Hi there,

Ok I'm ready to try for number 2 and feeling a bit nervous and in need of company ! anyone out there in the same boat, how about the mutual support group starts here.

my son is nearly 21 months. i conceived really easily last time but had 2 consecutive m/c before he came along so spent about a year and a half pregnant ! i'm scared 2nd time round won't be so easy and m/cs might come back but also sooooo excited. also i'm 36 and keep feeling really old and like i have to get it sorted soon ............

aaah, little one is dancing round the sofa to annie on the telly, need to go and join him. would really like to hear from anyone in the same boat,

can't bore my childless friends with all the boring details constantly,

cheers

i have been ttc no. 2 for 5 months and getting a bit worried. first time lucky with DS and also had an early BFP after first attempt in july but then got heavy AF and no luck since. all quite stressy as went back to work FT in july too, with the idea that in no time at all i'd be pg and off on ML! Ha! as time goes on, i'm going to be stuck at work for longer and longer when really i want to be at home with DS (24m). Boo. working hard to get there (every other night in fertile period) but it's all fun has gone out of it now . i know it's not been that long but still getting me down. wish i'd started earlier...

fairysnuff · 30/11/2007 14:52

I know exactly how you feel libbyssister, we managed without even trying the first time but this time we are 4 months in and nada!
DH is still enjoying the practice and it is an increase in that department for us so he happy to oblige when I say, go
But it is a little like doing a job to get the end results, for me. Though we are not bad together so I am always pleased with the results
Oops, did I share too much!?

fairysnuff · 30/11/2007 14:54

I was convince for a bit there that my womb was damaged goods. What with 2 chemical pregnancies and sooo many symptoms this time round. It does get to you after a bit.
You start to think, what is wrong with me? It worked last time?

teuch · 30/11/2007 18:13

Hullo again! AF arrived wed so CD3 now. Haven't read thread yet, will catch up later so apologies if I have already missed any big news!!

Last cycle was something like 38 days so I expect I will be OV about the same time Santa is droppnig down the chinmney...

Yorky · 30/11/2007 18:40

libbyssister - let me be the first to say that worrying about it doesn't help and just relax! I used to want to thump people who said that.
Teuch - all I can say is have a VERY good Christmas!

loopybear · 30/11/2007 19:22

Yorky where are you moving to? DH said he wants to be there for the birth but said he doesn't mind missing the disturbed nights of the early months!!!

poppysocks · 30/11/2007 21:39

Can I join too? DD is 21 months and we're on our third month of trying. DD an accident so absolutely to idea how long it could take this time. Suspect it could be a while as DH is a smoker and we both, probably, drink rather more than we should to give us the best chance. We're determined not to get toooooo focussed on this though and keep life on hold in the meantime. Already feeling that might be rather easier said than done...

usuallytooshytochat · 30/11/2007 22:31

I'll join! Been ttc for 2 months and just got af today after thinking we had struck lucky already. Big downer. DS is 22 months and was easy. have a dread that it may be harder to conceive 2nd time round.

dancerandprancer · 01/12/2007 15:49

Hi. Can I join. Have been TTC for 2 months. DD is 2 next week. We were really lucky with DD and conceived straight away. Me thinks it may not be so easy this time!

GreenGlassGoblin · 01/12/2007 16:01

Signing up! Also 36, also concieved DS as a surprise 'first time' thing, also worried time is running out. This is month 4 of ttc #2 and no luck yet (though with good reason this month, grrr).

Mags143 · 01/12/2007 16:02

Took 11 years to get pregnant with DD!! She is nearly 18 months now and not actively TTC. Would like to try in new year, so if i conceive quickly, DD will be two when number2 arrives!! Great plan eh? I'm 37, so time is running out for me (and my eggs i fear)Here's to a baby boom in September!! xx

deenymcqueenygoreandguts · 01/12/2007 16:07

mine is 4.
im an old bird so gotta get a move on
took us 2.5 years to get preggers, had 2 M/Cs so im in for a rough ride i think
we started trying last month

fairysnuff · 01/12/2007 17:02

ooh lovely lots of new people to share my troubles and woes with
Golly, 11 years mags
Why do you think it takes so long with ttc#2?
They say the birth is easier cos your body has been through it once and knows what it is doing. Why doesn't it know how to concieve then?

Should we get a list on the go? So we all know what our stories are?

Fairysnuff CD10 cycle 4 DD 14mo(1st cycle)

Or is that just TMI

Well, just copy and paste mine into your next post and the list will grow.

