First month TTC

Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Hi ladies, I’m new here and TTC for first baby this month too.
I’m already starting to become a bit obsessed with it all but I am really trying to stay relaxed.
I haven’t been tracking anything yet but I think I will start if it doesn’t happen this month (not expecting it to but secretly hoping)

@FieldView have you had your peak yet? I’m going to be using CB OPK this month. Hopefully doesn’t take too long for you x

@Eaststreet it’s a super exciting and scary time. It’s hard not to become obsessed with it but I am also trying to stay open minded. I’m going to try and make it fun. Good luck x

I agree it’s hard not to become obsessed but you’re right about keeping it fun.
I’m going to try and relax as it’s still so early on.
I think I’ve been quite shocked reading all the threads on mumsnet that it’s not as easy as you think it will be when you aren’t trying!
It’s nice to know others are in the same boat!

@Eaststreet it’s so true when people say you spend so many years of your life trying to avoid pregnancy and then when you start trying you realise how little the chances are as you only have a few days to catch. That’s why I started a new thread as I couldn’t find a new one about TTC so it’s lovely to have people comment and we’re all in the same boat and can support each other. Just try and stay relaxed I really hope by the end of the month we all get a BFP!! X

@Pixiedust018 no AF yet grrrr! Even DTD yesterday but she is yet to make an appearance. Just want to get on with it!

@Eaststreet I'm obsessed already too 😂 I'm such a planner and preparer and can see I will get stressed if it doesn't happen. And stress doesn't help 😂😂😂

@Chall139 it’s frustrating isn’t it!! On CD 5 just finished my AF so excited to start trying in the next few days. My app is saying to start opk’s in 4 days so not long now.

@Pixiedust018 I'm CD41 ☹️☹️☹️ but so excited for you!!! At least with the impending lockdown you will get to BD loads 😂😂

@Chall139 I had a 45 day cycle last month hoping it’s not that long this month!!! Hope your AF makes an appearance soon. Yes lots of time to DTD lol!

@Chall139 Oh I am such a planner too, I think it’s frustrating me that other than doing the obvious we have little control over when it happens!
@Pixiedust018 I am CD12 , I am so new to this though I haven’t totally figured out my cycle yet, hopefully I’ll figure it out soon! Not long to go for you. Pleased to be able to keep up to date with people on the same journey, I am the first out of my friends so it can feel a bit lonely!

Hi everyone! Hope it's ok that I join the chat. It mine and my DH first month TTC. I used CB OPKS advanced and I was high fertility on the 1st, 2nd and yesterday morning. So we DTD all 3 days as I only did my first one on the 1st. I'm 1 DPO now. I think we'll DTD tonight just to be sure!

I ran out of CB Advanced so bought the normal ones last night which showed as low fertility last night and this morning. Purchased the advanced ones again today that work with Bluetooth €70 I used one this morning which was also low fertility so I'm assuming I have ovulated. but at least I'll have them next month if this month is unsuccessful.

I'm 26 and have always had regular periods/ovulation so fingers crossed! Happy TTC everyone!

@Rd123 ah good luck this month! Sounds like you have done all you can! I haven’t used OPKS yet however I am thinking I might try next month with them and see if it helps! Let us know how you get on !!

@Eaststreet o have to say they're brill! I had a copper coil in for 5 years and I ovulated very month, when I got it out last June I went onto microlite pill for 3 months so I wanted to know around what time I'd be fertile. If you are getting them I'd recommend the advanced ones they're brilliant! Expensive but they work x

Any updates anyone? I’m 3 days away from starting my opk’s!! Exciting!! How’s everyone feeling?

@Pixiedust018 I sure will! Used OPKs yesterday 1 in morning 1 in evening and nothing so I'm almost sure I OV 2/3 days ago so I'm gonna says I'm 2 DPO. Gonna try my best to wait the 2 full weeks to test but I'm very impatient 😂 I ordered tests online and they take a week/10 days so at least I won't go buying any! How are u feeling? What OPKS did u get?

@Rmd123 yeah sounds like you’ve ovulated then. It’s so hard in the tww isn’t it!! I’m going to try not to test either. I’m using CB opk’s this month and will be dtd every other day.

I’m starting to think I’ve ruined my chances this month by not using OPK’s. Been dtd everyday for the last week (apart from yesterday) and I’m cd13 now but obviously not sure when I will be ovulating, I’m guessing in the next few days?

I have ordered some for next month, but a bit frustrated with myself, hopefully the new lockdown will help out, all the time we will be spending together haha!

@Pixiedust018 still no AF 🙄 but getting some symptoms like getting very irritated with my OH 😂😂😂 yaaay the days are counting down for you!!

@Eaststreet yes totally!!! I know it takes time to happen but if it doesn't happen even though I did all of the right steps, I know I will be annoyed 😂

@Eaststreet I think I read that DTD every other day if you don't know when you ovulated is a good tactic, so it doesn't sound like you would have ruined your chances 😊

@Eaststreet don’t worry too much it sounds like you’ve covered enough to possibly catch ovulation!! There’s still a chance x

@Chall139 oh no! Really hope it shows soon for you! Are your cycles normally this long?

@Pixiedust018 no not normally but last month was quite long. I put it down to it being the first period since having the coil out but before that had 28 day cycles 😔 guess I just have to be patient and let my do what it needs to.

Hello! I would like to join you ladies please. I'm currently 10dpo cycle 1. I came off the pill a few months back but we used condoms until I had a better idea of what was going on with my body. After a long first cycle post pill I have had pretty regular cycles of around 26 days with a short luteal phase of 9-10 days. I took a test this morning and BFN. I guess I should be happy that my luteal phase appears to be extending but it's hard not to be a little bit disappointed. At least I can enjoy some wine when AF appears after being stupidly good over Christmas!

@Pixiedust018 thanks lovely 😊 I'm sure it will come at some point. Getting so close for you!! Do you have any idea of when you think your ovulation day is?

@SSW101 Welcome!!! Sorry to hear about your BFN, I had one Sunday so feel the disappointment with you! But you're still quite early in DPO so you might still be in the game? If not then enjoy that wine!!

@Chall139 my app is saying my ovulation is next Wednesday but I’ll start doing opk’s end of this week. From my previous cycles I do ovulate around CD15/16 but we shall see.

@SSW101 sorry to hear about your BFN. It is heartbreaking but it still might be too early so don’t count yourself out yet. Implantation doesn’t happen until around 9-12dpo so there’s still a chance. Hope you get your BFP soon x
