hello lovely people and thank you so much for being so kind and lovely and for cheering me up, hiding jollybear DG and sarah. Youa re all complete stars

I have been super decisive and booked a GP appointment and even managed to get a cancellation for Friday afternoon, hurrah! It feels empowering to do something positive like booking an appointment at the doctor. I hadn't realised until this morning that hitting the 12 months/1 year TTC anniversary would be so hard and so painful. It came completely out the blue and I have surprised myself.

My sister is a GP, but although I love her dearly and we are really close, I just couldn't speak to her about this even though I have so many questions.

Big hello to everyone else on the thread - what news with you, cbcb bucky 07MTW . Shreksmissus - have you tested yet? Any news with you?

coolkat - I wanted to say again that I shouldn;t have been so caught up in myself this morning and that I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. Lots of love to you

07mumstheword · 03/12/2007 12:16

What a morning!

Coolkat How totally devestating for you and DH please make sure you take good care of yourselves.

GG I'm so sorry I can only imagine how difficult it must be TTC #1 for 12 months with no joy. I hope you get some tests sorted soon to give you some answers on how to move forward.

DG You aswell, gutted for you. You are so knowledgeable so no one can say it's not from the lack of trying and doing all the right things. I hope it was a faulty test/too early or some such thing because it's just not fair!

Sarah I don't know if you'll hold out on the testing I know I wouldn't

PSB Sorry for the disappointment but it sounds like we might see you again

whitedaisy Sorry I have no idea on temps.

I'm on my 2ww wait now, I'm CD12 and I'm very grateful that I've been lucky enough to get early on OPK and short cycles. We've bd'd 6 out of 7 days this week so can't do more than that (well maybe 1 more day ). I will tell you something that might make you smirk, DH got so carried away last night I had to say "you do remember where it's got to end up?" Thank God I did because he said "ooh yeah sorry"!

07mumstheword · 03/12/2007 12:19

GG Well done you! Friday afternoon too how impressive. It's great you feel empowered and wonderful you've done something.

digitalgirl · 03/12/2007 12:28

well done GG!

Shazza2002 · 03/12/2007 13:06

Just thought I'd pop in as it sounds like your all in need of some positive vibes and babydust * MTW* Thanks for looking in on me on the other thread. I still feel more at home here though so hope nobody minds me hanging around . You sound like you've been a very randy busy girl with all the BDing in you house. Just one question, where was it if you had to remind it where to end up ?? ??

coolkat Really, really sorry. You got your BFP 2 days before me so was really rooting for you. I'm not sure what else to say except really thinking of you.

GG Maybe too much sex has made you miserable . FWIW, friend of mine was also TTC for 12 months. Made the appoinment at the docs. Arranged for bloods etc and other tests to be done, sods law the next time she went back she had to tell the doctor not to worry as she was PG. It seems once she faced that it was gonna take a while and she got over that hurdle of whether to visit doc it happened. Hope the same happens to you

sarahn So you are 11dpo and haven't tested yet. Ok, so maybe it is just me that's nuts

shreksmissus When are you testing?

and finally old cycle buddy DG You say you think you have 16 days lutael phase, how many DPO are you? Is there a chance you could have tested too early?

JollyBear · 03/12/2007 13:08

Yes, well done for getting such a swift appointment GG! MTW is right, it is empowering to do something that will help.

I think I am officially on the 2WW now. I might have another go tomorrow though just to make sure I've had a bit of cramping today and yesterday. It was kind of like very mild period pain, does that sound like ovulation anyone? I haven't had any EWCM as far as I can tell though.

sarahnh · 03/12/2007 13:20

well done gg, lets hope its a very positive visit!!

Hiya shazza, how are you feeling these days?? I am too scared to test, after last month's nightmare, i think i am officially frightened of pg tests!!!

This is also our last month of trying, we always said we would give it a year and it is almost a year now, so i guess i am proglonging it!!! Will be very sad to stop ttc but it has pretty much ruled our lives for the last year, so we want to concentrate on our dear dd and us xxxxx

DG/Jolly - I couldn't believe I got a GP appointment so quickly. When the receptionist said "this Friday 3pm" I nearly fell over. I didn't even have to beg to be fitted in . DH is also looking to make an appointment so we can rule in/out any issue with his little swimmers. It's scary, but I can legitimately say that we have tried properly for 12 months, so goign to the GP is the only way to keep things moving forward while maintaining our current punishing BD-ing regime .

There is a TTC#1 Since Forever thread, which looks like it has my name on it now! Although I wouldn't leave you 2WW-sters for the world (unless I'm chased out the thread by posters with pitchforks for being a misery guts )

07MTW - thanks for the kind words and can't wait to follow the symptoms this month. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for the happy anecdote about your friend shazza - it is appreciated and great to hear positive tales. You must stick around this thread as we are not ready to let you go yet

hidingBTS- are you testing soon?

sorry to whitedaisy for ignoring your post earlier. I don't know anything about temps, so can't really help. There is a temping thread with a few people who might be more expert than me.

Bucky - you sound as if you have a busy day and have fun with hair appointments and dress finding.