Theochris · 01/12/2007 21:42

Hiya, Mags, 11 yrs wow that must have been tough.

I reckon it can take a while for no. 2 is that sadly we are all getting older. Hey nothing I can do about that!

I'm CD 21 but my cycle is all over the place this month (as I said I'm a charting obsessive). So not expecting AF for a good while even if I'm not pregnant. We have't been using contraception since AF came back but we only recently started to actively try.

Hope all is well with everyone

libbyssister · 01/12/2007 22:30

Yorky, you're so right. I've just been reading about people with secondary infertility who've tried for years to conceive DC2 and it's put things into some kind of perspective, but still easy to get caught up in it all. i tried OVK for a month and then realised that i didn't want to be ruled by a pissy stick but never say never. just gonna keep trying.

gotta go. D15 in a 28d cycle

fairysnuff · 02/12/2007 00:15

Just to get the ball rolling?
I have taken out the cycle days, it maybe makes it to uniformed. Would you rather this was a little more informal?

Fairysnuff cycle 4 DD 14mo(1st cycle)
libbyssister cycle 5 DS 24mo
Theochris cycle ? DD14mo
claire7471 cycle ? DS 21mo
nobodysfool Cycle 2 DS 30mo

No worries if you are not up for listing your details
I just thought it might be interesting to see how we are all getting on.
I have a terrible memory for details

loopybear · 02/12/2007 01:52

Fairy nice idea. DD is 16 months and we're on cycle 1. For some reason I can't sleep so thought I'd look in to see if anyones posted DH suggested I had a hot milky drink as he needs to sleep because he's preserving energy for TTC!!!!

fruitloop79 · 02/12/2007 08:38

Hi, can I jump on? I've not posted for a while. In fact I'm not sure I've posted at all on this thread

Keep thinking if I start posting I'll get obsessive and it'll never happen, but I'm already obsessed. I can't really talk to DP about it cos he isnt desperate for 2nd DC now although he's happy to not use any protection and if it happens it happens iyswim. I cant really talk to friends cos everytime I feel a little sick/tired/achy etc they'll be asking if I'm pg.

So if I can talk to you lovely ladies it would really help.

I'm not really expecting it to happen anytime soon as I have extremely erratic AF's. I've got an underactive thyroid and on medication for it but still AF AWOL .
MY DS was conceived after being very lazy with the pill for about 3 years. I think I assumed I couldnt have kids cos of AF having mind of it's own. DS will be 3 in June.
Came off pill beginning of Aug so early days yet. 1st cycle after pill was 53 days! I suppose normal after pill?

Ok, here's my stats.

Cycle 2 CD67!! - gotta be a world record
DS 29 months

I did a pg test over a week ago bfn so might do another today if I get a chance. Keep getting niggly AF type aches for past week so I'm sure it's imminent. If test BFN and still no AF by Tues, i'm gonna go GP's for an explanation next week sometime.
I'll keep you posted

Yorky · 02/12/2007 09:16

Hi al, cycle 1 really as first AF since DS 10motns arrived.
loopybear we're off to brize norton.
Good luck everyone,

Do you want to put in your cycle days so we can really obbsess or not bother?

Wow 67 days, fruitloop you must be going insane with the not knowing?

fruitloop79 · 02/12/2007 17:38

yeah well you get used to it It's quite long though isnt it

bought tests today - superdrug cheapies. So when the moment comes I'll test. Do you think better to wait till morning?
I actually have been feeling a little wierd today. A bit nauseous and off food a bit. I think it's psychological though cos I'm thinking about the test result!

dancerandprancer · 02/12/2007 18:18

Not sure if this is how its done?

Fairysnuff cycle 4 DD 14mo(1st cycle)

dancerandprancer cycle 2 DD 24mo

fairysnuff · 02/12/2007 19:37

Perfect dancerandprancer , is that your christmas name?

Yeah, reckon you're gonna have to wait until morning, fruitloop
Whatever it is that the test detects is strongest in the morn, cos it will have been so long inbetween toilet visits.
I often wonder though, what if you're up half the night with LO?

fruitloop79 · 02/12/2007 20:25

Well I couldnt wait and just as I thought all those symptoms are in my head cos it was a BFN. Might try again in morning just to make sure. Pretty sure will be the same cos the 1st symptom I got for DS was bigger boobs which DP noticed 2 weeks before I even thought to test!

Stupid question - What's LO? lovely offspring?

fairysnuff · 02/12/2007 20:34

Little One
Oh dear, that a shame that you got a BFN.
I wouldn't have been able to help myself either though.
