Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

Yeah I found it's a good idea to dtd in ther fertile window every other day, that's what I did for a BFP.

Told DH and he was speechless haha bless him

glassacorn · 19/01/2021 16:02

Ahhh, I missed a few days and logged back in to TWO BFPs!!! 🤩

Congratulations @PineappleSun and @RadDarwazeh!

What an excellent first month for the group! 🎉 🥳

Welcome to all newcomers - you're in fine company! 🥰

glassacorn · 19/01/2021 16:07

I've had my nose stuck in another book (Origins by Annie Murphy Paul) which is fascinating AND references some studies that pregnant women who regularly eat high quality chocolate during pregnancy are less likely to suffer from pre-eclampsia and more likely to have happy babies - so for all the ladies trying, it can't hurt to start early! 😂🍫

@glassacorn with my first pregnancy I ate SO much chocolate. It was my main craving. There's really no surprise she was a chunky baby 😂
I was marked at medium risk of pre-eclampsia due to family histories - so maybe this helped it!

shannonl26 · 19/01/2021 17:31

@Grace185 keep the faith! (I say whilst feeling the EXACT SAME WAY) 😂 I’ve got some that came with my box of opks, I think they’re supposed to be sensitive ones but who knows. Just the basic dip in ya piss stick type 😂

I think I’m actually going crazy, felt the height of my cervix earlier cause I saw on another thread that’s what they do each month 😂 I hope somebody else has done this too 😂

shannonl26 · 19/01/2021 17:32

@glassacorn I’m glad you’ve said that, I’ve just opened a galaxy ‘share bar’ with ZERO intention of sharing 😭😂

Kittysw · 19/01/2021 17:50

@Grace185 Good luck also for Friday then :)

My cycles are 25/27 days long. Mostly 27 though and I have ovulated CD 11/13 so have been DTD every other day from around CD 7 to CD17. Thought that would cover my bases anyway. Not that this has helped yet of course.

In other news this AF is the WORST I have ever had. Since coming off the pill I only have short but heavy periods yet when I was on the pill they were a lot longer but never this heavy. Has anyone else found this?? The PMS isn't really any different that I had noticed up to now anyway.

Hallie91 · 19/01/2021 17:59

@Kittysw i haven't used anything other than PO Method and condoms for over 2 years but I did used to have extremely light AF on contraceptive. When I came off I would literally have the heaviest for 2 days and then nothing.
It took about 6 months before they came standard again.

Rmd123 · 19/01/2021 18:06

@RadDarwazeh huge congrats ❤️

Grace185 · 19/01/2021 18:08

@shannonl26 @Kittysw thanks guys. I’ve ordered some clear blues and frers to arrive next Monday- Wednesday. I think once they turn up I might just do one of af isn’t here as I’ll be late then. Not sure if I can wait until next Friday haha. But I ordered them so I’m not tempted to go buy some at the weekend!

shannonl26 · 19/01/2021 18:59

@Kittysw yes when I was on the pill I’d have 5/6 days of fairly light. Since coming off the pill (and many years ago before I started taking it) they would be unbearably heavy/painful & lasting anything upto 10 days. I feel your pain.

@Grace185 exciting times ahead. I’ve done what many ladies do & convinced myself this month isn’t the month, still got waves of nausea & sore boobs, but I forget they’re sore until I knock them or have an itch. If that makes sense 😂😂😂 it’s not a ‘constant’ soreness.

Kittysw · 19/01/2021 19:15

Looks like this is the new normal with AF then. Though it's heavy I'm pleased they have all been shorter which is soo much better :) I have slept loads today. Don't know why.

I'm so excited to see the outcome for everyone testing soon. I'm occupying myself with sanding down our banister and do I regret even starting it! I feel like I will be here until this time next year still sanding the bloody thing!

Hallie91 · 19/01/2021 19:25

@Kittysw I'm excited for everyone too. When is everyone due or testing!

I'm due 5th/6th but I'm going to try my best to wait until then to test rather than do it early 🙈 not sure I'll stick to that though!

shannonl26 · 19/01/2021 19:39

@Kittysw oh god that’s got to be up there with one of the worst things ever 😂

@Hallie91 going by my Flo app & positive opk AF is due 21/23, but my normal AF date would be 28th so I am going to try my best to hold off testing until then 😂 but I’m getting more impatient as the days go on so I’ll probably cave & rest over the weekend.

Grace185 · 19/01/2021 19:43

@shannonl26 I haven’t got the boob thing at all but don’t ever have it at any point. I do have a mild stretch/stabbing pain on my left abdo area but I have also started running so that could be it. The main thing was the spotting I had a few days ago and mild cramps that aren’t like my period cramps. We’ll see :)

Grace185 · 19/01/2021 19:45

@Kittysw haha I’m the same with the diy! It passes the time but I’m currently painting door frames which is not fun!!

Kittysw · 19/01/2021 19:52

@Grace185 Yeh I think painting any wood is just the worst. I always see the finished image in my head and just go for it. I would much rather pay someone to do it for me. Though it's kind of a waste of money given I am furloughed so should just do it myself.

Grace185 · 19/01/2021 19:55

@Kittysw I’m onto the banisters and a window sill soon 🙄 I’m still full time but can imagine it’s good for furlough!

emilyylouise · 19/01/2021 21:09

I got my peak everyone 😀

Grace185 · 19/01/2021 22:36

@emilyylouise yay! Fingers crossed for you!!

EllisRoses · 20/01/2021 07:57

Congrats to those who have tested positive and good luck to those on TWW!

I have PCOS and after having my son 18 months ago I had since stopping breastfeeding at 12 months become regular for the first time in my life! I had a normal heavy period and cramps on xmas day and then 3 days ago started really lightly bleeding with no cramps. Not sure whether to class it as a period or not but I'm temping and my LH tests arrive today so hopefully I don't have to write this month off

Grace185 · 20/01/2021 08:33

@EllisRoses hey. I had spotting too a few days ago and my last af was 23 Dec. I’m not counting it as af, it was nothing compared! I’m due Friday so we’ll see how that goes! What’s yours due?

EllisRoses · 20/01/2021 09:22

I say it's been regular I just mean it's been between every 4-7 weeks ish. It still varies but I used to only have about 2 periods a year before I had my son. I've not had spotting before, I'm still having to wear a pad so it could be a really light period but just strange that there's no cramps. It'll be so typical if I go back to being all over the place just as we want to ttc again!!

Hoping your AF doesn't turn up!

Grace185 · 20/01/2021 09:42

@EllisRoses ah mine wasn’t enough to even go onto a liner so yeah that might be a light period. I’d take a test to check, do you know when you ov?

Tryingforbaby91 · 20/01/2021 10:14

Can I join?
Me and my OH started trying last month. I came off the mini pill at the beginning of December but still no period, and the few pregnancy tests I've taken were all negative. I've been on the pill for more than 10 years. It's been frustrating not knowing anything about my cycles Sad
