@Hayesdays it's an exciting time, just cant wait to see the day we all get our positive hpts I'm more excited this time round than ever before 😁😁😁😁😁

Neom87 · 02/02/2021 21:14

@hayesdays... we are the same in a way, how long do you wait around? We got married Aug 19 - were due to go on honeymoon March 20 literally the week after travel ground to a holt. Waited last year, hoping to get our honeymoon moon in first and have now resigned ourselves to the fact that you can't really plan anything travel wise and it could well be another year. I am 34 shortly so we need to get cracking! Can't keep putting life on hold! Smile

Fraanne · 02/02/2021 21:17

@Hayesdays I’ve used them this time and got a peak yesterday! First time I’ve managed to catch it as normally I have complete irregular periods and felt like I was using them for no reason if you get me! ☺️

Dinomama21 · 02/02/2021 22:21

@pixiedust21 hey! I created an account a few days ago, felt exactly the same as you and now have the courage to join in.

@Markygirl1995 @Fraanne I find it more exciting this time round to- like I'm actually excited to pee on a stick for the OPKs!

Markygirl1995 · 02/02/2021 22:24

@Dinomama21 oh my gosh same hahaha sometimes I even do 2 becos I'm buzzing 🤦‍♀️🤣 which ones do you use?? I use the easy at home ones found they're more reliable. I've got some diary shiz going on temping opks 🤣🤣 then charting it

Gretafamily · 02/02/2021 22:45

Hey everyone, have set up an account today rather than just lurking. TTC #2 and have an 18 month old. Very frustrating though as still breastfeeding and still haven’t had periods yet. Wondering if I should be actively trying or wait for periods to return?!? Got so obsessed when I was TTC last time so hopefully I can be a bit more normal this time!

Dinomama21 · 02/02/2021 22:49

@Markygirl1995 I've not used them at all yet, I ordered the clear blue connect thingy, I think it'll be a laugh trying to use that for the first time! Oh ill have a look at those next time I order some. Have you tested for this cycle yet? I'm still waiting for my period to bugger off! And do you don't mind me asking how long did it take with DC1? It took me 3 months of TTC, so its already longer than before!

Dinomama21 · 02/02/2021 22:53

@Gretafamily hi! I suppose it doesn't hurt to try, plus all the fun of BD is a bonus! How long did it take TTC DC1? Sorry I'm still trying to get used to these acronyms Confused

Gretafamily · 02/02/2021 23:09

@Dinomama21 I’m rubbish with the acronyms as well :) it took 5 months from going off the pill so not too long but felt long enough! Am thinking of using OPK’s as well as apparently I could in theory ovulate before period (if it ever arrives!!) but as I have no idea when I might see about ordering a load from Amazon. How long have you been TTC this time round?

Dinomama21 · 02/02/2021 23:41

@Gretafamily We tried for a year after I came off the depo injection, my periods where all over the place and I never tracked anything it was sort of "if it happens it happens". We stopped because of the pandemic and this will be TTC cycle 3 of trying again. So fingers crossed for this month! No harm in testing, you never know Smile

Itsjustme20 · 02/02/2021 23:46

Hey!

Thought I’d jump on the thread too 😊

We’ve started ‘sort of’ TTC (no pill etc) and going for the ‘if it happens, it happens’ although I’m awaiting my second COVID vaccine which is hopefully March/April and then it’ll be ‘properly’ TTC our first.

I’m so so excited and find myself looking at baby things all the time Confused

Sending baby dust to you all 😊🌟

Markygirl1995 · 03/02/2021 01:19

@Dinomama21 oh I've heard of them is that the ones with the flashing faces?? I think the easy at home are cheaper but the clear blue give more indication to when you're peaking. You and me both still got a couple days left but I'll then test after I've finished and log it all as my ovulation date changes but seems to be in sync most of the time with my glow app. We were trying on off t years miscarried then conceived straight after so hes my rainbow baby. Xx

JoannaRose · 03/02/2021 04:34

Hello my hopefully soon to be Mummas and already Mummas! DH & I started TTC yesterday for our 1st, I am so excited to start this journey and found this thread! I am 26 and have wanted a baby for years now but it didn’t feel the right circumstances, now though we feel it is time. I hope you all get your BFP soon! Xx

Fraanne · 03/02/2021 07:43

@Markygirl1995 I have been using those ones and they are so easy to use! Plus the app helps with the readings! First time I’ve used these as the clear blue ones were super expensive! Especially with long cycles

