Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

How are you finding it?

Hi ladies! So af arrived for me on the 28th jan, 1 day late so but disappointing but sure it is what it is. This month however started to use the clear blue ovulation sticks with the flashy smiley face and I’m stumped 🤷🏼‍♀️ Now on day 16 of my cycle with 10 days of flashy smiley face but no solid?!!! I didn’t use these ones last time but thought I don’t have the luxury of messing around in the mornings with is it/is it not a line but now more confused than ever 😂 will keep using them anyway and see what happens 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Glenpatrick · 12/02/2021 15:01

How’s everyone else doing?

mrssunshinexxx · 12/02/2021 16:10

Hey @Glenpatrick I'm currently doing a study for clear blue ovulation sticks if you get 9 days in a row of flashy it is highly unlikely you will ovulate and you are meant to stop and try again next month. X

mrssunshinexxx · 12/02/2021 16:13

@Glenpatrick blank face for me wed but I think everyone gets a blank first day while it gathers data , I got a flashy yesterday and today really hoping I get a static but no period since having my baby so not getting hopes up

Upupupintheair · 12/02/2021 16:34

Hey can i join? I’m 28 and DH is 33. I literally had my copper coil taken out yesterday and we of course DTD, it was funny we felt like naughty school kids, you spend your whole life worrying about contraception it was a bit strange suddenly without! Did anyone else feel like that first time?

I’m towards the end of my fertility window now which I track with my Ovia App but I know you can get pregnant straight away with the copper coil - so who knows!

Fingers crossed for all those BFP for you all x

Glenpatrick · 12/02/2021 18:42

@mrssunshinexxx yep that’s what I’ve been reading online, I don’t know if I should just give up or keep going? Seems like a waste but don’t want to risk it & miss it.

Hi @Upupupintheair - know exactly what you mean!

mrssunshinexxx · 12/02/2021 19:37

Hi @Glenpatrick I think sadly it's unlikely you will ovulate now BUT if you don't mind wasting them then carry on ? Then atleast you won't be wondering if you missed it etc x

@Upupupintheair welcome x

lucea87 · 12/02/2021 21:24

@Glenpatrick I had 9 days solid of flashing with no solid smiley. My 9th day was 2nd feb and I still have no AF. I think I ovulated later than that, we didn't DTD enough round the 9 days that I could be pregnant from those 9 days of flashing. I've been cramping for 2 days now. I'm giving it until start of next week then testing. I've invested in cheapies as well as CB for next month for comparisons xx

Glenpatrick · 12/02/2021 22:03

It’s bizarre! I think I’ll keep going and just see what happens & if no solid smiley then make a plan I guess. Might have to start acupuncture again (worked for my 1st) and see if that kick starts something!? Be interesting to see your comparisons

I'll keep you posted. Something was amiss this cycle as I'm now CD38 and nothing...!!
mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 08:06

@Glenpatrick another flashy for me but only day 3 but I really aren't confident I'll get a static as my period hasn't returned. Are you just going to carry on x

everysunrise · 13/02/2021 08:38

Hey ladies! I just thought I would introduce myself, I'm 28 and in my first month TTC.

AF arrived this morning and can't help feeling disappointed. With this being my first month, I hope it gets a bit easier each time!!!

My cycle was a bit shorter (24 days) the last two months, and today means this cycle was 27 days. We DTD literally 8 days in a row during my ovulation window.

Anyone got any tips for staying positive during your journey?! Like many others of you have said, it becomes an obsession and quite literally takes over my life!! I'm in month one lol!!!

Also any tips on how often to DTD? I felt alot of pressure during my ovulation week and didn't want to miss an opportunity- I know it sounds silly. I'm just so desperate for it. Do you guys still do it during the TWW?

xx

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 08:52

@everysunrise my advise is don't dtd every day it lowers the sperm quality 'apparently' I have read that a lot especially on this forum but I just do every other day.
Sad to say it gets harder each month the disappointment but fingers crossed it happens for you very quickly
Stress is the worse thing for the body so I know easier said than done but try to relax, plenty of sleep, fresh air, healthy food and self care

everysunrise · 13/02/2021 08:57

@mrssunshinexxx I did read this somewhere too but then I read that there was no evidence to support it. I think every other day is a lot more workable anyway as it was a very stressful week!
Totally agree, it's just so hard to relax :-( I suffer with anxiety alot so it definitely doesn't help!!

So do you DTD every other day even in your TWW?

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 08:59

@everysunrise no just through my fertile period I use opks and take note fo my CM so I know when it's over usually. My periods haven't come bac since having my baby though and I came off contraception in dec and nothing since

everysunrise · 13/02/2021 09:08

@mrssunshinexxx ok thanks! Still trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing Grin
Oh I hope it comes soon! Have the opks come back positive at all?

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 09:16

@everysunrise are you using opks ?
Yes it's showing high fertility at the mo but not peak

everysunrise · 13/02/2021 09:22

@mrssunshinexxx
That's promising!
I have got the clear blue ones but to be honest I got them a bit too late this month so planning to use them properly from now. At the minute I use the Flo app to track cycles/ovulation

Grace185 · 13/02/2021 09:44

Hey @everysunrise I’m not tracking anything at the moment and have just dtd every other day since stopping af, I’m 5dpo according to the apps but we’ll just keep dtd until af arrives. It’s mostly every other day but sometimes every day but only if we wanted it so the pressure was off a bit this month :) we’re cycle 2

Glenpatrick · 13/02/2021 10:50

@mrssunshinexxx same here! I think I’m going to keep using them just to see what happens, when we were ttc1 the second or third cycle of it I had a random super long cycle of 43 days so I’m wondering if I’m heading the same way on that now if I’ve not ovulated yet 🤷🏼‍♀️

pixiedust21 · 13/02/2021 11:51

Absolutely sick of my life. Been out to buy folic acid tablets and not going to use the pregnacare style ones again. It must be those that have messed up my cycle.
Now on day 42
Of cycle, keep thinking AF is coming as I have sore boobs etc. All previous preg tests have been negative so don't have the heart to test again. Just stuck in limbo until af comes and can then track my cycle again :(

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 12:52

@Glenpatrick sorry what are you saying same here regarding?

Ah sorry @pixiedust21 it is really soul destroying when you want something so much

Upupupintheair · 13/02/2021 13:09

Start of my first two week wait! Good luck everyone 🤞

@pixiedust21 I’d heard about that with pregnacare, so have just gone with vit D and folic acid at separate tablets... hope AF comes soon. X

pixiedust21 · 13/02/2021 13:21

@mrssunshinexxx @Upupupintheair thank you - I'm less bothered about not being pregnant (as it was only month 1 of really trying) just more annoyed my cycle is now all out of whack. It was the boots conception tablets I was taking, not the actual pregnacare ones, but I'm assuming it has the same side effect.

Definitely just sticking to folic acid and vitamin d. Once I get back to actually being able to track my cycle Hmm just very frustrated today but thanks ladies x

everysunrise · 13/02/2021 14:05

@Grace185 Hi Grace! I salute you for DTD every other day! I think after AF I will do the same as I want to plan a bit better. We kind of just went for it this month but I've been learning alot in the last few days.
Did you find the first month difficult when AF arrived?
