First month TTC

Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

My advice is just enjoy yourself and not to think too much about it. Me and DH conceived 3 times in first month. It's supposed be fun and stress free.

Af is due tomorrow and I’m def getting my normal cramps so feel like she might make an appearance soon 😕 how’s everyone else?

@FieldView thank you! Yes I think I’ll stop with the OPKs this month as it’s just frustrating without knowing my cycle length yet. I’ve downloaded Ovia so keeping things tracked on there, just now hoping AF comes in the next two weeks so I can get properly started!

Morning everyone and welcome to new people!

I'm currently in the best part of this whole thing - highly fertile according to OPKs and other bodily signs so lots of DTD as I await ovulation :)

Slightly nervous about how I'll be in the TWW - first one for me, but I've at least gort a very busy week at work so hopefully that will keep my mind off it! I think that after the novelty and excitement of the first month, I'll be a bit mroe relaxed about it, I think I'm just overly excited this month but have actually really enjoyed getting to know my cycle better and it feels quite cool to be having completely natural periods and hormone changes after having spent the last 10 years on the pill - I couldn't remember anything about my periods before that really!

Good luck anyone in TWW/testing in next few days - fingers crossed for some more BFPs!

@Grace185 AF arrived today so that’s me out this month! Not feeling great but I’m splashing out on the CB ovulation kit for next month so here’s hoping I have better luck 😂🤞🏼

I just got my AF today too, after freaking out yesterday about how long it was taking for it to show up! Sorry girls! Now I can finally start tracking my cycles properly. At least now I know things are moving forward. Is it weird that I'm glad that my AF came? 😅 Going to get some ovulation kit for next month too! 😊

@Tryingforbaby91 oh no! How late were you again? Not weird at all, means you can have a fresh start :)

My cramps have gone to more sharp again. And going both sides 🙄 no idea what’s going on. I am tempted to just drive and get a cheap test as at least it would say one way of the other. But I’m not due until tomorrow so might just be a painful af!

Ahh @Eaststreet I know the feeling - it knocked me a bit too. I think it was the realisation that this can be quite a long process that got me. I'm already looking at when I can start again with the OPKs - talk about wishing my life away... 🙄

@Grace185 I stopped taking the mini pill at the beginning of December. It's been a long wait for AF to come (at least it felt really long 😅). Are your cramps any different this month? Maybe it's best to wait? I know it's really hard when it's all you can think about but you can get a false negative if you test too early too!

@Kittysw Completely agree about mindset out of the TWW. I definitely got weirdly obsessive and having the first cycle done and a new one ahead I feel like a new woman! Already feel less stressed! I hope I can keep this zen feeling going now and I can stay relaxed from here on out.

@Grace185 I am CD4 so literally all just started again. I'm trying to get my DF to try and understand the whole ovulation thing and there is a peak time to DTD but he just cannot grasp that concept.

@Annabelle0852 100% I'm going to try and carry this chill feeling on now and not get over excited in the TWW. I feel like I'm more prepared now for the next cycle though which is good :)

@Kittysw totally relate to this! Even though AF has arrived I’m now feeling more optimistic for next month again! The TWW is the worst 🙈 glad to be out of it and into the next cycle!

@Tryingforbaby91 I caved! but it was quite comical as I completely messed it up and peed all over it (lovely) with mid day wee. So no idea what to think. It was a cheap one and the ink bled everywhere. No line at all but that’s ok, I kinda just needed to do it today to see. It’s made me realise I’m ok with a negative as we can just try again. I’ll just wait for af and think about retesting next week if needed. I’m actually much calmer after it even with no line!

I hope I’m like that too @Annabelle0852 :) even with what just happened I’m feeling much more calm and will just wait for af to start again :)

@Grace185 haha 😂 I can't blame you. I've done a few tests since last month, even when knowing the chances were next to none. I get what you're saying about feeling better, even if it didn't work. Try to keep busy and with positive thoughts! And if the AF does come you'll have another chance next month 😊

@Tryingforbaby91 yeah as soon as I did it I was like ‘what an idiot’ but oh well haha. Yeah I’ll just wait it out now I’ve had my fix!

Hi ladies, I've spent hours reading this entire thread and you ladies are the loveliest so I hope I can join :)

I'm 29 and first proper month of TTC. Well... TTC kind of :D I've been going on about babies forever to my partner and a few months ago we just started having unprotected sex. He's super chill and so this approach makes sense. Though like many of you, I've researched for hours, put myself on folic acid supplements, been cutting out caffeine and this month started OPKS. It's the first month I know for a fact we DTD after a peak OPK test so I'm secretly hopeful. TWW is driving me mental though so I was so glad to find this thread with you lovelies being so supportive.

Anyway I'm 2 DPO now and AF due early Feb. Let's see what happens.

@Grace185 who would have thought that peeing on a stick is so hard!! I thought I was pregnant earlier last year even though we weren't trying and did exactly what you did. I guess that's why they sell the tests in packs will keep my fingers crossed for you for the next test :)

@Annabelle0852and @Kittysw I love your chilled mindset. TWW does crazy things to us but we can't let it get the best of us.

Hope I haven’t missed anything ladies, work has been crazy. Premom says AF due today but Flo says AF due Saturday, no sign as of yet. But I woke up with a beastly spot & what I would say is 99.9% AF cramps so I’m just awaiting her arrival now.

Has anybody tested or due to test this weekend??

@shannonl26 haha yeah it wasn’t good. The cup collection next time I have to do it! Hope they aren’t af cramps for you, I’m still having cramps but more like stabbing and stretching pains rather than my normal af dull low stomach ache so no idea.

Definitely got af cramps this morning :( just would like her to turn up now!
