Hi ladies

I'm 23 and my partner (27) and I are TTC baby #1!

It was our first month trying this month and AF is due 2nd/3rd of March, so far just BFN! My cycle is roughly 26/27 days! But didn't expect to get pregnant first cycle so I'm feeling ok 👌🏼

Anyone else TTC baby no 1 with a similar cycle? 🥰 xx

@lisamxxx Yes I'm feeling pretty good now af is done! I've genuinely made all the cooking as easy as possible this week and next so that we have allll the time and energy for bd :D

I used a opk strip for the first time this afternoon. Bit of a fail - I was going to go back and check the result after 10mins, but obviously forgot all about it until a couple of hours later! Not sure what DH thought about that sitting there on the bathroom sink. I'll set a timer tomorrow!

Really hope this month is a good month for you all :)

Neom87 · 15/03/2021 20:58

@genevive123 Mothers day was always going to be tough for me this year as unfortunately i recently lost my lovely mum very suddenly.

@genevive123 and @kty09 I am feeling ok at the moment, trying not to get my hopes up but it's hard and I am already thinking about when i might test and what I would do if it was positive, and what I would do if u tested early and it was positive but it was a chemical etc etc. Its so easy to get carried away!

Femometer is saying its due on 26th, but I don't know how accurate that will be at the moment due to only recently coming off the pill.

@lisamxxx this is the first month we have properly tried with OPKs and even though the realistic side of me is saying come on its only the first proper cycle and properly trying, the other half of me really hopes and thinks well why shouldn't it be this one. I just know I will be upset if its negative or I get AF.

@taytay2020 how can you forget the OPKs I can't leave it alone until its done and I took a picture on my app! Blush

Genevive123 · 15/03/2021 21:02

@Neom87 I am so sorry to hear that lovely x lots of love! I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you! I hope you had lots of support!!

Its definitely hard not to get your hopes up! 26th isn't long now! You'll soon get on top of your cycle and get to grips with it, though hopefully you've conceived this month ☺️ fingers crossed for you!!

Neom87 · 15/03/2021 21:16

Thanks @genevive123.

Fingers crossed but who knows! Ideally I want to wait until AF due, but seems so far away! I then I see people testing at 8/9/10 DPO so think we'll should i? But I don't want the uncertainly....but I feel like I will be itching to test!

Thinking ahead a bit, do you think you will tell your other half straight away, or wait to organise some inventive way to tell him?

lisamxxx · 15/03/2021 22:09

@taytay2020 I'm happy to be starting a new cycle but at the same time just want it to be the end of it already to find out if this is my month or not. That is a good idea! The less stress the better. Fingers crossed for us this month! Are you planning to test early or wait and see if af comes?

@Neom87 I was the same last cycle, I really hoped it would happen even though I knew it was just our first cycle trying. Hopefully this will be your month! I'm not testing for ovulation yet but might consider it if we don't get lucky this month. I didn't let myself get to let down last cycle when af came but I think I will be more upset this time if it doesn't happen. I just keep trying to tell myself I've not been trying for long at all and that it's completely normal for it to not happen straight away.

Genevive123 · 15/03/2021 22:09

@Neom87 maybe if you're not 100% sure on your cycle at the moment then wait? Just because your Luteal Phase could be longer thank you think / the app says? :)

I'm not sure ! I think I kind of want to do the test together , I'd love to just turn the test over together and have that moment of shock! How about you?? Xx

Kty09 · 16/03/2021 07:15

@Neom87 I want there to be two dark lines when I get a positive so I’m not guessing which is why I’d like to wait but I 100% get the wanting to test early!
Every time something comes up I think of cute ways of telling people like now with Easter coming up etc! It’s my OHs birthday next month so would love to surprise him then it works out perfect with my next cycle! But who knows when it will happen for us ☺️

Annwen · 16/03/2021 08:04

Update here at 6dpo. Feeling some tingling around my nipples and have a 'heavy' feeling in my vagina - hard to describe, but it's something I've never felt before. DP says nothing feels different when DTD. By the way, there's no harm in carrying on making love is there, I mean it can't cause any problems if I were to be expecting? Sorry to ask what might be silly questions, but I'm still so new to this TTC scene Smile xx

Neom87 · 16/03/2021 08:46

@kty09 @genevive123 I like the Idea of telling him in some cute way, but then I think there Is no way I could keep it from him for the few days it might take to organise somethin! Just couldn't imagine being in the house doing normal everyday things thinking I'm pregnant and him being oblivious!! @annwen sex during the whole 9 months is safe If you have a normal uncomplicated pregnancy.

Annwen · 16/03/2021 08:52

Thanks for the reassurance @Neom87. DP was offering to wear a condom this morning, bless him - he's more nervous than me I think! Told him not to, though - had enough of those things when we were waiting post-pill to TTC Smile

Marshmallow190 · 16/03/2021 09:57

Morning everyone! Sorry I don’t come on here too often so trying to catch up. I think AF is coming 😖 🥺 not going to test until I’m a week late as I was torturing myself the last 2 months. @Genevive123 I’m so interested in the tarot card reading! I love all of that stuff. Hoping it comes true for you! Just so I know. Do you guys try to DTD every day? We have been when I’m fertile but I’ve read online you should do it everyday for the whole month. I’m worrying we miss the timing. Very jealous of people who just fall pregnant. Also which OPK do you use? I’m using clear blue and I don’t get the percentages xx

taytay2020 · 16/03/2021 10:18

@neom87 So sorry to hear about your mum, Sunday must have been very hard. I was only CD7 yesterday so the result of my opk wasn't particularly important! But I'm glad I've got that fail out the way now. 10min timers from now on!

