Sorry fairy what age is your DD again? Could she be starting to self wean? I was BFing DD1 when I got pregnant with DD2 when she was 9 months, I fed her until she was just over 12 months when I was about 3 months pregnant. DD1 was never a hungry baby I had to remember to offer her a boob as she hardly ever cried for milk, we were down to one feed a day in the morning when she was 12 months we got up one morning and I can't remember but she didn't ask for it/never got one and had a beaker of milk instead and that was the end of BFing. TBH I wasn't too bothered as my nips were killing me and I was really tired with the pregnancy and was going through a v stressful time (house move) so it was the best thing for both of us. Maybe my milk had changed and she didn't like the taste I don't know, I don't think it could be colostrum that early on I've read somewhere that you don't start producing colostrum until late in pregnancy.

I hope that makes some kind of sense?
Are you thinking about giving up BFing or want to continue?

spookykitty · 02/10/2007 22:53

2 week wait is the 14 days between ovulation and AF arriving (or a BFP) if you have a 28 day cycle although it's usually always 14-15 days long (someone correct me).

on the 2ww it's important to obsess about every ache, pain, strange taste, emotion etc until you drive yourself completely mad.

fairysnuff · 02/10/2007 23:02

Thank you SK
DD has just turned 1, so I think she may well be beginning to self wean.
I am just wishing an hoping that it is because the milk had changed.
I am sure I heard somewhere that it was almost immediate?
I thought it strange but they said that the babies are possibly so keen on the milk that they will accept the change or they could self wean.
I was hoping it would happen cos then I wouldn't have to wean her myself

can't remember who told me it though.
See, I just want to jump on the 2ww sooner than I ought to

Better turn off the laptop now. DH is making loud sighing noises and they are not good ones!!

MissusH · 02/10/2007 23:05

Oooh Spooky it's a fine looking craft (am tempted to slip into Piratespeak - avast!)

Is there a dinghy anywhere - or a very long gangplank? (dons jaunty hat and deckshoes, singing a shanty)

I think you are right ref the 2ww - if you count back 14 days from cd1 you will get ov date, regardles of cycle length (it is the first part of the cycle that varies from woman to woman...)

spookykitty · 02/10/2007 23:07

We have a lovely gangplank for everyone to come aboard, alcohol free cocktails and cake aplenty, hpts in the toilet so we can pee and test whenever we like!

fairy - I don't know then see what the next few days bring for you

MissusH · 02/10/2007 23:13

I'm on my way...

God bless the SS Loopy, and all who sail on her

debinaustria · 03/10/2007 06:26

Reassure me please - a line is a line isn't it?

Just done a cheapy HPT and I've got a line but it is faint - what do you think?

Deb

Nakamura · 03/10/2007 07:40

Thanks to all for the welcome, sorry I didn't pop back last night

Sorry spookykitty, I don't know a thing about green teams from Glasgow, just have a slight Heroes obsession (TV character called Hiro Nakamura)

I'm on CD5 then I guess, but I have no idea about my cycle. This is my first time TTC, I had the implant taken out last month, and before that was on the pill for soooo long I can't even remember what normal periods are.

Still, managed to convince myself I was pregnant before AF came a few days ago. Can't believe how quickly I fell into symptom spotting! Sore boobs, check. Is that a metallic taste in my mouth? I think it is!

Ah well, may as well start as I mean to go on eh?

spookykitty · 03/10/2007 07:46

oh oh oh deb a line is a line looking v good for you!!!!! Which test did you use?

Nakamura - I love Heroes as well and Hiro is my favourite character

So is anyone else testing today I'm going to be strong and resist until tomorrow. Hang on I'll do the list.....

debinaustria · 03/10/2007 07:56

HI SK - Someone on another forum sent out her spare opt's and HPT's when she got pregnant. I think they must be cheap ones form e-bay or somewhere - they're the ones which are just a strip of card literally and you look out for a line. It was a faint line but when I got back from the school run it is darker now!!

A friend here has a Clearblue spare so I'll get that on Saturday and test again just to make sure.

Deb

debinaustria · 03/10/2007 08:21

OK, just found the tests or sale on e-bay and it says they are the "One step" tests - ultra sensitive to 10MUI - whatever that means. Come one everyone wake up, get on here and tell me I'm pregnant!!

