Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

How are you finding it?

5 days flashing now. CD23. The good news is I won't be testing in my birthday or have AF on my birthday at least now

@mrssunshinexxx I'm not sure to be honest as this is the first time I've used the sticks, I guess once or twice I have as I've had late periods before, be interesting to see when I do actually ovulate and when I do actually come on, or test positive (fingers crossed!!!)

Still no period here no idea what's going on I'm annoyed ! I've bought 30'cheap ovulation strips to use daily from tomorrow to see if I'm ovulating with no period which obviously isn't impossible when breastfeeding x

How odd. Keep us posted. Random cycles all round. Flashy again here today...was expecting 2 flashy days and now on 5...

Oh wow! That's good.

I just don't want loads of flashy then no static, that's my fear...first i was worried I would get no flashys and now it's that I won't get a static. Argh. I need to relax! I am so paranoid because of my age, even though 34 is 'young' but not in baby terms apparently. Yeah, I need to relax.

I know what you mean, by the 8th consecutive flashing smiley I had almost given up hope, but I was doing cheapie OPKs too and noticed on my cheapie that evening that the lines were very dark, so did another clearblue test and finally got my solid smiley! :)

I've been looking at the lines too and they've been getting darker so hopefully tomorrow I will get my solid one! I already have a feeling I'm out this time though

I feel really down why my period hasn't come I'm sure it will be to do with breast feeding and not being on contraception now . Just annoying because if it is that there is nothing I can do it would take months or upto a year or until she is weaned which I'm hoping to feed her until she's 2! I have read that when they start having a lot less milk that can help abs she is on solids now and only having one feed overnight
I guess as disappointing as it is when AF shows up atleast you know you're on to the next cycle

Can offer any advice but just a handhold on this one. See what the cheapies say as well xx

Day 6 flashing for me. The line wasn't as dark today but don't know if that's relevant on the CB sticks.

@mrssunshinexxx oh no, I’m sorry you’re feeling down. Just concentrate on you lovely LO and I bet things will right themselves soon :)

@mrssunshinexxx I really hope the breastfeeding doesn't end up being too much of a barrier to getting pregnant for you. Plenty of people get pregnant while breastfeeding, particularly when their wee one is on solids too, but it certainly can cause periods to be much more unpredictable.

@lucea87 I never found that the lines on the Clearblue test strips ever got particularly dark, even when I got my peak on the cheapies and got my solid smiley on cb. Are you doing cheapies at all?

Think I've decided I have actually already ovulated and my surge has been too weak to detect. Cheapies on order as well as more CB sticks. Bet AF shows on my BDay in which case I'll be testing again 13th March ish for next time.....!

Don't give up just yet @lucea87, I'd keep testing every morning unless you reach the point that you've had 10 days of flashing smilies (clearblue suggest stopping at that point). You're only on day 6 of flashing smilies, it took until day 8 for me to get a peak.

It'll be a good job if I haven't ovulated yet as I just keep falling asleep I am so knackered this week. Haven't been sleeping well so as soon my head hits the pillow I'm gone. Poor OH!! Just about to drag myself up to go and test. Also have £100 worth of conception products in my Amazon basket now too lol

• another CB set
• cheapie OPKs
• fertiliy cup to keep those swimmers in!
• more vitamins
• sample cups to try and test that way instead

I'm determined!

@lucea87 Sounds like you are all set! What did your cb test say today?

Hey guys! I'm TTC #2 my little boy is 5. I'm 27, and came off the pill in Dec. Had withdrawal bleed and first proper cycle, always bang on 28 days. Never used OPKs but we both live busier lifestyles than we did when TTC first time round. So need to be accurate!! I had my first positive OPK today cycle day 16, does this seem weirdly late? Do you think I should baby dance for the next few days to be safe? Lovely reading all your journeys. We've got this x

@busyfizzy Definitely looks like an LH surge, CD16 is not particularly late. You will most likely ovulate tomorrow so I'd try to BD today and tomorrow at least.

Hi everyone could I join please? First month of the pill and I had my (very very painful!) withdrawal bleed on Tuesday-Friday and I thought I'd start tracking my ovulation to see if it happens this month. Used the CB one this morning. According to my Flo app I'm supposed to be ovulating tomorrow but I don't think that's correct as I technically haven't had a period yet. Find it all Abit confusing!
