Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

Hey! Similar situation over here... I came off the pill in November after 8 years being on it. Had a withdrawal bleed about 4 days later and then I had no period at all in December and it came beginning of jan! I also got all frustrated and stressed as I kept taking tests in December as I thought I was pregnant 🤣
This is my first month since November that I have actually ovulated

Tryingforbaby91 · 20/01/2021 10:26

@emilyylouise
I only had a few random days of spotting, I don't know if that counts for anything 😅 How do you know that you've only ovulated this month since you came off the pill?

emilyylouise · 20/01/2021 10:28

@Tryingforbaby91

I have been using the digital ovulation test from clearblue!
On Monday I got my first flashing smiley which means high fertility and last night I got the static smiley which means I got my peak 😀

Tryingforbaby91 · 20/01/2021 10:47

@emilyylouise
Ah right. Is that expensive? Did you try it last month as well?
That's great! I am happy for you! Hopefully, you'll have good news in a couple of weeks :) rooting for you!

emilyylouise · 20/01/2021 10:51

@Tryingforbaby91

It was £30 on amazon... but I used the cheaper non digital ones last month and couldn't work them out so the digital is easier as it either shows a O which is low or the smileys are high so much easier to tell! 😊

Grace185 · 20/01/2021 10:51

@Tryingforbaby91 hey! I came off the pill in November too but was only on it about 8 months. No idea if I’m ovulating as I’m not using opks (yet) but I tried to track my cm and I think I did as I had a proper af on 23 Dec so if af doesn’t arrive will test next Thursday / Friday

BubblesNSnuggles · 20/01/2021 10:55

Morning all! Just been catching up. Congratulations on the BFPs; so excited for you both! Fingers crossed for smooth pregnancies 😆
@emilyylouise I’ve also just got my peak so looks like we will be in the tww together.
As you can tell from the photo, this month isn’t a ‘chill’ month 😂

Tryingforbaby91 · 20/01/2021 11:17

@emilyylouise
I will have a look at them, thanks! I will try and track my cm too.
@Grace185 @BubblesNSnuggles I am rooting for you guys too! Hope you all have great news Grin

emilyylouise · 20/01/2021 11:19

@BubblesNSnuggles

Awesome!!! I'm so hoping this is my month ❤️🙈

Grace185 · 20/01/2021 11:21

@BubblesNSnuggles wow that’s impressive! Have fun tonight!!

@Tryingforbaby91 thanks. I have ordered tests to arrive next week to stop me going out and spending more money to test this weekend! When the frers arrive (between Monday and wed) I think I’ll test the next morning so I don’t know the actual day yet. Af will probs come this weekend anyway 🙄

PoloRolo · 20/01/2021 12:19

Hi 👋🏼

Have been reading threads obsessively over the last week, and have decided I need to just join in - pretty please?

This is our first month TTC for baby number 1.. we were originally ‘keeping it chilled’ (does that even really exist?) coming off the pill and trying around Easter time, but alas I come off the pill end of Dec and have been obsessed ever since! Had a withdrawal bleed first week of Jan but no clue as to my normal cycle at all! Have been using CB digital tests.. have seen the frustrating flashing smiley the past 5 days and unsure if I’ll even ovulate this month. Secretly just wishing AF to turn up so that I have some idea and can start a fresh! Sad SOS please!

emilyylouise · 20/01/2021 12:47

@PoloRolo

It took 2 months for me to start ovulating again after coming off the pill... I know your pain as I am also super impatient 🙈

PoloRolo · 20/01/2021 13:02

@emilyylouise ah really, okay what OPKs do you use, I feel like maybe I should just get some cheaper ones or it will cost a fortune! it’s so hard isn’t it! I thought I’d be so much more relaxed about it as I always said I didn’t want to put pressure on it.. but that’s gone out the window! 😂

Same. I’m a woman obsessed 😂

emilyylouise · 20/01/2021 13:32

@PoloRolo

I used cheap ones to start with but found them way too confusing so this month I have been using the clearblue digital ones I got them from Amazon for £30 but found they work much better for me 😊

PoloRolo · 20/01/2021 13:59

@emilyylouise yes that’s what I thought.. if I used the cheap ones I would probably end up just convincing myself the lines matched 😂 gosh this is going to be an expensive and emotional rollercoaster 🤦🏼‍♀️

Welcome to the new joiners to the group!

I came off the pill in September/October and I think it can take a while for your body to figure out what's going on. Cycles have been a bit random - the longest was 39 days but they're getting shorter each time (31 days this time around)!

I've had a practice month TTC this month and also used the CB digital OPKs. I've got some more for cycle 2 and then I'll see how it goes. I might go to the strips then as I'll have a better idea of what my body is doing!

Hopefully we'll see some more BFPs before the month is out!

FieldView · 20/01/2021 16:56

PS. I think a few of us are using various apps to track our cycles alongside OPKs. Might be useful if you haven't got one? I'm using Flo, but I think some of the others are using Clue and maybe Ovia...

LauraDanxx · 20/01/2021 17:27

Hi,

Late joining this thread but have been following.

Had laparoscopic surgery in July 2018 for endometriosis. Slight endo was removed. August 2020, came off the pill after being on it for 12 years. Withdrawal bleed early September. Started TTC after period in September. Cycles have ranged from 35 to this month 28. Have been using clear blue last 2 months, 5 days flashing face and then static. Currently 8dpo and have been feeling nausea for last few days, strange feeling in lower pelivic area and tender breast. Wondering when to test?

Kittysw · 20/01/2021 21:54

Welcome to all of the new joiners. :) I have missed a fair bit it seams today.

Had a crazy busy day sorting stuff as we hopefully have the plumbers and builders in next wee and the week after to make a start on the new tank and utility room.

Hope everyone is doing well and still staying positive. I'm amazed at how my mindset has changed coming out of the TWW window and just having a fresh cycle ahead. I'm sure come next TWW I will be back to symptom spotting again.

Grace185 · 20/01/2021 22:07

@Kittysw oh nice work sorting it all out ready for them! What cycle day are you on now?

Hey @LauraDanxx when’s your af due? I’m due anytime between Friday and Wednesday but trying to not test until after Wednesday. It’s up to you when you test, I just know I couldn’t cope with a faint line so would rather just and see if af comes but I have seen some get positives from 10/12dpo. When are you thinking? I haven’t had sore boobs at all but mild stabbing cramps not like af and was spotting a few days ago

LauraDanxx · 20/01/2021 22:20

@Grace185 Anytime between Sunday and Thursday. I’m going to try and wait. I’ve had no spotting just this strange pain in my pelvis. X

Grace185 · 20/01/2021 22:23

@LauraDanxx yeah I’ve never had this kind of pelvic pain too, it’s mainly on my left but I have stared running too so might just be a strain haha. We’ll be testing around the same time if af does turn up :)

LauraDanxx · 20/01/2021 22:29

@Grace185 Fingers crossed x

Grace185 · 20/01/2021 22:31

@LauraDanxx def!!
