@paintfairy @Juno231 @MrsTwentyEight I didn't mean to fuel a debate either ☺️ and @paintfairy I'm not suggesting that you aren't ovulating either. Just throwing in what I've been told by the consultants so far at the fertility clinic.

Hope this doesn't sound completely wrong, but in a way, given we are all in the same boat, to my mind it would almost be good if that was the reason as it can be easily fixed. It seems better to me than any "unexplained" reason, ya know?

MrsTwentyEight · 13/11/2020 23:51

Didn't the Swedes get into trouble for misleading adverts with their whole Natural Cycles thing anyway...🤷🏽‍♀️

Anyway I don't want to argue - I wish all of you the best whatever method you or I use !! The only thing to care about is seeing that damn second line right now :)

@MimiArm agreed....all in the same boat so ...😑

paintfairy · 14/11/2020 09:59

@MimiArm in way, yes, if that's the reason then hopefully it can be dealt with easily. It's just frustrating that there was no indication! And I am thinking of all the money wasted on fancy condoms. 🤣

It doesn't matter what the reason really. As long as they can look at it and sort it out. ASAP. My DH is older than me and he's like- I'm not even going to live long enough to really see them become grown up? And he's right. We can't wait 5 years, just isn't feasible.

paintfairy · 15/11/2020 17:07

Cd 13 for me. Usually ovulated by now (if I do even). Still nothing on an opk. I thought though I might have been too late with doing them so I took my temp this morning (randomly slept through, often dont) to see if it came day 11 or before, and it was 36.35. Which is usually a pre ovulation temp. So god knows. Maybe I have just stopped. 🤔 Cycles are on lockdown?

MimiArm · 15/11/2020 22:19

@paintfairy CD14 here. I stopped using OPKs two cycles ago. But making sure to DTD every other day so we are covered.

Maybe you're just having a weird month this cycle as you seem to be fairly consistent with your symptoms/temps/spotting?

paintfairy · 16/11/2020 12:05

@MimiArm I think as long as you dtd regularly, the rest isn't needed. Which is why I stopped tracking the last 2 months. Because I think you just stress yourself out. How is it going on the medication?

As for me- i really don't know. Have I been ovulating even? So it makes the tracking unreliable. Didn't take temp this morning as was awake in the night. But I did wake up at 3am and went to the bathroom and had loads of CM? And felt in the mood. So I woke OH up. 🤣 Which tells me maybe it just hasn't happened yet? We'll just keep dtd anyway, whether there's a point- remains to be seen. You see people on here end up pregnant when they are told they can't achieve it and then there are others with no problems but still can't? So I guess just keep plodding on. I'm eager to see what the dr says tomorrow. I think I also need to lose weight if they are referring me. Don't want to give them any excuse to delay!

MimiArm · 16/11/2020 12:18

@paintfairy I agree 100%. I can tell when it's OV time (or at least it should be OV time) by the CM and since starting the Clomid, my ovaries twinge a lot and definitely feel "stimulated"! They almost burn so somethings definitely working.

The only thing I check admittedly is my RHR on Fitbit. It's been rising the past few days so I'm sure OV is very imminent, if it hasn't already happened.

It sounds like you're about to ovulate given your CM and early morning shenanigans 😂😂 I'm sure your DH was pleased by that wake up call!!

Have you much weight to lose? I am convinced that's why I'm not pregnant yet. They say fat = excess oestrogen which blocked progesterone and therefore ovulation. I'm only 5ft 1 and I weigh 12 stone. I'm a size 14. To look at me, despite my height and weight, I don't look massively overweight but I'm technically obese according to my BMi. Before the wedding I lost some weight and had been swimming before work each day. I'm going to pick that up again and keep trying to lose weight steadily. If I could get to 11 stone I would be a size 12 and look "slim". I would feel much better about myself. Yet, annoyingly, I have a friend who is my age (39), has diabetes, is very overweight and of course is pregnant with her second with no troubles conceiving at all. Arghhh!

paintfairy · 16/11/2020 13:27

@MimiArm I used to get twinges but I don't any more. However my sex drive increases (some months more than others) and CM changes. And some months I get loads too.

I know loads of overweight people who get pregnant. I just didn't want the nhs to decide i was overweight. I'm not sure what their threshold is but I know they've told people to lose weight and come back before. And I don't have the time. I told the dr on the phone I was 11 stone when she asked which she seemed to think was ok. But when I weighed myself after I was 11 and a half! Oops. I have put on weight though. I managed to get to under 10 for my wedding but it all went wrong after. I weighed myself this week and I was 11 stone 4 with clothes on. So I'm now not horrendously over what I said I was. 🙈

As for my DH - he deals with it better than I would. If he woke me up for that, I think I'd tell him where to go. 🤣

paintfairy · 17/11/2020 09:53

Morning ladies.

Well - CD 15 for me. And I'm not sure what's happening but it's definitely not a standard month. I'm taking that to be a good thing as I'm pretty sure ovulating really cannot be good. Plus I worry my body is stuck in a rut sometimes! I had a stronger line on an opk yesterday but I wouldn't deem it peak. I do struggle to hold long enough though. 🙄 My temp this morning was still only 36.39. So I definitely haven't ovulated (or whatever normally happens!). Still got a sex drive too.

