Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

How are you finding it?

@mrssunshinexxx that’s great! Yes I’m sure a baby helps to pass the time! I’m working from home so not many things to make the time pass!

@leigha22 Thanks Leigha, I am feeling a bit more positive now, I think I'm just starting to settle into the routine of testing and have got so used to negative OPKs that they don't have the same impact that they did to begin with :) At the time I stopped the mini pill I was having breakthrough spotting, and the day after I stopped the pill it became a bit heavier, almost like a light period that lasted for a week. I don't know whether to count that as a period or just a breakthrough bleed. I've been estimating what cycle day I am on as if it was a period, but that might be completely inaccurate. Are you still waiting for your period?

I'm on day 7 of flashing smiley on clearblue opk :( But I am also doing cheapie OKPs and for the first time today the test line is starting to get a bit darker! Still a fair bit lighter than the control line so still a negative, but it is the darkest I have seen it so far so fingers crossed that is the beginning of an LH surge

@pbdr that’s good to hear! I see so many people say just relax but it’s so hard when you want something so much isn’t it. Funny you say that, I’ve done the same too. Also observing my CM which seems to be in line with my suspected ovulation date. Might all be coincidental? But I’ll take it for now🤣 if it’s all correct I should get my period around 2nd feb so we shall see. Really hope you get your surge soon.❤️

I've been waiting all my life for the time to be right to start a family, and now that the time is right it is so hard to have to keep waiting with no idea when (or even if) it will happen! I've just accepted that relaxing an enjoying TTC is not going to be realistic for me, I would settle with managing not to completely crack up

When is your suspected ovulation date? You're not using OPKs at the moment are you?
And thank you, I hope so too :) it would be nice to at least know that our bodies are ovulating after coming off the mini pill, even if there is no BFP this month.

@pbdr I’m exactly the same! I didn’t realise how pregnant I wanted to actually be. I was like “yeah see how things go” but I’m so eager to just be pregnant. I can’t wait 😆

Mine is tomorrow but I’ve had some pains today so I think it might of been today? Unless it is tomorrow and my body is just preparing! No, no OPKs for me yet but based on my CM it would be in line with my suspected ovulation date. When’s yours? Yes actually I’m the same, whilst I’d love a BFP even a period would be ok so I know my body is back on track ready for the next cycle! Xx

Hey guys! How is everyone? Af is due tomorrow and have cramps similar to what I normally get so feel like she might be on her way 😕 but at least that’ll mean I can start again :)

@Grace185 fingers crossed for you, will you test tomorrow?
I had the same feeling that af was on her way, literally felt exactly the same as I normally do. But decided on af day morning I would test just to put my mind a rest rather than wait all day for her to arrive
Was not expecting a bfp but that's what I got Tuesday morning 😱 still in shock!

@BettyRem hey :) I’m going to wait until next week as my cycle could be off due to only have one cycle from coming off the pill. So have tests arriving Monday-Wednesday :) I have had a pain in my left pelvis for a while now and kinda want to just do if it anything I should actually be worrying about rather than wait for af so might cave this weekend

@Grace185 morning Grace! Hopefully your pains are a false alarm but liking your positivity if they aren’t. Weird you say about the left pelvic pain, I’ve been having the same - last night mainly. Nothing here for me yet. Keep us updated. X

@leigha22 yeah I have had it for nearly a week now, it’s not really painful, I’m more just aware of some pulling down there. Today it’s more of an ache but I have also started running so might just be a muscle pill! Haha we’ll see!

Hoping your pains are a false alarm too @Grace185 - today my boobs are super achey, definitely like pre AF, alongside some nausea since last night (but didn't have much sleep). AF due 26th based on my usual cycles, and I wouldn't usually get a hey boobs until a few days before, but maybe I'm running early this month :(

So I’m incredibly tempted to just go and get some cheapies today and test, I’m done with the waiting haha and even if it’s negative that’s ok as it’s only my first month and then if af still doesn’t come I can test again with my good ones that are in the post for next week. I don’t know weather to just wait for af!!

@Grace185 I keep swinging between wanting to try one and holding out... I'd said before I'd test Tuesday on the day I think AF is due but might go Sunday if I'm still feeling grim and want some info... it doesn't change the reality either way does it it's just more info.

@mrssunshinexxx I caved before I read that :( but it was quite comical as I completely messed it up and peed all over it (lovely) with mid day wee. So no idea what to think. It was a cheap one and the ink bled everywhere. No line at all but that’s ok, I kinda just needed to do it today to see. It’s made me realise I’m ok with a negative as we can just try again. I’ll just wait for af and think about retesting next week if needed. I’m actually much calmer after it even with no line!

@mrssunshinexxx my CB tests arrived today and luckily not before a caved and wasted one! I’m def not using these until next week, I might get OH to hide them haha. I think Tuesday is a good bet! I just want af to come if she is coming now! My abdo area feels so heavy today, not like normal af pains, for me that’s more like a really low down stomach ache normally the day before and the first day so unless it’s changed I’m not sure what’s going on. How are you feeling about it all?

Did yo get my private msg back ? @Grace185 I feel like I should know if I'm pregnant as I've been pregnant before but I have no clue and just over analysing everything as if it's the first time 😀😀 I will not test until tuesday ... I'll try very hard not to anyway that will then be 30 days since last period and if I am pregnant it will show x

Hey everyone! I made my first post then disappeared, sorry, work has been manic this week. I was going to try and catch up but so many posts!!

Started testing with clear blue ovulation tests this week. My cycles are 33-35 days long so they suggest starting on Tuesday, so I did. I was expecting to be going into my fertile window today so was expecting a flashy smiley but yet another static circle how annoying. I track my cycles with my Fitbit and it's usually pretty accurate. It predicts ovulations on Tuesday so will just keep testing. Not sure if we should just be DTD every day or every other day or what!!

Hey @lucea87 I don’t use opks at the moment. I’d just dtd every 2-3 days around the middle of your cycle. That’s what I’ll do next month :)

I'll be testing 8th feb which is the day before my bday. AF is due on my bday...not sure how I feel about this.....!!!

@lucea87 every other day is my advise I've read a lot about sperm quality being lower if you dtd every day
