learning your cycles and cheaper than ov testing sticks! You will need a fairly accurate digital thermometer though - idealy to 2 decimal places. You can buy special BBT thermometers in Boots - I just use a normal digital (1 decimal point) one.

Will check back on you later if you want to ask any q's please do, I realise I may not have explained it all that clearly Good luck to all of you

nomoremagnolia · 27/11/2007 09:56

temping buds thread These girls will tell you all about temping - they helped me learn! I don't temp anymore as I'm now on fertility drugs (temping's not foolproof unfortunately and although I was getting temp rises I wasn't ov'ing regularly)

bigboydiditandranaway · 27/11/2007 12:19

Hi, can i join too please
my ds is 20 months & have been trying to conceive for only 3 months.

At first i was terrified but am now feeling more at ease and hoping for a BFP, will be doing a test later when Tescos delivers it, wish me luck.

dd666 · 27/11/2007 12:35

good luck with the test bigboydiditandranaway!

claire7471 · 27/11/2007 16:04

Hi,

I started this thread and then buggered off. Find it hard to get on computer with 21 month old at my heels, much easier at work !

great to hear of everyone in the same boat and so many different situations. apart form the m/cs i didn't have any problems before but for some reason i'm consumed with this fear that it aint gonna happen this time...not sure why.....

i've heard alot of people saying it wasn't so easy second time round.......i'm trying to get myself ready for the fact that i'm not going to conceive first go and that's not a problem !

am i being stupid or what ?

I heard the opposite - that people start trying early because it took ages first time and then get scared when they fall pg straight away and have two close together.
I know what you mean about trying not to hope it will happen, where do you draw the line between not building your hopes up and staying positive?
Having said that, of course you're being stupid, in the nicest possible way - there is nothing sensible about ttc!