Anyone got any better progress? 🤣

paintfairy · 17/11/2020 17:35

Ffs. 🙄 Yeah they were looking at the wrong one. Dr just said that looking at the results I did them in the other order. I said yes. And she said the progesterone suggests I am ovulating on the first one! False panic. She's referred it anyway so I've now got to wait to hear from them.

Juno231 · 17/11/2020 20:30

Called it 🙌

MimiArm · 17/11/2020 20:53

@paintfairy OMG 🙈🙈 Numpties haha. Good though that you're ovulating!

It's a calamity of errors isn't it!

I'm CD16 - RHR is high and I'm betting really strong ovary sharp pains - reckon today is OV day. Gonna have to DTD again tonight and am really not in the mood whatsoever!

paintfairy · 17/11/2020 20:57

@Juno231 🤣 I'm pleased they at least did the right tests. Ffs.

@MimiArm it is good yes. Although it still doesn't explain things. I'm cd 15 and I reckon I'm ovulating about now. Fingers crossed for you this time! 🤞

MimiArm · 17/11/2020 20:58

@paintfairy 🤞 for you too. I wish I'd hurry up so I can count down to maternity leave haha!

paintfairy · 18/11/2020 11:34

@MimiArm 🤣 literally feels like an impossible task! Here's hoping.

Temp 36.58 today. 🥳 First rise. So it was just a little late this month.

MimiArm · 20/11/2020 17:22

@paintfairy how has your temp been since your last message?

@Juno231 @MrsTwentyEight How are you both? Anything to report?

I'm CD19 here. RHR been rising everyday for the past week - hopefully I've ovulated a few days ago but as I'm not using OPKs, I've no idea when. Did have lots of ovary pains on both sides though most days this week. I've put it out of my mind (aside from updating you!) and will just get on with life until/if AF arrives whenever that may be!

Happy weekend everyone Smile

paintfairy · 20/11/2020 18:18

@MimiArm it was 36.61 the following day but I didn't take it this morning. I've still a high sex drive in the afternoons though oddly? So we've been dtd every other day anyway still.

I took my access request form to the drs. I tried yesterday but it closed at 12.30?! So took it tonight. Had to take ID etc. Since being home they have now rang to say they should have photocopied my ID but didn't. 🙄 I mean honestly?

Sounds positive @MimiArm let's hope you get a normal cycle this time!

MimiArm · 20/11/2020 18:34

@paintfairy OMG - the incompetence never ends 🙈🙈🙈

That's good you're still DTD every other day. If you're anything like us, we go great guns until suspected ovulation then there is a dry spell for 4/5 days 😂

paintfairy · 20/11/2020 18:52

@MimiArm my surgery has merged with another too. The dr I'm talking to is from the other one. So it was their reception (the other times it was mine) so I don't think no one anywhere ever knows what they are doing!

Yeah after ovulation we do have a dry spell sometimes. In fact some months we do nothing again. It just depends. Mainly though because I'm spotting. DH has a higher drive than me so I just go along with it if he wants to. But the spotting issue is a pain.

Juno231 · 20/11/2020 20:06

@MimiArm nothing to report, just been stupidly busy with work this week, I'm absolutely shattered now and will probably have to work all weekend to catch up still.

9DPO and I'm just trying to ignore symptoms. But I notice every little thing anyway 😂. 6-8DPO I've been having twinges on the side I ovulated from, lower back pain, been really tired (that's work though, surely) - but the thing I'm noticing the most is that I'm far less spotty than I usually am at this point? The spots stopped appearing this week, even though they started at ovulation as per usual.

Juno231 · 20/11/2020 20:07

@MimiArm oh and our dry spell often lasts until after AF post OD 🙊

@paintfairy all these nhs cock ups make my eyes twitch.

Actually another update is that I get a referral for fertility clinic - appointment is 17th of May...

OP posts:
paintfairy · 20/11/2020 20:38

@Juno231 its not exactly reassuring is it?

17th May. I mean- why not make it for 5 years time. No hurry like.

paintfairy · 21/11/2020 08:38

@MimiArm 36.89 this morning! 🥳
My temps haven't been getting quite that high the last few cycles i checked. Wondering if it's the b6? Who knows. Regularly temping stresses me out so I think I'm not going to do it. I only started looking this time because of what the bloody receptionist said. Idiot.

Juno231 · 21/11/2020 10:09

@paintfairy I sometimes toy with the idea of getting a Bluetooth connected bbt thermometer so I can take my temps and automatically log them without me seeing what they are 🙊.

OP posts:
MimiArm · 21/11/2020 14:44

@Juno231 you're tiredness and lack of spots sounds promising at this stage of DPO. Keep us posted! And your May referral - supposed that's not too bad. I was referred almost 6 months ago to NHS fertility clinic as an urgent case cos of my age and I'm still waiting (and have been told I will be waiting for YEARS!) hope you manage to get some down time this weekend. I know the feeling - I've had to work so much extra lately and it's the pits!

@paintfairy Your temp is staying high! This is promising too. The change could well be the B6. My RHR has climbed everyday for over a week now and today, it's the highest it's ever been! (75 - it's usually 72 at a max pre AF and 62 post AF).

It seems as though we are all experiencing something different this cycle - ya never know ladies!
