Hi there,

my son is nearly 21 months. i conceived really easily last time but had 2 consecutive m/c before he came along so spent about a year and a half pregnant ! i'm scared 2nd time round won't be so easy and m/cs might come back but also sooooo excited. also i'm 36 and keep feeling really old and like i have to get it sorted soon ............

aaah, little one is dancing round the sofa to annie on the telly, need to go and join him. would really like to hear from anyone in the same boat,

can't bore my childless friends with all the boring details constantly,

cheers

Well that makes me unique as I am actually delighted that I got some spotting this morning so could be starting cycle 2 since Ds arrived. Thermometer in hand here we go!
Brother and SIl told me I'm going to be an Auntie in July, I'm delighted and not jealous, well more delighted than jealous, just a shame we've moved so much further away now
Good luck with the sexy underwear flowerfairy.
LO seems a bit better today and is keeping stuff down now but not his usual self

I hope it turns into a BFP next time you test bambam

You have a lovely day to look forward to though, hopefuly your mind will be too preoccupied with that to notice the time passing. And that TEW stays away from you too, of course.

Yorky · 21/12/2007 19:11

Oh Bambam, how frustrating, don't you wish the tests would make their mind up!

dancerandprancer · 22/12/2007 11:11

I re-tested yesterday morning and got BFP . Very excited but suddenly incredibly nervous too.

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you all have a good few days and get time to do some baby making practice.
I've just disected the duck's giblets, it was cool! Embarrasingly though I couldn't work out what everything was and I teach biology!

readyfornum2 · 27/12/2007 12:48

Hi Ladies also posted this on 2ww thread
I have been lurking for a while as I have been broody for number 2 for months now but didnt think DP was ready.
Anyway after DS (18 months) was ill just before christmas we got talking about how we are so lucky to have him (he wasnt planned and was a big shock but a happy one) and I mentioned giving him a sibling in the future and DP agreed that we could start trying now grin

Unfortunately I think we missed the boat this month as we decided about a week after I ov'd
so unless we have another big shock I am looking forward to AF arriving so that I can start obsessing about symptoms with the rest of you wink

bambam30 · 27/12/2007 15:49

woose · 28/12/2007 13:10

Hi everyone
Can I join in your thread? We have just started ttc no. 2. My DS is 14 months. I had a mc 2 months ago and that was with me getting Pg by accident. This made me feel that I def wanted to start trying properly again after Christmas. I am on day 9 of my cycle. I expect this is too early for anything to happen yet. Since the mc my cycle has been a bit weird and I have also been having a bit of pain in my lower left abdomen, don't know what that is all about. I just have this sneaky feeling that it is going to be hard to get PG this time. It took 6 months with DS. Can I ask how you all know when you are going to ovulate? Do you buy the ov tests or take temp or something, I have not done anything like that before, what do you recommend I do? xx

DebitheScot · 28/12/2007 18:05

No AF here yet, was due Tues at the earliest, can't remember how long last cycle was, think abnout 30 days so it should probably be making an appearance by now. But then I was a week late a few months ago so not getting excited yet. Am starting to think though that maybe i shouldn't be drinking (not that I've been drinking a lot, but still a couple of drinks each day for the past week or so). We've got fil, mil and sil all here till tomorrow so if it still hasn't appeared by the end of the weekend i might do a test. Think I have 1 in the cupboard. Can't quite believe I could be pg though as we only started trying this month.

Have had a really good christmas, was just the 3 of us on christmas day which was really nice. Ds was very excited by his presents but wanted play with them all so it took a long time to open them all. That was really nice though and really good fun. Then the inlaws arrived on boxing day and we had lots of presents again. Then had a nice meal with them last night (I made beef wellington, it was amazing!) and then got taken out for lunch today. Ds is obsessed with Granny (they live in Scotland so doesn't see them much) and won't let us do anything for him, its great! Unfortunatly though they go home tomorrow.

Yorky · 28/12/2007 21:31

Hello again all, hope Christmas was fun. We had a lovely time with my parents and even the inlaws behaved! DH only got told off a couple of times and DS upset tummy seems to slowly be improving.
Well I thought I'd started 2nd AF post baby but it wasjust a couple of days spotting so no idea where I'm up to, and with baby being ill I've been feeding him myself more which won't help me at all, although I hope it helped him a bit, if not - very annoying!
Glad the wedding was lovely bambam, crying is not embarassing, you could hardly hear my vows! Have a fruiutful honeymoon!
Good luck in 2008 to all

twinklingfairy · 28/12/2007 22:13

Hiya woose
Yeah! I have a cycle buddy in this thread, I am on my 9th day of my cycle too (CD9)
My DD is 14 months but we have been trying for 6 months now and nothing happening so far ah well will see what the festive period brings for us.
I know I am due to ovulate about CD17 cos I have been using ov kits (opk's) for a few months and took my temps last month. This month I am planning to just do the temps, but I have a few opk's left from last month so prob won't be able to help myself
Also I have had ov pains the day after I got positives on the opks. That sounds like what you are getting. They are like stabbing pains (norm on the right) down near my hip.
Then you watch out for the EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) Soon as you get that, you need to grab DH/P

I cried as soon as they started to sing the hymns bambam Totally didn't expect to and neither did anyone else, as I tried desperately to get my sisters attention for a tissue!
I still can't sing them for crying and they were all my favourites, chosen especially so that I could enjoy a good sing, now all I do is blub!!

How old is you LO yorky? My DD stopped BF when she was 13mo I wodl have kept going if I could have. Though I did wonder if it was affecting our being able to get pregnant but 2 months on and still no BFP and I really wish I had tried harder to keep her going. Though at the same time, life is easier not doing it and she is a happy wee soul, so I guess I should stop whinging

woose · 29/12/2007 10:44

Hi Twinklingfairy
Right well I might pop down to Boots later and look out some ovulation kits. I must try not to get obsessed with it though. I will have to try and hide them from my DH because he hates all the date counting and testing and things. He wants everything to be all natural and romantic. I am just going to try not to talk about it too much. My cycle used to be very reliable and I used to ovulate on day 14, but that seems to have changed recently. I shall start taking notice of mucus too. have never really paid much attention before.

I fell down the stairs this morning rushing to get DS his milk, have a very sore bottom!! Glad I didn't do that when pregnant or holding tiny baby. However, the silver lining is that my DH made me a cup of tea and told me to sit down. Now THAT does not happen very often.

twinklingfairy · 29/12/2007 17:50

I just picked my sticks up from ebay, about £3 for 15, I think?
You will pay about £20 in boots
I am far too obsessed (sp?) but I will still not pay £20 or them. Though they may be more reliable, I dunno. But mine have always been spot on.

woose · 29/12/2007 20:15

I have bought some sticks from Boots. They were £12 for 5. I know that is loads but I just thought I would give it a try for the first month and then order some from the internet for future months, you never know I might not need them!!! It said in the instructions that if your cycle is normally 28 days then you should start using them on day 11. This would be what my normal cycle is, but last month is was 38 days. Not sure what it will be this month, so not sure when to start testing. Don't want to waste the sticks.

Yorky · 30/12/2007 12:47

Hi twinklingfairy, my LO is 11months and struggling to return his disgusting nappies to normal. He is supposed to be just having his first and last feeds of the day from me and bottles for 11s and afternoon snack but he's been spoilt recently.
I bought ovulation sticks from ebay with a thermometer but like you Woose I don't know when to use them, the temperature thing only tells you its too late for weeing on the sticks!

DebitheScot · 30/12/2007 18:39

Sorry guys but I am leaving you. Just did a test and got a bfp!! Quite shocked that it happened so quick!
