Ladies the thread got too big so I have started a new one hope you don't mind, I will cart the list and the tonnes of baby dust over in a minute.......................

OP posts:
Spink · 03/10/2007 10:26

Penny - how horrid for you. Hope you're feeling ok. If I were you, I'd book in to see the GP, just to make sure nothing funny is going on.

A similar thing happened to me last month, tho I tested and got BFP just before my 'AF' arrived. Really similar pattern to your bleeding. When I tested a few days later it was BFN. I was told it was a chemical pregnancy, and that it ended very early on which is why my hormone levels returned to normal quite soon after.
If this has happened to you, don't worry about it being because of wine and camembert and things. When stuff goes wrong very early in preg, I've been told that it is because of a problem with the chromosomal make up of the embryo. And nothing to do with 'maternal factors'. So don't be blaming yourself, lady.

{hug}

and as far as I know, false positives are really really rare.

PennyBenjamin · 03/10/2007 10:45

Thanks Spink, and thanks also for the hug. Feeling very strange today.

I'm sure you are right, I will just wait and do another test. Just horrible as common sense is telling me that I've had AF and I'm not pregnant, but the little voice of hope is telling me that stranger things have happened.

Guess I'll just try to get through today by ignoring it. Easier said than done!

Thanks to all for your advice.

07mumstheword · 03/10/2007 10:47

So interesting reading your comments.

penny I hope it all works out for you

I had BFP x 3 over wk end but AF turned up on Mon and then BFN. This is the 2nd time and I'm a bit confused. Will have to do some research on chemical pregnancy.

So back to the beginning for me CD 2 / 28 am I on the right thread now?

spookykitty · 03/10/2007 10:52

just tested and BFN so just waiting for AF to turn up now

07MTW - would say welcome but it's a bit that you are back here too I will update the list for you, heres to a July baby for you, me and muppet

digitalgirl · 03/10/2007 10:52

{grin]
Congrats Deb!!!!! Let us know if the line gets stronger!!

PB - if your period was quite heavy then it's poss that it was a chemical pg, however if it was light then there's a chance it was an implantation bleed and you could be pg and the CB wasn't as sensitive (or your wee was diluted later in the day). Try again tomorrow morning. Or like others have said, book an appt with your GP if you're worried. Everytime I book a doc appt, I have to do it so far in advance I've usually sorted myself out by the time it comes round.

Feeling a bit today, pissed of with my sister (staying with me and dh and not paying rent), her boyfriend (also sponging off us and annoying the neighbours with his aggressively loud phone conversations) and my dad (gone back to seeing his evil ex-wife again despite her cheating on him, stealing £60k off him and beating up their son till his was covered in bruises).

FoghornLeghorn · 03/10/2007 11:02

Sorry SK

And you 07 Must be so confusing for you

07mumstheword · 03/10/2007 11:02

Thanks spookykitty for updating the list. For info I'm TTC dc 2 MC Jul & Sept.

Sorry your DG but it sounds like you have every right to be. You can choose your friends but not your family as they say

digitalgirl · 03/10/2007 11:20

thanks 07mumstheword - and sorry you're back on the list. hope it's not for too long though.

Spink · 03/10/2007 11:20

mumstheword - crossing fingers for you that it doesn't happen again, and that your BFPs stay BFPs this month.

It is the one down side, for me anyhow, about this counting the days and testing as soon as AF is late thing..
if I hadn't tested last month, a day after AF was due, I would've just thought I'd had a strange period, and wouldn't have gone through that crazy rollercoaster of huge excitement with the BFP, then the worry and crushing disappointment when AF turned up. Apparently 1 in 4 pregnancies end really early, so much so that they are mostly mistaken for periods... it must happen to lots and lots of us.

All this has made me want to be a lot more relaxed about the whole testing thing. I think my new strategy will be to wait until AF is 4 days late before I pee on a stick. Argh. I say this now...

GardenAngel4 · 03/10/2007 11:24

deb AWESOME! wow to think we MN'd last night and you had a little heartbeat inside you already. So pleased for you.

V.sorry for everyone else. But Hey THIS IS A LUCKY THREAD PEOPLE!!

Well, my window is now firmly shut and locked as am about to take DH to the airport to fly to the other side of the world for 3 weeks.Had a shot at it in last 24hrs, temperature was up - that's a good thing right?? Just have to sit back and wait and hope you all beat me to it!

muppet I lived in Southsea for 4 years am now in the North (permanently!!)

TheMuppetMuggle · 03/10/2007 11:36

MTW Sorry to read that AF has arrived but as SK Says you can join us in having July babies

SK Chin up honey, feeling down doesn't necessarily (sp?) mean AF on its way could be pregnancy hormones flying all over the place.

PB i agree with everyone else go and see the dr, it could of been chemical but go see them anyway.

GA you can join Me,SK,&MTW in having a july baby x

Don't like these cramps doing my head in all ready

spookykitty · 03/10/2007 11:49

muppet - don't think it is honey I did a CDB and got a BFN this morning (so much for waiting until Thursday) I was feeling weepy so might as well get all the bad stuff in the one day.

Here's to a July baby!

Excitable · 03/10/2007 11:50

Oh dear, this is suddenly quite a sad thread.

Poor DG that would make me angry too. It must be hard not talking about ttc when your sister's in the house. I find it hard enough to be quiet about it at work all day, but if I had to be quiet at home too, I'd explode! (((hug)))

Penny you mustn't know whether you're coming or going at the moment. I'd like it if women's bodies were easier to fathom, wouldn't you? Let's all club together to offer the person who invents the belly button that turns blue when you're pregnant a lifetime of luxury. It would be worth every penny!

Excitable · 03/10/2007 12:05

Excitable rolls in the baby dust on the deck and swallows some accidentally on purpose in an effort to cheer herself up.

Muppet they advise nurofen on the National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome Website. Can't believe that organisation exists. You wouldn't want to be the only man in the building when the chocolate machine breaks down, would you?!!

TheMuppetMuggle · 03/10/2007 12:08

Hugs SK So we can be the first to announce July babies

Thanks Excitable I've taken some paracetomal so hopefully that kicks in soon

Excitable · 03/10/2007 12:21

Also, I find that shouting helps! Doesn't really take the pain away, but it does distract you for a bit. Low moaning is quite good too... even inside your head...

TheMuppetMuggle · 03/10/2007 12:49

I've never suffered cramps - just back ache. would rather go through childbirth again

Meglet · 03/10/2007 12:59

Weird stuff going on here. AF has not arrived, I got the faintest barely there line yesterday when I tested late afternoon but a BFN mid morning today- however it was a cheapy test from Wilkos . Am wearing my bestest undies to see if that gets AF to start. Think I will wait until Friday and see if I get a definate answer.

muppet sorry you are having bad cramps. hope the painkiller helps.

digitalgirl · 03/10/2007 13:03

ooo meglet could be, could be! test again tomorrow morning, keep us posted!

TheMuppetMuggle · 03/10/2007 13:15

ooo Meglat Sounds promising

spookykitty · 03/10/2007 13:48

Meglet - keeping everything crossed for you

I'm still feeling quite weepy not helped by the fact it's been raining here and I've been stuck in with the DDs who got up an hour earlier today so are crabby.

TheMuppetMuggle · 03/10/2007 13:50

SK I think its something in the air Darcie was the same this morning grrr.

Excitable · 03/10/2007 13:52

I was the same this morning - does that count?