Excitable · 03/10/2007 08:21

Oh oh oh oh oh!!

Deb I think this might be it for you!!! I'll have to sit on my hands again until Saturday. You seem so calm - how do you do it????

Nakamura love your name, wish I'd thought of it. Oh and welcome!

Also glad someone else prods their boobs until they're sore to see if they're sore.

Have a great day everyone. Was uncharacteristically gloomy this morning, but a spell on the SS Loopy has cheered me up no end!

debinaustria · 03/10/2007 08:25

Exciteable - I am not calm!!! I just sound it!!! Now that I've seen that they are ultra sensitive tests I'm pretty convinced , wait a minute let me check it again...Yep -it's still there!

Deb

Lorayn · 03/10/2007 08:30

Sorry, I keep gatecrashing these threads, but deb a line is a line, unless there is some HCG in your urine tghere would not be a line, no matter how faint it is, if it is there, then HCG is present, therefore, you're pregnant. Good luck and congrats.

debinaustria · 03/10/2007 08:34

Thanks Lorayn!!

Spink · 03/10/2007 08:36

CONGRATULATIONS deb!!!! and thank you for giving me such a lovely thing to wake up to!!
xx

spookykitty · 03/10/2007 08:37

well congratulations Deb looks like we have another BFP graduate well done!!!

debinaustria · 03/10/2007 08:40

You're welcome Spink - btw, just looked at your profile - what a lovely baby you have and a great Birthday , ds2 is also on 20th Feb!!

Deb

PennyBenjamin · 03/10/2007 09:38

Morning all, and many congratulations to Deb. This may really be the lucky thread after all....

I have a bit of a story, then a plea for advice.

So, AF arrived on Sunday. Was very sad, but DH did a good job of cheering me up with a big glass of wine and a slab of chocolate. Normal AF on Monday. Normal AF yesterday morning, then abruptly at lunchtime yesterday no more AF.... Thought it was odd, as my AF usually lasts about 5 days, then peters out, doesn't just stop dead.

Anyway, this morning still no AF, and as I had a Boots test in my drawer, thought I'd do it, just in case. Lo and behold, BFP! As you can imagine, having just had AF, shock does not cover it!

If only that were the end of the story! Just got into work, and bought a CBD test on my way in. Tested, and got BFN! What the hell is going on!

Have all sorts of things rushing round my head, from false positive, to chemical pregnancy, to having drunk wine and eaten camembert while I am pregnant! Help!

TheMuppetMuggle · 03/10/2007 09:51

Hey Ladies

Deb A line is a line Congrats i hope CB shows up correctly on sat.

Welcome to Nakamura

SK How you doing today??

I never suffer period cramps ever, but got really bads ones at the moment, thought i was going to be in tears last nite. Tell me how i get rid of them? I only ever have back ache, which i don't seem to have at the moment but would gladly have my backache right now!

spookykitty · 03/10/2007 10:02

Penny - sorry I have no advice for youI would wait a few days test again and see what it says? If worried go to your GP.

Muppet - hi sorry about the cramps, I used to take a couple of painkillers and a hot water bottle. I'm not that good today feeling very down which is a sure sign AF is on it's way as I usually get v emotional before she comes a-visiting. I really want to test today get a BFN and be done with it though.

MissusH · 03/10/2007 10:14

Wooohoo - congrats Deb!!!

This is such a lucky thread

Penny - I'm with SK on the missing AF - I would wait a day or two and retest if she doesn't check in...

fairysnuff · 03/10/2007 10:24

I think that is the only advice you willl be given penny
How frustrating though!!WEEWOWEE

WOWEEWOWEE!! DEB Congratulations!!
I have those ones, I even have info about them, ooh..........bugger, upstairs with DD who is having her milk on tyhe bed and a bad habit of jumping off (head first, though she knows how to get down, she has forgotten recently???)
Not even sure where it is
I will find it as soon as I can and read it to you.
Won't matter though, a line is a line.
How many times is it said to others? But when it is yourself, you just don't believe it!!

Well done you!!

fairysnuff · 03/10/2007 10:25

Oh sugar, that first wowee was a typo, not meant to be insensitive to penny's plight.
