Hey!

Want to get a group of ladies who are TTC at the same time to have someone to chat to during this journey together. It's a lonely process for me and only
In early stages of trying but would love advice, tips and general chat. This is an open chat and can't wait to chat to you all

Thanks @apwilso but I think it was a premature celebration, it's been declining all day 🙄

MiniBaker · 04/12/2020 09:39

Hi @apwilso i’ve recently joined MumsNet as i’ve been TTC for 8 cycles now and it just feels like a turning point for me to suddenly feel like it’s not being easy or something is wrong 😔 I’ve already been to the doctor’s and had blood tests - they showed I ovulated and my hormone levels are fine so just wondering what else it might be. My Husband’s has his sperm tested this week and results due today. How long has your journey been? I really relate to so many of your comments in this chat - constantly find myself googling symptoms and trying to make sense of my body. Hoping to hear some post 8 months TTC success stories!

It’s so reassuring to read other people’s experiences xx

apwilso · 04/12/2020 09:57

@MiniBaker hi! All you can do is wait for the result and go from there. But there's a few ladies in this chat who have been trying longer and one the other day got there positive after 11 months which gives people hope!

Me personally I'm on cycle 2 of trying we think last month possibly ended in a chemical pregnancy but unsure. It's a very hard process that no one tells you about!

@apwilso that’s great to hear that someone has success on month 11! It gives me real hope. When we started trying back in May I never thought it would take this long! I’m 29 and my husband is 27, we’re both pretty healthy and have never really faced any health issues. So hoping it’s just bad timing and we’ll get it right one month soon.

Good luck on your journey! I think I was more stressed about it not happening in the first couple months as I thought it would happen instantly. I look forward to hearing lots of BFPs!

apwilso · 04/12/2020 14:19

@MiniBaker were all the same boat all get worried in the first few months! I'm just hoping it happens for us all soon xx

@MiniBaker I am roughly the same cycle as you just went into my 8th cycle ttc. I know it is pretty common to not conceive start away but still doesn't make it any easier. Can I ask where you are from ? I didn't think you could get tests here in Scotland until you have been ttc for 12 months. Good luck in your cycle, when are your next due AF ? Xx

Amy95 · 04/12/2020 16:12

Can anyone see the lines in these?

@1992EM ahh it’s great to speak to someone else who is at the same stage as me! Each month that passes I get more concerned something is not right and so many people in my family are either pregnant or just had babies, it highlights that ours is taking longer than the others. I just feel like why has it come so easy to them and not me 😢. I’m in England. I know you’re not supposed to get tests done until 12 months but I have been off the pill for 12 months so I asked to get tested - even though we have only really been actively trying since May - I explained to my doctor it was worrying me so she sorted it so I could get some blood tests done. I just wanted to get some kind of answers - when everything came back normal for me - I was relieved but it didn’t give me any answers. Doctor just said “most couples conceive after 2 years of trying” so keep trying... and said to have my husband’s sperm checked in the meantime. I’m 29 so I’m not in a super rush to get pregnant but I just didn’t want to wait around for another 4 months if I had a hormone issues or a vitamin deficiency that I could be taking in the mean time. Have you spoken to your Doctor about having a blood test? I’m in the middle of AF right now. Just keen to get through it and try again from next week! Xx

1992EM · 04/12/2020 17:56

@Minibaker I haven't went to my doctors yet. Was going to wait until the new year. I have been off the pill over a year now but we weren't trying at that point and were using other forms of contraception. My periods are regular and I get positive opks roughly the same time each month so I am hoping that is a good sign but would be good to get some reassurance. I am 28 and I am the same as you, no rush but wanted to get started incase there was an issue and could have it sorted sooner rather than later. Its a horrible stage as everyone around you is getting pregnant or have a baby. The thing I hold onto is we don't no how long they were trying for before it happened. No one knows we are ttc so it takes the pressure off x

1992EM · 04/12/2020 18:00

@Amy95 I can see something on the top one . Hopefully gets stronger . How many dpo are you? X

I was supposed to be due on 2 days ago xx

1992EM · 04/12/2020 19:35

@Amy095 oh that is a good sign . Try a first response early test . The strips tend to need more hormone to show a good line. First response need less hormone to pick up a pregnancy x

MiniBaker · 04/12/2020 19:50

@1992EM - I know everything said to wait a year but I was just really worried. Hopefully the next few months we’ll see some BFPs! That is true, I guess you never really know how long people were trying for. We’re going to try SMEP this month and I’m going to do all the LH tests properly! Most other months we’ve just been DTD every day leading up to when the app suggests i’m Ovulating. Have you tried SMEP?

marcella64 · 04/12/2020 20:38

Hi Girls, Can I jump on board!
We've officially started TTC baby number 3 🤪

1992EM · 04/12/2020 20:49

@minibaker we are trying that this month too 👍 fingers crossed it works x

apwilso · 05/12/2020 16:29

I'm 9dpo today getting weird pains but not sure if this is PMS extra emotional and anxiety ridden. But period is due in 3 days no normal symptoms of period. Did a test I'm convinced I can see like a shadow of a line but boyfriend says otherwise but probably getting line eyes. Just going to wait it out!

@apwilso Good to be here. I am 30, had my dd at 21 and ds at 24. Wonder how being pregnant at 30 will compare to 20!? I've not tested ovulation or anything yet, my tracker says I will have ovulated yesterday. Now for the big wait! I'm hoping I don't become obsessed over ttc this time. With baby 2 I was testing like a crazy lady. Congratulations to all who have had good news xx

apwilso · 06/12/2020 21:56

I'm due in my period in 2 days done tests but negative so thinking this month is game over but we can only wait. Boobs feel enormous!

@apwilso sorry to here you think you are out. There is still a chance and as they say you aren't out until AF shows. We are trying the smep this month . Heading into fertile week now and hopefully this will mean we cover all our chances.

apwilso · 07/12/2020 09:25

@1992EM I know fingers crossed still. What's smep x

OP posts:
1992EM · 07/12/2020 16:57

@apwilso sperm meets egg plan. You basically dtd every other day from CD8 until you peak and when you peak you dtd for 3 days in a row and have 1 day rest and then try again one last time. As sperm can survive more than one day it means you have the best chance of implanting or so they say .

apwilso · 07/12/2020 17:30

@1992EM never heard of that but gonna do some research I think. Sounds promising. Looks like I'm out. It's arrived 😖