Hootie · 03/12/2007 13:36

Hi Everyone Have been reading your thread and hope you dont mind me joining in. Have been ttc for a year at Xmas, so GG I can relate to what you've been saying! Should find out the results of my 3rd blood test today - fingers crossed that i've ovulated or I'm going to scream

Shazza2002 · 03/12/2007 13:41

Oh yes forgot bucky Hope you find that sexy little dress.

I am hopeless at clothes shopping, never find anything that fits/I like, hence why my DD has a lovely wardrobe full of clothes, can't come home empty handed

GryffinGirl · 03/12/2007 13:50

hello Hootie and a big welcome Sorry that you joined the thread on such a down beat day. Everyone here is lovely and I'm sorry to hear that you have been TTC for a year too. Are you TTC#1 or do you have other DC's? Good luck with the blood tests. You are probably a good person to ask what it is like for your first appointment at the GP - when did you go to your GP?

DG Bucky - as I will be around CD3 on Saturday for the meet up, you will need to hide the wine from me or risk being very thirsty . Actually, i will be cutting right down from a few glasses a week to nearly nothing now on.

Hootie · 03/12/2007 13:58

Hi. I'm TTC#1 aswell. My first appt with my GP was ok, although he wasn't overconcerned and when its been the only thing on your mind for so long having a Gp appt is a major thing! He wanted to do day 3 and day 21 tests for LH, FSH and progesterone. However I have about 44 day cycles so I knew I wouldn't have ovulated by day 21. I was right when the results came back. I had another test day 35 and I'm trying to get through to get the results right now!!!!

GryffinGirl · 03/12/2007 14:03

hmmm, interesting. I will be day 3 on Friday, so this may all work out for the best, if that's what I need

Hootie · 03/12/2007 14:10

Really hope it goes well for you. I've just got through to the Dr's and the results are not back yet, so i'll try again tuesday. I think the plan going forward will be to repeat all the tests in my next cycle and then hopefully by then my hospital referral will have come through.good luckx

santasmissus · 03/12/2007 14:13

hello everyone and welcome to hootie gg and dg sorry you're feeling so down. i also broke down at work the other day. this ttc lark is so hard. i think this a really lovely supportive thread and i would definitely be feeling a lot worse if it wasn't for being able to spill all to a load of people i don't even know. so go ahead, rant, scream, cry and do everything you need to til you feel able to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and carry on in whatever direction you feel you need to, because we'll all be here to listen read and rant, scream, cry and laugh with you {{{{{ }}}}}

deliberately did an early test to satisfy poas addiction (which i have managed not to do for a long time) so not disappointed with the expected bfn. am not testing for real til at least cd31 () as cycle can be 25-30 days so definitely want to be late before testing, esp. as i don't think i will actually get that far.

coolkat · 03/12/2007 14:14

Hi Ladies

Thanks for all messages. GG so sorry for you. If you can't rant here though then where can ya eh? So rant away, we have to say what we feel. I feel shit! Need to buy some big pants for xmas parties to hold in tummy that had started to thicken. Hosp phoned today and gotta go tomorrow for another blood test - bloody hate needles.

Right ladies we need a pick me up here have some fresh fruit salad and for those that feel naughty some special mint choclates...

GG good luck at doc's tell it like it is, write lists down before you go so you remember everything you want to say.

sarahnh · 03/12/2007 14:37

coolkat, i hope you are doing ok...

Ladies i seriously need some advice here, i fell over on my ankle yesterday ( feel out of a bus i'm very clumsy!) and hubbie thought i should get some gel which contains ipforen(cannot spell), i thought i had better get a first response test too just in case...

No i have just done the test and there is a faint line, but there is a big space between the line and the control line... on the instructions it looks like the lines should be close together... as shazza said earlier i think i am only 11dpo... HELP!!!

OP posts:
JollyBear · 03/12/2007 14:49

Sarahnh, maybe you should get another test?! If it wasn't a two pack box I'd run out and buy another.

Fingers well and truly crossed for you!

07mumstheword · 03/12/2007 15:35

Sarah A line is usually a line and when I've done First Response tests there does always seem to be a good gap between the two lines? I don't want to raise any hopes so I do think you may need to splash out on another test - get a double pack then if you are still not sure you could do one in the morning with your FMU. I do sooooo hope it is a BFP I was sad to hear you may not try any more after a year. Good luck.

CoolKat I should have fruit salad but I have no will power where chocolate is concerned they were yummy. Thank you.

digitalgirl · 03/12/2007 15:48

omg sarah fingers ever so tightly crossed but it sounds life a BFP to me!!!!

sarahnh · 03/12/2007 15:48

LADIES.............BPF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M in shock!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
GryffinGirl · 03/12/2007 15:51

Hurrah for sarah and her BFP!!!! There had to be somehting good to come out of today. That is wonderful news! I am so, so happy for you!

Shazza2002 · 03/12/2007 15:55

sarahn If you're 11DPO I would get a CBD. I know First Response have a higher detection pre AF but I would say if there's and HCG there then CB will find it !!

Plus with 'pregnant' 'not pregnant' takes the whole is it, isn't it question away.

Does sound positive though.

How soon can you get another test, I'm waiting

Shazza2002 · 03/12/2007 15:55

So you did another test, and there was me too busy typing an essay!!!!!!

Shazza2002 · 03/12/2007 15:56

oooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My babydust did the trick. Congratulations