Never been so happy to poas so much 🤣

Markygirl1995 · 03/02/2021 07:52

@JoannaRose welcome! Fingers crossed for you

@Fraanne they're much easier. I follow someone in tiktok saw that she was using them and then hpt version too. I need to buy some more today actually. I'm waiting to finish too hopefully another couple of days then the poas commences 🤣 I've been temping it's very up and down 🤦‍♀️🤣

Dinomama21 · 03/02/2021 08:09

@Markygirl1995 yes those ones, I thought I'd start with them, they seemed the simplest to understand with the flashing smiles. Im not sure when I ovulate, always gone on EWCM but never tracked them, I'm quite excited feels like a little science experiment between tracking temps and them haha. I'm so sorry about your MC Flowers

@JoannaRose welcome! So exciting! Grin

Markygirl1995 · 03/02/2021 08:13

@Dinomama21 why dont you get some easy at home to track alongside they arent too much. Just so you can start when you finish af incase you ovulate earlier and use the clearblue when your lh surge is increasing to try find an accurate peak?? I know first time temping so far it seems to be dipping not sure if it's meant to and how correct I'm doing it lol xx

Dinomama21 · 03/02/2021 08:24

@Markygirl1995 I might do actually! And might buy a better thermometer, funnily enough mine had dipped today. Stupid question but do you need a specific thermometer? I have a basic one that only reads to one decimal place Confused

Gretafamily · 03/02/2021 08:49

@Dinomama21 I have been a bit dubious with pandemic as well and probably would have started taking it seriously earlier on if there hadn’t been one.

For everyone talking about temps...I’m so bad at remembering! You’re meant to take them before you do anything even get out of bed aren’t you to know the most accurate reading.

Markygirl1995 · 03/02/2021 09:28

@Dinomama21 I literally use the braun ear thermometer as I wake up right next to my bed. When did you af start?? I wonder if you were the same as me

@Gretafamily that's right first thing in the morning I do sometimes forget and grab my phone first as a natural instinct 🤦‍♀️

Dinomama21 · 03/02/2021 09:40

@Gretafamily @Markygirl1995

I'm on CD6 so AF started on the 29th of Jan. Im putting today as end of AF. I notice when I wake up my temperature is quite high (I love being warm in bed and DP says I'm like a radiator). So I wait half an hour before taking it, not sure if it the right thing to do or not but theres no consistency if i took it first thing. I put the thermometer by the kettle to try not to forget.

Hayesdays · 03/02/2021 14:10

I know @Markygirl1995 I'm trying not to obsess but I'm not very good at it Grin

@Neom87 with baby no1 we got married (after 10 years) then I got a new job so waited 6 months out of curtesy really, they then made me redundant (typical!) and then I got a new job so waited for my probation and boom we got pregnant haha. So start to finish it was a 3 year wait for the 'perfect time' after we got married. This time we decided to go for it over a drunk Xmas conversation - much less talk involved with this one. There really is no perfect time - especially now I'm coming up to 34 too! So yes we're very similar!

@Fraanne @Dinomama21 I've used the cheapy ovulation strips from here, they are the most sensitive ones I could find, more sensitive than Clear Blue so if you're getting mixed results maybe try these? homehealth-uk.com/all-products/one-step-20-x-3-5mm-wide-ovulation-test-strips-20miuml/
I heard some people never get the flashy face, but that might just be because the test isn't sensitive enough maybe.

I've not done the temping thing, but I would say a good thermometer is a worth while investment as you'll need one when your baby comes along :)

JoannaRose · 03/02/2021 22:06

Thank you @Markygirl1995 and @Dinomama21, It might be unlikely but i would so love a BFP in our 1st month of TTC! Although I have heard anything up to a year is average/usual. I so respect those on here that have been trying for a really long time, it must take such patience and perseverance.. I have got a OPK, is it worth investing in and if so is CB the best one? X

Markygirl1995 · 03/02/2021 22:14

@Dinomama21 I'm CD 3 but usually only last 4/5 days anything longer is irregular in my eyes for me. Oh like me my OH doesnt cuddle unless the window is open lol!
@Hayesdays neither hahaha we can obsess together
@joannarose anything is possible!!! My friend got lucky and conceived straight after coming off the pill fingers crossed for you hun x

Dinomama21 · 04/02/2021 08:00

@Hayesdays just ordered a new thermometer, I think I'm becoming slightly obsessed now!

@markygirl1995 no long now then! I'm awful at this, forgotten to do a OPK this morning 🤣 Am I best waiting untill tomorrow or testing later on?

@joannaRose this will be my first time using OPKs and already forgetting to use them in the morning! I think I need a "dummy's guide to TTC" was so laid back with DC1.