I don't think there's any way I could hide a bfp from my dh, so he'll be finding out immediately! However this means I'll have to wait to test until an appropriate moment, and not when he's halfway through a meeting :D

@lisamxxx I'm going to try and hold out and not test til 14dpo, but let's see how long I actually last if I spot any symptoms!

@annwen ooh those are some promising signs! I'm sure you're ok to keep making love either way, and I've read other mumsnetters recommend that you continue in the tww in case you ovulate later than you expected.

@marshmallow1990 I think nhs advice is dtd every 2-3 days for a year before you seek help from your doctor, which does imply that you continue throughout the whole month, but if you know your cycle and your fertile week then I think you can take it easy at other times without worrying! We're going to dtd every other day from about a week before estimated ov to a week after, because I don't know my cycle that well.

taytay2020 · 16/03/2021 10:19

Argh sorry that should have been @marshmallow190! So hard to type in usernames from memory!

Marshmallow190 · 16/03/2021 11:00

@taytay2020 thank you! We are doing the same as you (week before and week after) and then not being so regimented the rest of the month. But this hasn’t worked for us yet. I may try DTD every day for my next cycle and see what happens 😂 xx

Timetobeamummy · 16/03/2021 11:21

Morning Ladies! So good news high OPKs has arrived 98% this morning I’m delighted I never thought it would arrive as it’s been so frustrating. DP isn’t back to work until tomorrow night then he is away so it’s like the stars aligned.

@Genevive123 how long did you have high OPKs for? First time OPKs so not sure how long can expect it to continue for? My plan is to get a little gift soon and hide it ready for when get a BFP in the future and give it to him as soon as he comes home. However I worry it’s going to Jinx it!

@Neom87 sorry to hear about your mum.

@Marshmallow190 we were going to try every day but because I’m not as used to my cycle at the moment we would be shattered. I had what I thought was ovulation bleeding last Thursday so if we DTD every night since then we probably would of lost all our energy ahead of peak today/tomorrow.

DTD every other day from Thursday and then will DTD today, tomorrow to ensure covered all bases. Although waking up at 6am this morning wasn’t fun after terrible sleep so might have a nap to ensure I’m fighting fit tonight 🤣🤣

Marshmallow190 · 16/03/2021 11:26

@taytay2020 I think we will be shattered too! Hoping AF is a no show but I don’t think it will be the case 😢 which OPK do you use? I want to get the ones with the % as clear blue don’t give this. Happy humping 😂😂 xx

Kty09 · 16/03/2021 12:45

@Annwen I am 2 days behind you at 4DPO, although I don’t have much hope this month we only managed to catch the actual ovulation day as my other half was working away! It makes it a bit more stressful but I’m sure the right time will come.
I have read a lot about one of the main symptoms being a change in your boobs, dark nipples etc so keep an eye! Are you going to test next week or wait to see what happens?
I think it is fine to carry on having as much sex as you want and probably good for the happy hormones in your body!! X

Kty09 · 16/03/2021 12:47

@Timetobeamummy it’s hard when they aren’t at home all the time isn’t it. We managed to catch the day after my peak so presumably the actual ovulation day but I’m thinking it could have been to late for us. Next month looks better for us! Hope it works out good for you! X

taytay2020 · 16/03/2021 12:55

@timetobeamummy I like the idea of getting a gift! Not sure what I'd get, maybe a baby manual haha

@marshmallow190 I've got one step opks. Not sure if they're working though - is the pink dye supposed to spread up the whole strip immediately, does anyone know?! I swear I haven't gone over the mark line! The control line is then visible pretty much straight away. No idea if that's right but it's not what I was expecting.

Kty09 · 16/03/2021 13:31

@taytay2020 @Marshmallow190 I was using one step and was getting really disheartened as I was barely even getting two lines, the control line was also faint. I bought the femometer ones and they are so much better for me! Always can see two lines and can tell they are much better quality. But I don’t know if I had a dodgy batch or what haha! I use them with the femometer app as @Genevive123 recommended and I think it’s great to track!

Genevive123 · 16/03/2021 13:53

@Marshmallow190 ooh and me I can't wait to see if the tarot reading comes true! Next cycle if so!! I've been DTD with OH multiple times around peak and just a few times leading up to it! I'm using Femometer and think it's great!!

@Timetobeamummy I had high results on Sunday Evening with my peak yesterday so only a couple of days, it's dropped from peak to "high" today!

@taytay2020 I definitely recommend femometer! I've just ordered more for next cycle!

Hi I'm. Trying to conceive and I had 3 days ago a bleed I'm not due until 24th march I had a bleed on the 14th March I stopped the same day was it implantation

Kty09 · 16/03/2021 14:02

@taytay2020 this is the difference in a few hours , bottom one is one step and top is the femometer strips! They were all coming out like this with the one step ones X

Sorry I am totally gate crashing 🤣🙈 but I've been using the Femometer LH strips and I've had a high reading for 5 days now :(( I'm wondering if mine are being picked up correctly! The control line seems super light too

Genevive123 · 16/03/2021 14:15

@xoJellyBean wanna post a photo? ive not had any issues with femometer! X
