Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

How are you finding it?

@PinkPantherr congratulations!! That is lovely news :D

I've just had my first flashing smiley face with the clearblue digital opk this morning! DTD last night (yesterday was a low fertility day so was just for fun) but will be waiting impatiently for DH to finish work today Wink

PinkPantherr · 14/01/2021 11:00

@MMG21 no contraception we were using the pull out method for the last 5 years 🙈

MMG21 · 14/01/2021 11:04

@PinkPantherr omg haha no wonder it took so quick, surprising its taken 5 years the pull out method isn't a concrete form of birth control 😆😆😆 ive always been to scared to do that because i know a few who have still gotten pregnant from it haha congratulations 👏

Glenpatrick · 14/01/2021 11:31

@PinkPantherr great news! Congrats 🥳

Dixie1488 · 14/01/2021 12:04

Big congratulations @PinkPantherr. How amazing! Exciting times ahead 😊

BettyRem · 14/01/2021 14:35

Hey everyone can I join too
Congrats @PinkPantherr!! So lovely seeing bfps did you have any symptoms? Sorry if you've already said it, I've had a quick scan through the thread but may have missed it
We've used the withdrawal method too for about 2 years without any accidents but hoping that's not a bad sign 🤞🏼
In my 1st 2ww af due on 19th!! Anyone tests soon?

Grace185 · 14/01/2021 14:55

@PinkPantherr CONGRATULATIONS!! Only just seen this. That’s great news!! When was af due for you? What dpo were you? Sorry I know you’ve said it before but it’s hard scrolling back through :)

You give us all hope :) xx

@PinkPantherr congratulations! Did you find that you had any symptoms? I'm currently 7DPO and trying to work out if I have symptoms or I'm feeling nerves as the days go on!

PinkPantherr · 14/01/2021 17:55

Thanks @BettyRem @Grace185 @penguin7 yes I did wander if no accidents using the pull out method for 5 years was a bad sign but apparently not!

I'm 12DPO today and af was due yesterday no symptoms except a dull stomach ache today but I think that might be nerves/ excitement! Also very tiered but I am always tiered!

BettyRem · 14/01/2021 18:14

@penguin7 im the same, don't think I feel any different just have a nervous tummy when I think too much about it 😆 driving myself crazy
Maybe it's a good sign for us if @PinkPantherr hasn't had any symptoms, but I suppose we're all different

Grace185 · 14/01/2021 19:02

@PinkPantherr that’s quite reassuring you didn’t have symptoms as I think people can get obsessed (ie me haha) looking for them!

How are you feeling about it all know? Do you think you’ll tell anyone?

OP posts:
PinkPantherr · 14/01/2021 21:20

@Grace185 yes Im hoping this no symptoms means I might get away with no morning sickness or anything but maybe that's just wishful thinking!

I'm feeling really excited and nervous DP is really excited too which is great! Depending on whether he can come to the 12 week scan we might book a private one for 10 weeks and tell everyone then but that seems so far away!

Grace185 · 14/01/2021 21:32

@PinkPantherr awww that’s so nice. If you can survive ttw those few more weeks will fly by as you can get all exited now. Really happy for you :)

@PinkPantherr I thought all maternity services had gone back to normal ? X

PinkPantherr · 15/01/2021 07:03

@mrssunshinexxx I actually have no idea I assumed with the new lockdown it would be tighter again? I only went and registered with a new doctor since moving yesterday so need to wait a few days and then I will call them and see what's what xx

marcella64 · 15/01/2021 07:26

A petition was signed by millions for women to have there partner/family member present at all antenatal appointments. Guidance was changed, you can have other half go to all scans and be there even before active labour.

MMG21 · 15/01/2021 09:03

@marcella64 I think the guidance has changed yet again i was looking into private scans (I used them last time for a 4d scan) because I thought i wouldn't want to do a scan on my own via NHS and even they are now saying no partners at scans! So no point in paying really if its same rules. Its disgusting. This was on 4th Jan they put on their site and no 4d scans allowed because its not medically necessary 😤 (im not pregnant just thought if I do id want my husband there) xx

Glenpatrick · 15/01/2021 09:22

@PinkPantherr we did a private scan too before we told everyone. Since it was our first we just wanted to be extra sure we were pregnant 😂😂 we went at 6 weeks (although baby was measuring a little smaller) and they ended up having to do an internal scan as the normal tummy one wouldn’t work. If you can book in (not sure with restrictions where you are) for one I would def recommend if it was nice to know that there was a baby in there!

mrssunshinexxx · 15/01/2021 11:09

@PinkPantherr my hospital pretty much back to normal with maternity services and rightly so they should never of been taken away x

PinkPantherr · 15/01/2021 13:54

Thanks everyone I've just checked on my hospital website and it says partners are allowed for scans which is great

How is everyone doing today? :) I'm on day 3 of flashing smiley with clearblue digital opk. Have been doing the cheapie OPKs alongside and still not a hint of LH. Really hoping I get an LH surge this month, I'm not sure after coming off contraception so recently if this cycle will behave normally.

@PinkPantherr that is good news that your DP can come along to the scan appointments. Would be a big thing to miss out on. Exciting times :D

mrssunshinexxx · 16/01/2021 09:34

I got 5 days of flashing @pbdr then gave up as I think I felt ovulation on the evening of day 3. We will see if AF comes or not 🤞

Grace185 · 17/01/2021 08:02

Hey guys. How’s everyone doing?

I’ve had a weird thing happen. I’ve been having sharp pains to the left of my pelvis area for a few days but I have recently started jogging so put it down to that. Last night after I went to the loo at about 23:30 I had bright red blood (not loads but a good amount) mixed with thick cm. Like brighter than I’ve ever seen at the start of my period. So I put a pad in and went back to bed and the cramps got worse but not exactly like period pains. I’m normally a 30-35d cycle girl (yesterday was 25d) but have only had one full cycle off the pill which was 30d so may have changed now.

Only thing is this morning I’ve had pains across my pelvis but I’m completely dried up and no blood at all. I’ve heard about implantation bleeding but that’s meant to be brown etc. I have no idea really. I think I’m going to wait and see if af turns up as I’m not due until Friday and then maybe test then!

Morning @Grace185 sounds like an implantation bleed to me!! I never had implantation bleed or pain but your description seems plausible. Are you 9dpo? I'm 8dpo today, I've been very calm about my tww this month... last month it was all I thought about. Xxx
